FBI Dir. Wray and DHS Secretary Mayorkas Refuse to Testify Publicly

FBI Director Wray and Department of Homeland Security Secretary Mayorkas refused to testify publicly before the Senate regarding threats to our national security and border vulnerabilities. We don’t have a president, an FBI, or a Homeland Security Chief who is answerable to the people. Committee Chairman Gary Peters said Mayorkas and Wray’s refusal to appear is […] The post FBI Dir. GOP Freshman Taking Over Office His Great Grandfather Occupied Nearly A Century Ago

Incoming GOP Freshman Tom Barrett celebrated the bipartisanship from members of Congress after he was able to take over the same office his great grandfather occupied nearly a century ago. Earlier this week, the Republican — who flipped Michigan’s 7th Congressional District seat left open from Democrat Elissa Slotkin — sent out a letter to his new colleagues ahead of the freshmen lottery held in Congress that determines a new Representative’s office space, The Hill reported. “I’ve shared with several of you that my great-grandfather, Louis Rabaut from Michigan, served here in Congress and was first elected 90 years ago in 1934,” the letter from Barrett, posted on social media, read. “He died in office in 1961, long before I was born, so I never had the opportunity to meet him or ask him about his time in Congress, but his legacy is something my whole family is very proud of,” it added, noting that his family member occupied three different spaces in the Longworth House Office building. We got it! Appreciate everyone who followed along and showed their support. Thank you to my Freshman colleagues, Republicans AND Democrats, who were kind enough to allow me to select the office once occupied by my great grandfather. https://t.co/yKSDOJUcmu — Tom Barrett (@tombarrettmi7) November 21, 2024 “If one or more of them become available I would deeply appreciate it if you could afford me the opportunity to select one of them,” Barrett’s letter continued. “Perhaps 90 years from now one of your descendants will be asking their colleagues to hold your office available for them to occupy.” A while later, Barrett confirmed he had indeed gotten one of the spaces and was very appreciative to his colleagues. MATT WALSH’S ‘AM I RACIST?’ NOW STREAMING ON DAILYWIRE+ “We got it! I appreciate everyone who followed along and showed their support,” Barrett wrote on X. “Thank you to my Freshmen colleagues, Republicans AND Democrats, who were kind enough to allow me to select the office once occupied by my great grandfather,” he added. Hours earlier Barrett shared a photo on his X account talking about his experience at orientation. “As New Member Orientation comes to a close, I wanted to congratulate my friend and future colleague, @lisaforcongress, on becoming Chair of the House Republican Conference,” the Congressmen-elect wrote. “She will be a fierce leader for the @HouseGOP and I look forward to working with her to return meaningful results for our state and our country.” He also made a post with a picture of the freshmen class on the steps of the Capitol that read, “Freshman class photo of the 119th Congress.”

Bob Casey Concedes Election To Dave McCormick

Sen. Bob Casey (D-PA) announced Thursday evening that he has conceded the Senate race to Republican Dave McCormick after contesting the results of the election for two weeks. McCormick beat Casey by a narrow margin, just a little over 16,000 votes, according to the latest figures from the Associated Press. The margin was well within the 0.5% margin required to trigger an automatic recount. “I just called Dave McCormick to congratulate him on his election to represent Pennsylvania in the United States Senate,” Casey said in the statement. “As the first count of ballots is completed, Pennsylvanians can move forward with the knowledge that their voices were heard, whether their vote was the first to be counted or the last.” “This race was one of the closest in our Commonwealth’s history, decided by less than a quarter of a point,” he added. “I am grateful to the thousands of people who worked to make sure every eligible vote cast could be counted, including election officials in all 67 counties.” During my time in office, I have been guided by an inscription on the Finance Building in Harrisburg: “All public service is a trust, given in faith and accepted in honor.” Thank you for your trust in me for all these years, Pennsylvania. It has been the honor of my lifetime. pic.twitter.com/RSXEFwdge8 — Bob Casey Jr. (@Bob_Casey) November 21, 2024 McCormick’s victory in the state was one of several seats that Republicans flipped this cycle that gave the party a 53-47 majority in Congress’ upper chamber for the 119th Congress. MATT WALSH’S ‘AM I RACIST?’ NOW STREAMING ON DAILYWIRE+ Senator-elect McCormick thanked Casey for his “career to bettering our commonwealth.” “Dina and I want to extend our sincere gratitude to Senator Casey, Terese, and their family for their decades of service, hard work, and personal sacrifice,” he said. “I am so honored to represent every single citizen in Pennsylvania in the United States Senate and will fight for you every day. Thank you!”
