Election Day is here. Voters are heading to the polls to cast their ballots for Donald Trump or Kamala Harris in one of the nation’s most historic presidential races.

Google said Tuesday it fixed an error that was causing a “where to vote” panel to appear when searching for Vice President Harris and Sen. JD Vance (R-Ohio).  The search giant said the panel was triggered for certain searches, such as “where to vote for Harris” or “where to vote for Vance,” because Harris and Vance are also both names of U.S. counties. 

X owner and Trump supporter Elon Musk reposted a message on Election Day claiming Google is helping Harris voters find polling places, while not doing the same for Trump voters, but the search giant is doing no such thing. At about 3 p.m. EST on Tuesday, Musk reposted a conspiracy theory on X, the social media site he owns, that falsely claims Google is giving Kamala Harris an unfair advantage.

Vice President Harris and former President Trump face the moment of truth on Election Day as voters around the country head to the polls. The race has remained stubbornly deadlocked for weeks, with many pundits acknowledging it’s essentially a jump ball. The Hill and Decision Desk HQ’s polling aggregate finds Harris and Trump tied nationally at 48 percent.
