3 females dragged Philly crossing guard off bus when she tried to escape brutal beating‚ detective says; suspects arrested

Last week Blaze News reported that three females brutally attacked a Philadelphia crossing guard‚ resulting in the 29-year-old victim's hospitalization. The good news is that three suspects have been arrested. The bad news is that the beatdown was way more sinister and vicious than initially reported. What are the details? "I couldn't believe they would do this to someone who is out there trying to protect children every day of the week‚" Capt. Frank Banford‚ commanding officer of the Central Detective Division‚ told WTXF-TV. Capt. Frank BanfordImage source: YouTube screenshot Police last week released information about the Nov. 30 attack‚ including still images of the suspects. Police said the victim was working as a crossing guard at 2800 Cecil B. Moore Avenue around 3:40 p.m. when she was involved in an argument with three females. Cops noted that the three females knocked the victim to the ground and punched and stomped her several times. The victim suffered bruising to her head and face as well as swelling to her nose‚ left hand‚ and right leg‚ police said‚ adding that the victim was taken to Temple Hospital for treatment of her injuries. But that ain't the half of it. 'Viciousness' WTXF‚ citing police sources‚ reported that the suspects actually attacked the guard because she gave her cell phone to a young girl to call for help after she was attacked by the same suspects. "The viciousness of it‚" Banford told the station in reference to the beatdown of the crossing guard. "I mean‚ they were trying to inflict some injury. There were boots to the face‚ kicks all over the body‚ punches. It went on for a couple minutes. It was horrible." Banford then disclosed to WTXF what may be the worst part: "[The crossing guard] tries to get on the bus ... to get away. They drag her off of the bus‚ drag her to the ground‚ start beating her‚ punching her‚ kicking her‚ while she's on the ground ... horrendous." Arrested Police arrested two adult females identified as 26-year-old Imani Thomas and 18-year-old Destiny Sanders in connection with the attack‚ the station said‚ adding that the third suspect — a 15-year-old girl — turned herself in to authorities. — (@) Banford noted to WTXF that police were able to arrest the suspects because of immediate help from citizens who called cops and identified the females within a couple of hours after police released still images of the suspects. However‚ the station added that the crossing guard hasn't been back to that intersection since the attack. New Hampshire primary heats up: Here's what's on the ballot

As the 2024 election draws nearer‚ the New Hampshire primary is heating up. Donald Trump‚ Nikki Haley‚ and Ron DeSantis are all on the Republican ballot — and Haley seems to be promising a tight race as she just trails behind Trump in the latest polls. However‚ Joe Biden and RFK Jr. are missing from the Democrat ballot. While Pat Gray wonders what this means for Biden‚ Keith Malinak isn’t too concerned. “It doesn’t matter; they’ve rigged it so that he’s going to win the nomination regardless‚” Malinak says‚ noting that the reason RFK’s name is missing is because he was told that if he ran in New Hampshire as a Democrat‚ they wouldn’t put him on the ballot in Georgia. RFK then announced that he would be running as an independent instead. “This is what the Democrats do‚” Gray scoffs. “But they’re worried about democracy‚” Malinak adds. “The election integrity is so very important to them; don’t mess with our democracy‚” Gray jokes. Eye-opening video shows flames shooting from Boeing plane mid-flight‚ forcing emergency landing in Miami

Alarming video recorded by a witness on the ground in Florida shows the moment flames were shooting out from a Boeing plane mid-flight on Thursday night. The Boeing 747 cargo plane was forced to make an emergency landing in Miami.Melanie Adaros was out for a walk with her mother in southwest Miami when she noticed an airplane "shooting sparks." "There’s always planes flying overhead‚ but they’re little planes‚" Adaros said. "But this didn’t sound like a little plane. It sounded very low‚ so I turned ... You always see a plane going up or going down. This one was just at a steady level and it was shooting sparks. It was very surreal."Adaros decided to record the eye-opening spectacle because she was wondering‚ "Is it falling? Is it going to explode? It seemed to do a big‚ wide‚ swerving turn."Atlas Air Flight 95 took off from Miami International Airport at 10:32 p.m. but needed to make an emergency landing after the crew reported an engine failure. The plane touched down at 10:46 p.m. at Miami International Airport‚ according to FlightAware. The Boeing 747 cargo plane was scheduled to travel to Luis Muñoz Marin International Airport in Puerto Rico.No injuries were reported by Miami-Dade Fire Rescue.A spokesperson for Air Atlas said the plane made a safe landing "after experiencing an engine malfunction soon after departure" and noted that "the crew followed all standard procedures and safely returned to MIA."Air Atlas said it would conduct an inspection to determine the cause of the malfunction. The Federal Aviation Administration revealed that the plane had a "softball size hole" above its engine that failed mid-flight.Atlas Air Worldwide offers air transport of cargo and "large-group passenger charters for celebrities or dignitaries‚" according to its website.Atlas Air features a fleet of Boeing 737s‚ 747s‚ 767s‚ and 777s.Boeing declined to comment on the fiery incident and directed all media to Atlas Air instead. This is the second scary predicament involving a Boeing plane this month. Earlier this month‚ a Boeing 737 MAX 9 operated by Alaska Airlines had a section of its fuselage blow out mid-flight.The concerning situation caused the FAA to ground Boeing 737 MAX 9 planes. The FAA said on Wednesday that it had inspected 40 737 MAX 9 planes. However‚ there are 171 Boeing 737 MAX 9 airplanes in operation with Alaska Airlines and United Airlines. “All 737-9 MAX aircraft with door plugs will remain grounded pending the FAA’s review and final approval of an inspection and maintenance process that satisfies all FAA safety requirements‚” the civil air agency said in a statement. "Once the FAA approves an inspection and maintenance process‚ it will be required on every grounded 737-9 MAX prior to future operation. The safety of the flying public‚ not speed‚ will determine the timeline for returning these aircraft to service."Like Blaze News? Texas bus company sues Chicago over migrant drop-off rules‚ accuses 'sanctuary' city of 'turning its back' on asylum-seekers

A Texas-based busing company recently filed a lawsuit against Chicago over its "stringent" migrant drop-off ordinance‚ Fox News Digital reported.Wynne Transportation LLC accused the "sanctuary" city of "turning its back" on asylum-seekers.In November‚ Democratic Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson implemented new regulations that impact where and when bus companies can drop off migrants‚ Blaze News previously reported. According to the city's restrictions‚ only two buses can arrive per hour‚ Monday through Friday‚ between 8 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Bus operators must provide city officials with advance notice and receive approval before shuttling individuals into the city.Companies that fail to comply with Johnson's orders could get hit with a $3‚000 fine and have their buses impounded. In addition to enacting the new rules‚ Chicago also filed more than 50 lawsuits against bus companies transporting the migrants. According to the complaints‚ 77 buses violated the city's measures. On January 5‚ Wynne Transportation LLC fired back‚ filing a lawsuit against Chicago seeking declaratory judgment and injunctive relief. According to WMAQ-TV‚ the city impounded one of the company's buses. The company argued that the measures are "placing stringent requirements and harsh punishments.""Rather than welcoming migrants and giving them sanctuary‚ Chicago is turning its back on those wishing to travel here by enacting an ordinance that targets the transportation companies that transport migrants from our southern border to their desired destination – Chicago – in violation of Plaintiff's constitutional rights‚" the lawsuit states. "This case is about allowing immigrants the opportunity to call Chicago home."The transportation company's complaint accuses Chicago of violating the United States and Illinois constitutions. It further alleges that the city infringes on the federal government's authority to set immigration policy. A Friday press release from Texas Republican Governor Greg Abbott revealed that his administration has bused approximately 30‚000 migrants to Chicago since the summer of 2022.In response to the city's restrictions on buses‚ Abbott began sending planes of migrants into Chicago. In December‚ Andrew Mahaleris‚ a spokesperson for Abbott‚ stated‚ "Until President Biden steps up and does his job to secure the border‚ Texas will continue taking historic action to help our local partners respond to this Biden-made crisis."Mike Kozlowski‚ a spokesperson for Wynne Transportation‚ told Fox News‚ "I'm a little surprised‚ quite frankly‚ to see that the city has passed an ordinance‚ which is so clearly unconstitutional‚ and then is aggressively pursuing enforcement of that ordinance by filing 95 different lawsuits against these companies."Like Blaze News? WEF panelist suggests creating 'exclusion lists' to demonetize sources sharing 'disinformation'

On Thursday‚ a panelist at the World Economic Forum's Davos conference suggested creating "exclusion lists" to demonetize sources sharing so-called "disinformation‚" the Daily Caller News Foundation reported.Jeanne Bourgault‚ the president and CEO of Internews‚ an international nonprofit that provides "support" to independent media outlets in more than 100 countries‚ addressed how to prevent the spread of what she considers inaccurate information during a Davos conference panel titled "Defending Truth.""Global trust in institutions is eroding‚ reflected in how 40% of people consistently trust news. Empowering internet users with media information literacy‚ advancing information integrity and enhancing transparency are vital for addressing the spread of false information‚" read the WEF's description of the Thursday session.Panelists‚ including Bourgault‚ sought to answer the question‚ "What actions do stakeholders need to take to preserve a healthy trust ecosystem?"Bourgault explained that one of the most effective ways to keep people from being exposed to so-called inaccurate information is to develop lists or guides for advertisers that tell them where to and where not to spend. "Disinformation makes money‚ and we need to follow that money‚ and we need to work with‚ in particular‚ the global advertising industry‚" Bourgault said. "A lot of those dollars go to pretty bad content. So you can work really hard on exclusion lists or inclusion lists just to really try to … focus their ad dollars toward the good news and information. The accurate and relevant news and information."Bourgault expressed frustration that social media platforms do not employ enough "trust and safety people" to monitor and remove "disinformation" shared on their platforms. According to Internews' website‚ the nonprofit seeks to help people worldwide gain access to "trustworthy news and information to make informed decisions about their lives and hold power to account.""We train journalists and digital rights activists‚ tackle disinformation‚ and offer business expertise to help media outlets become financially sustainable‚" the website states. The organization aims to eliminate "disinformation designed to manipulate elections‚ distort public debate‚ incite violence or undermine public health." Internews also mentions the need to hold social media platforms responsible for ensuring "quality information" shared online is "prioritized" while "disinformation is removed."Fellow panelist Vera Jourová‚ vice president for values and transparency at the European Commission‚ claimed that disinformation presents a challenge to enhancing global security and cooperation."Disinformation is a security threat. And maybe not many noticed‚ but it was part of the Russian military doctrine that they will start information war. And we are in it now‚" Jouravá stated. "How we think about it in the [European Union]: We are focusing on improving of the system where the people will get the facts right."Jouravá claimed that the EU is not trying to censor opinions or language. As far as what steps the EU is taking to prevent the spread of false information‚ she noted that social media companies are now forced by law to remove disinformation. She added that the "last resort solution" to solve the issue of so-called inaccurate information is "law enforcement." Jouravá pointed to the increase in anti-Semitism and noted that disinformation shared online could lead to physical threats.Like Blaze News? If Davos elites have their way‚ we’re headed for the digital ghetto

If Davos elites have their way‚ we’re headed for the digital ghetto

This week‚ the globalist elites have their annual Davos gathering‚ and this year‚ the most important thing up for discussion — even above climate change — is “mis-” and “disinformation.” The president of the European Union‚ Ursula von der Leyen‚ just spoke at Davos and said‚ “Our freedom comes with risks. Freedom comes with risks.” Because of this‚ she claimed‚ “Our top concern for the next two years is not conflict or climate. It is disinformation and misinformation.” The Global Risk Report published by the World Economic Forum says addressing misinformation and disinformation takes priority even over extreme weather events‚ war‚ terrorist attacks‚ and inflation. Remember how global warming is supposed to be an existential threat? What about terror attacks like what happened in Israel in October? What about war‚ inflation‚ and policies that can collapse your dollar? All of those things are now secondary to misinformation and disinformation. “The boundary between online and offline is getting thinner and thinner‚” von der Leyen said‚ and our battle against “disinformation” and “misinformation” is “even more important in this new era of generative AI.” The World Economic Forum's “Global Risk Report” names artificial intelligence as one of the top potential risks of the next decade. It also called for a global regulatory body to oversee artificial intelligence — in other words‚ to take control of AI and digital ID systems akin to vaccine passports. We are in a time for choosing. Which god will you serve? The ones building their Tower of Babel at Davos? Or the one true God of Abraham‚ Isaac‚ and Jacob? But for the next two years‚ it's you. You are the risk. So what does all that mean? I believe that we are now measuring things in my world by days and months — not by years. We are now looking at people labeling me‚ Blaze Media‚ or anybody you trust as “misinformation” and “disinformation.” It is happening in real time. We told you a couple of weeks ago on the radio that our spy agencies and our Pentagon are in league with the Five Eyes‚ that they are doing “misinformation disinformation editing” and cognitive training. That means they are training the way you think by controlling what you see. The same global elites gathering at Davos want to do the exact same thing. That’s why they want control over AI and why you can’t be trusted with it. The Independent reported this week: Climate misinformation is rapidly mutating across social media‚ allowing nefarious actors to skirt restrictions and continue to profit‚ according to a new report. With climate-driven disasters now impossible to ignore‚ outright denials of climate change no longer hold up with most people. That isn’t true. The people who believe in climate change and who are certain we’re in the midst of some sort of disaster have less credibility than ever before. The Independent continues: In the murky online realm of climate misinformation‚ a shift in tactics is in motion. Researchers analysed thousands of hours of YouTube content from the past six years and found that “old” climate crisis denial — which claims that global heating is not happening and burning fossil fuels is not the cause — is giving way to a new type of misleading content intended to muddy the waters. Please note that the Independent story cited only one source for all of its bold claims: a report by the nonprofit Center for Countering Digital Hate‚ which is essentially the new replacement for Media Matters. According to the Independent‚ the report found: "New [Climate] Denial" falls into a few broad groups: that the impacts of global heating are beneficial or harmless; that climate solutions won’t work; and that climate science and the climate movement can’t be trusted. Guess who fell into these new categories of “climate disinformation?” Yours truly.BlazeTV‚ founded by conservative firebrand Glenn Beck‚ regularly features climate change denial. … In a video published in July 2022 and watched 71‚000 times‚ Mr. Beck claims that the Biden administration is using the climate crisis as cover for government control and a “great reset” — an online conspiracy theory that claims that a global elite is trying to dismantle capitalism and create a new social order. Imran Ahmed‚ the Center for Countering Digital Hate’s chief executive‚ says that “climate advocates and policymakers‚” like myself and Blaze Media‚ apparently‚ “must recognize this shift or risk losing the information battle necessary to deliver climate solutions.” How exactly do they propose winning this “information battle” against “climate deniers” like myself and Blaze Media? By defunding us and deplatforming us‚ of course. Ahmed can’t stand that content creators who disagree with him profit from YouTube’s ad revenue‚ so he is “call[ing] on YouTube and other social media platforms to update policies to keep up with new forms of climate crisis denial along with removing financial incentives‚ and reducing its reach and visibility.” To repeat: they are calling on YouTube and other social media platforms to “remove financial incentives” and reduce the “reach and visibility” of people like me and Blaze Media because they can’t stand the idea of you hearing something that goes against their narrative. They don’t trust you to make your own opinions. They know climate change is not going to kill millions around the world. This is about gaining power and control over you. They want to defund us and deplatform us. “People have the right to post this content‚” Ahmed concluded. “But do you have to reward them with money? And give them a megaphone?” They are creating a digital ghetto. It's what the Germans did to the Jews. “Look‚ you have a right to be out and have your place‚ and you can have your say. Just behind this wall.” They were called ghettos. And after the Jews couldn’t be seen behind the ghetto’s walls‚ they could easily be liquidated. Now‚ I hope no one is thinking about liquidation. There is‚ however‚ a digital wall being built for voices that disagree reasonably and read things differently than what various governments at home and abroad want you to read. No wonder elites like Ursula von der Leyen are so concerned about AI along with “mis-” and “disinformation.” What a powerful tool to control “mis-” and “disinformation” espoused by the “deplorables” like you and me. The elites want to control information because‚ ultimately‚ they want to control you. That was one of their objectives at Davos this week. Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella told the WEF audience‚ “There’s nothing that cannot be controlled by humankind.” In effect‚ he is saying‚ “We are gods. We decide your future‚ what you will say and think‚ and you must obey.” We are in a time for choosing. Which god will you serve? The ones building their Tower of Babel at Davos? Or the one true God of Abraham‚ Isaac‚ and Jacob? Let me tell you: They do not serve Him. Want more from Glenn Beck? California settles with church preschool after excluding school from government lunch programs over stance on gender identity

Officials with the California government agreed to a settlement of almost $200‚000 after an attempt to exclude a church's preschool from the state's preschool lunch program. The Church of Compassion and Dayspring Christian Learning Center will receive $30‚000 for meals paid for in absence of state funding‚ along with $160‚000 for attorney's fees.As reported by the Daily Caller‚ the church and the Alliance Defending Freedom filed a lawsuit in June 2023 that alleged the Biden administration's U.S. Department of Agriculture along with California's Department of Social Services revoked funding to the school over its "orthodox religious beliefs" regarding sex and gender. The lawsuit explained that the 2023 exclusion from the program was also due to the learning center's beliefs on "human sexuality" and a refusal to "use any child or employee’s ‘preferred’ pronouns that do not correspond to biological sex."The litigation argued that the government officials were discriminating against the church deliberately because of its faith and thus were in violation of the First Amendment."The government can’t withhold food from families in need simply because their children attend a Christian preschool. The Constitution protects the right of Church of Compassion and its preschool to operate according to the dictates of their faith‚" ADF senior counsel Jeremiah Galus said in a statement."In the name of combatting discrimination‚ government officials excluded the church and preschool from serving the El Cajon community based solely on their religious beliefs and exercise. While it shouldn’t have taken a lawsuit to resolve this‚ at least now Church of Compassion can continue its vital outreach to needy children and families‚" Galus added. The children's learning center had already been part of the USDA's program for almost 20 years before the rules were changed in 2021. The updated terms declared that under Title IX‚ "federally funded education institutions" would henceforth need to adhere to discrimination rules surrounding "sexual orientation" and "gender identity."The Child and Adult Care Food Program‚ from which the preschool was excluded‚ is a federal program that provides "supplemental reimbursements for meals and snacks" to eligible kids and adults who are enrolled in child care centers‚ day care homes‚ and adult day care centers.Like Blaze News? Biden admin cancels another $5 billion in student loan debt amid borrowers' repayment boycott

For the second week in a row‚ the Biden administration announced another round of federal student debt cancellations‚ according to a Friday press release from the White House.Biden is pushing forward with his plan to zero out student loan debt piece by piece after the Supreme Court shot down the president’s unlawful sweeping debt cancellation plan last year that would have eliminated $10‚000 of federal student loan debt for individuals making under $125‚000 yearly and married couples making less than $250‚000 yearly. On Friday‚ Biden announced that his administration would cancel approximately $5 billion of debt for another 74‚000 borrowers. Many of those who are eligible for the latest round of cancellations are teachers‚ nurses‚ and firefighters.“Of the 74‚000 borrowers approved for relief today‚ nearly 44‚000 of them are teachers‚ nurses‚ firefighters and other individuals who earned forgiveness after 10 years of public service‚ and close to 30‚000 of them are people who have been in repayment for at least 20 years but never got the relief they earned through income-driven repayment plans‚” the White House press release stated. The latest cancellations result from the administration’s changes to the income-driven repayment forgiveness and Public Service Loan Forgiveness plans.According to the administration‚ more than 3.7 million Americans have had their federal student loans zeroed out since Biden took office. The so-called debt relief — passed on to taxpayers — totals over $137 billion.Last Friday‚ Biden announced that borrowers who took out less than $12‚000 and have been in repayment for at least ten years will have their debt canceled under the administration’s Saving on a Valuable Education Plan‚ Blaze News previously reported. The White House said‚ “This action will particularly help community college borrowers‚ low-income borrowers‚ and those struggling to repay their loans.”During the COVID lockdowns in 2020‚ the federal government paused student loan repayments. That repayment pause ended in October.According to a recent survey by Intelligent.com‚ millions of federal student loan borrowers are still refusing to make payments in hopes their boycott will push the Biden administration to cancel most or all of their outstanding debt‚ Blaze News previously reported. “Of the one-fourth of borrowers who haven’t made any payments‚ 9% say they are intentionally boycotting repayment as a way of pressuring the federal government to cancel federal student loan debt‚” the survey found. Many of the 1‚000 borrowers who were polled said their boycott would bring attention to the student loan debt conversation and even compel political candidates to consider sweeping cancellations. The Biden administration repeatedly stated it “won’t back down from using every tool at our disposal to get student loan borrowers the relief they need to reach their dreams.” Like Blaze News? Remains of 9/11 victim identified more than 22 years after deadly terrorist attack

More than two decades after the horrific terrorist attacks on September 11‚ 2001‚ New York City officials have positively identified the remains of another victim. On Thursday‚ NYC Mayor Eric Adams and NYC Chief Medical Examiner Dr. Jason Graham released a joint statement announcing that advancements in DNA testing involving "next-generation sequencing technology" have allowed officials to identify the remains of John Ballantine Niven.Niven‚ a husband and father of an 18-month-old boy‚ John Jr.‚ was 44 years old when he went to work that fateful Tuesday morning. He was the senior vice president in mergers and acquisitions at AON Risk Services‚ an insurance company located on the 105th floor of the South Tower of the World Trade Center. At 8:46 a.m. that morning‚ American Airlines Flight 11‚ originating in Boston and heading for Los Angeles when it was hijacked by al-Qaeda terrorists‚ crashed into the North Tower. Seventeen minutes later‚ at 9:03 a.m.‚ United Airlines Flight 175‚ another flight from Boston originally destined for L.A.‚ crashed into the South Tower between floors 77 and 85. Just four people in the South Tower at or above the crash site survived. All the others‚ including Niven‚ who was 20 floors above it‚ perished.Niven was raised in Oyster Bay‚ a city of about 300‚000 residents located on Long Island. After he married his wife‚ Ellen‚ he and his family split their time between Oyster Bay and Manhattan."He carried his son everywhere‚ taking him along to wash the car or go for a dip in the pool. He would even hunker down with his son’s toy cars‚" Niven's obituary at the time read in part. "In quieter moments‚ he liked to read about history and philosophy."Now‚ 22 years after his death‚ Ellen Niven gave a moving statement in response to the announcement about her late husband. "It is certainly emotional for me‚ and I'm sure many others‚ to hear many years later that DNA has been found‚" she wrote in an email‚ according to the AP. "It's a real tribute to the City of New York and the teams working behind the scenes all these years to honor that mantra 'Never Forget.' My son and I are so appreciative of this tremendous endeavor."The mayor and medical examiner also issued statements honoring Niven and the city officials whose hard work and dedication made Niven's identification possible."While the pain from the enormous losses on September 11th never leaves us‚ the possibility of new identifications can offer solace to the families of victims‚" Mayor Adams said. "I'm grateful for the ongoing work from the Office of Chief Medical Examiner that honors the memory of John Ballantine Niven and all those we lost.""Our solemn promise to find answers for families using the latest advances in science stands as strong today as in the immediate days after the World Trade Center attacks‚" added Dr. Graham. "This new identification attests to our agency’s unwavering commitment and the determination of our scientists."Because very few bodies were recovered after the attack‚ only about 40% of the remains of the 2‚977 victims who died in the Twin Towers‚ the Pentagon‚ and United flight 93‚ which crashed in Shanksville‚ Pennsylvania‚ have been identified. Two other victims were identified as recently as last September‚ but their names were not released upon the request of their families.Newsweek reached out to AON Risk Services for comment.Like Blaze News?
