Sophisticated genAI products need more than voice, like ChatGPT's Advanced Voice Mode, to become helpful assistants. They also need more than just access to your computer screen. The AI will also need its own "eyes" to quickly look at things around you when asked for information. You can do that right now by taking photos and uploading them to ChatGPT. Where Apple's AI is concerned, the iPhone 16 will soon get Visual Intelligence. The feature lets you quickly turn on the phone's camera to ask the AI questions. Then there's Google with its Lens technology, currently infused with Gemini, to get answers about the world around you. But the best approach currently available to users is probably the Ray-Ban Meta glasses that feature built-in cameras so Meta AI can see the world around you. While I'm not going to switch to Meta AI anytime soon to use these AI-centric smart glasses, I'd love for Apple to come up with a similar concept. Maybe it would be a precursor to the more sophisticated AR glasses that Apple will likely develop in the more distant future to replace the iPhone. As fans and supporters take in Frank Fritz’s passing from a month ago, a source revealed details about his struggle with opioid addictions, which was the reason he got fired from American Pickers in 2021. Fritz left the show to undergo back surgery in 2020; however, he never returned, leaving his partners, Mike Wolfe and Danielle Colby, to carry on the program. Fritz was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease in the ‘90s, though it took him years to make it public in 2013. His treatment included medication that weakened his bones, hence, when he broke his back, he had to do surgery. Fritz became addicted to his painkillers and, eventually, alcohol. Fritz conceded, issuing a public statement in response to being fired while looking back on his friendship with Mike. The ruby slippers worn by Judy Garland’s Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz are being put up for auction by Heritage Auctions in Dallas, Texas, with early bidding starting at £425,000. The lucky collector will go home with the prized pair of shoes on December 7, at a potential payment of  £1.5m. The sequined low-heeled shoes are one of five pairs and were worn by Garland at 17 for the ‘30s classic, with her name also written on the inside. They will be sold alongside Margaret Hamilton’s Wicked Witch Hat, which is estimated at  £77,000.
