Paul Stanley says he still feels disoriented after Kiss farewell

After 50 years on the road Kiss decided to retire in 2023 and Gene Simmons, for example, already toured a lot in 2024 with his solo band but Paul Stanley still didn't reveal his plans for the future in music. In an interview with Rock Nations (Transcribed by Blabbermouth), he says he still feels a little "disoriented" after the final shows. Paul Stanley says he still feels disoriented after Kiss farewell "I was gonna use the word 'adjustment'. There's no way to give that up and not feel a sense of, if not lost, kind of disoriented. It was time (to stop), and intellectually it made sense. But that doesn't mean that emotionally, it doesn't play a part in it. So, yeah, being home, as I am right now, is normal. What's not normal is I'm not going back out." "Kiss remains. We're so involved in what's going on now and the future and this phenomenal, mind-boggling Kiss avatar show. But, yeah, to not be up there — I see video from 10 months ago, 11 months ago, and it almost seems like a lifetime ago, because I've kind of come to grips with not doing that again. Star Child is forever — but me up there, that's done." "I would be lying to say that I'm the singer I was 20 years ago, 30 years ago. 50 years ago? Of course not. No prize fighter is the fighter that they were, no basketball player. I think that we've all earned the right, and always have the right, to decide what we do and for how long," he continued. "An audience has a right to stop coming. But the rest is up to the individual." He continued: "It's always interesting when I hear someone say, 'Oh, I wish so-and-so would retire from sports or from entertainment because I wanna remember them the way they were.' Well, if you wanna do that, stop watching. But to impose that will, it's ludicrous." "I'm good friends with singers who certainly have gone through similar things where you come to grips with what you still are and what you're not, and then you either find a way to make it work or at some point you say it's time to let go," Paul Stanley said. Kiss is one of the most influential and successful bands of all time. They sold an estimated amount of more than 100 million records worldwide. When Robert Plant tried to be a teacher but Bonham stopped him

When Robert Plant tried to be a teacher but Bonham stopped him

The singer Robert Plant was touring with Led Zeppelin in the United States back in 1977 when his son Karac died at the age of 5  due to a stomach virus. After that tragedy, the musician considered becoming a teacher to be more close to his family and John Bonham "saved" him from that idea as he recalled in an interview with BBC Radio 4 in 2022 (Transcribed by Rock and Roll Garage). Robert Plant recalls when John Bonham "saved him" from becoming a teacher "So I came back, gathered what was left, the shards of the family and tried to put it together. I didn't want to do anything after that. In that whole world, really. But time is time, momentum, encouragement and kindness from everybody. Especially John Bonham, he and his wife were really good to me at the time." "The kids were at School and I thought I could do much better than be a singer. I went to Forest Road where the Steiner Center is and then walked around. Then I got back and John Bonham was at the gate going: 'Come on!' I said 'No!' and he said 'Get in the car! Get in the car!'" "He was driving a six-door Mercedes with a chauffeur's cap on taking me to the pub in the back so he could never get nicked on the way home. Because the cops would always go: 'Oh, poor driver. He is driving some twerp around (laughs). He was magnificent, love him," Robert Plant said. They knew each other since they were teenagers [embed]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KqF3J8DpEb4[/embed] Plant and Bonham knew each other since they were only 15, when the drummer saw Plant playing with his band. Bonham came to him and said he needed the best drummer in the world if he wanted to go far in his career. It turns out, Bonham was right and he became one of Led Zeppelin's driving forces. The band came to an end after his tragic death in 1980 at the age of 32, only two years after the death of his friend and The Who's drummer Keith Moon, who died at the same age. Led Zeppelin became one of the best selling bands of all time. They have sold an estimated amount of 200 to 300 million records sold worldwide. The post When Robert Plant tried to be a teacher but Bonham stopped him appeared first on Rock And Roll Garage.

Phil Collins’ opinion Rolling Stones’ Charlie Watts

Charlie Watts became The Rolling Stones drummer in 1963, one year after the band founded and he reamined as the drummer until his death at the age of 80 in 2021. In his 58 years playing with the group he helped them to create some of the most influential albums from the history of Rock and Roll and the band became one of the best-selling of all time with an estimated amount of 200 million records sold worldwide. Over the decades and especially after his passing, many of his peers gave their opinion on him. One of them was the legendary Genesis singer and drummer Phil Collins. What is Phil Collins' opinion Rolling Stones' Charlie Watts Talking with BBC 6 Radio in 2016 (Transcribed by Rock and Roll Garage) Phil Collins picked the 5 drummers that he liked the most and talked about them. One of those musicians was Charlie Watts and he recalled a funny story he had with him. “When I did the big band in 98, this would have been, The Stones were playing or based in Paris, anyway. He called me and he said ‘You’re playing the big band show tonight and I’d love to come’. So I said ‘Please come’.” “He called just before we were supposed to leave and he said ‘I can’t leave my clothes. They arrived and I have to lay everything properly’ and I said ‘Ok’. This is an interesting look on Charlie Watts, you know. Anyway, he did turned up, he was the most style I’ve seen of any drummer,” Phil Collins said. [embed]https://www.facebook.com/AbsoluteClassicRock/videos/828169401210027/?t=2[/embed] After Watts' death in 2021 at the age of 80, Collins talked in an interview with Absolute Radio in 2021 (Transcribed by Rock and Roll Garage) about the view that Charlie had on life. Also about how he used to joke about what The Rolling Stones used to do. "Oh, he was lovely, very dry, you know. I mean, his classic line was you know: '25 years with the Stones... Well, it's been 5 years of playing and 20 years of hanging around.' You know, I mean, he had a lovely outlook on life in the Stones, I think. It's a shame (he died). He is 80 or he was 80 and nothing lasts forever, you know," Phil Collins said. After Charlie died in 2021, the band invited Steve Jordan to become their drummer. The only classic members of the band now are Mick Jagger, Keith Richards and Ronnie Wood. The post Phil Collins’ opinion Rolling Stones’ Charlie Watts appeared first on Rock And Roll Garage.

Europe Is Finalizing Preparations for a Gold Standard

by Jan Nieuwenhuijs, Activist Post: Countries outside the eurozone but inside the European Union, i.e., those that one day might join the eurozone—like Poland, Hungary, and the Czech Republic, are positioning for a new gold standard. To prepare for a monetary system based on gold, they are buying gold to equalize their reserves to the […]
