Joseph Tegerdine, the teen who made headlines after a Ford CEO gifted him a special drive in a Mustang Dark Horse, has lost his battle with cancer. Joseph’s father, Joe, shared the heartbreaking news on November 22 in an X post, saying, “Words cannot express the depth of grief that he has moved on, nor the tremendous joy that he is no longer suffering.”  “I look forward to the day that he and I will be able to run and jump and play together again,” he added. “I appreciate all of the love and support we received from the ? community.” I awoke to Joseph’s shallow breathing at 02:50 this morning, it’s something we’ve been expecting for months. A large group of Orange County, California kids were playing when they observed a huge saucer-shaped craft with being in the windows. Some mythical creatures originate in tradition and tales from the distant past. However, each culture is associated with a multitude of interesting and odd creatures, many of these beings are humanoids. One of these legendary humanoids is the Basajaun.In Basque mythology, the Basajaunak is a spirit that dwells in caves or in the woods protects flocks of livestock, and teaches skills such as agriculture and ironworking to humans. They are collectively known as the 'Basajaun, the Lords of the Forests.' Fifteenth-century carvings depicting the Basajaunak can be seen in Burgos Cathedral and in the monastery of Santa María la Real in Nájera. The Basajaun also exists in Aragonese mythology in the valleys of Tena, Ansó, and Broto. There are writings about these 'simiots' of Spain's Catalunya and Upper Aragon - creatures that may well find their U.S. counterparts in the Bigfoot or Sasquatch.These creatures are of various heights (though most are very tall), completely covered in hair with a long mane that falls to the knees, and wander the Pyrenees with incredible agility. They were said to be megalith builders and became known as rural genies.The legend says that long ago, only the Basajauns knew how to plant, harvest, and mill wheat to make flour. The Basajauns kept this knowledge to themselves, but one Basque man worked out a plan to steal the secret and give it to the human race. The Basque man made a bet with the Basajauns to see who could jump over the heaps of wheat they had harvested.The Basajauns laughed at the Basque man because they knew that a mere human would be no competition for them, and they laughed at his big floppy shoes. They all jumped over the wheat easily, but when the Basque man tried, he landed on top of one of the heaps, and the Basajauns laughed again.Then the Basque man laughed, and he laughed last and best, but quietly, because his trick had worked. Now, the Basajauns are big and slow-witted, but when they saw the Basque man walking away home, with his big, floppy shoes full of grains of their wheat, they realized that they had been tricked. When they stopped laughing, the Basque man began to run for his life, and it's a good thing that he did. He was already far away when one of the Basajauns threw a hatchet. The lords of the woods may be slow, but they are strong.The Basque man saw the hatchet coming, and he ducked behind a chestnut tree just in time, because the hatchet struck the tree and split it in half. Now the Basque man had the seeds, but he didn't know when was the right time of the year to sow them. Fortunately, a man was passing by the cave of one of the Basajauns, and he heard him singing:"If the humans knew this songThey'd be well informed.When the leaf is in the budThen you sow the corn.When the leaf falls off the treesThen you sow the wheat.When the February feast comes roundSow the turnip in the ground."The man told the Basque man what he heard, and the Basque man told all the humans, and that is how cultivation spread through the world.Another part of the legend states that the Basajaun is the protective spirit of the flocks. It shouts in the mountains when a storm approaches so that the shepherds may withdraw their sheep. By lurking around a pen or its surroundings, it keeps the wolves from approaching. The Basajaun's presence is announced by the sheep who, shake and ring the bells around their necks. Another eyewitness account mentions a sighting of a young Basajaun basking in the sun at the opening to the Mailuxe cave and then added da escription of this creature as being blond.In June 1993, a group of cave explorers allegedly encountered a Basajaun-like creature in the ruins of a church in the Catalan Pyrenees of Spain. The 'wild man' was described as standing 5 ft. tall and bulky, covered in shaggy hair, and making a sound that resembled an enraged cat. Earlier this month, after almost four years of the Biden-Harris administration’s weakness, Americans voted overwhelmingly for the return of former President Donald Trump’s determined leadership. Nowhere is that leadership needed more than in the Middle East, where the aftershocks of Hamas’ Oct. 7, 2023, attack on Israel continue to reverberate—not only in the region but here at home. Trump left office in 2021, having just sealed the first peace deals between Israel and Muslim-majority countries in 25 years. This success stemmed from a policy that combined unequivocal support for the Jewish state with consistent and constructive outreach to America’s Arab partners and allies. The result was peace. After Iran significantly expanded its sponsorship of its terrorist proxies funded by the Obama-era nuclear deal, America’s deadliest regional foe was being crushed by the most aggressive unilateral economic sanctions regime in history. Four years later, Trump is inheriting a Middle East on the brink of regional war. Israel is under sustained attack by Iran’s proxies Hezbollah, Hamas, and the Houthis—and for the first time, by Iran directly. Iran’s malign interference has also created failed states from Lebanon and Syria to Iraq and Yemen. Meanwhile, Iran’s economy is strengthened by a 25-year, $400 billion agreement with China, its new patron. Israel’s attempt to defend itself against these threats has been undermined by the timid and equivocal approach of the Biden-Harris administration. This White House has insisted on restraint and urged a negotiated ceasefire with the terrorist groups while threatening to withhold vital military resupply if Israel doesn’t prosecute the war as instructed. But as President Ronald Reagan demonstrated in countering the Soviet Union’s aggression in the Middle East after the 1980 election, decisive and principled American leadership could reverse even a severe regional decline. That is what Americans are looking for—and what the world needs—from Trump. But simply reimposing the successful policies of his first term, however much they might improve on the Biden-Harris record, will not be enough to correct the course. Reestablishing deterrence against Iran, bolstering Israel’s defenses, and getting back on track to even more significant regional peace deals will require a fresh approach. The first problem Trump will have to confront is that the crisis in the Middle East is not staying there—it is also here in the United States. Immediately after the Oct. 7 attack, pro-Hamas and antisemitic riots started on American streets and campuses, revealing an entrenched hatred of Jews and Israel that will demand the new president’s attention. By moving the State Department’s special envoy to monitor and combat antisemitism to the White House and giving this critical appointment a domestic as well as international remit, Trump could be the first president to address the issue holistically by having his senior official for antisemitism connected to both the National Security Council and the Domestic Policy Council staffs.
