There is enough support in the GOP-led House to impeach Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas over his handling of the border crisis‚ a top Republican said on Sunday. Homeland Security Chairman Mark Green (R-TN) raised expectations when speaking to Fox News anchor Maria Bartiromo on “Sunday Morning Futures” about what comes next after his panel held a second impeachment hearing last week. “Right now‚ we are assembling articles of impeachment to present to our committee. We will mark those up in committee very shortly after getting back [the week of January 29]. And then‚ passing the committee‚ they will go to the floor for a vote on the floor‚” Green said. The chairman suggested a House floor vote could happen sometime after early February‚ noting that attendance is key as Republicans only have a slim majority in the chamber. “One of our challenges is just the folks that are out for health issues right now‚ but once those individuals get back‚ I anticipate a very quick vote on the floor‚” he said. Looking ahead to when the proceedings do make it to the House floor‚ Green said “we have the votes” to impeach Mayorkas. But he was less bullish when pressed on whether Mayorkas will be out of the job. “I certainly hope so‚ Maria‚” he said. “Look‚ this guy has subverted the laws passed by Congress‚ ignoring a co-equal branch of government. It’s very clear the law says ‘shall detain.’ And Mayorkas has done everything not to detain. In fact‚ he’s created systems that — what he calls lawful parole‚ but it’s actually totally contradicting the Immigration and Nationality Act that was passed by this Congress.” CLICK HERE TO GET THE DAILYWIRE+ APP Democrats in the House have panned the impeachment proceedings as a “political stunt‚” while the White House has gone as far as to claim the endeavor is “unconstitutional.” Green emphasized that Congress writes laws while the executive branch puts them into action‚ a binary that the congressman argued Mayorkas is violating. “If a Cabinet secretary doesn’t believe in those laws‚ he should run for Congress and come over here and change them. He shouldn’t‚ just like a king‚ do whatever he wants‚” Green said. “And that’s basically what Mayorkas has done. And that’s why we’re going after this impeachment. It’s about the Constitution‚ Maria. It’s about the founding principles of our country‚ separation of power‚ an Executive Branch that executes and a Legislative Branch that writes the laws. He doesn’t get to write the laws or pick and choose.”

Vice President Kamala Harris defended President Joe Biden’s mental sharpness as voters continue to express concerns about the 81-year-old’s ability to perform his job. Harris made the remarks while on the campaign trail in South Carolina in an interview that aired Sunday on ABC News’s “This Week.” “I spend a lot of time with President Biden‚ be it in the Oval Office‚ in the Situation Room‚ and other places‚” Harris said. “He is extraordinarily smart. Freedom comes with risks.” Because of this‚ she claimed‚ “Our top concern for the next two years is not conflict or climate. It is disinformation and misinformation.” The Global Risk Report published by the World Economic Forum says addressing misinformation and disinformation takes priority even over extreme weather events‚ war‚ terrorist attacks‚ and inflation. Remember how global warming is supposed to be an existential threat? What about terror attacks like what happened in Israel in October? What about war‚ inflation‚ and policies that can collapse your dollar? All of those things are now secondary to misinformation and disinformation. “The boundary between online and offline is getting thinner and thinner‚” von der Leyen said‚ and our battle against “disinformation” and “misinformation” is “even more important in this new era of generative AI.” The World Economic Forum's “Global Risk Report” names artificial intelligence as one of the top potential risks of the next decade. It also called for a global regulatory body to oversee artificial intelligence — in other words‚ to take control of AI and digital ID systems akin to vaccine passports. We are in a time for choosing. Which god will you serve? The ones building their Tower of Babel at Davos? Or the one true God of Abraham‚ Isaac‚ and Jacob? But for the next two years‚ it's you. You are the risk. So what does all that mean? I believe that we are now measuring things in my world by days and months — not by years. Imran Ahmed‚ the Center for Countering Digital Hate’s chief executive‚ says that “climate advocates and policymakers‚” like myself and Blaze Media‚ apparently‚ “must recognize this shift or risk losing the information battle necessary to deliver climate solutions.” How exactly do they propose winning this “information battle” against “climate deniers” like myself and Blaze Media? By defunding us and deplatforming us‚ of course. Ahmed can’t stand that content creators who disagree with him profit from YouTube’s ad revenue‚ so he is “call[ing] on YouTube and other social media platforms to update policies to keep up with new forms of climate crisis denial along with removing financial incentives‚ and reducing its reach and visibility.” To repeat: they are calling on YouTube and other social media platforms to “remove financial incentives” and reduce the “reach and visibility” of people like me and Blaze Media because they can’t stand the idea of you hearing something that goes against their narrative. They don’t trust you to make your own opinions. They know climate change is not going to kill millions around the world. This is about gaining power and control over you. They want to defund us and deplatform us. “People have the right to post this content‚” Ahmed concluded. “But do you have to reward them with money? And give them a megaphone?” They are creating a digital ghetto. It's what the Germans did to the Jews. “Look‚ you have a right to be out and have your place‚ and you can have your say. We decide your future‚ what you will say and think‚ and you must obey.” We are in a time for choosing. Which god will you serve? The ones building their Tower of Babel at Davos?
