Hours before the doors to the Iowa Caucus closed for their proceedings on Monday‚ ABC’s World News Tonight teamed up with the Biden White House to write off any results to come and to paint any eventual GOP nominee as equally terrible as any other. It was a sign that ABC was itching to just move past the Republican nomination process‚ so they could focus on helping with the Democratic general election message. “Tonight‚ the White House with an eye on Iowa. Vice President Kamala Harris telling me they are ready to take on whomever emerges the winner‚” chief White House correspondent and President Biden’s chief apple polisher Mary Bruce boasted. After leading Harris through extremely awkward banter about how Monday was the “big day‚” Bruce teed up the extremely unpopular Vice President for some tough talk about how all Republicans were the same and how they’d beat any of them: BRUCE: So are your concerns the same no matter who the Republican nom -- the Republican candidate is‚ the Republican nominee? HARRIS: Well‚ let me just tell you this‚ no matter who the Republican nominee is‚ we're winning. We're winning. BRUCE: Do you -- you've seen the numbers? You know‚ a lot -- do you think Donald Trump at this point is a foregone conclusion? HARRIS: I don't know. But look‚ if it is Donald Trump‚ we've beat him before‚ and we'll beat him again.     Of course‚ at no point did Bruce press Harris on her unpopularity‚ Biden’s sagging head-to-head poll numbers against every major GOP candidate (Trump‚ former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley‚ and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis)‚ nor the Democratic Party’s discontent with Biden heading their ticket. Instead‚ Bruce wanted her to go after Haley: BRUCE: I asked her about South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley who often makes note of Biden's age‚ warning that if he is reelected‚ Harris could end up president. She's made you a frequent target. She says she is really running against you. She's argued that you're a drag on the ticket. What do you say to her? HARRIS: Listen‚ let's see what Iowa says to her. [Awkward laughter] Notice how Brice framed Biden’s age as just an issue for Haley while ignoring how it was an issue of concern for many voters‚ including Democrats. “Now‚ Harris has been busy crisscrossing the country taking on a leading role on issues like abortion rights‚” Bruce led into her conclusion. “But the campaign is also facing criticism for not being aggressive enough. The doors had not yet closed at caucus locations across the state of Iowa‚ but MSNBC had already entered into the “maligning the voters” portion of the program. Joy Reid‚ the network’s flagship racebaiter‚ decided that this was a good opportunity to dump on white evangelicals voting for Donald Trump. Watch as Reid cites woke religion author Robert Jones (he/him)‚ using his quote as the cudgel with which to bash Christians: JOY REID: But I feel like the important sort of data point‚ and you know‚ Steve talks about it a lot‚ he's gonna probably talk about it a little more tonight‚ is that these are white Christians. That this is a state that is overrepresented by white Christians that are gonna participate in the caucuses… CHRIS HAYES: Particularly tonight.  REID: …especially tonight. I‚ today‚ earlier today‚ reached out to Robert Jones. Robby Jones from the Public Religion Research Institute‚ knowing that we were gonna talk about Iowa. And this is a hyper-evangelical‚ white state. And he said the following to me. Iowa is about 61% white Christian. The country as a whole is approximately 41% white Christian. And in Iowa‚ we're talking about evangelical white Christians. He said the following. -Because I asked him- what do they get out of supporting Donald Trump? Because he keeps losing‚ he keeps delivering losses‚ and losses‚ and losses. And he said the following. “They see themselves as the rightful inheritors of this country‚ and Trump has promised to give it back to them”. All the things that we think about‚ about electability‚ about‚ you know- what are people gaming out‚ or- none of that matters when you believe that God has given you this country‚ that it is yours‚ and that everyone who is not a white‚ conservative Christian is a fraudulent American. Is a less- a less real American. Then you don’t care about electability. You care about what God has given you.  It bears noting that Reid opened the show by speaking apologetically about having to work on the holiday commemorating the birthday of Dr. Martin Luther King‚ Jr.‚ who devoted his life to the proposition that we are all children of God‚ and whose famous line of his most famous speech is about his aspiration that his 4 little children one day be judged by the content of their character rather than the color of their skin. Thus‚ Reid cites the author of such works as The Hidden Roots of White Supremacy‚ The End of White Christian America‚ Progressive and Religious‚ Liberalism’s Troubled Search for Equality‚  and White Too Long. Talk about confirmation bias. Reid’s statements say more about MSNBC than they do about whites‚ whether evangelical or otherwise. Recall that this was the same person who speculated not too long ago‚ without evidence‚ that Harvard ousted serial plagiarist Claudine Gay so that white men could run the institution once again.  Such bitter race essentialism‚ disguised as political analysis‚ can only serve to further inflame our discourse and exacerbate racial polarization. That’s the exact opposite of Martin Luther King’s message‚ for which he ultimately gave his life. 

Wrestling icon Hulk Hogan witnessed a car accident and helped the teenage driver out of the wreck‚ according to a report from TMZ. Hogan‚ whose real name is Terry Gene Bollea‚ was driving with his wife‚ Sky Daily‚ and a friend on a highway in Clearwater‚ Florida‚ when they saw the crash‚ according to the report. The former wrestler and his friend helped the 17-year-old teen get out of her car by popping the airbag and unbuckling her seatbelt. TMZ obtained photos from the crash‚ and they showed the teenager's car completely upside down. They also show Hogan and his wife looking on as paramedics arrived. Hogan's wife confirmed the report by posting her account of the incident on social media. "Last night‚ after we left dinner in Tampa‚ we saw a car flip in front of us! I truly admire my husband @hulkhogan and our good buddy @jakerask for springing into action‚ puncturing the girls airbag‚ and getting her quickly out of the car‚" Daily wrote. "By all appearances‚ she was unscathed‚ just really rattled‚ which is an absolute miracle!" she added. The TMZ report said sources told them a car had swerved in order to try to get to an offramp the driver had missed and clipped another car while doing so. That car flipped over and ended upside down. Hogan made headlines recently when he posted video of himself and his wife getting baptized in December at the Indian Rocks Baptist Church in Largo‚ Florida. "Total surrender and dedication to Jesus is the greatest day of my life. No worries‚ no hate‚ no judgment‚" he wrote‚ "only love!" Dramatic security video captured the moment a deputy walked in on four armed thugs trying to rob a convenience store in California. KTLA-TV obtained the video from a 7-Eleven on the intersection of Victoria Street and Avalon Boulevard in the city of Carson from 1:30 a.m. on Saturday. The video shows three alleged armed robbers walk into the store from one door and a fourth walk in from a side door. They hopped over the counter with guns in hand. The clerk said that they put a gun to his head and also threatened him with a knife before a deputy with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department happened to walk into the store. The video shows the deputy quickly pull out his service weapon and call for backup. One of the two clerks told KTLA that he dropped to the floor and recalled that he feared being shot by the robbers. “I’m done. Maybe they’re going to shoot me. Everything happened so fast and they were screaming‚" said Sergio Flores. Instead‚ he was relieved to see the deputy step inside the store. “When I saw him come in‚ I realized somebody’s come to save us‚” Flores added. The video showed other deputies arrive to aid in the arrest of the four suspects. No injuries were reported in the incident. Police believe the incident might be related to a string of robberies involving 7-Eleven stores in the Los Angeles and Long Beach area. The robbers made off with money‚ candy‚ and lottery tickets in those incidents‚ according to police. One customer at the 7-Eleven expressed her anger at the robberies. “It’s not OK for people to think it’s OK to walk into a business and steal and take money‚” Lizeth Cortez told KNBC-TV. “People work hard for their money every day. Dean Phillips' White House bid."On Tuesday‚ I am wiring $1 million to wedeserve.org‚ a political action committee that supports Dean's run. This is by far the largest investment I have ever made in someone running for office‚ and I am making this investment at a high-risk‚ but critically important moment for his campaign‚" Ackman in a very lengthy social media post. Phillips‚ a lawmaker from Minnesota‚ launched a self-admitted long-shot Democratic presidential primary bid last year."I met Dean two months ago.
