Enjoy At Your Own Risk! These Are The Side Effects Of Eating Fast Food

There is no denying the convenience that is fast food. Whether you're on a road trip or need to grab a quick lunch before going back to work, there's a fast rood restaurant ready to serve your needs. But just because these stops are fast, doesn't mean they're healthy. In fact, the health risks of a fast-food burger might make you re-think your decision. These are the side effects heading your way... Source

Politicians vs Memes Sparks Free Speech Crisis in Germany

If you're tired of censorship and dystopian threats against civil liberties, subscribe to Reclaim The Net. It may have been former German Chancellor Angela Merkel’s cabinet that came up with a law allowing politicians to sue for alleged defamation but members of the current authorities are the ones reaching for it with alarming frequency. Over the last three years, there have been over 1,300 such cases, with journalists among those named as defendants, while the ruling coalition, and Green Party politicians in particular, often see “defamation” even in social media posts and memes. Those found guilty are punished by hefty fines, but can also be sent to prison. And while critics of this surge of using the legal system to protect politicians – sometimes from no more than what amounts to “hurt feelings” – point out that the practice could see Germany spiral into free speech repression, those defending the state of affairs want the rules regulating what can and can’t be posted online to be even stricter. Vice Chancellor Robert Habeck’s comments to this effect came across as sheer defiance since he made them after a major controversy that saw the police raid the home of a Bavarian pensioner, Stefan Niehoff because he had posted a meme that referred to this politician as an “idiot.” Habeck’s idea now is to combine “decency and democracy” into more stringent rules that would prevent what he considers unacceptable criticism. However, opponents think that what is in fact unacceptable in a democracy is the stifling of various forms of dissent, including satirical memes. Not all politicians believe getting in a tizzy over being called names and then criminally prosecuting citizens is the way to go. Armin Laschet, the former head of the North Rhine-Westphalia state government, argues that people should be able to refer to members of the ruling class as “morons,” “idiots” and the like – that is, in a democracy. Otherwise, Laschet told the German press, that a country is a dictatorship. And while this politician says he drew the line at death threats and filed complaints only when receiving those, the number of legal cases launched over what can be seen as trivial insults is only rising, particularly after the Social Democrats-Greens-Free Democrats coalition came to power. Lessons I’ve Learned Living Off The Grid

My journey off the grid began back in 2012. In these seven years, I've learned several things I'd like to share with you. Now I've bounced back and forth between living off and on the grid, but a majority of my time has been spent living off the grid. Living Off The Grid: Lessons Learned Through Time There are just some things you can't learn by reading them out of a book. Of course you can try, but it's just not the same. If you've ever considered spending some time off the grid or taking the leap and living that way you just might want to, read what I'm about to share. There are many positives and negatives to this type of life. But, in my humble opinion, the good outweighs the bad. Temporary Is Longer Than You Think When I first journeyed off of the grid, there were many things that were intended to be temporary. I just didn’t realize how long temporary could be! I hauled water by hand in 5-gallon buckets from the spring to our kitchen and sawed all of my cook wood and firewood by hand as well. This was only supposed to last for a few weeks, but weeks turned into months. My muscle mass improved, and I learned to carry the buckets without spilling a drop. There’s No Time Like The Present My life on the grid was much different from the one I lived off of the grid. On the grid, I felt as though I always had to worry about tomorrow, and I ended up missing the moments of today. In contrast, off grid, I found myself lost in many moments worth living. I was able to focus more on the now — as well as the future to come. Don’t Put Off For Tomorrow What You Could Do Today Sometimes the day was just so beautiful that I wanted to go adventuring through the woods and make nature discoveries. I found myself putting off gathering wood for that day, claiming I would get extra the next. When tomorrow came, storms rolled in, and I was down on wood. Time Is Of The Essence There are only so many hours of daylight in one day. When the huckleberries and blueberries are ready for harvesting they are juicy, plump, and sweet. If you don’t take that time to collect them, something else will, or they'll just drop to the ground and go to waste. What you do with your time off the grid matters in big ways. Patience All of this talk of time leads me to learning (and now teaching!) patience. What patience I didn’t gain as a child was finally taught to me off the grid. You have no choice but to be patient when it comes to harvesting food, daylight, rain, etc.. At first it may be hard, but through having no choice, you can learn how to deal with being patient. Appreciation I've never really been an unappreciative person. However, moving into the woods and off the grid still taught me far more about appreciating the little things than you might imagine. I learned to appreciate what I had, as well as what I didn’t have. I learned to be thankful for everything and anything. Now, when I give my thanks throughout the day, I always remember to be thankful for the troubles and hardships that I don’t have along with any and all of the good I do! Eco-friendliness When you live so far into the woods that there is NO trash truck that will do pick-up, you are led to live so much more eco-friendly. There is so much more to being eco-friendly than one might think. I learned that literally every single action made can cause a reaction in more than one way — whether it be good or bad. Watch this video by Tiny Home Tours of his lessons learned by living off the grid in Alaska: Not everything in life can be found in a book. These lessons I have learned living off of the grid are ones that have made some of the biggest positive impacts on my very existence. I find myself being more mindful on a much larger scale, doing more with my time, learning as much as I can, and being one with nature in a whole new realm of reality. Plus, my meditation has improved and doing yoga in the forest is amazing! Living off the grid for me is a way of life almost like a religion I practice. Off-grid living is full of life lessons, and I hope this little bit of insight has you intrigued by the possibilities. Happy learning!! Have your ever tried living off the grid? It’s not necessarily a safety issue, but it’s not super appetizing either.

‘Space Censorship’ Confirmed, Revealing Secrets of Quantum Gravity

Physicists have developed a groundbreaking model providing mathematical proof that singularities inside black holes are hidden from observers. In the 1960s, British physicist and mathematician Roger Penrose proposed the “cosmic censorship” principle, a hypothesis suggesting that singularities—regions of space-time with extreme gravitational forces—are always concealed behind a black hole’s event horizon. Singularities are unique points where the classical laws of physics, such as general relativity, break down. Although Penrose’s description of black hole singularities is widely accepted, the “cosmic censorship” principle lacked mathematical proof—until now. Four years ago, Penrose was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics for his pioneering work on singularities. Building on his ideas, researchers have developed a new model, published in Physical Review Letters, that mathematically demonstrates how singularities in quantum black holes remain hidden. The authors of the study believe their findings could unravel long-standing mysteries surrounding quantum gravity, reports Interesting Engineering. Unlike regular black holes, which form when massive stars collapse in supernova explosions, quantum black holes are theoretical subatomic objects that obey the laws of both quantum mechanics and general relativity. While regular black holes are known to exist in space, quantum black holes have yet to be observed and remain speculative. Some scientists hypothesize they could be created in particle accelerators, such as the Large Hadron Collider. To explore the hidden nature of singularities, physicists devised a model that examines how quantum matter interacts with quantum black holes. The model employs gravitational holography, a technique that studies gravity under extreme conditions. Gravitational holography suggests that information about a black hole is encoded on its boundary, or event horizon—similar to how a hologram stores three-dimensional data in a two-dimensional image. The model reveals that when quantum matter interacts with the space-time geometry of a quantum black hole, a quantum effect triggers the formation of an event horizon around the naked singularity, fully concealing it from observers. This phenomenon has been termed quantum “cosmic censorship” by the researchers. While the new model confirms the “cosmic censorship” principle for quantum black holes, mathematical proof for classical black holes remains elusive. However, researchers are optimistic that this quantum breakthrough will pave the way for similar results in classical physics. Physicists believe their findings mark a crucial step toward solving the mysteries of quantum gravity—the theoretical framework that seeks to unify quantum mechanics and general relativity. A deeper understanding of black hole singularities and the behavior of “cosmic censorship” under quantum influences could provide significant insights into the fabric of the universe.
