The original sitcom ran for eight seasons and had a bit of a cult following. Even those who didn’t watch the original run in the 1960s and 1970s likely caught reruns on Nick at Nite. We loved Samantha and that she used her magic for good and sometimes to teach the bad guys a lesson. Many witchy shows seem to be getting rebooted right now including, Sabrina the Teenage Witch and a new Hocus Pocus movie. The timing seems perfect to bring Samantha and Bewitched back. However, we might not see the comedy we once loved. Deadline reported the show could have a dark premise similar to Bel-Air, the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air reboot streaming on Peacock. According to Deadline, the project is a perfect marriage for Judaline and Sony. “Judalina joined the Sony family with her work on The Boys, and we are incredibly proud of her contributions to supporting creator Eric Kripke’s vision,” said head of creative at Sony Pictures Television, Lauren Stein. “She brings passion and authenticity and has been such a champion for the representation and growth of Latinx writers—we knew we had to make a deal with her! We are so excited to have her call Sony home and can’t wait for what is to come as we deepen our relationship.” No word on where Bewitched will land or when, but we can’t wait. Sadly, domestic violence is an epidemic in the United States. Many women find themselves in abusive relationships but fear there is no way out. They often remain with their abuses and continue to suffer. Celebrities are not immune to domestic violence, and Sarah Hyland recently spoke about her relationship, crediting Julie Bowen for helping her escape. Sarah accepted the Courage Award at Variety‘s Power of Women Honors in Los Angeles on October 24. People reported that she was honored for her work in animal welfare and domestic abuse awareness. He got me through the worst years of my life and I know I wouldn’t have been able to make it out without him.” Julie Bowen commended Sarah Hyland for her bravery and sad, “It took real courage for Sarah to ask for help,” she said. “Courage because getting out of her situation puts Sarah at risk at further physical, psychological, and emotional abuse. And courage because being a beautiful and successful actress brings a spotlight with it. Monday's episode of The View was especially wild, as the left-wing ladies get increasingly unhappy with the polls shifting toward Donald Trump's re-election. MSNBC Morning Joe co-host Mika Brzezinski joined the show to make an impassioned speech about the horrors of Trump. First, Ana Navarro mentioned Beyonce's speech at a Kamala Harris event in Houston. Mika presented Trump as a mortal threat to women's health.  It's not just women having babies. Women having cancer need this medical care and it's not available to them because of Donald Trump. If you don't believe Donald Trump on other threats he's making, look at what's happening to women now. Being forced to bleed out, being turned away from emergency rooms, having to come back and actually prove that they are dying enough to get the health care they need. You need to believe him, and these are the final hours. We need you. We need you, you, you, you, you and all of you to vote. That's the full Planned Parenthood commercial there. Then Navarro asked about the Trump rally at Madison Square Garden. "I think it was everything that you need to know about Donald Trump in one weird, white nationalist, Nazi-type rally, and of course, there’s historic parallels to where and when this happened,” Brzezinski said, alluding to a Nazi rally in 1939.  She continued: It's important to act on right now because this is the moment, and we won't have it again. Nobody gets a pass trashing America — Puerto Rican Americans. Nobody gets a pass degrading people. Nobody gets a pass degrading legal migrants and terrorizing people. The New York Times "news" team described Donald Trump's Madison Square Garden rally as a "Closing Carnival of Grievances, Misogyny and Racism." But what do you really think? There were a whole set of mudslinging headlines to cover the Sunday MAGA speeches in New York City. CNN.com by Stephen Collinson: "Trump unveils the most extreme closing argument in modern presidential history" POLITICO: "Trump’s New York homecoming sparks backlash over racist and vulgar remarks" MSNBC.com by Steve Benen: "With racist Madison Square Garden rally, Trump and his allies prove Democrats’ point" USA Today video: "Donald Trump rally at Madison Square Garden marked with racism and vitriol" The first problem here is to presume Trump's speeches are unique in "vitriol." Reporters also use words like "insults and grievances," as if Democrats never insult Trump or air grievances. They never sound vitriolic against Trump, with all the warnings of Fascism and the End of Democracy? CBS aired a mostly promotional interview with Kamala Harris, airing a screechy soundbite from Michelle Obama  lecturing men that if they don't "get this election right," that "women will become collateral damage to your rage." Harris added: " "We have seen extraordinary harm and pain and suffering happen, because of what Donald Trump did in intending, and effectuating and overturning of Roe v. Wade." Sounds like a grievance with a side of vitriol. The latest evening-news study by Rich Noyes found that since July 21, ABC, CBS and NBC have treated Democratic Vice President Kamala Harris to 78 percent positive coverage, while Donald Trump drew 85 percent negative coverage. Most of the evaluative statements TV watchers heard about Harris weren’t about any specific policy or controversy, and nearly all of these general evaluations (90%) were positive, celebrating the candidate without regard for what she would do as president. They avoid the policy specifics and celebrate Harris as a potential triumph over racism and sexism. Geoff Dickens underlined last week about how CBS (and the other networks) skipped story angles that would treat Harris as a controversial figure.
