Three Men Under Consideration to Head Up the Secret Service

Susan Crabtree reports that Sean Curran, a longtime agent on Trump’s protective detail, is under consideration to become the Secret Service Director. Mr. Curran is in the iconic photo of Trump with his fist in the air after being shot in Butler, Pennsylvania. He is to the right in the photo pictured below. FEMA Chief To Face Two House Grillings In One Day

A second House committee announced Tuesday that FEMA Director Deanne Criswell would be questioned on guidance issued from a now-fired supervisor for relief workers in Florida to “avoid homes advertising Trump.” The House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure said that Criswell would be grilled next Tuesday on guidance from FEMA employee Marn’i Washington for workers in Lake Placid to skip homes with Trump flags or signs. The guidance was first reported on by The Daily Wire last week, prompting a flurry of investigations at the federal and state level. The probe from the Transportation Committee will be led by members of the Subcommittee on Economic Development, Public Buildings, and Emergency Management. The subcommittee said Tuesday that it expanded its probe of “troubling reports that emergency aid was not reaching disaster victims” after recent hurricanes into the guidance advising workers to skip Trump homes. “More recently, additional reports have surfaced that some FEMA officials may have de-prioritized assisting homes displaying Trump for President campaign signs. Subcommittee Members will have the opportunity to raise these issues and others at next week’s hearing,” the committee said in a statement. Criswell’s appearance before the subcommittee will come before she goes to the House Oversight Committee to testify. MATT WALSH’S ‘AM I RACIST?’ NOW STREAMING ON DAILYWIRE+ Oversight Chair James Comer (R-KY) indicated that the committee would ask Criswell about Washington’s Tuesday interview with Roland Martin, where she claimed FEMA has a widespread policy of avoiding “politically hostile” homes. She said that FEMA’s suggestion that she made an independent decision to avoid certain homes is a mischaracterization, stating that it is agency policy. “FEMA always preaches avoidance first and then de-escalation, so this is not isolated,” Washington said. “This is a colossal event of avoidance not just in the state of Florida, but you will find avoidance in the Carolinas.” “Senior leadership will lie to you and tell you that they do not know,” Washington added. Federal and state investigations have been launched into FEMA to probe its policies for providing aid. FEMA has not responded to allegations from Washington, and did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

How Kamala’s Focus On Gender Ideology Cost Her The Election

How Kamala’s Focus On Gender Ideology Cost Her The Election

Imagine being a strategist for the Democrat Party right now. You’re tasked with conducting a post-mortem analysis of an election in which virtually every single demographic group in the country, in all 50 states, turned very sharply against you. Tens of millions of Americans ignored the endorsements of modern-day oracles like Taylor Swift and Queen Latifah and voted for the candidate you’ve been calling a Hitler-loving “threat to democracy.” How do you even begin to catalog all of the various failures that led your party to this point?  Up until now, the prevailing excuse in the Democrat Party has been pretty clear. As I’ve outlined before, many Democrats are happy to dismiss the entire country as racist and sexist. In fact, Hispanics are apparently racist against themselves. This is the kind of theory you come up with when you don’t want to actually talk to Hispanic people, or be anywhere near them for that matter. But you have to find some way to explain why they might want to build a wall and enforce the law, so you conclude that they must hate themselves. That must be it. At the same time, there is at least one Democrat-aligned group that’s taking a different and more serious approach. I’m talking about something called Blueprint, which I hadn’t heard of until a day ago. Blueprint describes itself as a “vital tool” that can help Democrats win elections in the future. This is a Left-wing group that basically tries to craft messaging for the DNC. Over the past week, Blueprint has employed pollsters and strategists to figure out how Democrats lost so badly on Election Day. They’ve been tasked with sifting through the wreckage to identify what caused the implosion. And what they’ve found is remarkable. Even given all the endless polls and analysis we’ve been subjected to this month, this one stands out. I hadn’t seen these results until Charlie Kirk pointed them out the other day, in a post on X. He posted this chart of Blueprint’s findings. It shows all the issues that voters cared about in this election, ranked by their level of relative importance. They calculated this by asking voters to compare a bunch of issues, in a kind of round-robin analysis. Chart courtesy: Blueprint2024.com. As you can see, there are a lot of issues on that list. Voters had many options to choose from. And according to Blueprint’s findings, swing voters who ultimately voted for Trump — meaning, the people who determined the outcome of this election — were very unhappy with Kamala Harris’ focus on transgender issues. In fact, Kamala’s views on topics like transgenderism, at the expense of substantive issues, was the number-one, most important issue on these swing voters’ minds. Just so we’re clear on the terms, Blueprint defines a “swing voter” as: those who are undecided in the presidential race, have changed their voting preference since 2020 (voting Democrat in one election and Republican in the other), or are independents who either indicate they split their votes between Democrats and Republicans, or who hold either favorable or unfavorable views of both Trump and Harris. If you go to Blueprint’s crosstabs, here’s what they found specifically about this group of voters. Among swing voters who ultimately voted for Trump, the top reason for voting for Trump over Kamala was: Kamala Harris is focused more on cultural issues like transgender issues rather than helping the middle class. That was the single most important issue for these swing voters, relative to all the others. The next most important issue was inflation, followed closely by illegal migration. This is a finding that, if you had floated it as a possibility prior to the election, would’ve gotten you laughed out of the room. But now that Democrats realize that most voters think they’re crazy, they’re finally talking about it. Democrat-aligned pollsters are openly recognizing that transgenderism — including the associated government policies that have been championed by trans activists and the Biden-Harris administration — is a massive problem for the Democrat Party. WATCH: The Ben Shapiro Show And yet, this is a problem that — certainly at least in a pre-”What Is A Woman?” world — very few Republicans wanted to touch. In fact, plenty of Republicans still don’t want to talk about this. It’s an issue that for years I was personally ridiculed for pursuing, including by many on the Right. Even among people who believe we’re on the correct side of the whole debate, a lot of them still said it was a waste of time to talk about it. These people think that so-called “culture war issues” are a side show. They’re “irrelevant distractions,” supposedly. But they aren’t. Culture is everything. It’s the stuff that a nation is made of. And that matters politically. People vote for culture. People don’t just vote based on candidates’ personalities, or on specific proposals. They vote for the country they want to live in. And now, a critical mass of those voters have decided that they don’t want to live in a country that can’t even define the word “woman.” To be clear, this result isn’t saying that transgenderism was at the top of voters’ minds all by itself. Instead, what this result reveals is that trans issue is about much more than just transgenderism. It’s symptomatic of something larger and deeper. Voters see the trans agenda as an assault on truth and basic common sense, which is exactly what it is. It’s a destructive set of beliefs that serves only to derail human progress while harming a lot of people. Trans ideology requires that Americans affirm what is not true and reject objective reality, on the theory that this is somehow the more “humane” approach. But there’s nothing humane or sustainable about lying — especially when the point of the lying is to obscure something as fundamental as human biology and human nature. If you tolerate lies about that, then you will tolerate lies about anything.  If a white guy wants to identify as black, then you can’t object.  If a politician wants to claim that crime is down when it’s clearly not, then you can’t complain about that, either.  If the government wants to claim the economy is doing fine when no one can find a job or afford groceries, then you have to shut up and take it. Once reality is subjective, you can’t communicate anymore in any meaningful way, much less fix problems. All you can do is spiral down further and further into delusions. Trans ideology is built on the premise that we all have our own truth. That there is no objective reality or universal truth that we are all expected to acknowledge. MATT WALSH’S ‘AM I RACIST?’ NOW STREAMING ON DAILYWIRE+ If we accept trans ideology, we accept this premise. And if we accept this premise, we have tacitly accepted every other Left-wing premise, because now we have no basis to deny any of it. We cannot call anything untrue. Now there is nothing that can be called untrue. Which means there is also nothing that can be called true. This is the fundamental reason why the fight against trans ideology matters. It’s the case that some of us have been making for many years, even against the objections of our own side. But now the voters see it and agree. And it’s one of the main reasons why Democrats were just obliterated in the election. The Trump campaign understood that this issue would resonate with voters. That’s why they released this ad, which may have been the single most effective ad in the entire campaign. In fact it may be one of the best ads ever produced by a political campaign. Watch:   When she spoke to Fox News — in the only hostile interview she participated in during the entire campaign — Kamala was asked directly about this ad. She had the opportunity to disavow all of this nonsense. She could’ve admitted that it was a terrible idea to use taxpayer money to fund sex changes for illegals, or for anyone else. She could’ve acknowledged that people can’t change their gender or pick their pronouns. She also could’ve laid out a clear definition of the word “woman” — which is a pretty important word to define, since she was campaigning to be the first woman president. In other words, Kamala had the opportunity to do what the African tribesmen did when I spoke to them in “What is a Woman?“. She could have laughed in the face of this absurdity, as anyone with common sense would do. She could have demonstrated to Americans that she’s not going to surrender the federal government to a small number of radical, anti-truth activists. But Kamala didn’t do any of that. Instead, here’s how she addressed this ad when Bret Baier brought it up: So she mocks the Trump campaign for spending so much money on the ad. This is the candidate whose campaign raised a billion dollars and ended up in debt by tens of millions of dollars because they hired a bunch of celebrity influencers who, it turns out, have no influence. Yet she’s lecturing the Trump campaign on how they should’ve spent their money. Maybe the Trump campaign should’ve gone bankrupt in order to get Megan Thee Stallion to twerk on stage. That strategy obviously worked out so well for Kamala. And then Kamala goes on to dismiss the whole issue as unimportant. She claims that Americans don’t really care about all of this trans stuff. But they do. They care about it because they care about truth. And they care about truth because if you don’t have that, literally nothing else matters. Already, there are some signs that Left-wing media is coming around, ever so begrudgingly, to this reality. Here’s Joe Scarborough, for example. You can imagine how well this monologue went over among the various LGBTQ alphabet activist groups and publications. The Advocate, for example, wrote an entire article attacking Scarborough for this. They stated that,  “If you voted for Donald Trump and against Kamala Harris because you had something against the trans community, you were beyond an outlier. You were not even a blip on the radar. So why are people like Joe and Mika callously targeting the trans community for Harris’s loss? And why are they doing it so brazenly? Instead of discussing the real reasons why Harris lost to Trump, they trash innocent human beings. The most vulnerable in society.” So again, they assume this is a fringe issue, when it’s obviously not. They think voters who are tired of trans nonsense are a “blip on the radar.” But the truth is — as this Blueprint poll demonstrates — Americans don’t want to affirm lies anymore. They are tired of having their culture held hostage by these people. It doesn’t matter how much you try to berate these voters for “trashing innocent human beings” or whatever. Something is either true or it’s not. Affirming the truth is not “trashing” anyone. It’s the bare minimum necessary to ensure that society can continue to function. On CNN, they still haven’t come around to this realization. Instead, they just hosted a live on-air struggle session after a guest pointed out that Americans don’t like the idea of boys competing in women’s sports. Watch:   Yes, it’s now a “slur” to refer to a boy as a boy. If a 12-year-old boy says he feels like a girl, you don’t get to substitute your bigoted opinions for the well-informed judgment of a preteen. Who do you think you are? All you get to do is nod your head and ask a doctor to pump his body full of sterilizing hormones. This is the position of CNN. It’s the position of the woman hosting this show. But it’s the position of a vanishingly small amount of the electorate. That clip goes on for a while, by the way. The first guy says something that’s obviously true — that boys are competing in women’s sports, and they shouldn’t be — and then gets relentlessly heckled for it. He’s eventually told that the “American Medical Association” says that children can change their gender, so therefore, you don’t get to have an opinion on the topic. You have to accept their judgment or else you’ll get banned from CNN, just like the last guest who tried to speak his mind on this same panel. This is the divide that the Democrats are experiencing right now as a party. This is the choice they have. They can either choose to acknowledge reality, or they can double down on absurdities and falsehoods. If they go with the absurdities and falsehoods, then they’re going to keep haranguing Americans, calling for censorship, and screaming at an audience that’s rapidly becoming nonexistent. Whatever they decide, it’s now clear that voters have made up their minds. On Tuesday, swing voters decided that affirming reality is the single most important issue in this country. This is the political victory that we’ve been seeking from the moment we began fighting the deranged excesses of gender ideology several years ago. And now it’s here. But as long as the Left keeps pushing it, the fight will continue.

More Winning! Trump Goes Full Peace Through Strength

I am not yet tired of winning. The winning just continues.  I am truly enjoying the staffing of the new Trump administration so far. According to the Wall Street Journal, there are a couple of picks that have been made. One has been announced: Florida GOP Representative Mike Waltz, a Green Beret veteran, to be White House national security adviser. The Journal also reported that President-elect Trump is expected to nominate Florida GOP Senator Marco Rubio of Florida as Secretary of State. President Trump is moving fast. He is staffing professionally. He’s finding people who are loyal to the Trump vision, the “peace through strength” vision. President Trump was on this show two weeks before Election Day, and I specifically asked him about his foreign policy. He said repeatedly that peace through strength is his foreign policy. That’s what over 75 million Americans voted for: Trump’s peace through strength. Trump’s picks are going to do his bidding in the foreign policy realm; they will reinforce his Trump doctrine, which is, “Cross this line and I will punch you so hard in the face you will not want to do it again.”  That is the Trump doctrine and it is a great doctrine, an excellent foreign policy doctrine, which is why we had four years with no wars. Contrary to certain popular opinions, war is only prevented by preparing for war so you don’t have to do it. That is the actual way that you prevent war.  Submission and cowardice were tried with Joe Biden. It didn’t go particularly well. Donald Trump does precisely the reverse. As I said on Fox Business, President Trump is the best foreign policy president of my lifetime, bar none. WATCH: The Ben Shapiro Show Marco Rubio entered with the Tea Party wave back in 2010, and then ran for president against Donald Trump in 2016. Trump has a unique capacity to let bygones be bygones, which is why, of course, despite the fact that JD Vance said some unkind things about him back in 2016, Vance is his vice president. Rubio has proven himself to be a formidable asset on the campaign trail; he was loyal to President Trump’s vision and was an early Trump endorser in the primaries. Not only that, Rubio has proven himself on foreign policy. He’s on the Senate Intelligence Committee, he’s great on television, and he knows all the players. In one instance, he was walking down a hallway being harassed by a pro-Hamas heckler from Code Pink. It didn’t go well for the heckler: Heckler: Senator Rubio, will you call for a ceasefire? Rubio: No, I will not. (turning to someone accompanying the heckler) Are you filming this? I want you guys to get this. (turning back to heckler) I want them to destroy every element of Hamas they can get their hands on. These people are vicious animals who did horrifying crimes. And I hope you guys post that. Heckler: What about the civilians killed every day? Rubio: I blame Hamas. Hamas should stop hiding behind civilians, putting civilians in the way. Hamas knew that this was going to lead to this, so Hamas should stop building their military installations underneath hospitals. Heckler: So you don’t care that 15,000 died. You don’t care about the babies that are being killed every day. Rubio: Absolutely I care. I think it’s horrifying. I think it’s terrible. I think Hamas is 100% to blame. That’s what I think. Make sure you post that, please. Rubio has also said that if you come to the United States on a visa and you proceed to spew anti-American, anti-Semitic nonsense, you should be gone. He stated on the Senate floor:  What I am saying is common sense. You’re a visitor. You are not even American. You’re a foreign national. You’re here because we gave you a visa to be here temporarily, and now you’re out there defending and supporting Hamas, a terrorist organization? You need to go. That’s what this resolution asks the administration to do. I hope we can get a vote on it in the Senate, so everyone will know where everyone here stands. Rubio is repeating the Trump line with regard to Ukraine, which, contrary to popular opinion, is not that the United States is going to cut and run from Ukraine. Trump does not like losing. He likes to win, as we have noticed. And what does that mean? It doesn’t mean endless war in Ukraine. What it means is that the United States supports Ukraine sufficient to prevent a Russian invasion of Kyiv, but also looks for an off-ramp with Putin settling the lines where they are already settled. That is what the deal has looked like since 2022. Rubio pointed out that the Biden administration had no plan in Ukraine, saying: If you ask the Biden administration, they will tell you we are funding a stalemate. I think the Ukrainians have been incredibly brave and strong in standing up to Russia. But at the end of the day, what we are funding here is a stalemate war, and it needs to be brought to a conclusion because that country is going to be set back 100 years. Now, that doesn’t mean that we celebrate what Vladimir Putin did or are excited about it. But I think there has to also be some common sense here, and that is that right now what we are funding is a stalemate that’s costing lives. It’s going to take 100 years to rebuild that poor country with everything they are facing now. He is not wrong about that. And that is why President Trump is attempting to seek an offramp there. MATT WALSH’S ‘AM I RACIST?’ NOW STREAMING ON DAILYWIRE+ Mike Waltz has been a bulldog on national security. Waltz slammed Secretary of State Antony Blinken to his face in a hearing, saying: Mr. Secretary, I have here the disastrous Afghanistan withdrawal, the invasion of Ukraine, the unholy alliance between Russia and China, Hamas and Hezbollah attacks on Israel, Houthi attacking international shipping, hostages in Gaza, Iran flush with cash, the reemergence of ISIS-K now six thwarted attacks in Europe, increased Chinese aggression and the collapse of our influence in central Africa … You’re going to tell the American people with this list they’re safer? Peace through strength. Trump means it.

A New ‘Border Czar’ Is Coming to Town. Who Is Tom Homan?

Illegal aliens who pose “national security threats” to the U.S. will be prioritized for deportation, Tom Homan told Fox News on Monday.   President-elect Donald Trump announced Sunday that Homan would serve as “border czar” in his forthcoming administration. Homan has been highly critical of the Biden-Harris administration’s handling of the southern border, repeatedly raising the alarm over the estimated more than 10 million illegal aliens, including 662,000 criminal illegal aliens, who have entered the country on President Joe Biden and Kamala Harris’ watch.   Trump has pledged to launch a mass illegal alien deportation program under his administration, and, as “border czar,” Homan will play a central role in executing that campaign promise.   Trump’s new “border czar” says he became increasingly passionate about securing America’s borders after seeing the ways the Mexican criminal cartels exploit migrants, especially minors, for their own gain.  “Illegal immigration is not a victimless crime,” Homan told The Daily Signal during a phone call in October. “Children are dying almost daily on the border.”   In May 2003, Homan was working for the newly formed Immigration and Customs Enforcement when he got a call about an incident in Victoria, Texas. A group of illegal immigrants had been found packed inside a sweltering truck trailer. Among the 19 dead was a little boy, only 5 years old. At the crime scene, Homan directed the men bagging the bodies to save the child until last, because “I couldn’t deal with it at the time, because I just kept seeing my son there,” he recounted. Homan later learned from survivors who were inside the trailer that the “boy begged for his life and begged his father not let him die,” Homan recalled, noting that the father was powerless to save his child. “After talking to the witnesses and hearing the story, I just said, ‘No, this doesn’t have to happen. If we had a secure border, it wouldn’t have to happen,’” he explained. Children have long been some of the greatest victims of America’s border crisis, and today, the situation has only grown more dire with the implementation of policies that allow illegal immigration and provide criminal cartels with opportunities for exploitation, according to Homan.  Tom Homan, then-acting director of Immigration and Customs Enforcement, shakes hands with Border Patrol agents after a press conference at Border Field State Park in San Ysidro, California, on May 7, 2018. (Sandy Huffaker/Getty Images) Homan’s border security career began in the 1980s when he joined the Border Patrol after serving as a police officer in New York. He was first assigned to the San Diego sector’s Campo Border Patrol Station, which at the time had only about 30 agents.   Mike Syzdek joined Border Patrol a few years before Homan and helped to train the new agent at the Campo station.   Homan “had a really outgoing personality and everybody liked him,” Syzdek told The Daily Signal in a phone call Tuesday. “He was a really good worker, but he liked to do practical jokes and different things, and the guys just loved him,” recalled Syzdek, who retired from Border Patrol in 2007.   “Most trainees take a while to get acclimated to the area and the mission of the [Border Patrol],” Syzdek said, adding, “We all noted that Tom [Homan] was a very fast learner.”  Syzdek and Homan worked together with other members of their team in 1986 to carry out a seizure of 1,285 pounds cocaine, which, at the time, “was the largest land seizure [of cocaine] in the history of the United States,” Syzdek said.   After Homan left the Campo station, Syzdek did not keep in touch but him, but says he was pleased when he learned years later that Homan was working for Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Homan served as executive associate director of ICE’s Enforcement and Removal Operations office beginning in 2013 under the Obama administration. In 2017, Trump appointed Homan acting director of ICE, a role Homan served in until his retirement a year and a half later. Homan will turn 63 later this month. Tom Homan (right) confers with David Murphy during a House Oversight Committee hearing on Capitol Hill on June 27, 2013. (Mark Wilson/Getty Images) As Trump’s border czar, Homan is “going to do whatever is necessary,” Syzdek said. With his “knowledge and experience,” Homan “not only is he going to be the executor of the policies that President Trump is going to come up with, but he’s going to have a big hand in recommending these policies, and the president could have no better adviser, in my opinion, than Tom,” according to Syzdek. “I’m so happy to see that he has obtained this position, such an important position in our government,” Syzdek said. “A boy from Campo, you know. Go figure.”   The post A New ‘Border Czar’ Is Coming to Town. Who Is Tom Homan? appeared first on The Daily Signal.

5 Tips & Tricks To Caring For Wooden Handled Tools & Equipment

There’s nothing like being in the middle of a project and one of the important tools handle breaks. Not to mention that outdoor wooden tools and equipment can be expensive in the first place, let alone to have to replace them and invest in the same thing again. 5 Tips & Tricks To Caring For Wooden Tools & Equipment The proper care and upkeep of your equipment and tools can make them work more efficiently and last longer. Much of what you’re going to hear probably consists of things we’ve all heard growing up and at different times in our lives. The tips and tricks are pretty basic and don’t consist of much in most cases. Tips & Tricks 1. Weatherproofing If you enjoy using wooden handle tools it’s a good idea to waterproof them. When wood sits in the rain or wet for long periods of time it can cause wood rot, as well as, rust and oxidation around the screws. Rust causes deterioration when it comes to certain metals and wood. You can use linseed oil or if you want to be a little safer use flaxseed oil. Linseed oil is actually extracted from flaxseed but it is far more potent and the volatile oils can be flammable and hazardous. Flaxseed oil is found in most grocery stores and is meant for cooking with. It will waterproof your wooden handles just as good as the linseed without the hassle. 2. Paint Painting can add some oomph to weatherproofing your wooden handle tools but it’s not the same. Using paint can help provide a protective layer or layers against rain and the sun. It’s always wise to use a waterproof paint or add a coating of weather seal. Prolonged periods of time in the sun can cause handles, whether they are wooden or plastic, to become weak and begin chipping. If there is any glue binding the head of the tool onto the stick hot and cold temperatures can have a negative effect. It sucks to have a hammerhead go flying in mid-swing. Eventually, you will have to touch up the paint but that’s to be expected. 3. Pick Them Up & Put Them Away As I mentioned, some of these things we are taught as children. Leaving your tools out in the elements all the time is going to take a toll on them after a while. It doesn’t matter what sort of handles you are dealing with the elements will have an impact on them. Keep them where it is dry. 4. Keep Them Clean When I was little I thought it was silly that my older brothers always wiped their tools down after they worked on the car. They even cleaned the mower off before putting it away in the garage. I later learned how much that helps care for them. Dirt and wet grass build up and then it begins a cycle of rust, wear and tear. Eventually, something goes wrong with whatever it is and has to be fixed or replaced. Keeping gardening tools free of dirt and water before putting them away and wiping the grease off of your other tools can improve the quality of use and extend its life. 5. Regular Upkeep image via dvidshub.net Screws need to be tightened, handles adjusted, knives and blades sharpening. Chainsaws and other gas or electric powered equipment needs to be maintained as well. Taking good care of your tools really helps you in the long run. Wranglerstar shows how to care for your ax & other wood handle tools: For some of us, the tools and equipment we use are strictly for hobby work while for others of us they are our livelihood and our means of everyday life. Either way, it’s good to take care of your tools the right way so that they work better for longer. There are going to be times that something does get left out in the rain but as long as you took the steps to protect them by weatherproofing them then it should be all good. Even if you didn’t it’s not going to hurt them if it only happens once in awhile. Take good care of your tools and they’ll take good care of you. Happy Working!
