Garth Brooks’ Key To Maintaining A Happy Relationship With Trisha Yearwood: “Stop & Think Before B*tching”
Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood have been together for almost two decades.
The country music superstars tied the knot in 2005, and it's been a happily ever after story ever since. Well, that is up until the recent sexual assault allegations have been thrown at Garth Brooks, who has been accused of rape and sexual misconduct on multiple occasions by one of his former makeup artists.
Garth's accuser also claims that she was asked by Brooks to have a threesome with Garth and Trisha.
Prior to this scandal (if you can call it that, since Garth is innocent until proven guilty), Brooks and Yearwood were viewed as the ideal, inseparable celebrity couple. And for the most part, they still are - though Garth was noticeably absent from Trisha's recent White House performance. The "Friends In Low Places" singer is probably just trying to lay low while all of this potential controversy swirls around him.
That being said, Brooks recently sat down with The Saturday Evening Post to talk a little bit about he and Yearwood's relationship. Garth was asked if they ever butt heads, considering they've historically appeared to be such a happy and perfect couple. The country music star explained that there is almost a science to getting along with your spouse:
"You have to see yourself through the eyes of who you’re living with. If you stop and think before b*tching, maybe you’ll say, 'It’s what I’ve done to her a thousand times.' So instead, you go, 'How do we fix this?'
Sometimes the answers don’t come immediately. But every good answer is worth the time it takes to get there. I have a lot of miles left to go and a lot of lessons to learn, but my book is open and I’m taking notes."
Sounds like Garth Brooks has the husband thing down pat.
It sounds like Brooks and Yearwood have a very healthy relationship, and they'll certainly need to be on the same page as they move forward in the fight against Garth's allegations. From the very beginning, Garth has maintained his innocence, and it’s clear that he’s doing everything in his power to clear his name. He released this statement initially after saying he refused to pay out hush money to his accuser:
“For the last two months, I have been hassled to no end with threats, lies, and tragic tales of what my future would be if I did not write a check for many millions of dollars. It has been like having a loaded gun waved in my face. Hush money, no matter how much or how little, is still hush money. In my mind, that means I am admitting to behavior I am incapable of – ugly acts no human should ever do to another.
We filed suit against this person nearly a month ago to speak out against extortion and defamation of character. We filed it anonymously for the sake of families on both sides. I want to play music tonight. I want to continue our good deeds going forward. It breaks my heart these wonderful things are in question now. I trust the system, I do not fear the truth, and I am not the man they have painted me to be.”
Since the lawsuit was filed, Garth has wrapped up his Las Vegas residency for the year, taking some time off before starting back up in 2025.
And to be clear, Garth’s wife Trisha has stood by him every step of the way through this process. Shortly after the lawsuit and allegations hit the internet, Yearwood shared this photo of her and husband with the caption:
“Love one another.”
