Teen Mom’s Refreshingly Candid Conversation With Pastor Stepdad Isn’t What You’d Expect
When this pastor found out that his stepdaughter was going to become a teen mom, his reaction probably wasn’t what most people would expect. As he told the young woman in a heart-to-heart, he was more “scared” than anything else! However, this didn’t keep him from supporting his daughter and accepting his new grandchild with open arms. Kiera Johnson filmed an incredibly wholesome interview with her stepfather about her pregnancy.
In her touching video, the teen mom asked her pastor stepdad to describe his experience during the emotional roller coaster that ensued once he found out his stepdaughter had a baby on the way. Apparently, he received the news in a slightly roundabout way. When Kiera learned that she was pregnant, the first person she told was her stepbrother, the pastor’s son. This young man told his mother, who was the pastor’s ex-wife. As soon as she found out, she informed her ex-husband.

“I wasn’t mad,” the pastor recalled in the interview. “I was scared.”
Although he had plenty of things to worry about for his stepdaughter’s sake, his congregation’s reaction wasn’t one of them. He knew the people who attended his church would never judge the teen mom. After all, he’d been preaching to them that “everybody has mistakes, everybody has issues” for a very long time.
As the man explained to his stepdaughter, he’d learned a very important lesson about acceptance from his father, who was also a pastor. When he was a boy, there was a young woman in his own hometown who was pregnant. At the time, the church elders were very upset by the situation. That’s when the pastor’s dad told him something that he would take to heart.
“Don’t ever forget this, son, that the only difference between that young lady and those elders is that she got caught, they didn’t,” the older man had said.

Just as the pastor expected, his congregation gave Kiera their full support when they found out she was pregnant. In fact, they threw the teen mom an absolutely fantastic baby shower!
Throughout this precious interview, Kiera was holding her adorable baby in her arms. Her stepdad was clearly smitten with the infant. When asked about his current feelings toward the situation, his answer was simple.
“I wouldn’t change a thing,” he said.
