Calls for Unity Are a Terrible Idea

People are talking about unity, but that’s a “no.” Democrats are already looking for ways to stop the agenda. Pelosi is meeting with the House Democrats to see if they can keep Republicans from taking House seats. Newsom is preparing lawfare. We must strike quickly. The media has already begun their attacks. We talked to […] The post Calls for Unity Are a Terrible Idea appeared first on www.independentsentinel.com.

McCormick Declares Victory In Pennsylvania; Pressure Mounts For Casey To Concede

Republican businessman Dave McCormick on Thursday declared victory in the U.S. Senate race in Pennsylvania against his opponent, incumbent Sen. Bob Casey (D-PA). With 99% of the votes counted, McCormick was up on the three-term Democrat by more than 30,000 votes following President-elect Donald Trump’s victory in the state. “McCormick is up 30,679 votes with more to come, as ruby red Cambria County is still outstanding,” said Elizabeth Gregory, McCormick’s communications director. “While votes continue to be counted, any way you slice it, Dave McCormick will be the next United States Senator from Pennsylvania,” she added. Casey has faced growing calls from Republican senators to concede the race since he does not appear to have a shot at overtaking McCormick in the vote count. MATT WALSH’S ‘AM I RACIST?’ NOW STREAMING ON DAILYWIRE+ Sen. John Thune (R-SD) told CNBC on Thursday that he believes the seat in Pennsylvania was a done deal for Republicans and that it was time for Casey to concede. We’re still closely monitoring several races—we’re confident @DaveMcCormickPA has won in Pennsylvania, and the race will be called. Sen. Casey should concede. pic.twitter.com/OdPEGq0cM5 — John Thune (@johnthune) November 7, 2024 Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AR) called for Casey to concede in a post on X: “Senator Bob Casey should concede to senator-elect Dave McCormick.” Senator Bob Casey should concede to senator-elect Dave McCormick. — Tom Cotton (@TomCottonAR) November 7, 2024 Sen. Bill Hagerty (R-TN) also posted on X that it was time for Casey to concede: “Bob Casey’s campaign website says he ran to ‘protect our democracy.'” “Now’s his chance by honoring the will of Pennsylvania voters,” he said. “He lost. He knows he lost. He needs to concede to Senator-elect McCormick.”

Kamala Harris Offered A Four-Year DEI Seminar. America Said No.

I’m not a professional election strategist. Nor am I a scholar of political campaigns and the psychological tactics behind their success. Despite both these holes in my resume, I’m willing to go out on a massive limb and make a bold statement about the election result we’ve just witnessed: if identity politics isn’t dead, the American people just dealt it a truly devastating blow. Whether you’re a conservative seeking the end of race politics, or a progressive trying to get outside your echo chamber to understand the extent of the electoral shellacking your agenda’s just experienced, it’s time to look at Kamala Harris’ failed campaign and answer the question: is her loss despite her DEI credentials, or because of them? Let’s start with the basic observations. Kamala Harris was a DEI pick — this term, despite the many accusations of racism attached to it, was more than deserved. Picked for her gender, and also at the behest of advisors urging Joe Biden to pick a black running mate, Harris had the opportunity to rise above both this less-than-ideal recruitment method and also her complete lack of experience running in a general presidential election. She didn’t have to run a DEI campaign. Running a pro-abortion, economically ignorant campaign paired with an inability to articulate basic policy tenets and an unwillingness to handle any audience that wasn’t already in the bag for her would have been enough. But a second look at some of Harris’ closing gambits reveals that the shiny toy of race-baiting was simply too bright to say no to. Rewind to October, when Harris called in the big guns to deal with her struggles reaching black male voters. And by big guns, I mean the biggest gun — Barack Obama attended Harris’ Pittsburgh to issue some tough talk to the Democratic Party’s errant voter base. “My understanding, based on reports I’m getting, is that we have not yet seen the same kinds of energy and turnout in all quarters… as we saw when I was running,” spat Obama, with the subtlety of a father about to lecture his children about doing chores with a cheerful attitude. And parental might just be the best term for Obama’s pathos — the former president spoke bitterly about how reluctance to support the foundering Harris campaign “seem[ed] to be more pronounced with the brothers. Part of it makes me think that, well, you just aren’t feeling the idea of having a woman as president.” Obama continued to beat the dead horse of presumed misogyny, with a side strategy of racial solidarity thrown in for good measure. “Women in our lives have been getting our backs this entire time,” he told the Pittsburgh audience. “When we get in trouble and the system isn’t working for us, they’re the ones out there marching and protesting.” The identitarian beatings from Obama will continue until morale improves. The message from the Harris campaign through the course of this election cycle has been simple: get over your concerns about the content of this candidate’s character and start judging by the color of her skin already. When criticisms of Harris arose in the past, Biden’s chief of staff was quick to dismiss them as the products of racism and sexism. During the campaign, Harris’ allies like Maryland’s Wes Moore were quick to tie her electoral fate to America’s racial reckoning. Now, Democratic acolytes like David Axelrod are calling for a renewed look at how racialism influenced Trump’s victory — and conveniently making no mention of how racial obsession landed the Democratic Party with such a profoundly lackluster candidate. Harris, like countless racialist candidates before her, employed the clever dichotomy of race politics. If she won, it was a victory over racism, and more race obsession must follow to root out the racism that remains. If she lost, not only was it indicative of racism from white voters, but apathy from the kind of minority voters that one black Alabama pastor lambasted as “ignorant stupid negros” on the sign outside his church, in a stunning display of self-aware political persuasion. The alternative is that maybe, just maybe, the Democratic Party’s racial premises are increasingly being rejected wholesale. Kamala Harris’ campaign failed for the same reason DEI is failing in the modern corporate and academic sphere — it’s becoming profoundly unclear what the value add of mere racial diversity is, taken on its own, to business, academia, or politics. The elevation of pure identity politics, pursued without regard to character or qualification, into the classroom and boardroom has led to widespread mission drift and counterproductive institutional policies. The electoral arena, unsurprisingly, is the same. Kamala Harris’ campaign held out the weaknesses of identity politics to American voters and threatened 4 years of lecturing if her weaknesses were not rewarded with success. It’s a testament to the character of the American people, of both genders and all races, that they didn’t take that threat seriously. * * * Isaac Willour is an award-winning journalist focusing on race, culture, and American conservatism, as well as a corporate relations analyst at Bowyer Research. ‘What Will The Future Hold?’: MSNBC Host Pearl-Clutches, Says U.S. Voted To ‘F-Around And Find Out’

MSNBC host Stephanie Ruhle accused the American people of voting to “f around and find out” in Tuesday’s presidential election, joining a slew of others across legacy media who were openly fretting in the wake of former President Donald Trump’s sweeping victory. Ruhle, who was widely panned for her open endorsement and softball interviews of Vice President Kamala Harris, dropped the mask entirely during a Wednesday segment in which she also accused billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk of transitioning the United States from information to “misinformation” with the purchase and overhaul of Twitter/X. WATCH: MSNBC’s Stephanie Ruhle tries to gaslight the American people: “This country is winning. I want to know why so many people in this country are feeling like we’re losing. Whether it is the economy, immigration, or for lack of a better term, ‘wokeism,’ we have now let… pic.twitter.com/6igahaa74C — Ryan Saavedra (@RealSaavedra) November 7, 2024 Ruhle began the segment by claiming that the 2024 election was not about Trump or Harris, but rather, about the people — people whom she argued had ignored obvious economic prosperity when they voted overwhelmingly for Trump. “This is about a huge portion of our population who rejected the current system and what we have to solve for is why. We are the most prosperous and powerful nation in the world. This country is winning. I want to know why so many people in this country are feeling like we’re losing,” she said. MATT WALSH’S ‘AM I RACIST?’ NOW STREAMING ON DAILYWIRE+ “We have now let misinformation become the accepted information. It is washed over us. Elon Musk, he buys Twitter and then he uses it almost exclusively to be a propaganda machine. And we’ve accepted it,” Ruhle complained over the ominous chyron that blared in all capital letters, “THE DAY AFTER.” “We’ve accepted a narrative that despite an actually great economic recovery, the vibes don’t feel good. So we want to reject it and get something else,” Ruhle continued. “And the person we are now betting on to change all of it is Donald Trump, a man who did two almost impossible things,” Ruhle added, shaking her fist for emphasis. “He won the American presidency twice, and he drove a casino into the ground. What will the future hold now that America has just decided that we’re going to f around and find out?”

Democrats Spent $9 More Per Vote Than Republicans — And Kamala Still Lost

Vice President Kamala Harris and her allies outspent former President Donald Trump and Republicans by nearly $600 million, a disjunction that did not translate into victory. Harris and allied outside groups spent around $1.7 billion, compared to $1.1 billion by Trump and allies, according to OpenSecrets.  Based on the number of votes tallied thus far, that means Democrats spent $24 for every Harris vote while Republicans spent $15 for every Trump vote. It’s not the first time Trump defeated a candidate who outspent him In 2016, the Hillary Clinton campaign and its allies outspent Trump by 78%. In 2020, Joe Biden’s side outspent him by 49%. The figures suggest that big money operations may no longer be the key to securing victory in a presidential election. Post-election news reports said that despite Harris raising more than $1 billion — in addition to more than $600 million from outside sources — the campaign is now $20 million in debt. The Harris campaign spent $430 million on media buys and production, and $26 million on text messages, according to Federal Election Commission filings. More than $100 million each was disbursed to Gambit Strategies, Bully Pulpit Interactive, and Dupont Circle Strategies.  Most of Harris’s outside spending — about $400 million — came from Future Forward USA, according to OpenSecrets. The group, designed to accept contributions larger than the campaign could legally accept, was funded by multi-million dollar donations from people like LinkedIn founder Reid Hoffman, Facebook cofounder Dustin Moskovitz, Google’s Eric Schmidt, and Ilinois’ Jay Pritzker. A union representing government workers also chipped in $1 million. Elon Musk’s America PAC, by comparison, spent some $130 million on Trump’s behalf.

Adam McKay’s Break from Democrats: New Path in Progressivism and Activism

Adam McKay’s departure from the Democratic Party highlights increasing ideological discontent within American politics. This is especially true on the hard left in the wake of Harris’s loss. Many are stunned by Trump’s success. McKay’s Political Reorientation Adam McKay, the acclaimed director behind films like “Vice” and “Don’t Look Up,” recently declared his intent to exit the Democratic Party in response to Donald Trump’s victory in the 2024 presidential election. Dissatisfied with the Democratic Party’s political strategies and priorities, McKay expresses interest in joining either the Green Party or the Working Families Party, which are more closely aligned with his progressive and environmental activism values. McKay’s decision emerges amidst broader public discontent with the Democratic Party, as public figures like Christina Applegate and Ariana Grande voice their dissatisfaction. McKay criticizes the Democrats for missteps, including their strategy of “lying about Biden’s cognitive health” and “embracing fracking,” questioning their overall election strategy. Adam McKay said “It is time to abandon the Dem Party" after Donald Trump won the election over Kamala Harris: "I’m registering Green Party or Working Families. But am open to ideas."https://t.co/4mxDg9BHTP — Variety (@Variety) November 6, 2024 A Critique of Democratic Policies and Practices McKay voiced criticism over the Democratic Party’s handling of key issues, ranging from President Biden’s withdrawal efforts to the lack of public healthcare emphasis. His disappointment extends to their stances on the Gaza conflict and Middle East policies, which he believes contributed to a loss of votes, particularly in predominantly Arab-American regions. Additionally, McKay criticized Kamala Harris’ political collaborations with Liz and Dick Cheney. This dissatisfaction has propelled McKay to demand accountability from Democratic leadership, whom he accuses of prioritizing political optics over substantial issue-based solutions—a common grievance among many progressives today. Adam McKay is going scorched earth on the Democratic Party after Kamala Harris’ loss to Donald Trump in the presidential election. https://t.co/5xIy0J1SwC — The A.V. Club (@TheAVClub) November 6, 2024 McKay’s Advocacy for Change McKay is known for endorsing progressive candidates such as Bernie Sanders and for his satirical films that critique the political and economic landscape in the U.S. He believes real change mandates leadership from a proper left-wing democratic socialist leader, emphasizing the necessity of breaking away from the existing two-party system in pursuit of meaningful policy reforms. His recent remarks underscore this sentiment, marking a broader call for reshaping and realigning political strategies. McKay’s outspokenness not only amplifies current frustrations within the Democratic Party but also reflects an urgent call for more dynamic and courageous approaches to governance, especially concerning environmental sustainability, healthcare, and education. As McKay and other influential figures reconsider their political affiliations, the stage is set for increased discussions around the future of progressive politics in America. A Tiny Dinosaur Met A Giant Dinosaur—And For A Moment, All Was Right In The World

Sometimes, we wish we could look at the world with the same wonder as small children. Every day is an adventure, and they often wake up ready for fun. Childhood goes so quickly, and parents try to make those days memorable. One of the greatest joys for many kids is dressing up for Halloween. Having the ability to choose your costume based on your current obsession is simply the best. We have to admit, the smaller the child, the more exciting it can be to watch them dress up. One little girl chose a dinosaur costume. And when she saw another dinosaur in the wild, she flipped. @eeememe16 Roar roar im a t-rex #halloween ♬ Halloweentown Theme – Retrospectre The People In Dinosaur Costumes Had The Best Halloween Ever Her mom posted a video of her in a pink dinosaur outfit ready to trick-or-treat. While walking down the street, the pint-sized dinosaur saw another dinosaur costume and stopped in her tracks. An adult T-rex waved, and she waved back. It was clear the two were kindred spirits. The video has 3 million views on TikTok, and people love the darling interaction. The mom set the video to music from Halloweentown, giving it an even higher cute quotient. Someone wrote, “Oh my goodness, look at the tiny little trick-or-treating bucket!!” This person agreed, “So stinking cute. Love how the little one is waving to the big dinosaur.” This mom hopes to have a similar future experience with her daughter. “My daughter and I, probably in the future.” It also gave some people the feels, like this person who adored the dinosaur costume. “So precious I think I’d literally cry.” And this one who got a case of, “baby fever!!!!.” The source of this story’s image can be found here.
