CNN was slammed online after a Sunday article advising parents to take their four-year-olds seriously when they say they are transgender. “If your kid just told you they’re trans, here’s what you should know,” the article’s headline reads. The article cites a Methodist pastor who said her four-year-old daughter told her that she “told God when I was a star in the sky that I was a boy, but God made me a girl.” The four-year-old had “preferred typical boys’ clothes, hairstyles and activities since preschool.” Another mother “gave birth to a baby she thought was a boy,” but the child “came out” as non-binary at age 8 and began identifying as a girl at age 10, the article says. That mother is now co-lead for the group Families United for Trans Rights. The article cites Nova Bright-Williams, a trans-identifying man at the Trevor Project, a nonprofit that says it works to prevent LGBT youth suicides. “One of the hardest things for us to do as parents is pause when that vision gets interrupted and really listen to what our kiddos are saying to us,” Bright-Williams said. Bright-Williams repeated the common claim that affirming children’s new gender identities helps prevent their suicides. Several recent studies have suggested that social transition does not necessarily improve children’s and teens’ mental health. “Rejecting them could not only cause hurt and anger but also could ruin chances of a long-term relationship,” the article warns. “Therefore, when your child tells you they’re trans, your first response should be to thank them for sharing and learning about their experience, Bright-Williams said. Say you want to get to know more about this part of who they are. Many X users mocked the left-leaning outlet for recommending parents take their small children’s gender identity declarations seriously. “Parenting advice from CNN⁩: if your 4-year-old starts talking about gender identity, you need to listen. To the four-year-old. Who is 4. Years old,” posted conservative commentator Joel Pollak. “My nieces are 4 years old. Guess what they want to do? Listen to Disney princesses and play with their toys. Why? BECAUSE THEY’RE 4 YEARS OLD,” posted another X user. Others said that ironically, they agreed with CNN that parents should listen if their children say they are transgender — they should listen so they can figure out how their kids were exposed to gender ideology. “If your [4-year-old] talks about gender identity, find out who has been talking to your [4-year-old] and stop it,” wrote one X user. “If they’re bringing it up, it’s because they’re being indoctrinated by it at school. Therefore it is time to go directly to the school and find out what is being taught because as we found out during covid, what we think is being taught and what is actually being taught are not the same,” wrote another user. The article also claims that it is “rare” for children to detransition, or stop identifying as transgender, and it promotes puberty blockers as a way to relieve children’s gender distress by “temporarily” pausing puberty. One parent realized that “withholding them would not be a neutral decision, since puberty is permanent — which could have negative consequences for a child who doesn’t identify with that body,” the article says. Puberty blockers can have profound effects on bone growth and density and cause sexual dysfunction, voice damage, and infertility, among other issues. GLAAD, which monitors LGBT media coverage, praised the article calling it a “must-read” and took the opportunity to chide The New York Times, which has published opinion articles skeptical of medical transition for children. “Take note, @NYTimes, this is how to report on trans youth accurately and without bias,” GLAAD posted on X.

At an event in early May titled “Debate: Israel’s War on Hamas is a Just War,” political commentator Briahna Joy Gray reacted to the harsh reception from the audience she got for her pro-Hamas arguments, reportedly saying, “It’s disgusting. I hope someone drops a bomb on this entire building.” Gray, cohost of The Hill’s Rising and former National Press Secretary for the Bernie Sanders 2020 presidential campaign, shared the stage with moderator Konstantin Kisin and fellow panelists Michael Moynihan, Eli Lake, and Jake Klein. During the debate, Gray insisted that the terrorist group Hamas, whose members have stated they intend to kill every Jew on the planet, has no interest in killing all the Jews in Israel, only wishing to establish a state “like what we have here in the United States.” “When Hamas is talking about eliminating Israel, it’s not talking about killing all the Jews … it’s about eliminating the idea of a Jewish state, ending a Jewish state, ending an ethno-national state, having a state or like what we have in the United States of America,” Gray claimed. And he has a lot more integrity than you do.  Your ‘forceful argument’ is just whitewashing Hamas. You treat them like they’re the safety patrol and they’re bloodthirsty rapists whose literal charter is to genocide all Jews.” Kisin then tweeted, “Oh, I don’t mind her jibe. She struggled on the night (stormed off crying, threw mic at the organisers after failing to answer a single question) and reading the comments on the video even pro-Palestine people were embarrassed by her behaviour. Over twenty Republican attorneys general are warning the American Bar Association that its diversity and inclusion standards may violate the Constitution.  Led by Tennessee Attorney General Jonathan Skrmetti, the Republican officials sent a letter Monday to the American Bar Association, the organization that accredits law schools across the country, saying that it needed to reconsider its diversity standards in light of the Supreme Court’s ruling on affirmative action. The letter said that the affirmative action decision “requires significant adjustments” to the bar association standards to make sure they aren’t treating law students and faculty differently based on race.  “The rule of law cannot long survive if the organization that accredits legal education requires every American law school to ignore the Constitution and civil rights law,” Skrmetti said. “The American Bar Association has long pursued the high calling of promoting respect for the law and the integrity of the legal profession, and we call on the organization to recommit to those ideals and ensure that its standards for law schools comport with federal law.”  A particular issue is the American Bar Association’s Standard 206 on diversity and inclusion.  The standard says that schools should demonstrate “a commitment to diversity and inclusion by providing full opportunities for the study of law and entry into the profession by members of underrepresented groups, particularly racial and ethnic minorities.” The standards are currently undergoing revisions, but the attorneys general said that the proposed alternatives still seemed to focus on race.  “While we support the Council’s willingness to modify Standard 206, the proposed revisions reemphasize Standard 206’s problematic requirement that law schools engage in race-based admissions and hiring,” they wrote. “We urge the Council to modify its standards in a way that comports with federal law and with the ABA’s purported commitment to set the legal and ethical foundation for the nation.” Skrmetti suggested that law schools across the country might be subject to civil rights lawsuits if they maintained their current diversity requirements.  CLICK HERE TO GET THE DAILYWIRE+ APP “If the standards continue to insist on treating students and faculty differently based on the color of their skin, they will burden every law school in America with punitive civil rights litigation,” he said.  The attorneys general of Alabama, Alaska, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Oklahoma, South Carolina, South Dakota, Texas, Utah, and Virginia all signed on to the lawsuit.  New York bar associations have already signaled they may attempt to bypass the SCOTUS affirmative action decision while the Wisconsin Bar Association agreed to a partial settlement earlier this year over a “diversity” internship program.

INTERVIEWER: What’s it like working with Matt Walsh? BAILIFF: It’s hard to make him laugh. INTERVIEWER: Have you tried to make him laugh? BAILIFF: Oh yeah, I’ve gotten him a couple times. He’s definitely Stonewall [Jackson].  INTERVIEWER: What’s the secret to getting Matt Walsh to laugh? BAILIFF: He likes being tickled. That, and calling him a silly goose. Gets him every time.  INTERVIEWER: How did you get the position of bailiff for the Honorable Judge Walsh? BAILIFF: Well, I served six years watching YouTube videos about being a bailiff. And then I went to three different army surplus stores and kind of got familiar with the equipment. INTERVIEWER: Sounds very qualified. BAILIFF: Oh, yeah. Definitely, definitely qualified. INTERVIEWER: Well, we know that Matt Walsh is the most qualified judge in America, so I’m assuming he wouldn’t hire someone who isn’t qualified. BAILIFF: Absolutely. I mean Matt Walsh is the most qualified to do his job. I actually got a fishing license and a concealed carry license, so I’m pretty qualified myself.  INTERVIEWER: The court hearings can get pretty crazy at points. Have you had to protect the judge from any crazy people yet?  BAILIFF: No. I think I do a good job at instilling fear and order in the courtroom. INTERVIEWER: Is that what you want to be known as: a person who instills fear? Or do you want to be known as someone who has fun? BAILIFF: I’m all about being silly, but I will do anything I can to protect Judge Matt. INTERVIEWER: What’s been the craziest conflict in the courtroom so far? BAILIFF: There were a couple instances where the plaintiff and the defendant got a little rowdy. But we were able to restore order in the court pretty quickly.  INTERVIEWER: Do you think people fear you more, or Judge Walsh more? BAILIFF: They should fear [Judge Walsh] more. …I’m the enforcer. I’m the muscle.  INTERVIEWER: In one episode, you start speaking Korean. Are you fluent in Korean? BAILIFF: Am I fluent? Yes, I am fluent in Korean. North and South.  INTERVIEWER: Are you fluent in any other languages? BAILIFF: I know Spanish and Pig Latin. Right now I’m learning Swahili.  INTERVIEWER: Why did you learn Korean? BAILIFF: They opened a Korean restaurant by my house. And I was having a hard time ordering so I decided to take on Korean so that it was easier. INTERVIEWER: Do you have any conflicts that you would take before Judge Walsh? BAILIFF: No, he’s already solved all my problems.  INTERVIEWER: What’s your relationship like with Judge Walsh? Do you talk in the back of the courtroom? BAILIFF: We have a pair of walkie-talkies that have a 100-mile radius. Whenever I’m within 100 miles of him, I ask if he can hear me. That’s how we keep our communication so it can’t be traced. INTERVIEWER: Does he chat a lot? BAILIFF: Over the walkie-talkies, yeah, but we don’t talk over the phone because people could be listening.  INTERVIEWER: What do you talk about? BAILIFF: Oh, different things… the weather, fishing, aliens. We talk about aliens all the time.  INTERVIEWER: Do you have any desire to go to another court, or do you think you’ve reached the pinnacle here? BAILIFF: I mean, there’s no other court to go to. Matt Walsh is the most qualified judge, probably in the world. And being a part of this court is a complete honor. I would do this over anything else. INTERVIEWER: What if I said you could be a Secret Service agent tomorrow for Donald Trump?
