A Yale psychiatrist said this week that it was “essential” for those who are triggered by the outcome of the election to cut off members of their family for the holidays who voted for President-elect Donald Trump. Yale University chief psychiatry resident Dr. Amanda Calhoun made the remarks on far-left MSNBC host Joy Reid’s show “The Reidout” while talking about the election. She said that the societal norm is that “if somebody is your family, that they are entitled to your time.” “And I think the answer is absolutely not,” she said. “So if you are going to a situation where you have family members, where you have close friends who you know have voted in ways that are against you, like what you said, against your livelihood, it’s completely fine to not be around those people and to tell them why, to say, ‘I have a problem with the way that you voted because it went against my very livelihood, and I’m not going to be around you this holiday. I need to take some space for me.'” She said that it “may be essential” for people’s mental health to “establish boundaries” with their family members over the results of the election. “People are concerned about their human rights, their existence, their safety,” she claimed. “And I think you know when we’re talking about people who are worried about, you know, getting gender affirming care. Senator Katie Britt (R-AL) demanded answers from two top Biden administration officials on Saturday over guidance from a now-fired Federal Emergency Management Agency employee who ordered relief workers in Florida to skip the homes of Trump supporters. In a letter first shared with The Daily Wire, Britt asked Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas and FEMA Administrator Deanne Criswell to provide answers about guidance from FEMA supervisor Marn’i Washington telling relief workers to “avoid homes advertising Trump” when offering relief in Lake Placid, Florida. This guidance was first reported on by The Daily Wire, which spoke with multiple government employees from the relief team who said the instructions led to at least 20 homes being skipped. “I am writing to express my outrage with recent press reports that, in the aftermath of Hurricane Milton in Florida, a Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) supervisor instructed relief workers to bypass houses displaying support for President Trump,” Britt wrote. Britt, the ranking member of the Senate Homeland Security Appropriations Subcommittee, said she wanted to know when FEMA found out about the guidance and what actions it had taken to ensure that it wouldn’t happen again. “It is simply outrageous that any FEMA personnel, let alone a supervisor, would condition aid to victims based on their political views,” she wrote. “I appreciate that Administrator Criswell has condemned these actions and fired the supervisor, but the American people need answers regarding how this happened and if anyone else was complicit, as well as assurance it will not happen again.” MATT WALSH’S ‘AM I RACIST?’ NOW STREAMING ON DAILYWIRE+ Britt asked the two officials if there had been any other whistleblower reports of homes being bypassed for political purposes. A young woman is approached by a man in a car who insists that she get in the car with him. As she tried to get away from him, he and the car suddenly vanished before her eyes. I received the following account:"When I was 17 I was very religious and wanted to become a Roman Catholic nun. I was going to join a convent in January and I graduated in May so instead of getting a short-term job I just volunteered and watched people's kids. Every Monday I would go to a food pantry and take the bus there from the same stop, but since it was only 4 miles away I would occasionally walk if the weather was nice.I was walking home one Monday and I walked past the bus stop that I would usually get off at if I were to take the bus. There was a convertible there waiting and as soon as I passed it the man in the car pulled up to me and said: "Hey, I know you! Let me give you a ride."He was literally the most regular caucasian baby boomer-looking guy ever, so I thought it was possible I knew him because I met a lot of people in the Church and that's the only reason I really engaged him. I told him I didn't need a ride since I was close to my house. He kept insisting I get in his car so he could take me home after taking me to lunch, then take me to his place.And he said, "Yeah, I know you, you're gonna go join a convent in January." I was weirded out by this because that was true, but I was growing more and more certain I didn't know him. So I asked him where we met and he said, "I met you in the grocery store, you were buying food for your Daddy."I immediately started walking away, keeping an eye on this guy and called my mom because I didn't have a dad. But the strange thing was that he and the car that he was in suddenly vanished! Into thin air as I was watching him!I never saw him again.I would have never shared personal information with him or anyone else.The experience made me paranoid.
