Elderly Man Wakes From Five-Year Coma, Mentally Stuck as 24-Year-Old

An extraordinary event has taken place in Italy. Luciano D’Adamo, 63, who spent five years in a coma following a car accident, suddenly woke up to a world transformed. Now, he faces the challenge of adapting to a life full of surprises and unfamiliar technologies. In March 2019, Luciano was hit by a car and slipped into a coma. For years, his family clung to the hope of a miracle. That miracle occurred in 2024 when Luciano unexpectedly opened his eyes and found himself in a world he could hardly recognize. The terrible accident erased 39 years of memories with the last thing he remembered being leaving his house in Rome in 1980, before feeling a blow and seeing darkness. One of the first shocks was seeing his own reflection in the mirror. In his mind, he was still a 24-year-old man, but the face looking back at him was unrecognizable. Meeting his wife added to the confusion—he expected to see his 19-year-old bride but was instead greeted by an “elderly stranger,” the woman he had spent decades with. Upon waking, Luciano’s first instinct was to ask for a phone to call his mother. He was stunned when he was handed a modern smartphone, and his shock only deepened when he learned that his mother had passed away years ago. “I couldn’t believe so much time had gone by,” he said, sharing his bewilderment. The rapid advancements in 21st-century technology left him in awe. He marveled at GPS navigation, watching in amazement as a map of Rome appeared on the screen, guiding him with spoken directions. “I still remember the astonishment I felt when I heard the voice say, ‘Turn right in 100 metres,’” Luciano recalls. Since waking up, Luciano has found it easier to connect with children than adults. Although he tries to embrace his role as a grandfather, inside he still feels like a young man. A lifelong fan of Roma, Luciano was surprised to realize he had forgotten all about the football club after his coma. The only memory that resurfaced was the name tag on the crib of his first grandson, born in 2014. This small detail became a faint link to his past, though much of his memory has yet to return. 'Great day at the range': Dem candidate Lucas Kunce leaves reporter gushing blood at outing with Adam Kinzinger

In an apparent effort to outdo Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz's embarrassing hunting-themed photo op, Democratic Senate candidate Lucas Kunce attended a sport shooting campaign event Tuesday north of Kansas City with Harris booster Adam Kinzinger. Unlike Walz, Kunce, a gun control advocate trying to unseat Sen. Josh Hawley (R-Mo.), actually hit something — or rather somebody: KSHB-TV reporter Ryan Gamboa. According to the Kansas City Star, Kunce was firing a rifle at a private residence when a bullet fragment ricocheted off a steel target at close range and struck the reporter in the arm. Upon realizing he left the fourth estate in need of first aid, Kunce wrapped his belt around Gamboa's arm to arrest the bleeding. KSHB indicated that its wounded reporter went to a nearby hospital for professional treatment and was later discharged. 'Will Kamala condemn the gun violence by Kunce and Kinzinger?' Kunce attempted to make light of the incident, tweeting, "Great day at the range today with my friend @AdamKinzinger." "We got to hang out with some union workers while exercising our freedom. Always have your first aid kit handy," continued Kunce. "Shrapnel can always fly when you hit a target like today, and you've got to be ready to go. We had four first aid kits, so we were able to take care of the situation, and I'm glad Ryan is okay and was able to continue reporting." Criticism and mockery soon began pouring in. Hawley, who The Hill indicated was leading Kunce by an average of 7.3% across 10 polls, noted, "When liberals play with guns, people get hurt." The Republican senator asked in jest, "Will Kamala condemn the gun violence by Kunce and Kinzinger?" Apparently unable to help himself, Hawley also wrote, "I know the Kunce campaign needed a shot in the arm, but this is taking it a little far," and "I condemn all acts of violence against reporters." "It's been a really rough month for Dems trying to appear competent with firearms," wrote the National Association for Gun Rights. After noting that "cosplay can be dangerous," Missouri Sen. Eric Schmitt (R) shared a 2021 video of Kunce offering his services for a weapons safety course ahead of his last failed Senate run, writing, "This aged well." Police analyst and Townhall columnist Phil Holloway had some questions: "Why did you put a tourniquet on a grazing flesh wound? Why are people wearing their eye protection on top of their head? Why are you firing .223 rounds at metal targets 20 feet away? Asking for a few million friends." 'Calm down, Dick Cheney.' After dwelling on photos from the disastrous photo op, Sean Davis, co-founder of the Federalist, highlighted other issues Kunce and Kinzinger apparently failed to register: "They are shooting steel at 5-7 yards with rifles, which could've killed somebody given the force with which the bullets will ricochet off the steel targets at [that] distance. You would instantly get permanently banned at my range if you did that. Zero questions asked." "Kinzinger holds his rifle like a complete ninny, and that will never not be funny to me. And pro-tip for @AdamKinzinger: the eye protection works better when it's on your eyes, not your head. You stupid idiot. Try using your brain for once. You’re lucky you still have one after today." "Kinzinger is for some reason using a high-powered scope (at least a 3-9x by the looks of it) to shoot a target 5 yards away." "There is a bolt action rifle on the table, so presumably someone was also using that to shoot steel at 5 yards. Insane." "There are at least two canisters of explosive Tannerite powder on the table, down range from where guns are being fired. That could've potentially killed or seriously injured someone if someone shot it or if someone was stupid enough to be shooting close enough to steel for a ricochet to hit it." "At one point the cameraman is down range from all the guns, which — given the violations we’ve found so far — we can assume are not safe and unloaded. Way to think that one through, dummy." Ryan Cleckner, a former special ops sniper, affirmed Davis' critiques, writing, "[Davis] told me 'it gets better the more you look at it.' He was so right." "'Great day! We only shot one person!' Calm down, Dick Cheney," wrote one user. Conservative filmmaker Robby Starbuck noted, "Democrats need to stop cosplaying with guns because it's getting embarrassing." Like Blaze News? Democrats are falling back on three crucial copes to calm their fears

Team Blue is jittery. Republicans risk overconfidence for sure, but Democrats risk disaster, and they know it. Vice President Kamala Harris might act tough at her rallies, but you can hear a different message from her surrogates on the campaign trail and in the media. There, you’ll catch increasingly shrill appeals to race and to racial debts — and the hopeful expectation of a silent hero who will save the day. First: race. Long a cornerstone of Democrats' politics, racial fealty, animus, and vengeance have played increasingly loud roles. Still-alive President Joe Biden infamously told a podcast host in 2020 that if you weren’t voting for him, “you ain’t black.” After the coup, that job fell to his boss, former President Barack Obama. We live in an age when those fallen champions of silence, librarians, are hosting gay drag shows for kids. Forgive me if I doubt the silent Democrat thesis. Obama dutifully answered, heading first to Philadelphia and then beyond to tell black men they have a duty to vote for Harris. It was sold as tough love from black America’s father figure, or something to that effect, but it hasn’t gone over so well. “As Obama campaigns for Harris, he has a tough crowd among young black men,” read a Monday headline from NBC. “Obama’s comments reveal what the Democratic Party thinks about the black electorate,” an op-ed in The Hill blared. “Kwame Kilpatrick says Obama is ‘not the messiah,’” reads one Detroit News piece. “Why,” a report by the Brookings Institute asked, “are black men mad at Obama?” You might accidentally get an answer from "The Daily Show," which is still on the air and last week featured a joke about the 44th president “grounding a whole demographic” to whoops and applause from the largely white audience. Speaking of white people, they also have a racial duty to vote for Harris. “White folks,” pro-Kamala CNN commentator Angela Rye explained over the weekend, can’t be allowed to “escape the accountability that they must face for not showing up to save democracy themselves.” The anchor didn’t seem to have any problem with this. Earlier in the week, “justice correspondent” Elie Mystal condemned white people in a column the Nation thought was OK to run, calling us “the ‘problem’ in this country” and accusing us of “holding this country back,” opposing democracy, and forming a “global force destroying the environment of this earth.” Speaking of problems with the country, former Vice President Dick Cheney’s daughter returned to the trail this week to assuage nervous Democrats with the promise that her friends are secretly voting for Harris: the “quiet Democrat voter.” Search your memory for any time over the past 20 years and ask yourself if you can think of a situation in national politics, popular culture, or your local book group where Democrats have been shamed into some kind of self-aware silence. Think back over the “IN THIS HOUSE WE BELIEVE” yard signs, the “THIS IS NOT NORMAL” bumper stickers, or those rich Hillary Clinton supporters in “p***y hats.” We live in an age when those fallen champions of silence, librarians, are hosting gay drag shows for children. Forgive me if I doubt the silent Democrat thesis. But this is the state of Democratic coping: racial allegiance, racial debt, and “quiet Democrats.” Best of luck. IN OTHER NEWS 5 key House seats Republicans are likely to flip By Rebeka Zeljko While the Republicans’ majority is increasingly narrow, there are currently five competitive blue seats that may help the GOP hold on to the House. The seats of Democratic Reps. Mary Peltola of Alaska, Yadira Caraveo of Colorado, Elissa Slotkin of Michigan, Marie Gluesenkamp Perez of Washington, and Jared Golden of Maine have all been ranked as toss-ups by Cook Political Report. In 2022, Peltola was the first Democratic candidate to have been elected to Alaska’s sole congressional seat in more than half a century, after the state adopted a ranked-choice voting system, which allows voters to rank their preferred candidates rather than a typical two-party primary system. As a result, Republican candidates Nick Begich and former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin split the GOP vote, allowing Peltola to flip the seat blue for the first time since 1970. Despite the ranked-choice system, Peltola is facing a challenge from just one Republican candidate, Nick Begich, after Nancy Dahlstrom dropped out to consolidate the GOP vote. Combined with Alaska’s reliably red voting history, recent polls from the National Republican Congressional Committee put Peltola at an electoral disadvantage. Peltola is also featured on the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee’s “frontline members” list consisting of the most competitive blue seats. Peltola’s fellow frontliner, Caraveo, is also at risk of losing re-election to her Republican challenger. While one September poll puts the Colorado Democrat at a narrow three-point edge, a recent poll from early October puts her in a dead heat with Republican challenger Gabe Evans. Colorado's 8th Congressional District is also perfectly split between Republicans and Democrats, according to Cook Political Report. Caraveo won her seat in 2022 against Republican candidate Barbara Kirkmeyer by less than 1%. Since Slotkin opted to run for Senate, Democratic candidate Curtis Hertel and Republican challenger Tom Barrett have gone head-to-head for the seat. Slotkin flipped the longtime red seat blue in 2022, making the +2 Republican district a potential layup. Polling is also trending in Republicans' favor, with Barrett ahead of Hertel by four to six points. Slotkin secured her seat in Michigan's 7th Congressional District in 2022 by 5.4 points. Perez, who is also featured on the DCCC’s list of vulnerable frontliners, is set to face off against Republican candidate Joe Kent for the second time. Although Perez managed to flip the seat in 2022, she is currently polling dead even against Kent in the +5 Republican district, which may reinstate a red streak in Washington's 3rd Congressional District. Perez, who has refrained from endorsing Vice President Kamala Harris over former President Donald Trump, defeated Kent in 2022 by less than 1 percentage point after former Republican Rep. Jaime Herrera Beutler retired. Golden, who has served Maine’s congressional district for three consecutive terms, is also facing a tight race against Republican candidate Austin Theriault. Despite being a +6 Republican district, Golden won his seat by a 1% margin in 2018 and just over 6% in 2020 and 2022. Despite his historical electoral advantage, a recent poll shows Golden at a three-point deficit against Theriault.

Act fast to save over $210 on this Spider-Man Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 Ti

One of the most curious limited edition graphics cards in recent memory is currently discounted by over $210 on Amazon. This Nvidia GeForce graphics card deal sees the Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse-inspired card from Zotac reduced from $879.99 to just $681.70, but only limited units are available. In terms of performance, the Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 Ti was one of the best graphics cards when it was released, with our only criticisms being its high price, and that it only came with 12GB of VRAM. However, when it comes to value, the performance of this card is now exceptional at a sub-$700 price, and you have the added bonus of having a unique card design too, as not many movies land marketing spots on graphics cards.
