President Trump Open To Banning Some Vaccines, Report Says

According to NBC News, President Trump hasn’t ruled out banning some vaccinations in his second administration. The outlet reports that he will consult Robert F. Kennedy Jr. on the subject. “Well, I’m going to talk to [Kennedy] and talk to other people, and I’ll make a decision, but he’s a very talented guy and has strong views,” Trump said, according to NBC News. “Do you think, do you want him to be formally in the cabinet, like head of HHS, and do you think he’d be able to make it through the senate confirmation process?” NBC News national correspondent Dasha Burns asked Trump. “Well I’m not gonna talk about that but he’s going to have a big role in the administration,” Trump said. “He wants to, day one, get fluoride out of our water. Would you be on board with that?” Burns asked. “Well, I haven’t talked to him about it yet, but it sounds okay to me. You know it’s possible,” Trump said. He said Kennedy was “going to work on health and women’s health,” and two sources close to the Trump campaign have told NBC News he might play a prominent role in battling “chronic childhood disease.” On Friday, Kennedy tweeted that on its first day in office, a Trump administration would push to ban fluoride in water, claiming it is “industrial waste” that leads to problems like cancer and other diseases. “On January 20, the Trump White House will advise all U.S. water systems to remove fluoride from public water. Fluoride is an industrial waste associated with arthritis, bone fractures, bone cancer, IQ loss, neurodevelopmental disorders, and thyroid disease,” RFK Jr. announced. Kennedy Jr (@RobertKennedyJr) November 2, 2024 In his post, RFK Jr. referenced an interview The Highwire conducted with Michael Connett. “Fresh off a historic win against the EPA over the use of fluoride in drinking water, lead attorney for the plaintiffs, Michael Connett, Esq., discusses the decades-long concealment of the significant harms fluoride poses to human health and its implications for the future of water fluoridation,” The Highwire wrote. “In this interview on @HighWireTalk, I discuss the risks from accumulating too much fluoride in our bones, including arthritis, hip fracture, and skeletal fluorosis, and how the diagnostic standards for fluoride bone disease are woefully out-of-date,” Connett said. Kennedy, a prominent skeptic of vaccines, has suggested in the past that some vaccines could be taken off the market. “Well, I’m going to talk to him and talk to other people, and I’ll make a decision, but he’s a very talented guy and has strong views,” Trump said when asked whether banning certain vaccines could be a possibility under his administration. Kennedy is the founder of an anti-vaccine group Children’s Health Defense and has argued the 13 separate agencies under HHS, including the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Food and Drug Administration and the National Institutes of Health, are in desperate need of reform.
