Spin Cycle: The Hand-Wringing Continues Over Trump Cabinet Picks

For those who don’t spend their Sunday mornings glued to the television — and their Sunday afternoons attempting to dig through a week’s worth of network and cable news media spin — The Daily Wire has compiled a short summary of what you may have missed. Now that the 2024 presidential election is in the rearview mirror — not to mention the fact that President-elect Donald Trump has a decisive mandate to govern along with a solid majority in the incoming Senate — media appears content to pass the time leading up to the holidays and the now inevitable Trump transition by casting doubt on every nomination and appointment he makes. On ABC News’ “This Week,” host Jonathan Karl kicked off the show by attempting to cast doubt on the process, suggesting that Trump was rushing — and perhaps being less than thorough — to fill out his White House and his cabinet, and fretting about the lack of FBI background checks thus far. “Donald Trump has chosen nearly all of his Cabinet nominees and senior White House staff, making his picks at a record pace and bypassing the typical vetting process — no FBI background checks yet for any of them,” Karl said. “Donald Trump has chosen nearly all of his Cabinet nominees and senior White House staff, making his picks at a record pace and bypassing the typical vetting process — no FBI background checks yet for any of them,” @JonKarl reports. https://t.co/2oJUrLxdzs pic.twitter.com/YW5gcJ5utk — This Week (@ThisWeekABC) November 24, 2024 As for Trump’s efforts to get the incoming Republican Senate majority to back his nominees, Karl said that he’d been told that “Senate Republicans would have no choice but to get in line – or see their political careers go down.” “A top Trump lieutenant told me Senate Republicans would have no choice but to get in line – or see their political careers go down.” @JonKarl has the latest on President-elect Donald Trump’s transition and Cabinet nominations: https://t.co/MN4JyASUOz pic.twitter.com/H3yFRDsFqD — This Week (@ThisWeekABC) November 24, 2024 Senator Bill Hagerty (R-TN) joined Karl to discuss the situation, and he noted that Trump expected to “hit the ground running,” which was why he was attempting to have all of his nominees ready for hearings and confirmation votes as soon as he was sworn in. He also argued that Trump’s cabinet would face the kind of accountability that President Joe Biden’s never had. “Massive failures on his watch, massive failures by his Cabinet members,” Hagerty said. “President Trump will fire people that don’t do their job well.” GOP Sen. Bill Hagerty says there have been “zero consequences in President Biden’s Cabinet.” “Massive failures on his watch, massive failures by his Cabinet members … President Trump will fire people that don’t do their job well.” https://t.co/KdNiJx0rfz pic.twitter.com/3nlOWQGjNF — This Week (@ThisWeekABC) November 24, 2024 Karl also brought in Senator Amy Klobuchar (D-MN), who complained that without background checks, she did not feel that she could do her job in the confirmation process properly: “I want to make a decision on each one of them on the merits, as I’ve done in the past, and I can’t do that without the background checks.” Sen. Amy Klobuchar emphasizes the importance of FBI background checks for Donald Trump’s Cabinet nominees. “I want to make a decision on each one of them on the merits, as I’ve done in the past, and I can’t do that without the background checks.” https://t.co/WKLUEDPARu pic.twitter.com/qGlDtGy9C2 — This Week (@ThisWeekABC) November 24, 2024 On CBS News’ “Face the Nation,” host Margaret Brennan spoke with Senator Tammy Duckworth (D-IL) about Defense Secretary nominee Pete Hegseth — and she attacked his position on women serving in combat roles. “Our military could not go to war without the women who wear this uniform,” Duckworth said, appearing to conflate Hegseth’s position — that women should not serve in direct combat — with an opposition to women in the military altogether. “And frankly, America’s daughters are just as capable of defending liberty and freedom as her sons … [It] shows his lack of understanding of where our military is.” “He’s just flat-out wrong,” Sen. Tammy Duckworth (D-IL), a veteran who sits on the Senate Armed Services Committee, says about defense secretary pick Pete Hegseth’s belief that women should not serve in combat roles. “Our military could not go to war without the women who wear… pic.twitter.com/BcXQHfgQ9D — Face The Nation (@FaceTheNation) November 24, 2024 Duckworth also made an appearance on CNN’s “State of the Union,” where she told anchor Dana Bash that she believed former Hawaii Rep. Tulsi Gabbard — chosen by Trump to be his Director of National Intelligence — was “compromised” and “someone who is wholly backing and supportive of Putin.” “I think she’s compromised.” .@TammyDuckworth slams Director of National Intelligence pick Tulsi Gabbard in an interview with @DanaBashCNN. pic.twitter.com/HTNBz9TMWx — State of the Union (@CNNSOTU) November 24, 2024 Senator Markwayne Mullin (R-OK) pushed back on Duckworth’s attacks on Gabbard, saying, “For her to say ridiculous and outright dangerous words like that is wrong.” “For her to say ridiculous and outright dangerous words like that is wrong.”@SenMullin reacts to Sen. Beautiful Nature: Homeowner Spots Stunningly Rare Deer Gracing Their Backyard

A woman on social media caught the most mesmerizing footage of a piebald deer wandering into her backyard, and her video reminds us that nature is full of surprises! One stunning characteristic made this beautiful doe stand out: a unique pattern of white patches on her coat. This graceful creature looked almost otherworldly as she explored the partially wooded property. Close behind her walked another deer with an ordinary brown coat. According to the resident’s social media caption, she’d seen this majestic piebald deer in her yard before. However, it had apparently been a while. Naturally, this woman was thrilled that the gorgeous animal decided to come back for another visit! @patriciann22 Our magical girl is back, we havent seen her since spring #piebald #deer #whitetail #magical #forest #woods #woodlands #autumn #fall #deerseason #deertiktok ♬ Magical Fairy Tale – Saltonbria “Our magical girl is back, we haven’t seen her since spring,” she wrote. Not only was this an incredible sight to behold, but it was also a fairly rare one. In fact, one user in the comments section compared the odds of seeing this half-white doe to catching a glimpse of a unicorn! Although we’re pretty sure you’re more likely to see a piebald deer than a mythical creature, these animals are still hard to come by. That’s because they’re the recipients of an uncommon genetic mutation. According to the National Deer Association, it takes two deer with the recessive gene for piebaldism to create a fawn with these striking white patches. Screengrab from TikTok Sadly, there’s another reason we don’t see all that many adult piebald deer walking around. The same genetic mutation that gives these animals their distinctive appearance sometimes comes with harmful deformities that can affect their spine, legs, and more. Some piebald fawns are born with such serious health issues that they can’t survive for very long. When you know how extraordinary these creatures really are, spotting one in the wild becomes all the more special. We hope this woman’s piebald deer friend stops by for another visit soon! Multivitamins Could Help Save the Coral Reefs, New Research Shows

Could a multivitamin boost the health and resilience of coral reefs? Preliminary testing says that, like humans, these critical ecosystems rely on nutrients in the environment surrounding them. Researchers at the prestigious Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution (WHOI) have been lab testing nutrient-infused tiles to determine whether they would boost the immune system of corals, helping […] The post Multivitamins Could Help Save the Coral Reefs, New Research Shows appeared first on Good News Network.

Are Non-Human Intelligences in Control of Our Nuclear Fate?

One compelling hypothesis suggests that UAP sightings increase in times of heightened geopolitical tension, particularly when the threat of nuclear war intensifies. Over the past five years, as the Doomsday Clock ticks closer to midnight, reports of UFO activity have spiked. This pattern aligns with claims that NHIs are deeply concerned about the destructive potential of nuclear weapons, not just for humanity but for the planet itself. This theory posits that NHIs may possess the ability to monitor and even neutralize nuclear arsenals. Reports from military personnel have detailed incidents where UFOs allegedly hovered over nuclear silos, temporarily disabling the launch systems. Could this be a deliberate message: “We’re watching, and we won’t let you destroy your world”? Former US Air Force intercontinental ballistic missile launch officer Robert Salas has testified he was on duty at Malmstrom air force base in Montana on March 24, 1967, when an orange disc-shaped UFO briefly hovered over the front gate. The Great Nuclear Bluff? Another intriguing angle is the idea that nuclear weapons might not work as we believe they do. Some theorists argue that NHIs have rendered these weapons inoperable, perhaps through advanced technology or a fundamental suppression of nuclear capabilities. If true, this would explain the extraordinary secrecy surrounding nuclear arsenals and the geopolitical posturing that relies on their deterrence value. This could also account for the near-universal agreement among nuclear powers to prevent new nations from developing nuclear weapons. The sudden cessation of nuclear tests by major powers—since 1992 for the U.S. and 1990 for Russia—adds fuel to this speculation. If these weapons are, as some claim, “expensive paperweights,” their value lies more in perception than in practicality. Any public revelation of this truth could destabilize global power structures. The last confirmed nuclear test occurred in September 2017, when North Korea conducted its sixth nuclear detonation. If UFOs are indeed concerned about humanity’s use of nuclear weapons, why has their reported activity not intensified around North Korea, a state that remains openly defiant in its nuclear ambitions? One possibility is that UFOs may have initially been unaware of North Korea’s entry into the nuclear arena. North Korea’s relatively isolated position on the world stage could present a unique challenge, even for an extraterrestrial intelligence. Unlike during the Cold War, where nuclear tensions were centralized around two dominant powers, the multipolar and less predictable nature of today’s nuclear landscape might complicate their apparent strategy. This hypothesis not only expands the scope of the “nuclear connection” theory but also suggests that the actions—or inactions—of these unidentified entities may hinge on how they prioritize potential risks to humanity or the planet as a whole. If this is true, then North Korea’s nuclear program, though significant, might still be viewed as less immediately threatening than a full-scale nuclear standoff involving multiple superpowers. One peculiar incident often cited in these discussions is the 2018 ballistic missile alert in Hawaii, which turned out to be a false alarm. While the official explanation attributes this to human error, some believe it may have been a test of public response—or even a moment of actual intervention. If NHIs are monitoring nuclear capabilities, events like these could represent attempts to prevent accidents or send messages to governments that their actions are under scrutiny. First-hand accounts from military personnel lend further credibility to these ideas. An image of the alert erroneously sent to cellphones in Hawaii on 13 January 2018. New Players, Old Rules The entry of new nuclear powers, such as North Korea, into this delicate equation raises questions about how these dynamics play out on the global stage. If NHIs are indeed neutralizing nuclear capabilities, why would they allow tests by nations like North Korea? These tests might fly under the radar initially, only to prompt intervention later. Alternatively, established nuclear powers may act as intermediaries, enforcing the “rules” set by NHIs. Some analysts argue that the world’s great powers maintain a façade of unity when it comes to nuclear weapons precisely because the illusion of their functionality is vital to global stability. Any deviation from this narrative—such as a new nation exposing the ineffectiveness of nukes—could unravel decades of strategic posturing. The notion that NHIs are actively interfering with our nuclear capabilities leads to another question: Why? Some argue that NHIs have a vested interest in Earth’s ecosystems and may view humanity’s nuclear ambitions as a threat to their own existence. If they share our planet—whether underwater, underground, or even in parallel dimensions—they would have every reason to prevent a nuclear catastrophe that could jeopardize their habitats. Others suggest a more unsettling possibility: NHIs might see humanity as an experiment, and the prevention of nuclear war is a way to preserve their “investment.” This perspective portrays NHIs as coldly pragmatic, intervening not out of altruism but to ensure the survival of a resource they find valuable—whether it’s the planet’s biodiversity or humanity itself. If governments possess evidence of NHIs monitoring or interfering with nuclear sites, the public deserves to know. With the stakes so high, understanding the true nature of these interactions could offer a path to de-escalation and a future less burdened by the shadow of nuclear war. After the hearings yesterday, I was lucky enough to have a meeting with @RepNancyMace Initially the meeting was for me to ask questions, but instead, we chose to have her meet with my good friend Bob Salas, and @SteveBassett to further the conversation and really make change.… pic.twitter.com/HehqaiWNQX — Total Disclosure Podcast (@DisclosurePod) November 14, 2024 The post Are Non-Human Intelligences in Control of Our Nuclear Fate? appeared first on Anomalien.com.

Intel Core Ultra update to fix gaming CPU performance is coming, says new rumor

A new Intel Core Ultra update is coming that will address some of its disappointing performance issues, according to reports from a PC overclocker. The microcode update will apparently patch Intel’s brand-new gaming CPU lineup which, despite improved power consumption, has not provided good enough gaming performance. Despite the best efforts from Intel, the best gaming CPUs aren’t coming from its Arrow Lake launch lineup right now. As our Intel Core Ultra 7 265K review shows, the chip maker seems to have gone backwards, with the double whammy of both surprisingly poor performance and a high price making the whole Arrow Lake lineup a poor option for gamers, at least for the moment. Continue reading Intel Core Ultra update to fix gaming CPU performance is coming, says new rumor MORE FROM PCGAMESN: Core i5 14600K review, Best gaming CPU, Core i9 14900K review
