The start of this Memorial Day tribute video shows different quotes across the screen from Presidents through the years that have addressed the men and women who have lost their lives while serving the United States of America. Their words are poignant and powerful. GOP Lawmakers Introduce Bill To Extend Taxpayer Benefits To Americans Serving In The Israeli Defense Forces

Two Republican lawmakers have introduced legislation to extend taxpayer benefits typically reserved for uniformed servicemembers in the U.S. military to Americans serving in the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF). “Rep. Guy Reschenthaler (R-PA) and Rep. Max Miller (R-OH) have introduced a bill that would extend the same taxpayer benefits to Americans serving in the IDF as if they were serving in the US military!” Michael Tracey wrote. “For purposes of this chapter, to the extent practicable, the service of a citizen of the United States in the Israeli Defense Forces shall be treated in the same manner as service in the uniformed services,” the bill reads. Guy Reschenthaler’s office stated in a press release: The SCRA provides members on active-duty status with financial management safeguards such as rental agreements, security deposits, evictions, installment contracts, credit card interest rates, mortgages, civil judicial proceedings, and income tax payments, among others. The USERRA prohibits employment discrimination based on an individual’s prior service in the uniformed services, current service in the uniformed services, or intent to join the uniformed services. “Two GOP reps have introduced a bill to extend benefits reserved for US govt servicemembers to US citizens serving in the IDF. Our own servicemembers are struggling but the GOP wants to give their benefits away to troops serving in a foreign army!” Information Liberation publisher Chris Menahan wrote. Yes, you read that correctly. The House GOP is introducing a bill that will extend SCRA benefits to ‘Americans’ serving in the IDF,” another X user commented. “You’d think that the GOP would be addressing veteran homelessness, which has increased by 7.4%, or the fact that the people who served OUR country can’t get proper care. You’d also think that the $3.8 billion/year we send Israel would cover the benefits of Americans who signed up to serve in their military. But nope, you’d be wrong,” she added. The woman was fired from her job at Ohio Right to Life — where Miller’s wife Elizabeth Marbach works as a communications director — just days later. STUDY: Fluoride Exposure In Pregnancy Linked To Behavioral Problems In Young Children?

A new study suggests pregnant women exposed to high fluoride levels have an increased risk of having children with behavioral problems. According to the New York Post, the research suggested children in the womb exposed to higher amounts of fluoride “were more likely to experience temper tantrums, headaches, stomachaches, anxiety and symptoms linked to autism.” Fluoride in pregnancy may harm child’s brain development: study https://t.co/PG1Rw9qAwf pic.twitter.com/RdcYfPuGVt — New York Post (@nypost) May 20, 2024 From the New York Post: “Exposure to fluoride during pregnancy does not mean that a child will experience greater neurobehavioral problems,” senior study author Tracy Bastain, an associate professor of clinical population and public health sciences at the University of Southern California’s Keck School of Medicine, told The Post. “We found an association between higher prenatal exposure and more neurobehavioral problems at age 3 but more studies are needed to establish a causal link,” she explained. Data for the study came from USC’s MADRES Center for Environmental Health Disparities. MADRES follows predominantly Hispanic families in Los Angeles from pregnancy throughout childhood. Researchers calculated fluoride exposure from urine samples collected from 229 pregnant moms during their third trimester. Fluoride in the water linked to anxiety, temper problems and headaches in children as young as three, with experts claiming exposure high levels in pregnancy could be a 'risk to the developing brain' https://t.co/jqjCcbLNxk pic.twitter.com/nHIiwJ7YxM — Daily Mail Online (@MailOnline) May 20, 2024 The study authors said children whose mothers had higher levels of fluoride were 83% more likely to show “internalizing” behavioral problems. WATCH: CBS LOS ANGELES – "A just-released University of Southern California study found that pregnant women exposed to fluoride have an increased risk of their child demonstrating behavioral problems." pic.twitter.com/ql7m5SjGvM — Fluoride Action Network (@FluorideAction) May 21, 2024 Per Daily Mail: It isn’t clear what caused some women in the study to have higher fluoride levels than others. Drinking tap water versus filtered, consumption of certain foods and use of some dental products are potential causes of increased fluoride exposure. Lead investigator Ashley Malin, an assistant professor in epidemiology at the University of Florida College of Public Health, said their findings suggested a relationship between fluoride exposure and foetal brain development. ‘There is no known benefit of fluoride consumption to the developing foetus, but we do know that there is possibly a risk to their developing brain,’ she said. ‘We found that each 0.68 milligram per litre increase in fluoride levels in the pregnant women’s urine was associated with nearly double the odds of children scoring in the clinical or borderline clinical range for neurobehavioral problems at age 3, based on their mother’s reporting.’ She added the findings were concerning and hoped they would inspire policymakers to create specific recommendations for fluoride exposure in pregnancy. ‘Conducting a nationwide US study on this topic would be important, but I think the findings of the current study and recent studies from Canada and Mexico suggest that there is a real concern here,’ she said. As 100 Percent Fed Up has noted, some local governments have taken action to cease fluoridating their water supply due to the detrimental health risks of fluoride.  City Council Votes To Cease Water Fluoridation North Carolina County Votes To Ban Fluoride From Water Supply, Concerned Residents Cite Study Showing Adverse Effects On Children The research was published Monday in JAMA Network Open.

Revolutionizing the Fast Food Industry: The Rise and Fall of Burger King in America

As the iconic American burger joint, Burger King has long been a staple in the fast food industry. However, recent news of multiple franchise closures across the country has sparked concern and curiosity among consumers. How did a once thriving brand fall from grace? Let's delve deeper into the rise and fall of Burger King in America. At its peak, Burger King had over 13,000 restaurants in the United States. Its signature flame-grilled burgers and famous slogan, "Have it your way," were a hit with customers. But as competition grew and consumer tastes evolved, the brand struggled to keep up. This led to a downward spiral that ultimately led to the closure of over 200 stores in the past year alone. Burger King announced that it is shutting down 400 US locations due to low sales and intense pressure from competitors like McDonald’s & Chipotle. “26 restaurants will be closing in the metro Detroit area alone.” pic.twitter.com/7CDEmhh6mA — Black Millionaires ® (@Blackmillions_) May 7, 2023 The decline of Burger King can be attributed to a combination of factors. One of the main issues was the brand's lack of innovation. While competitors like McDonald's and Wendy's constantly introduced new menu items, Burger King stuck to their tried and tested offerings. This resulted in a stagnant menu and a lack of excitement for customers. Another major factor was the rise of healthier eating trends. As more and more people became health-conscious, the high-calorie, greasy options at Burger King were no longer as appealing. The brand's attempts to introduce healthier options like salads and grilled chicken sandwiches fell short in comparison to other fast food chains' healthier offerings. THE KING IS DEAD: Construction crews are razing the former Evanston Burger King building on Orrington Ave. The franchise location opened in May 1976, according to The Daily Northwestern. An 11-story office building will replace the fast food restaurant. @NNN_News pic.twitter.com/sYy4uz6oGc — Andrew Rowan (@andrewrowan128) October 31, 2022 Additionally, Burger King's franchise system proved to be problematic. Franchise owners had to pay high fees and adhere to strict standards set by the corporation. This led to tension and disputes, with some owners opting to shut down their restaurants rather than continue to operate under such conditions. Despite these challenges, Burger King remains determined to turn things around. In a statement, the company announced plans to revamp its menu, improve its customer service, and focus on expanding internationally. They also plan to implement a new marketing strategy to regain their foothold in the market. However, many remain skeptical about the brand's chances of making a comeback. With the COVID-19 pandemic wreaking havoc on the fast food industry, Burger King's road to recovery may be even more challenging. Other issues such as controversies surrounding their treatment of workers and sustainability practices also add to the brand's struggles. In conclusion, the decline of Burger King in America serves as a cautionary tale for other fast food giants. It highlights the importance of adaptability and staying ahead of changing consumer trends. Only time will tell if the brand can successfully reinvent itself and reclaim its position as a leader in the fast food industry. What are YOUR thoughts? We want to hear from you! Woman Builds Incredible Lego House & Her Dogs Are Thrilled

One dog mom built her four-legged friends the best house ever made entirely of LEGO bricks, and the internet can’t get enough of it! She shared the cutest clip of her large pooch excitedly walking in and out through the entrance. To give you a better idea of how big this LEGO house really is, there was room inside the structure for the woman’s partner as well as the massive dog. It was also strong enough to withstand the pup’s wildly swinging tail! A few commenters had some questions about the building process. How long did it take to construct a LEGO dog house that large? How many pieces did she use? According to the creator’s replies, she spent three weeks building this masterpiece. As for how many bricks it took, she had no idea. @lettaquince My Big Girl ♬ Who Let The Dogs Out – Original – The Doggies “I don’t know how many pieces, I keep trying to find someone to count them for me cause it just drives me nuts lol,” she wrote. There’s room for more than one dog in this LEGO house. Screengrab from TikTok You’ll notice that, on the other end of the LEGO dog house, there’s another, smaller entrance. It’s clearly way too small for the large pooch in the video! However, it turns out that there’s more than one pup using the space. In another post, the creator included some awesome interior shots of her smaller dog getting comfy in the house. For a building made of plastic blocks, it looks pretty cozy in there! There’s a thick carpet on the ground and lots of blankets. Screengrab from TikTok Unfortunately, other people have been uploading footage of this woman’s LEGO dog house on social media and claiming that her husband or partner built it. However, according to all of her content, she created the structure herself. It looks like her pets really love having their own little house!
