The Left Threatens Violence If Trump Wins
Shocking.
Not.
If former President Donald Trump wins the 2024 election on Nov. 5, America needs to brace.
The American Left — they of the BLM 2020 summer of riots, the long-ago anti-Vietnam riots, the Occupy Wall Street riots, the race riots of the 1960s, and so much more are already threatening a cascade of violence if, as many predict, the former president does, in fact, cruise to victory in the 2024 election.
Note that word “election.” As in a free and fair election in which the American people go to their individual local polling places, pull the curtain behind them, and then cast their vote in secrecy.
That would be the very essence of democracy.
Yet one doesn’t have to be a rocket scientist to know that if they don’t get their way — a Harris victory — lefties are preparing for violence.

Now? Over there at Breitbart is this headline:
Dems Warn: Brace for ‘Unrest’ if Donald Trump Wins
The story quotes pollster Mark Halperin as saying this to Tucker Carlson:
“I think there’ll be some violence. I think there’ll be workplace fights. There’ll be fights at kids’ birthday parties. I think they’ll be protests and will turn violent.”

After the former president’s 2016 victory, they marched. Now, Democrats wrestle with how to mount an uprising — and whether to even do so.
The Journal reports:
By now America is well versed in the predictions of the political right’s potential response should Donald Trump lose on Nov. 5: Anxiety boils about another stop-the-steal effort to contest the outcome.
Far less scrutinized: How might the left reckon with a Kamala Harris defeat? How would the Democrats handle a result that many have for months proclaimed is an existential threat to democracy itself?
The sad fact here is that at its core, the American Left — not to mention the Left well beyond America’s borders — is at its core authoritarian, with a decided taste for violence.
Many people, including some on the right, can agree that the police force used to subdue George Floyd was overdone. That said, there was this on the reaction from leftist pro-Floyd supporters.
Police magazine did a survey of the “After-Action” police reports in the wake of the 2020 summer riots. It reported this in 2021:
The in-custody death of George Floyd last May triggered waves of protests and rioting unlike any the United States had seen since “The Long Hot Summer of 1967.” Almost every major American city experienced multiple protests, some unlawful, and some extremely violent. Some unrest is still ongoing, especially in Seattle and Portland.…
Last October the Major City Chiefs Association (MCCA) issued “Report on the 2020 Protests & Civil Unrest.” This report looked at unrest in the 68 largest municipal and county jurisdictions in the United States and Canada from May 25, 2020 to July 31, 2020. MCCA members say they experienced 8,700 total protest events during that roughly two-month period. One city, unidentified but likely Portland, reported 1,100 protest events during that period. The average number of protest events in a single jurisdiction was 128.…
Of the 8,700 protest events reported by MCCA members, 3,692 involved unlawful acts of civil disobedience. Five hundred of these occurred in a single city. Eight of the reporting cities—Columbus, Denver, Detroit, Memphis, Portland, Sacramento, San Diego, and Tucson—said that every protest during the May 25 to July 31 period involved unlawful but non-violent acts. Some of these protests may have also involved violence. MCCA reports that 574 of the protests it studied involved violence. One city accounted for 100 of these riots.
Looting and arson were common during the period studied. The 68 cities and counties reported that they experienced 2,385 incidents of looting and 624 incidents of arson, including 97 police vehicles burned.
More than 2,035 law enforcement officers were injured at the protests and riots during the time frame studied.
It takes little to no imagination to believe that if the election returns are in Trump’s favor some version of the Floyd riots will be launched.
Recall this news, from the 1968 Democratic Convention in Chicago. CBS ran this headline as it looked back in 2018 at the convention that had occurred 50 years earlier:

The look-back reported:
On August 25, Walter Cronkite noted on air, “The Democratic Convention is about to begin in a police state. There just doesn’t seem to be any other way to say it.”
And this addiction to violence in the debate over politics has never left the Left.
As here as reported by CNN the day after Trump’s 2017 inauguration:

There was more of this. But the bottom line is that whenever the activists of the American Left don’t like X event in America — an election outcome, a police overreaction, U.S. participation in a war, an economic result or whatever — violence comes into play.
And for those on the Left shrieking “What about Jan. 6!” No, there was no excuse for violence then either. Yet for the Left to be labeling Trump and his supporters as Nazis and fascists is nothing but signaling crazed leftists to commit violence.
But the hard fact of history is that over and over again across the decades it is the American Left that launches into violence when X event they do not like occurs.
Which brings us back to where we started.
The 2024 election is booked for Nov. 5 — a week from this date. And already, as noted in both the Wall Street Journal and then Breitbart:
Americans should prepare for “unrest” if former President Donald Trump completes the greatest political comeback in modern American politics…
Whatever happened to voting — and going home to watch the results on TV? Then accepting the results and getting on with life?
