Bruce Kulick talks about Kiss lip-syncing during final tour

The former Kiss and Grand Funk Railroad guitarist Bruce Kulick answered a fan question at the Spooky Empire event in Orlando, Florida about Kiss being accused of using backing tracks during their farewell tour. He said that he doesn't like when people use backing tracks if they cannot sing like before anymore. However, he said that Paul Stanley at least was making people happy. Bruce Kulick was Kiss' member from 1984 to 1996. Bruce Kulick talks about Kiss lip-syncing during final tour "(Transcribed by Blabbermouth) "I didn't study all the (recordings) — I know there were people doing video proof and the whole thing, and I know that there's plenty of video out there that shows what was happening with backing tracks. I know at one point (longtime KISS manager) Doc McGee finally let it out that that's what that was happening. And I always felt like, quite honestly, KISS is much more than just that, and they wanted to do this show and they were going to try to do it any way they did. And it's not fair for me to judge on it." "All I know is they made a lot of people happy. I do prefer when people — like I know Jon Bon Jovi doesn't wanna perform if he can't sing. But I can't fault Paul for going out there and putting on a hell of a show, even if it was with some of these — the help, shall we say, okay? So, it was a weird thing." After five decades on the road, Kiss announced their retirement in 2023 after two final shows at the Madison Square Garden in New York City. Paul Stanley still hasn't announced any solo projects but on the other hand, Gene Simmons has been touring as a solo act since the beginning of 2024. Famous musicians react to the death of Quincy Jones

The legendary conductor, arranger, record executive and producer Quincy Jones passed away at the age of 91. According to his publicist, the artist passed away peacefully at his home in Bel Air, Los Angeles. His relatives released an official statement, saying: “Tonight, with full but broken hearts, we must share the news of our father and brother Quincy Jones’ passing. And although this is an incredible loss for our family, we celebrate the great life that he lived and know there will never be another like him." Following the news of his death many famous musicians shared a special tribute to Jones. He had an incrredible career in music and was best known for being the producer of Michael Jackson's "Thriller". Famous musicians react to the death of Quincy Jones Paul McCartney "Dear Quincy Jones has passed and left those of us who knew him feeling sad. He was supremely talented, and I felt privileged to have known him for many years. He was friends with George Martin, the Beatles’ producer and, between the two of them, produced some very fine music. Quincy or ‘Quince’ or ‘Q’, as he was known, always had a twinkle in his eye and had a very positive, loving spirit which infected everyone who knew him. His work with Michael Jackson is, of course, legendary and he had so many other strings to his musical bow. My main recollections of him were always the private moments that we shared, and I will never stop thanking Nancy for always arranging to visit him when we were in Los Angeles. These visits were fun and inspiring. His long career stretches back to the early days when he was a trumpet player, then a band leader, then a producer of many great records. But it is as a friend I would like to remember him. We always had fun in his presence and his legend will continue through the years, but it is those private moments we were lucky enough to have with the great man that I will always remember fondly. We send our love and sympathies to his family and all his many friends." He pointed me toward the greatest parts of myself. He defended me. He nurtured me. He encouraged me. He inspired me. He checked me when he needed to. He let me use his wings until mine were strong enough to fly." Quincy was a legendary talent whose contributions to music spanned generations and genres. What Michael and he achieved over a decade-long partnership is unmatched, producing “Off the Wall,” “Bad,” and, of course, “Thriller” that remains the biggest selling album of all time. In addition, Michael, Lionel Richie and Quincy collaborated with multiple superstars to produce the charity single, “We Are The World” that raised more than $60 million to fight famine in Africa. But it was Quincy’s role as a father that was the most important to him. Condolences to all of his children. Rest in Peace, Q. You will be missed." Genius is a discription loosely used but Rarely deserved. Point blank, Quincy was the MAN. I won my 1st Grammy with Quincy and I live with his Wisdom daily. Brian May recalls Queen dealing with bad reviews of the first album

Queen co-founder and guitarist Brian May recalled in an interview with Guitar how the band dealt with the harsh reviews of their debut album, Queen I, released in 1973. At the time, a brutal NME review described the record as a 'bucket of urine.' May explained that being part of a band was crucial because they felt the reviewers were wrong, and they supported each other to keep going. He noted that, as a solo artist, he might have just 'laid down on the floor and cried. Brian May recalls Queen dealing with bad reviews of the first album “We looked at some of the reviews for the Led Zeppelin albums that had been out at that time, some of which were appallingly bad. And we thought, well, if they can run these people down, we shouldn’t be too worried about being run down ourselves.” "Being a band is a great help. I think if I’d been a solo artist, I think I’d have laid on the floor and cried. It was bad, but we had the four of us and it’s like, ‘screw these guys, we know what we’re doing’. That saved us,” Brian May said. The critics were certainly wrong at the time since Queen proved in the following decades they were one of the greatest bands in history. Formed also by Roger Taylor, John Deacon, they became one of the best-selling bands of all time. The British group sold an estimated amount of 250 to 300 million records worldwide. Nowadays formed by Brian May (Guitar) and Roger Taylor (Drummer), Queen is currently promoting a remixed version of their debut album. The record has songs like "Keep Yourself Alive", "Liar" and "Seven Seas of Rhye..." (Instrumental).
