Former acting ICE Director Tom Homan’s comments on CBS News’ “60 Minutes” may have gone viral, but the retired government official says the network selectively edited out important information. Homan told Fox News’ “Evening Edit” anchor Elizabeth MacDonald that his full interview with CBS was two hours long, and the information they decided to cut was determined by the pre-conceived narrative they wanted to run, MacDonald said on X. “Tom Homan, former acting ICE director under Trump, says 60 Minutes made massive edits & censored its 2-hour [interview with] Homan because it had a biased agenda to attack Trump about deportations & to protect Biden-Harris,” MacDonald wrote on social media. “Homan says 60 Minutes came into the [interview with] a pre-determined angle about fascism, but that it edited out what he said about deporting terrorists caught crossing and violent criminal illegal aliens and gang members.” “That includes, he says, editing out his info on deporting criminal illegal aliens and gang members accused of murder, rape, armed robbery, kidnapping, sex and drug trafficking and more,” MacDonald continued. I went in to talk about why we need a secure border. The damage they [Biden-Harris] have done to this country, why this is such a huge national security issue. Of course, most of that didn’t make it to the final cut. Liz: And what didn’t make it to the final cut? What did they cut out? Tom: About the national security threat on the border. About how many, you know, suspected terrorists have been arrested crossing the border. People on terrorist watch lists. [60 Minutes] also edited out the amount of fentanyl coming across that killed a quarter million Americans. They [edited out] a 600% increase in sex trafficking. I talked about all of this. We didn’t talk about, you know, the criminals and the gang members that have come across, Tren de Aragua, they didn’t talk about everything that’s meaningful to the American people. We talked about it, but it didn’t make the final cut. It’s almost a two-hour interview. We talked about all of that, Liz. MacDonald added that Homan told her he discussed illegal immigrants coming into the U.S. “from 181 different countries” but that was edited out as well. “They [60 Minutes] came in with a plan,” Homan said, according to MacDonald. “They wanted to show that this massive deportation operation was going to be inhumane. It was going to separate families.” “It’s going to be, you know, akin to the Nazis,” he added, according to the host. “And that’s why I spent so much time with them explaining how this would be a well-targeted enforcement plan to protect this country and remove national security threats and criminal alien threats.” Looks like CBS 60 Minutes has another major new editing and now a censorship controversy on its hands. So-called comedians Will Ferrell and Billy Eichner campaigned for Kamala Harris by hitting the streets as “Loud White Men for Kamala,” asking random people in New York City questions like whether they would have sex with a Trump supporter. Eichner shared a clip of the new campaign on his X page. “BILLY ON THE STREET IS BACK with WILL FERRELL!!! LOUD WHITE MEN FOR KAMALA!!! LET’S GO!!!!!!!” he wrote in the caption. He asks another woman the same question, prompting her to reply, “Blah.”  At another point, Eichner jokes that if Harris wins, she would “make Buddy the Elf Secretary of Christmas,” referencing Ferrell’s leading role in the 2003 comedy “Elf.” Social media reactions to the bit pointed out that the whole thing appeared forced and potentially staged. “I’m embarrassed I even watched this,” one response said.  “Every male in the video looks EXACTLY like I thought they would. almost (sic) like they were typecast actors,” another viewer observed. “Congratulations on turning more people off than you convinced,” another comment said.  “One of the cringiest things I’ve ever watched,” another person agreed. The “Anchorman” star released another video campaigning for Harris earlier this week, saying, “This election is going to be one of the closest in history. Your vote will make the difference.” “Last time, only a few thousand votes kept Trump out of office. And this time, we will hold you personally responsible, Gary,” Ferrell continues, referencing a character he played on “Saturday Night Live. 

The hosts of ABC’s “The View” responded on Wednesday to President Joe Biden’s comment — referring to former President Donald Trump’s supporters as “garbage” — by suggesting that the real problem was the Trump supporters who dared to object to the comparison. Whoopi Goldberg kicked off the conversation, arguing at first that the reaction to Biden’s remarks — made during a CNN appearance that aired in direct competition with Vice President Kamala Harris’ campaign “closing argument” speech — amounted to an overblown “pearl clutch” from the political right. Cohost Joy Behar weighed in a bit later, complaining that Republicans — after months of saying that Biden was cognitively impaired — suddenly wanted to take him at his word. Alyssa Farah Griffin, a self-described Republican who has spent most of her time on “The View” attacking Trump, said that regardless of interpretation, the optics were bad — and Biden’s comment had “stepped on” Harris’ major speech, the one that was designed to tie a bow on her presidential campaign. She then quickly backtracked to complain of an unfair double standard, saying that Trump’s supporters said nothing when Trump insulted people but then got offended when Biden insulted them. “Deplorables did matter. That comment from Hillary Clinton did matter,” Griffin explained. “It turned out she was right,” Goldberg interrupted, prompting a few laughs.

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) slammed President Joe Biden this week after Biden called tens of millions of Americans “garbage,” saying that Biden’s remark was indicative of what many top elected Democrats believe. Cruz made the remarks during his “Verdict” podcast with co-host Ben Ferguson while talking about Biden’s comment during a campaign call on Tuesday evening. “It really is a viciousness, and I want you to hear that quote again,” Cruz said. “‘The only garbage I see floating out there is his supporters,’ and that’s clearly what he says.” Cruz noted that the White House was “desperately trying” to erase the words out of Biden’s mouth by claiming that he didn’t really say that and that he was talking about an insult comedian who performed at a Trump rally over the weekend. “This is deplorables all over again,” Cruz said of an inflammatory insult that Hillary Clinton made against Republicans in 2016. “You remember Barack Obama saying that Americans are bitter and angry and clinging to their God and their guns,” Cruz continued. “I mean, this is what they think. It’s what Obama thinks, it’s what Hillary thinks, it’s what Joe Biden thinks. Cruz said the Democrats’ strategy was to call Trump “Hitler” during the final weeks of the election, but they did not anticipate the sitting president calling tens of millions of Americans “garbage.” “I don’t think this was planned,” he said. “It’s one thing to try to demonize Donald Trump. It’s another thing and a much stupider thing, to try to demonize America, to try to demonize half the voters in America. Now, they believe it. They believe that we’re garbage. They believe we’re deplorables. But they try to suppress that instinct, because they recognize that some of their voters, some of the voters they’re trying to presumably earn their votes.
