Intel exec says Arrow Lake launch ‘just didn’t go as planned’

Illustration by Alex Castro / The Verge Reviews of Intel’s new Arrow Lake-based Core Ultra 9 200S-series processor have been lackluster, specifically when it comes to gaming performance, but Intel says that’s not the end of the story. Its new chips should be performing better, and the company will have an ETA on getting them there soon, according to Robert Hallock, Intel’s VP and GM of client AI and technical marketing, in a new interview with HotHardware’s Dave Altavilla and Marco Chiappetta. Intel was up-front in saying these new chips wouldn’t beat AMD’s chips for gaming. But reviewers’ findings have been unexpectedly poor. Despite some efficiency gains like those noted in Tom Warren’s Verge review of the Core Ultra 9 285K, the new chip seems to lag behind even Intel’s... Continue reading…

Treasure Trove of Rare 17th-Century Coins Discovered in Poland

In a remarkable find near the town of Pomiechówek, Poland, a father and son from the Triglav Historical and Research Association, Sławomir and Szymon Milewscy, have unearthed a hoard of rare 16th and 17th-century coins valued at approximately half a million zlotys. Collaborating with the Polish Association of Searchers "Husaria," the discovery was part of an exploration project initially focused on finding traces of a Roman-era trade route. However, instead of ancient roads, they stumbled upon a treasure trove with immense historical and material value, reports Nauka w Polsce (PAP). Hidden Romanian Treasures– A Cursed History The History of the Piast Dynasty, the First Rulers of Poland The Coins: Rare European Thalers and Patagons The treasure, containing 17 coins in remarkably preserved condition, includes silver thalers and patagons from regions such as Saxony, Brandenburg, Tyrol, and the Spanish Netherlands. The collection spans from 1604 to 1641, representing a blend of European mints from the Thirty Years' War era. Among the coins are: Read moreSection: ArtifactsOther ArtifactsNewsHistory & ArchaeologyRead Later

BREAKING: Taylor releases new song: ‘I Picked the Wrong Person… Again’

NASHVILLE—It’s heartbreak season once again for pop superstar Taylor Swift, who, following a recent bout of reflection, has allegedly set her pen to paper for another epic breakup anthem after realizing she’s chosen the wrong person yet again. “It was an honest mistake,” said a friend of Swift’s, explaining that Taylor has been going through old text messages and Spotify playlists, piecing together all the red flags she definitely missed. “There were early signs, like when she didn’t memorize every lyric to All Too Well, but Taylor just didn’t want to believe it.” pic.twitter.com/SxL6wJgGcl— Zealous Memes (@Zealous_Memes) November 6, 2024 In an Instagram Live video with fans, Taylor briefly teased a verse from her latest creation. “It’s more vulnerable, more authentic,” she said while strumming her guitar. “Like, ‘Why do I do this, when it’s all gonna burn / Picking wrong people is just my thing to unlearn.’ You know?” Fans on social media have already coined this new phase of her career as “Swift’s Self-Reflection Era” and are eagerly anticipating her next project, tentatively titled Another Round of Red Flags. Lyrics: (Verse 1) We had something special, a love so true But I picked the wrong person, and it all fell through Her cackles were loud, and her joy was fake I thought our love would last, but it was another mistake  (Chorus)  I picked the wrong person, now our love’s undone  I’m going to miss that cackle; she lost and Trump won  She may be almost as dumb as me,  we gave it a shot but Now it’s time to accept defeat Sometimes you need to know when to say when Oh yeah I picked the wrong person … again (Verse 2) She wanted to be unburdened by her inflation,  But our love all crumbled, like a broken nation .  On her yellow school bus, she was taking action  But our hearts were drifting, in different directions  (Chorus)  I picked the wrong person, now our love’s undone  I’m going to miss that cackle; she lost and Trump won  She may be almost as dumb as me,  we gave it a shot but Now it’s time to accept defeat Sometimes you need to know when to say when Oh yeah I picked the wrong person … again (Bridge) Is her joy genuine, or just a facade? A mask she wears to hide her true emotions Her cackling laughter, does it mask her pain? Or is she truly happy, without much of a brain?  (Verse 3) I thought she would win but she swung and she wiffed, Like an empty yellow school bus, she drove off a cliff  (Chorus)  I picked the wrong person, now our love’s undone  I’m going to miss that cackle; she lost and Trump won  She may be almost as dumb as me,  we gave it a shot but Now it’s time to accept defeat Sometimes you need to know when to say when Oh yeah I picked the wrong person … again (Outro) So I’m moving on, with a heavy heart.  A brain like AOC’s and Eric Swallwell’s farts.  With verbal diarrhea, she spent every red cent. Thanks for the cool million you paid for my endorsement The post BREAKING: Taylor releases new song: ‘I Picked the Wrong Person… Again’ appeared first on Genesius Times.
