'You can't have woke comedy.  It sucks.' Joe Rogan says stand-up comedy is the 'last line of defense' against wokeism.

'You can't have woke comedy.  It sucks.' Joe Rogan says stand-up comedy is the 'last line of defense' against wokeism.

Joe Rogan said that "woke comedy" is impossible and criticized elites in an interview on his podcast with actor and director Taylor Sheridan‚ the creator of "Yellowstone." Sheridan was lambasting political correctness when Rogan launched into a brief criticism of woke comedy. "We say‚ you know‚ in the comedy world‚ we say we're the last line of defense‚ because this is where the woke meets the wall. The woke meets the wall with stand-up comedy‚" said Rogan. "You can't have woke comedy. It sucks. It's impossible. You can't‚ like‚ always punch up and cater to everybody. It's like no‚ that's not what's funny. What's funny is the f***in' weird things that people do and all of our hypocrisies‚ and all of our contradictions‚ all the chaos of being a human being‚" he added. "And if you want to never make fun of marginalized groups or never make fun of protected classes or never make fun of anybody that's downtrodden or disassociated or disaffected‚ you can't do that!" Rogan continued. "That's not stand-up comedy!" he emphasized. "Stand-up comedy has to be everything. It has to be everything that's funny‚ regardless of whether or not it's socially acceptable to make fun of those things." Sheridan had his own tirade that started against the movie "Forrest Gump‚" which he saw as simplistic. “This tottering f***ing idiot is the only guy to save the world? Everybody else around him‚ he’s just gonna go on a f***ing run across America‚ and everyone's gonna follow him‚ and that’s gonna heal the country?" said Sheridan."I was just like‚ ‘What is this s***?'” he added. Rogan's podcast is one of the most popular on the planet‚ but he has been targeted by many on the left over comments he's made contradicting political correctness and the woke agenda. A lot of the furor has been aimed at his pushback against the transgender movement. Here's part of the interview with Sheridan: Like Blaze News? Margaritaville cruise bartender accused of raping‚ impregnating married woman in cabin‚ forcing her to get an abortion

A Margaritaville cruise ship bartender is accused of raping a passenger in her cabin. The cruise passenger claimed she needed to get an abortion after being impregnated by the bartender. An anonymous woman‚ Jane Doe‚ from West Virginia filed a federal lawsuit against Classica's Margaritaville at Sea cruise line in West Palm Beach‚ Florida. Doe and a female travel companion – named "HB" in court documents – were aboard the Margaritaville at Sea Paradise ship headed to the Bahamas from Riviera Beach‚ Florida. On May 5‚ the women ordered alcoholic beverages on the ship. "They both charged the beverages to their cabin number‚ thereby providing crew members staffing the bar access to their shared cabin number and room key‚" the lawsuit states. After finishing their drinks‚ the women returned to their cabin around 1 a.m. The travel companion admitted that she had been "pretty intoxicated" after reaching her 10-drink limit. The filing claims that their 24-year-old bartender‚ Hoobesh Kumar Dookhy‚ snuck into their cabin in the middle of the night with the stolen key card. "HB stated that she was sleeping when she was awakened by a male subject touching her breasts‚ kissing her neck‚ and vaginally penetrating her‚" the lawsuit alleges. Fox News reported‚ "Dookhy and the women agree that he took his phone out to photograph the women‚ who slept naked‚ as he groped them. The woman filing a civil suit also claims that she took out her phone to videotape Dookhy sexually assaulting her friend for evidence after asking him to leave."Jane Doe reported the sexual assault to cruise ship staff the next morning. Investigators allegedly found HB's room key in the pocket of Dookhy's work vest‚ as well as a naked photo of her. Doe – who is married – claimed that she was pregnant several months later. She allegedly admitted that she hadn't taken a paternity test‚ but argued that she and her husband hadn't been sexually active at the time of the alleged assault because of medical reasons. Doe reportedly traveled out of state to get an abortion after the alleged sexual assault resulted in pregnancy. The woman is seeking $75‚000 in damages from Classica's Margaritaville at Sea cruise line. Doe claims to have "suffered physical‚ emotional and psychological pain‚” as well as “embarrassment‚ humiliation‚ sustained mental anguish‚” and “aggravation and activation of preexisting conditions‚ and sustained disability and the inability to lead a normal life."HB previously filed a lawsuit over the alleged sexual assault. However‚ U.S. District Judge Robin Rosenberg shot down her request for punitive damages. She is currently seeking compensatory damages from the cruise line. Doe's attorney‚ Spencer Aronfeld‚ told the Palm Beach Post that the two cases are "completely different" because Doe “became pregnant‚ and was forced to terminate the pregnancy from which she suffered serious complications."In an interview with FBI agents‚ Dookhy allegedly confessed to drinking alcohol the night of the alleged sexual assault. However‚ he initially claimed that he had participated in consensual sex with HB. Yet‚ Dookhy accepted a plea deal last year‚ where he avoided the possibility of life behind bars by pleading guilty to one count of abusive sexual contact.Dookhy is scheduled to be sentenced on Jan. 11. He faces up to two years in prison and a fine of up to $250‚000. A spokesperson for Margaritaville at Sea Paradise declined USA Today's request for comment.Like Blaze News? Brothers searching for missing sibling find a decomposing body in his storage unit the day after Christmas

Two brothers in Mississippi were shocked to find a dead body in a storage unit while looking for their missing brother‚ and they believe it might be his remains. Jackie and David Edmonds told WLBT-TV what happened when they went to their missing brother's storage unit behind Simmons Tire and Mini Storage on Broadway Street in Yazoo City. “When [David] unlocked the storage building‚ he got sick‚” said Jackie Edmunds. “He started throwing up because he smelled the body.” The two had been searching for their brother‚ Sam Edmonds‚ who had been missing for about a month. They found the body the day after Christmas. Yazoo City Police Chief Terry Gann said Yazoo County Coroner Ricky Shivers had not yet been able to make a positive identification for the body. “Because the family found this body‚ there is some speculation that this is our missing person‚ but right now‚ we don’t know that. We haven’t identified the body yet‚” Gann explained. He said there are other complications as well. He said the body had been sent to the state crime lab‚ but there was no pathologist initially available to investigate the remains.“There are currently 30 other autopsy cases ahead of this one‚" said Gann."It could be somebody else‚" said Jackie Edmonds. "But we don't know. We gonna wait until after the autopsy is done to find that out." Officials are considering elevating the missing person's case to a murder investigation‚ depending on what the coroner's exam finds. The other lead they are pursuing is a blue Ford Ranger truck that they believe was stolen from the missing man. “I hope they do catch the person who killed my brother‚” said Jackie Edmonds. Yazoo City is a town of about 10‚000 people about 40 miles northwest of Jackson. Here's a news report about the incident: Like Blaze News? Longtime NRA leader Wayne LaPierre announces resignation

Wayne LaPierre‚ who has been a fixture at the National Rifle Association for decades‚ will resign. He cited health reasons as the impetus for the move‚ according the organization."The National Rifle Association of America (NRA) announced today that Executive Vice President Wayne LaPierre announced he is stepping down from his position as chief executive of the organization‚ effective January 31. Long-time NRA executive and Head of General Operations Andrew Arulanandam will become the interim CEO &; EVP of the NRA‚" the group noted."With pride in all that we have accomplished‚ I am announcing my resignation from the NRA‚" LaPierre said‚ according to the organization. "I've been a card-carrying member of this organization for most of my adult life‚ and I will never stop supporting the NRA and its fight to defend Second Amendment freedom. My passion for our cause burns as deeply as ever."The resignation announcement comes shortly before a civil trial is slated to begin regarding a lawsuit lodged by New York Attorney General Letitia James against the NRA‚ LaPierre‚ and others‚ alleging that NRA funds were misused for personal benefits."LaPierre's resignation validates our claims against him‚ but it will not insulate him or the NRA from accountability. All charities in New York state must adhere to the rule of law‚ and my office will not tolerate gross mismanagement or top executives funneling millions into their own pockets. Our case will move ahead‚ and we look forward to proving the facts in court‚" James said in a statement."With respect to the NYAG's allegations‚ the NRA Board of Directors reports it has undertaken significant efforts to perform a self-evaluation‚ recommended termination of disgraced 'insiders' and vendors who allegedly abused the Association‚ and accepted reimbursement‚ with interest‚ for alleged excess benefit transactions from LaPierre‚ as reported in public tax filings‚" the NRA said in its announcement about LaPierre's resignation.Like Blaze News?
