Yale Psychiatrist: It ‘May Be Essential’ For Kamala Voters To Cut Off Trump-Voting Family For Holidays

A Yale psychiatrist said this week that it was “essential” for those who are triggered by the outcome of the election to cut off members of their family for the holidays who voted for President-elect Donald Trump. Yale University chief psychiatry resident Dr. Amanda Calhoun made the remarks on far-left MSNBC host Joy Reid’s show “The Reidout” while talking about the election. She said that the societal norm is that “if somebody is your family, that they are entitled to your time.” “And I think the answer is absolutely not,” she said. “So if you are going to a situation where you have family members, where you have close friends who you know have voted in ways that are against you, like what you said, against your livelihood, it’s completely fine to not be around those people and to tell them why, to say, ‘I have a problem with the way that you voted because it went against my very livelihood, and I’m not going to be around you this holiday. I need to take some space for me.'” She said that it “may be essential” for people’s mental health to “establish boundaries” with their family members over the results of the election. “People are concerned about their human rights, their existence, their safety,” she claimed. “And I think you know when we’re talking about people who are worried about, you know, getting gender affirming care. We’re talking about people who are worried about being able to get access to women’s health care, to, you know, life saving procedures to abortions.” MATT WALSH’S ‘AM I RACIST?’ NOW STREAMING ON DAILYWIRE+ “That has a very, very devastating downstream effect on one’s mental health,” she added. “And when, you know, as a psychiatrist, the child psychiatrist, but I also work with adults, we also see a lot of children who are born to parents who are struggling. They might have mental health issues, and those children sometimes develop very severe behavioral problems, suicidality, and I have a lot of concerns about the support that those kids are going to have going forward.” WATCH: Yale University child psychiatry fellow Dr. Amanda Calhoun went on MSNBC to encourage people to shun their family members over the holidays for Voting for Trump: “If you are going through a situation where you have family members or you have close friends who you know have voted… pic.twitter.com/eoPpnsckkT — ALX ?? ‘Learn Your F-ing Lesson!’: Patricia Heaton Unloads On Media For Preying On Women During Election

Actress Patricia Heaton unloaded on media for fomenting fear and anxiety ahead of the 2024 presidential election and especially for targeting the most vulnerable people, many of them women, and convincing them that their lives were in literal danger when President-elect Donald Trump was declared the winner. Heaton shared her thoughts in a video posted to X on Saturday, and in addition to calling out the media, she suggested that those who had been part of spreading the fear should “get back on the air” and tell people that the world was not really going to end. WATCH: Reality check pic.twitter.com/ClHhJC6XOj — Patricia Heaton (@PatriciaHeaton) November 9, 2024 Heaton began by noting that she’d just returned after spending a week in Israel — and that she would have much more to say about that at a later date — and she believed Trump’s election would be good for the Jewish people. She then turned her thoughts to the wild responses she’d seen on social media after Vice President Kamala Harris lost her bid for the presidency, and she largely blamed media for convincing so many that a Trump victory would translate to physical danger for them and their families. MATT WALSH’S ‘AM I RACIST?’ NOW STREAMING ON DAILYWIRE+ “I’ve also seen a lot of the response videos — especially from women who are crying, screaming, shaving their heads, saying they’re going to be jailed or rounded up or killed or hunted or whatever — ugh,” Heaton said. “We need to pray for them. And I just want to say to all you folks who feel that way, don’t make politics or identity groups your religion!” Heaton continued. “Only Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Put your faith in Him, not in men, not in man’s institutions, not in human institutions.” She went on to say that, while in Israel, she’d visited the sites where Hamas terrorists had assaulted, raped, tortured, and killed Israeli men, women, and children. “You’re fine here, you’re gonna be fine. Don’t worry about it.” Heaton pivoted to address media’s role in the way things had played out, blaming pundits and talking heads for effectively targeting certain segments of the population with their doomsday rhetoric regarding Trump. “To all these extremists that are allowed television time who told women that this is what is going to happen to them, shame on you! Shame on you!” she said. “Apparently, there are some really vulnerable people here who you targeted, and you fear-mongered to, and you need to go back on the air and tell them things are gonna be okay, tell them that they’re fine.” “And also, stop — stop saying that people who voted differently than you are quote-unquote ‘uneducated.’ Learn your f-ing lesson about smearing people who feel differently from you, who have different needs from you, and who have legitimate complaints. Quit dismissing them as ‘uneducated.’ When are you going to learn?” she concluded with a heavy sigh: “All right, have a great weekend.”

EXCLUSIVE: Senator Demands Mayorkas Answer Over FEMA Employee Guidance To Skip Trump Homes

Senator Katie Britt (R-AL) demanded answers from two top Biden administration officials on Saturday over guidance from a now-fired Federal Emergency Management Agency employee who ordered relief workers in Florida to skip the homes of Trump supporters. In a letter first shared with The Daily Wire, Britt asked Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas and FEMA Administrator Deanne Criswell to provide answers about guidance from FEMA supervisor Marn’i Washington telling relief workers to “avoid homes advertising Trump” when offering relief in Lake Placid, Florida. This guidance was first reported on by The Daily Wire, which spoke with multiple government employees from the relief team who said the instructions led to at least 20 homes being skipped. “I am writing to express my outrage with recent press reports that, in the aftermath of Hurricane Milton in Florida, a Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) supervisor instructed relief workers to bypass houses displaying support for President Trump,” Britt wrote. Britt, the ranking member of the Senate Homeland Security Appropriations Subcommittee, said she wanted to know when FEMA found out about the guidance and what actions it had taken to ensure that it wouldn’t happen again. “It is simply outrageous that any FEMA personnel, let alone a supervisor, would condition aid to victims based on their political views,” she wrote. “I appreciate that Administrator Criswell has condemned these actions and fired the supervisor, but the American people need answers regarding how this happened and if anyone else was complicit, as well as assurance it will not happen again.” MATT WALSH’S ‘AM I RACIST?’ NOW STREAMING ON DAILYWIRE+ Britt asked the two officials if there had been any other whistleblower reports of homes being bypassed for political purposes. She also asked if help had been offered to those people in Lake Placid whose homes had been skipped. She also asked what reasons FEMA had for allowing people to skip homes when canvassing neighborhoods. “Any disaster funding provided by Congress must be made available to all Americans who are victims of presidentially declared disasters, and cannot be conditioned or delayed based on their political views,” she wrote. Numerous state and federal lawmakers have demanded investigations into FEMA following The Daily Wire’s report, including Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, who ordered his state’s Division of Emergency Management to investigate the incident.

Kelly Clarkson Sings Emotional Reba McEntire Cover & Fans Are “Never Gonna Stop Crying”

When Kelly Clarkson auditioned for American Idol more than two decades ago, she had no idea how her life would change. Reality TV was becoming more popular, and Idol was the first of its kind. Millions of people watched their favorites perform week after week. Kelly was only 20 years old and skyrocketed to fame. She’s won Grammys, MTV Music Awards, and People’s Choice Awards since. Today, she’s a 42-year-old mom with an Emmy-winning talk show. Life is very different, but she is the same person America fell in love with. One of our favorite parts of her show is Kellyoke, where she sings her favorite songs. Recently, Kelly Clarkson performed Reba McEntire’s You Lie, and fans fell in love. Kelly Clarkson Is A Huge Reba McEntire Fan Stars have their favorite performers just like us, and Kelly loves Reba. In 2008, the pair recorded a duet of Because Of You that quickly became a fan favorite and garnered a Grammy nomination. They also worked together on The Voice. Kelly said of her mentor at the time, “I love doing it in this capacity because she’s helped me tons musically as an Artist.” During Kellyoke, her rendition of Reba’s You Lie brought many fans to tears. One fan wrote, “Your voice is the only instrument that ever needs to be heard. When you sing accompanied solely with keyboards or guitar your voice shines even brighter, even with a depressing song. I can listen to you all day! Thank you for continuing your Kellyoke when you relocated to NY.” This fan wants an album, “Reba captivated me with this decades ago with this, and Kelly just brought me to tears. Of course, she always does. Really wish she (Kelly) would put out a cover album of all Reba’s greatest.” This Reba McEntire fan adored Kelly Clarkson’s version of You Lie. “Nothing but respect for Reba, I love her so much. But KELLY… OMG… That is theee best performance of that song ever. ‘You Lie’ and I cry… Yes a 250lb retired Trucker from Alabama cries when a song is sang to pefection…” You can find the source of this story’s featured image here.
