Two commercial airplanes clipped wings on the tarmac at Logan Airport in Boston, forcing a flight cancellation. The incident occurred Monday at a Terminal E gate with passengers on board. “Emergency crews are currently on the scene at Logan Airport in Boston, Massachusetts, after two planes operated by American Airlines and Frontier Airlines clipped wings on the tarmac. No injuries were reported from the collision, which occurred at a Terminal E gate while passengers were on board,” Rawsalerts wrote. “According to a Massport spokesperson, the wingtips of both planes made contact. A spokesperson for Frontier said that 200 people were onboard Flight 3601 heading to Dallas Fort-Worth at the time. There were no injuries reported from both the crew and passengers onboard, Frontier said. American said Flight 109 had just arrived from London. The plane has been removed from service for inspection, the airline said. There was also a firetruck and Massachusetts State Police vehicles at the scene. There were 200 people on board the A321, which was preparing to department. American Airlines confirmed flight 109 from London Heathrow Airport was pulling into its gate when it made contact with the parked aircraft. “There were no reported injuries, and customers deplaned the aircraft shortly after. The aircraft has been removed from service for inspection by our maintenance team. We apologize to our customers for any inconvenience this caused,” the American Airlines spokesperson wrote. Both planes had to be deboarded to inspect for damage, Massport said. The Frontier flight was canceled, leaving some passengers frustrated as they had to wait a day or two for a new flight during the busy travel period. Frontier said it is offering rebooking options or full refunds, as well as hotel and meal vouchers.
