Election Day 2024 live updates

Vice President Harris and former President Trump face the moment of truth on Election Day as voters around the country head to the polls. The race has remained stubbornly deadlocked for weeks, with many pundits acknowledging it’s essentially a jump ball. The Hill and Decision Desk HQ’s polling aggregate finds Harris and Trump tied nationally at 48 percent.

CNN: “The math doesn’t work. The Democrats are down 1.7 million early votes in the battleground states in urban areas.”

CNN: “The math doesn’t work. The Democrats are down 1.7 million early votes in the battleground states in urban areas.”

We’re still waiting for our first results to start coming in as polls close on Election Day, but we have something a little different this year….a wave of early voting (“bank your vote”) on both sides. Not just “vote by mail” this is early, in-person voting and it’s giving us some early indications of how things might pan out. And it’s bad news so far for Democrats with even CNN admitting:  “The math doesn’t work (for Kamala)….” Take a look: “The math doesn’t work. The Democrats are down 1.7 million early votes in the battleground states in urban areas.” “They are down 1.4 million votes in the battleground states among women voters.” “Rural voters have overperformed early by 300,000.” “Democrats have to win their… pic.twitter.com/zarBQ7RY7o — Kyle Becker (@kylenabecker) November 5, 2024 “The math doesn’t work. The Democrats are down 1.7 million early votes in the battleground states in urban areas.” “They are down 1.4 million votes in the battleground states among women voters.” “Rural voters have overperformed early by 300,000.” “Democrats have to win their races early. Republicans generally win them on election day.” “The margins don’t add up right now for the Democrats in any of these battleground states,” @marc_lotter said. You can see that math is considered ‘hate speech’ to these triggered CNN journos The New York Post reports more information about early-voter information: Arizona Returned mail and early-vote party registration: Republicans up 8 points. Relative to 2020: Republicans are up 9 points. Early voting in the Grand Canyon State closed Nov. 1. Men comprised about 50% of the votes for Republicans and 40% for Democrats, according to the data shared with The Post. Other groups have reported apparent advantages for Republicans here, too. For instance, there have been 924,524 GOP ballot returns, relative to 736,569 for Democrats, according to early-vote data compiled by UpLift Campaigns. Georgia The Peach State doesn’t have voter registration information for its early votes. Looking at data from Democratic analyst Tom Bonier, the African American early vote and mail turnout dipped 7% relative to 2020. Early voting in Georgia stopped Nov. 1. Its turnout soared to 4,004,588 both through early voting and absentee voting by mail this year, compared to the 2,697,822 early voters four years ago, according to data from the Georgia Secretary of State’s office. Michigan The Wolverine State similarly lacks voter registration information for its early votes. But the Trump campaign is touting data suggesting that in-person early voters represent about 32% of the pre-Election Day votes cast and that its supporters typically favor in-person voting. In-person early voting is new in Michigan. More than 2.58 million of the over 7 million people registered to vote in Michigan have cast early votes, according to data from the Michigan Secretary of State’s Office. North Carolina Returned mail and early-vote party registration: Republicans up 1 point. Relative to 2020: Republicans are up 9 points. This appears to be the first time Republicans have ever clinched the early vote in North Carolina. Data from Bonier suggests that African American mail and early-vote returns have sunk 22% relative to 2020 here. Men comprised about 37% of the Democratic support and 49% of Republican support. In-person early voting in the Old North State stopped Nov. 2. There have been about 4.4 million early votes cast out of the roughly 7.8 million registered voters in North Carolina, including 1,478,496 for Republicans, 1,436,861 for Democrats and 1,524,094 without a party registration, according to data from the University of Florida’s Election Lab. Nevada Returned mail and early-vote party registration: Republicans up 4 points. Relative to 2020: Republicans are up 8 points. Early in-person voting was closed off Nov. 1. Roughly 42% of Democratic votes came from men and 52% from Republicans. Across the board, Nevada saw about 1,077,441 voters turn out early, including 406,705 from Republicans and 363,595 from Democrats, according to data. Pennsylvania Returned mail and early-vote party registration: Democrats up 23 points Relative to 2020: Republicans are faring 22 points better. The Trump campaign believes that Democrats’ early-vote advantage in the Keystone State has slipped from past elections, with total absentee ballots plummeting about 29% relative to the 2020 cycle. There have been at least 1,739,606 early votes cast in Pennsylvania, including 971,615 from Democrats and 571,725 from Democrats, per the University of Florida’s Election Lab data. Wisconsin The Badger State lacks voter registration information for its early votes. Still, the Trump campaign believes that early votes and mail-in ballots have slipped 23% since 2020 and that mail-in ballot requests are down 52% from 2020. There have been at least 1,338,728 early votes cast in Wisconsin, according to data from the University of Florida’s Election Lab. There are more than 4.7 million registered voters there. According to data from the University of Florida’s Election Lab, around 76 million early votes have been cast nationwide. This contrasts with the 252 million early votes recorded during the 2020 election. Historically, early voting has tended to benefit Democrats, while Republicans have generally performed better with in-person voting.

Expect Trump To Be Ahead, Then “Blue Shift” in Dead of Night; WI Dem Chair Says The Quiet Part Outloud

In what can only be described as either tone deaf rhetoric or intentionally projecting the plan in advance, the Wisconsin Democratic Party Chair has predicted the worst nightmare of Americans hoping for a “free and fair election”. According to Ben Wikler, we should simply EXPECT to see a “red mirage” that appears to show President Trump winning, but don’t be surprised when that victory is snatched away in the dead of night during an inevitable “blue shift”.  I wouldn’t have believed he actually said it if I hadn’t heard it myself — and he said it more than once! WATCH: MSNBC prepping for a “red mirage” where Trump will be ahead in swing states before a “blue shift” where Kamala ballots will be “introduced” in the “middle of the night” like in 2020. pic.twitter.com/30uNobBK4S — Natalie Winters (@nataliegwinters) November 5, 2024 That clip was shared by Natalie Winters on X: WATCH: MSNBC prepping for a “red mirage” where Trump will be ahead in swing states before a “blue shift” where Kamala ballots will be “introduced” in the “middle of the night” like in 2020. pic.twitter.com/30uNobBK4S — Natalie Winters (@nataliegwinters) November 5, 2024 As Winters pointed out, it certainly seems as if we are being prepped to accept a sudden dead-of-night shift from an obvious Trump victory, to a sudden Kamala Harris “win”.  I don’t have to say that this sounds familiar, but I will.  The difference is they need a better story this time; reasoning that sounds a little more logical to make it more plausible. The crazy thing is, that wasn’t even the only time he’s said it!  Yesterday he seemed downright giddy about it!  Check this out! NEW: WI Dem Party Chair: Expect to see a “Red Mirage” and then a “Blue Shift” in the “Middle of the Night.” Here we go again. BEN WIKLER: “We know that because Republicans blocked legislation that would have allowed the early processing of mail in ballots, we know that… pic.twitter.com/Oi3KoyfOhM — Western Lensman (@WesternLensman) November 4, 2024 “We know that because Republicans blocked legislation that would have allowed the early processing of mail in ballots, we know that because Republicans blocked that bill, we won’t get the final tally of those votes which will be overwhelmingly Democratic until the middle of the night.” “In 2020, it was like 3 or 4 in the morning, and that means we should expect a red shift where it seems like Trump is doing better than he is in fact, doing, and then, excuse me — a red mirage — and then a blue shift once those absentee ballot counts come in the middle of the night. Don’t be fooled.” “And don’t be alarmed if it seems like Trump is overperforming what you’d expect when you get to midnight, because there’s still about 100,000 ballots, kind of big cache of ballots that have yet to be reported in Milwaukee. Because people know that that’s coming. My sense is that they’re fairly calm about it. We can expect all kinds of shenanigans and bogus claims from Republicans.” The Wisconsin Democratic Party Chair is literally preparing the argument to be made that not only is this overnight “blue shift” to be expected — but it is actually the fault of the Republicans!  You seriously can not make this stuff up, and it blow my mind that I am actually writing this story on the afternoon of Election Day. According to a story in the Washington Examiner, Wikler made the comments on MSNBC, warning people not to believe their own eyes if it appears that President Trump is winning! Wisconsin Democratic Party Chairman Ben Wikler predicted that if it appears that former President Donald Trump is winning his state, it will be a temporary “red mirage.” Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris are battling for the state’s 10 electoral votes on Tuesday. Wikler appeared on MSNBC to make the argument that once the results start pouring in and Trump looks to be in the lead, it is not to be believed. “So, in Milwaukee, you’ll see 100% of precincts reporting before you see the numbers that come out of those early votes in person, and those absentee ballots, which, my guess is, are heavily weighted toward Harris supporters,” Wikler said. “So, that means that you’re gonna see a red mirage, where it seems like Trump is doing better than he actually is because they haven’t counted and reported those absentee ballots yet, and then the blue shift when those ballots are introduced to add to the totals. That could be in the middle of the night. It certainly was in 2020.” Trump lost Wisconsin in 2020 after winning the state in 2016. Polls are open across Wisconsin until 8 p.m. Central. Voters who are in line by that time will be allowed to vote. And if you think this guy is just telling it like he sees it, no whitewashing the reality or attempting to prep America for a potential gaslighting event, here’s what he posted about 15 minutes before I published this story. Have been stopping by canvass launch locations in the Madison area between shifts today to deliver Greenbush Bakery donuts (the best!) and check on vibes. Everywhere, they’re magnificent. Everyone has stories of non-Dems voting for Harris. Nobody has stories of Dems for Trump. pic.twitter.com/RFQ5W2fw2A — Ben Wikler (@benwikler) November 5, 2024 “Everyone has stories of non-Dems voting for Harris.  Nobody has stories of Dems for Trump.” – Ben Wikler I am too old and too wise to imagine any longer that someone in his position makes a statement that patently false — literally the reverse of reality — unknowingly.  These folks know exactly what they’re doing.  There is an intentional attempt to keep alternate options on the table in case, as we’ve been saying all along, President Trump actually destroys the record books and completely owns the electoral map.  Keep your eyes open, and your mind sharp — things are looking good, but this isn’t over yet.
