5 Ways To Facilitate Better Conversations In Long-Term Relationships

Being in a long-term relationship can be rewarding but it can also become a bit mundane‚ especially when feel you know everything about each other.  How can you have better conversations that feel fresh and exciting? Here are five ways you and your partner can improve dialogue and make everyday life more special. The Importance Of Regular Conversation A key aspect of long-lasting partnerships is continuous and substantial dialogue. Conversations are more than just sharing information. The practice brings people closer and creates a bond that goes beyond physical closeness. Communication isn’t about avoiding silence‚ but about taking advantage of moments for growth and transformation. Understanding the importance of frequent discussion marks your move towards converting everyday talks into significant heart-to-heart exchanges. If you’ve committed to spending forever with your long-term partner‚ engaging in healthy communication is key to a lasting relationship. Knowing how to discuss major topics with your partner is important. But‚ having better conversations in general about daily life also makes a huge impact in strengthening your bond. 1. Show Genuine Interest In Your Partner’s Day Diving into the details of your partner’s day can be a catalyst for stirring up engaging conversations. Your discussions can go beyond simple one-word-answer questions about their day. Explore their day’s peaks and valleys‚ the obstacles they navigated‚ or the small wins they celebrated.  This method enables them to feel understood and gives you insight into their feelings‚ thoughts‚ and experiences. Digging deep sets the stage for heartening‚ profound discussions. Every part of their day can become a special communication that strengthens your bond‚ from ordinary things to surprising events.  2. Explore New Activities Together Breaking away from your usual routine and diving into new activities can be a powerful‚ long-lasting conversation starter. Trying new things can give you plenty to discuss and create great memories. Some examples of new experiences include cooking classes‚ hiking‚ or visiting art exhibits. As you relish in these shared moments‚ you’ll find many topics springing up‚ from challenges to triumphs‚ and the hilarity of your shared blunders. These newfound experiences not only ignite better conversations but also strengthen your bond as you navigate unfamiliar territories together. Courtesy of Pavel Danilyuk (via Pexels) 3. Plan Future Dreams And Adventures Together Engage in lovely discussions that project you both into a shared future‚ sparkling with the magic of anticipation and possibility. Picture that dream vacation you’ve both been longing to take‚ brainstorm the layout of your ideal home‚ or discuss career aspirations and the steps you’d take to reach them. While exploring your dreams‚ you’ll uncover hidden aspects of each other’s personalities‚ hopes‚ and goals. Shared visions and plans bring people closer and inspire exciting conversations filled with hope and ambition. This topic isn’t just about painting a vibrant picture of the future. You’re harmonizing your dreams and deepening your understanding of what each other yearns for in life.  4. Discuss Current Affairs And Trending Topics Igniting the spark of dialogue in your long-term relationship can be as simple as staying in tune with the world around you. Discuss topics ranging from the latest box office hit to an ongoing political debate or even the latest advancements in technology. In these conversations‚ your thoughts and views can intermingle and collide‚ leading to lively discussions. These discussions not only enhance your intellectual bond but also let you understand each other’s viewpoints on societal contexts. Of course‚ if you have off-topic subjects‚ maintain those boundaries without completely closing the door on trending conversations. 5. Practice Active Listening Active listening plays a critical role in transforming mundane conversations into meaningful dialogues. Rather than just waiting for your turn to speak and preparing what you’ll say‚ truly listen to what your partner is discussing. Immerse yourself in their words‚ understand their emotions‚ respond thoughtfully‚ and remember the crux of their message. Paying attention shows your partner you value their thoughts and want to understand their perspective. In return‚ this openness fosters a deeper sense of trust and encourages more engaging exchanges. By actively listening‚ you establish a safe space where you make your partner feel heard‚ understood‚ and appreciated‚ rather than simply hearing words. This practice is a key to unlocking richer‚ more rewarding conversations. Being in a long-term relationship takes some effort to keep you out of boring territory. Use these tips to discover better conversations that keep your love strong.  This article was written exclusively for Love What Matters by Kate Fann. The DEI Rot In The Airline Industry Is Way Worse Than You Think

In December of 2022‚ a Boeing 777 operated by United Airlines took off from Hawaii in heavy rain. About a minute into the flight‚ the aircraft plummeted towards the ocean. It came just 750 feet from hitting the water at high-speed‚ which almost certainly would have killed all 280 people on board. In the end‚ the pilots saved the aircraft by a matter of seconds. For more than two months‚ no one heard about this incident. It was as if it had never happened. By the time mainstream news reports began appearing in February‚ more than two months later‚ United assured the public that the FAA had been notified and that an investigation would be forthcoming. Watch: Notice how there’s not much curiosity from the anchor about why this incident took so long for the airline to disclose to the public. There’s also not much of an explanation about what happened. It’s implied that the pilots may have made a mistake‚ because they’re getting more “training.” But what mistake did they make exactly? Late last year‚ we got something of an official answer. It turns out that‚ according to the NTSB‚ the captain called for the flaps to be retracted to the 5 degree setting‚ which is a normal setting for takeoff. But the first officer thought the captain had called for a 15 degree setting‚ so he selected that one. That misunderstanding caused a major problem because the plane was going far too fast for that flap setting. To avoid damaging the plane‚ the captain started to slow the aircraft while he tried to diagnose the problem. Instead of realizing his mistake‚ the first officer suggested that maybe the instruments were malfunctioning. The two pilots continued to troubleshoot the problem‚ and in the process they became disoriented as the plane quickly lost altitude. The pilots’ confusion continued until the plane blared an alarm telling them they were about to die if they didn’t apply maximum power and pull up. WATCH: The Matt Walsh Show Incredibly‚ both pilots of that flight are still employed by United Airlines. They nearly killed everyone on board through their incompetence‚ but that’s not disqualifying apparently. Beyond some basic information about their flying experience‚ we still don’t know much about these two pilots. For example‚ we know that the first officer has a total of 5‚300 hours of flying experience‚ which is respectable for his position. But at the time of the incident‚ he only had 120 hours in the Boeing 777. And according to a report by Tucker Carlson last year‚ which cited an anonymous source at United shortly after this near-catastrophe took place‚ this first officer was a “new hire” at the airline. Could that lack of experience have played a role? And more to the point‚ could either of the pilot’s identity have played a role in their hiring — or the airline’s refusal to terminate them after they almost steered a passenger jet into the ocean? We don’t know. We’re not allowed to know because the federal government and the airline don’t want us to know any more information about the identity of these pilots‚ or any of their pilots who are involved in near-disasters. There is an ongoing information blackout about these kinds of events‚ and it’s deliberate. But in their various public statements and press releases‚ United Airlines has made it very clear that they’re mainly interested in hiring pilots on the basis of skin color and gender‚ rather than competence. In fact‚ they participated in a Vice documentary back in 2022 about their DEI initiatives. Watch: So a couple of years ago‚ United decided that 50% of its new pilot recruits are going to be women or people of color. They’re promoting flight attendants to make that happen. Later on in that Vice documentary‚ it’s suggested that the point of this initiative is to alleviate the pilot shortage.  How’s that going? A few days ago‚ the conservative commentator Ashley St. Clair posed a few questions to United‚ based on some information she had received. Here’s what she wrote: “On July 29‚ a United plane was nearly totaled after a hard landing. Who was flying that aircraft? Was the co-pilot a former flight attendant who was FIRED and then rehired through United’s DEI program despite being on a list to not return to United? Am I correct that this individual failed multiple trainings including simulator training? Am I also correct that United has covered up this DEI disaster and many others?” Hey @united On July 29‚ a United plane was nearly totaled after a hard landing Who was flying that aircraft? Was the co-pilot a former flight attendant who was FIRED and then rehired through United’s DEI program despite being on a list to not return to United? Am I correct… — Ashley St. Clair (@stclairashley) January 5‚ 2024 United didn’t reply‚ which you may have noticed is something of a pattern. No one thinks we deserve to know anything about what’s going on in the cockpits of the planes that we’re flying in. You’re just supposed to assume everything’s fine‚ and that the flight attendants are transforming into master pilots at United’s training academy. But the more you look into the specifics of United’s diversity initiatives‚ the less solid that assumption seems to be. It turns out that United partners with several historically black colleges and universities‚ or HBCUs‚ as a way of recruiting pilots. One of the popular statistics-focused accounts on X‚ which uses the name i/o‚ noticed that two of the schools that United has decided to team up with — Delaware State and Elizabeth City State University — are‚ “in the bottom 2% of all undergraduate institutions in the United States.” Elizabeth State‚ the account noted‚ “had the distinction in the 1980s of being the only university in which the average SAT math score was lower than that score which would have been produced if a person had guessed ‘B’ on all the multiple choice questions on the test.” That’s a pretty sobering statistic‚ especially if you plan on flying United anytime soon. To be fair to United‚ they don’t just recruit from HBCUs with no standards. As a writer who goes by the pseudonym Peachy Keenan found‚ United also recruits from an organization called “Sisters of the Skies.” Yes‚ this is an organization that sends pilots to United Airlines‚ and their acronym is literally “S.O.S.” At least you can rest assured that they have a sense of humor at United‚ as your plane is plummeting to the ground. And it gets better. Watch: “If they see it‚ they can be it‚” at least as long as their parents can pay for flight school. That’s the message. Again‚ this is an organization that’s training the pilots that are flying commercial aircraft. This isn’t training‚ really. It’s like a kindergarten classroom. At no point are these people concerned about safety or competence. They want to put black women in the cockpit because they want to inspire more black women‚ and that makes them feel good — not because they think they’re getting smarter or better pilots.  This is not some P.R. stunt. United is actually following through with this. According to United’s latest corporate diversity report‚ of the 51 students that graduated from United’s first class of pilots‚ “nearly 80 percent were women or people of color.” So they vastly exceeded their target of 50%. They’ve almost completely eliminated white men in their training classes. We’re led to believe that this is progress. Pay no attention to the planes plummeting towards the ocean or smashing into the runway. To be clear‚ this is a problem that extends far beyond United Airlines. They’re maybe the most vocal about their DEI practices‚ but every airline does this. A few years ago‚ in February of 2019‚ an Amazon Air cargo plane — a Boeing 767 operated by a contractor called Atlas Air — plummeted into Trinity Bay near Houston. The reason for that crash? The first officer‚ Conrad Aska‚ accidentally pressed a button giving the plane a massive jolt in thrust‚ which pitched the nose up. Instead of reacting calmly to the situation‚ he panicked‚ and forced the control column all the way down. The plane broke through the clouds and disintegrated on impact with the water. CLICK HERE TO GET THE DAILY WIRE APP Conrad Aska never should have been flying that plane. Prior to joining Atlas Air and Amazon‚ he had worked for seven different airlines‚ where he developed a reputation for pressing random buttons in emergencies. He would always panic in the simulator and just lose all situational awareness. But airlines kept putting him in the cockpit anyway. That’s why‚ in its final report on the crash‚ the N.T.S.B. cited‚ “systemic deficiencies in the aviation industry’s selection and performance measurement practices‚ which failed to address the first officer’s aptitude-related deficiencies and maladaptive stress response.” What explains those “systemic deficiencies”? Well‚ we can’t say for sure. We do know that Conrad Aska was born in the Caribbean nation of Antigua. He was a black man‚ which certainly checks some diversity boxes. And we also know that Atlas Air’s website is full of platitudes about the importance of hiring candidates based on certain characteristics‚ like their race and gender. So‚ we can come to some unauthorized theories here about why Conrad Aska was flying that plane. None of them are encouraging. This isn’t to single out United or Amazon or Atlas. This kind of diversity hiring is endemic in the aviation industry. Keenan says she’s received several messages from pilots warning her of the danger in recent days. Here’s one of them: “Every airline has an informal pilot assignment program that makes sure their unfireable DEI problem children are always paired with adult supervision. These programs are maintained by aging boomers who are immune to the kool-aid. As these guys retire … every flight will be a roll of the dice.” This rampant DEI mandate doesn’t just extend to airlines. A few weeks ago on this show‚ when I predicted that we’re due for a major air disaster soon‚ I talked mainly about DEI-based hiring in air traffic control. There’s also a push to “diversify” the ranks of companies that manufacture and install various airline parts. That includes companies like Spirit AeroSystems (no relation to Spirit Airlines)‚ which manufactured that door that blew out on the Alaska Airlines flight over Portland the other day. Like United and Atlas Air‚ Spirit AeroSystems’ website is full of DEI propaganda. In fact‚ just days before the door blew out on the plane‚ Spirit executives were posting eagerly on LinkedIn about their next big diversity event. Meanwhile the company knew that they had more serious problems. Shortly before their door fell off a passenger plane mid-flight‚ Spirit AeroSystems was hit with a class action lawsuit in federal court. In the lawsuit‚ investors alleged that Spirit was aware of systemic defects in its products‚ but ignored them and falsified documents to hide them. In one instance‚ the lawsuit alleges‚ “auditors repeatedly found torque wrenches in mechanics’ toolboxes that were not properly calibrated. This was potentially a serious problem‚ as a torque wrench that is out of calibration may not torque fasteners to the correct levels‚ resulting in over-tightening or under-tightening that could threaten the structural integrity of the parts in question.” But the mechanics didn’t want to comply with the audit. According to the lawsuit‚ “Some mechanics would not even let auditors take such out-of-calibration tools‚ locking toolboxes or yanking them back out of the auditors’ hands to prevent the audit.” Obviously‚ if these accusations are even remotely true‚ they reveal some very concerning problems at a company that makes critical components for passenger planes. So how did things get so bad? It turns out that‚ according to the lawsuit‚ Spirit fired roughly 50% of its workforce in response to the COVID lockdowns. They terminated many “experienced mechanics” in response to the economic consequences of those shutdowns‚ according to the suit. How did Spirit decide who to retain after these completely unnecessary lockdowns? How did they decide who to hire after the lockdowns ended? Why did they keep the engineers who apparently don’t understand how to calibrate their torque wrenches? If you take Spirit AeroSystems at its word‚ they probably hired a bunch of “diverse” mechanics. That’s what all of their marketing materials and investor pitches would dictate. But the truth is‚ at this point‚ we can’t be more specific than that. Is it possible that a crack team of mechanics manufactured the doors on all these United and Alaska Air planes? As of now‚ yes it is. Maybe the fault lies not with Spirit‚ but with Boeing‚ which has been in decline ever since it made the decision to to outsource key elements of its business to overseas programmers and penny-pinchers in Chicago. Maybe Boeing installed the door improperly. But at a certain point‚ we’re entitled to some answers. We shouldn’t have to guess or speculate about this. We should know the qualifications and the identities of the people manufacturing and installing these airplane doors‚ just like we should know the qualifications and identities of the United pilots who are skimming the water with Boeing passenger jets. We shouldn’t have any doubts about their competence. We’re the ones who just funded the bailouts for all of these companies. We’re the ones risking our lives to board their planes. And‚ yes‚ the situation is that dire. Last night I put out a general invitation to commercial airline pilots to message me — anonymously‚ if they prefer — to tell me their firsthand experience of how DEI is impacting their profession. I’m still going through all of the messages — I received a lot of them — but what I can tell you is that‚ as I sit here today‚ I am not at all eager to ever board a plane again. The airline industry is in the process of actively making itself less competent and reliable. To an incredibly dangerous extent. When it comes to the pilots‚ the old guard — the masters of their profession‚ who were hired and promoted based on their skill alone — are still mostly in control. But not for long. Meanwhile the airline industry is hiding the truth and lying about the dangers that we face. Like the COVID cultists who wrecked the economy‚ the DEI cultists desperately don’t want you thinking about the downstream effects of their ideology. And as a result‚ every time an airplane takes off in this country‚ we’re getting closer and closer to discovering those downstream effects the hard way.

Ohio House Votes To Override GOP Governor’s Veto On Banning Gender Procedures On Children‚ Biological Boys Competing In Girls Sports

The Republican-controlled Ohio state House voted on Wednesday to override Governor Mike DeWine’s veto of a bill that would ban gender procedures for minors and prevent boys who identify as girls from competing in girls’ sports. After a 65-28 vote‚ Ohio House Republicans will now send the vote to the Senate. State lawmakers must come up with three-fifths of both the House and the Senate to vote for DeWine’s veto to be overridden and for the bill to become law. During the vote‚ many Ohio House Democrats wore dark-colored clothing and colorful pins or rainbow earrings to show their support for the LGBTQ community and to protest the Republicans’ support of overriding the veto‚ Fox 19 reported. Senate President Matt Huffman‚ a Republican‚ told NBC 4 that the state Senate will likely vote to override DeWine’s veto on January 24. Ohio House Bill 68‚ which was passed by the Republican-controlled Ohio General Assembly‚ was made up of two acts: the “Save Adolescents from Experimentation Act” and the “Save Women’s Sports Act.” The bill would ban transgender procedures on minors‚ such as double mastectomies on girls who identify as boys‚ and other genital procedures for children with gender dysphoria. It would also prohibit biological boys from competing in girls’ sports across the state. HB 68 passed mostly along party lines on December 13‚ with the Ohio House voting 62-27 and the Ohio Senate voting 24-8 to approve the legislation‚ but after issuing his veto on Friday‚ DeWine said he was concerned about the legal implications of signing HB 68 into law. “I truly believe that we can address a number of goals in House Bill 68 by administrative rules that will have likely a better chance of surviving judicial review and being adopted‚” DeWine said at a press conference‚ ABC News reported. DeWine defended his veto‚ arguing‚ “Ultimately‚ I believe this is about protecting human life.” “Many parents have told me that their child would not have survived‚ would be dead today‚ if they did not receive the treatment they received from one of Ohio’s children’s hospitals‚” the governor added. “I’ve also been told by those who are now grown adults that‚ but for this care‚ they would’ve taken their life when they were teenagers.” CLICK HERE TO GET THE DAILYWIRE+ APP Last Friday‚ DeWine signed a limited executive order banning transgender surgeries on children‚ saying in the order‚ “Although I vetoed … House Bill 68‚ I stated clearly in my veto message that I agreed with the General Assembly that no gender-transition surgeries should be performed on anyone under the age of 18‚ and I directed agencies under my purview to draft rules to ban this practice in Ohio.” The House’s vote to override DeWine’s veto of bans on gender procedures and boys competing in girls’ sports was praised by conservative leaders. “Today‚ the Ohio House did the right thing by overriding the veto of HB68‚” wrote Ohio Secretary of State and U.S. Senate candidate Frank LaRose. “We cannot‚ in good conscience‚ allow children to be subjected to irreversible medical procedures. And it is not safe or fair to allow boys to play girls’ sports. A majority of Ohioans agree with these common sense principles.” Logan Church‚ the political director of CatholicVote‚ in a statement shared with The Daily Wire celebrated the House’s vote and said his organization will continue to urge the state Senate to follow through. “CatholicVote is overjoyed to see the Ohio House of Representatives override Governor Dewine’s veto of House Bill 68‚” said Church. “Dewine has turned his back on the values of Ohio families‚ but we are grateful to have safeguards such as this to protect the future of Ohio’s children.”

GOP Defectors Blow Up House Vote Amid Spending Protest

GOP Defectors Blow Up House Vote Amid Spending Protest

A group of just over a dozen House Republicans helped bring the chamber to a screeching halt on Wednesday in yet another stand against leadership. Thirteen GOP lawmakers joined with all voting Democrats to help defeat a resolution that would have allowed consideration of a trio of measures that were scheduled for debate this week. Votes for the rest of the day got cancelled. “The House is essentially frozen again. The GOP leadership cannot bring up any bills that are not already noticed on the suspension calendar. and conservatives just killed leadership’s ability to bring up any bills under a rule‚” Punchbowl News founder Jake Sherman said in a post to X. Among the defectors were Reps. Chip Roy (R-TX) and Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA)‚ members who have voiced opposition to a “topline” government spending deal struck between Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) and Democrats that the critics argue does not do enough to rein in the budget. Greene told CNN that “people at home” do not want Johnson “getting rolled” in negotiations. “That’s not what we want to see out of our speaker‚” Greene said‚” Otherwise what’s the difference [between] Nancy Pelosi having the gavel and us having the majority?” As 13 hardliners paralyze the House today in a revolt against Speaker Johnson's spending deal‚ one of those Republicans — MTG — told me that Johnson is getting "rolled" by Democrats. "What's the difference between Nancy Pelosi having the gavel and us having the majority?" pic.twitter.com/OjMxCSF6lI — Manu Raju (@mkraju) January 10‚ 2024 Another member who broke ranks‚ Rep. Andy Biggs (R-AZ)‚ posted to X‚ “No border? No spending‚” in an apparent reference to the ongoing push by Republicans to secure border security reforms as migrant crossings spike to record levels. A government shutdown looms as a two-step continuing resolution (CR) passed in November funds certain federal agencies through January 19 while others would get money through February 2. The GOP uprising seen on Wednesday is reminiscent of the revolt a small group of Republicans waged against then-Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) last year‚ which ended in him losing the gavel. Roy is even saying that he won’t rule out using the same “motion to vacate” mechanism that led to the no-confidence vote resulting in McCarthy’s ouster. Johnson indicated that he is not concerned about facing a similar fate. “I don’t think I’m in any jeopardy of being vacated. It’s not something I walk around and think about‚” the speaker told Fox News.

Police Investigation Clears Lauren Boebert Of Domestic Violence Allegations From Ex-Husband: Report

Law enforcement officials in Colorado announced this week that they have closed the investigation into Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) after her ex-husband alleged that she punched him in the face at a restaurant last week. Boebert’s ex-husband‚ Jayson Boebert‚ called police and claimed he was a “victim of domestic violence” and said that the congresswoman had “punched” him in the face several times at Miner’s Claim restaurant in Boebert’s district on Saturday‚ according to The Washington Post. Silt Police said that when they arrived on the scene‚ Lauren Boebert was “cooperative with law enforcement” during their initial contact with her while her ex-husband “was highly intoxicated‚ yelling at officers‚ and was uncooperative with the investigation.” “Although he claimed he had been punched in the face‚ officers observed no marks or injury on Jayson Boebert to corroborate he had actually been assaulted‚” the statement said. “Staff at Miner’s Claim restaurant requested Jayson leave the restaurant due to the level of disturbance he was creating. Officers requested Jayson Boebert to leave the restaurant multiple times; however‚ he was uncooperative and was physically removed from the restaurant by law enforcement personnel.” Police said that the restaurant had no video surveillance and no witnesses have come forward to provide any sort of a statement or video footage of the incident that substantiates any claim made by Jayson Boebert that evening. CLICK HERE TO GET THE DAILYWIRE+ APP “Furthermore‚ Jayson Boebert contacted Silt Police to recant any claims of domestic violence‚” the statement concluded. “Due to a lack of any evidence‚ the allegations of Domestic Violence against Rep. Lauren Boebert are unfounded and the investigation into Rep. Lauren Boebert is closed.”

A Country Without Borders Is Not A Country

Joe Biden’s illegal immigration crisis is real‚ and it is growing by leaps and bounds. In 2023‚ according to U.S. Customs and Border Protection‚ there were 3.1 million attempted border crossings at the U.S. southern border‚ and 600‚000 of those people entered undetected. That is an estimate by CBP. Those would be the known getaways. We have no idea how many unknown gateways there are‚ yet we know illegal immigrants came because there is camera coverage of large swaths of the American border. But we don’t always have Border Patrol agents who are sitting on every single camera all the time. The way it works is‚ border cameras are‚ essentially‚ loaded onto giant pylons‚ and four of them are pointed in all directions. But a Border Patrol agent who’s in charge of 20 cameras may not see some people when they rush into the country while he’s on a bathroom break. According to a New York Times chart‚ you had a minimum of 2.4 million people who crossed the U.S. on the border in 2023. Now‚ understand‚ by way of contrast‚ that during the entirety of the Trump administration‚ the number of border encounters during the Trump administration was 1.6 million. WATCH: The Ben Shapiro Show None of those 2.4 million people are going away. Once people are brought into the United States and they’re given a date to show up later‚ the vast majority of them never do — because why would they? They’ve been integrated into American society. They’re receiving whatever benefits they can. They just stay. That is what Joe Biden has done. There were executive orders in place under Donald Trump that prevented a lot of this‚ not only including Title 42‚ but also most prominently the Remain in Mexico program (the Migrant Protection Protocols). This program denoted that if someone showed up at the border and said‚ “I fear to go back to my home country‚” the Trump administration said‚ “OK‚ wait in Mexico; we’ll figure it out. We have to process you. You need to wait in Mexico‚ which means you’re not going to be released into the interior because there is a good chance you will have to show up for your court case and then you would be rejected. In the meantime‚ you can’t just disappear in Chicago or New York or Atlanta or Denver or wherever.” But Biden got rid of that immediately. So many illegal immigrants are now arriving on the east coast of New York where they’re being stored on football fields. And when there’s bad weather‚ they have to be moved somewhere. So in Brooklyn‚ a school was legitimately shut down. The students were told to learn from home because the school facilities had to be used to house illegal immigrants. It is the responsibility of the American government to protect America’s borders. A country without borders is obviously not a country. I recently went down to the border. The situation on the border is a full-scale disaster area. Border Patrol agents are being told not to actually police the border. They’re essentially acting as a ferry service for illegal immigrants‚ which is why we now have the amazing spectacle of illegal immigrants crossing the border and then sitting around while complaining the Border Patrol isn’t showing up fast enough. If Biden wanted to end the border crisis tomorrow‚ he could probably do so with a couple of executive orders. He’s not doing any of that. The immediate need is to close the border and then figure out what the hell to do with the people here. The need is to tighten up what it means to be a person who should receive asylum. As Steven Rattner notes in the New York Times‚ “We also may need to further limit the use of humanitarian parole‚ a problem expanded by the Biden administration that allows more migrants from places like Venezuela and Nicaragua to temporarily enter the country and apply for relief. As heartbreaking as it may be‚ we simply cannot take every refugee from every failed state.” CLICK HERE TO GET THE DAILY WIRE APP

Chris Christie Drops Out Of 2024 Presidential Race

Former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie announced on Wednesday that he is suspending his campaign for president after failing to gain enough traction in New Hampshire where he had staked his entire operation. Christie‚ whose campaign centered around attacking former President Donald Trump‚ made the announcement while speaking to supporters in Windham‚ New Hampshire. “I am going to make sure that in no way do I enable Donald Trump to ever be President of the United States again‚” Christie said. “And that’s more important than my own personal ambitions.” The 61-year-old slammed Republican politicians who refused to speak out publicly against Trump as “cowards.” He specifically called out Sen. John Barrasso (R-WY) and Rep. Tom Emmer (R-MN) — both of whom recently endorsed Trump — saying that he knows that both of them know better. Parents Sound Off On NYC’s Decision To Move Thousands Of Illegal Immigrants To High School Gym

Parents and politicians gathered outside of James Madison High School in New York on Wednesday to express their outrage after around 2‚000 illegal immigrants were transported to the school to spend the night due to high winds threatening a migrant tent camp.  On Tuesday‚ city officials transported the illegal immigrants from Brooklyn’s Floyd Bennett Field to James Madison High School as the city faced a storm causing high winds. The migrants flooding the high school resulted in an early dismissal for students on Tuesday and remote classes on Wednesday.  “The writing was on the wall the minute the city started being inundated with migrants‚” one mother of a student at James Madison told The New York Post. “It’s disgusting. It should not be put on us taxpayers.” The woman’s daughter added‚ “I do believe they are putting the life of people who are here illegally and not documented over my life. I am a 15-year-old girl at the school who wants to get her education and better her life‚ and she can’t come to school today because the day was interrupted by people who aren’t supposed to be here.” Elina Bekker‚ another mother of a student at the school said she was concerned that the city’s decision to move migrants to the high school will become “a recurring event.”  “We were concerned how will this affect those students in the future if it’s a one-time thing‚” Bekker said. “But if it’s going to be a recurring event‚ it’s definitely not acceptable. “The school should not be used‚” she added. “Our kids are supposed to be here feeling safe and able to learn. Many of our kids have Regents coming up in February [and] they just lost a day of school‚ a day of learning.” New York City Mayor Eric Adams visited the school Tuesday night after the illegal immigrants arrived‚ saying city workers were “doing a great job keeping asylum seekers safe and dry before they depart tomorrow morning.”  CLICK HERE TO GET THE DAILYWIRE+ APP On the ground at James Madison High School. Our city is owed federal support in this crisis‚ but turning our back on the most vulnerable is not what we stand for‚” Styer added. Many New Yorkers didn’t see it that way‚ however. NYC Republican Councilwoman Inna Vernikov blasted city and state officials on Tuesday‚ saying‚ “Our schools are not migrant shelters!” New York State Assemblyman Alec Brook-Krasny joined parents protesting outside of James Madison High School on Wednesday‚ arguing that the city’s decision to move migrants to the school is not the solution.  “Today I stood alongside my colleagues in the Assembly‚ and concerned parents for a Rally outside of James Madison High School. I have been very outspoken about placements of temporary migrant shelters in our communities and within our public schools‚” Brook-Krasny said. “We are a compassionate and supportive city‚ but not one New Yorker believes this is a solution. Our students will be our First Priority!” Today I stood alongside my colleagues in the Assembly‚ and concerned parents for a Rally outside of James Madison High School.
