Speaking as co-host of Stay Tuned With Preet Bharara, former prosecutor Joyce Vance said that Trump now knows who is going to testify against him and the layout of the case. “This brief puts Trump’s team in a better position to respond, to make their own immunity arguments, and to prepare their case,” Vance said. She also said that the October 2 filing will not affect Trump’s chances in the presidential election. She was responding to CNN Senior Legal Analyst, former federal and state prosecutor, Elie Honig, who wrote in his legal blog that Smith’s October 2 filing was a “cheap shot,” generating headlines and potentially influencing voters and members of the jury pool. Vance said: “This is, in fact, a win for Trump. And I guarantee you that nobody in the public who spent their time reading 165 pages in detail didn’t have their mind already made up about this election, right? The broad contours here, they are well known. This is not impacting the election.” Newsweek sought email comment from Honig and from Trump’s attorney on Wednesday. Republican presidential nominee Trump is accused of conspiracy to defraud the United States; conspiracy to obstruct an official proceeding; obstruction and attempting to obstruct an official proceeding; and conspiracy against rights in connection with an alleged pressure campaign on state officials to reverse the 2020 election results. Breitbart adds: Special Counsel Jack Smith abused his power and is interfering in the 2024 election with his massive 165-page memorandum accusing Trump of committing crimes, according to an op-ed in the New York Times Wednesday. As Breitbart News reported, Smith submitted his memo — four times the typically-allowed length of a legal brief, and well within the Department of Justice’s 60-day window before Election Day — to Judge Tanya Chutkan in D.C. Harvard Law School professor Jack Goldsmith — a former George W. Bush official who has been critical of Trump — wrote in the Times that Smith had violated legal norms and appeared to be attempting improperly to influence voters.

Fox News ran a story on the apparent gaffe as well, pointing out something I missed.  Besides the “It’s a live broadcast!” scolding she gave her handler, she can also be seen constantly glancing down at notes or a script of talking points.  I wonder when it will dawn on the American people that we don’t need someone who can follow a prompt like a customer service rep answering a call for Straight Talk in India — we need a LEADER who knows what he (or she!) is doing, and has a grasp on the information surrounding the issues that matter! President Biden and Harris received a briefing from disaster relief authorities on life-saving preparations for Hurricane Milton. The two also received the latest updates on the forecast and expected impacts for Florida. While Biden attended the meeting from the White House, Harris and others attended virtually. At one point during the briefing, Harris covered her mouth and appeared to relay a message to someone else. “It’s a live broadcast,” she could be heard saying. The moment came nearly 20 minutes after Harris stumbled through a speech to Floridians. She glanced down multiple times, appearing to reference notes or a script. Could it be that Kamala Harris doesn’t know how to conduct herself professionally… because she’s just not that professional?  Obviously, I don’t mean that to sound as rhetorical as it sounded.  What I MEANT to say was — Kamala is completely unprofessional and has absolutely no clue how to even PRETEND to be professional. Which is why we keep getting this CONSTANT glimpses behind the veil of her ineptitude, and unprofessionalism. Which… is why she can not become President of the United States, if we are to have any hope of navigating the coming storms.  And I’m not talking about Helene, or Milton.  But, those, too.

An Afghan man arrested on charges of planning a terrorist attack on Election Day worked as a security guard in Afghanistan for the CIA, two sources with knowledge of the matter told NBC News. Nasir Ahmad Tawhedi, 27, was arrested on Monday in Oklahoma and accused of plotting to kill Americans with an assault rifle on behalf of ISIS. Court documents said he had contributed to an ISIS charity in March and accessed online ISIS propaganda, but they did not say whether he was radicalized before or after he came to the U.S. in 2021. A senior law enforcement official said the FBI is still investigating that question. The CIA declined to comment. The Department of Homeland Security, which plays a lead role in the vetting, declined to discuss the case, saying in a statement that “Afghan evacuees who sought to enter the United States were subject to multi layered screening and vetting against intelligence, law enforcement, and counterterrorism information. If new information emerges after arrival, appropriate action is taken.” But members of Congress and other U.S. officials have said that as the U.S. evacuated tens of thousands of Afghans in the waning days of the war, concerns emerged that not all of them were properly scrutinized. A report by the DHS inspector general said the agency “lacked critical data” as it sought to screen the refugees. Property records tracked the family of the teenage suspect, who was a virtual student at Southmoore High School. According to the FBI, the teen’s family has been in the U.S. since 2018. The family first moved to Woodbridge, Virginia, which is south of Washington, D.C., and then records indicate the family moved to Dallas in 2021. The family then bought a home in Moore in 2023. Both Tawhedi and the teen are accused of plotting a terror attack on Election Day with the goal of killing Americans in support of the Islamic State group. Tawhedi is married to the teenage suspect’s older sister, but at this moment, where he entered the U.S. and when exactly he moved to Oklahoma City is not confirmed. While we don’t know how long the FBI had been watching Tawhedi, we do know he came to the U.S. in 2021, and his co-conspirator, a juvenile, has been in the country since 2018. As I’m making my way through the information that is available surrounding this case, I am reminded at this moment, and I want to bring to your attention as well — we do not know exactly what the alleged TARGET was.  All we are being told by the Justice Department is that these men wanted to kill Americans on Election Day. Even leaving room for the many possible scenarios that could actually prove to be the truth of this situation (I’m sure you have 2-3 possible scenarios in your head, just like I do), the fact remains — there was presumably a real target.  Even if the revelation of CIA employment is as devious and criminal as many of us are contemplating… (and maybe, ESPECIALLY in that case), there was a TARGET. We are being left to assume that the target was some non-descript group of Americans in small-town Oklahoma outside of a polling location.  At least, that’s what it “feels” like we’re very cunningly being led to imagine, to me.  (And don’t get me wrong — that would be bad enough!) But I will say again — we do not know the alleged target.  But we know who has been the target lately, and we know that multiple 3-letter US agencies have proven (at the least!) to be neglectfully instrumental in EACH of those cases.  I’ll let that hang in the air, but I am very… very suspicious of those 3-letter agencies at the moment, as I contemplate what the “true” target actually was, and the fact that the guy who has been arrested for the plot WORKED FOR THE CIA!!! As previously reported, the FBI arrested an Afghan national who was plotting an ISIS-inspired Election Day terrorist attack. Nasir Ahmad Tawhedi was arrested in Oklahoma City on Monday after federal law enforcement sent a confidential human source (CHS) to secretly communicate with him and his co-conspirators. Tawhedi was ferried into the US by the Biden-Harris Regime after their botched Afghanistan withdrawal in 2021 on a Special Immigrant Visa. Now this… Nasir Ahmad Tawhedi worked as a security guard for the CIA in Afghanistan. (Emphasis added.) Here’s my next question.  I know I can go out and find a “security guard” job in the U.S. at tons of different places where there will be absolutely no opportunity to carry a firearm, or get firearm training.  Most “security guards” are simply there for the presence.  But this guy worked as a security guard for the CIA in Afghanistan. You know what I think?  I think they trained him to shoot and move.  In fact, I don’t think there’s any chance whatsoever that Nasir worked for the CIA as a security guard in Afghanistan back in the day without being PROFICIENT with his weapon, courtesy of the CIA. And I think he was brought to this country for a reason.  Not “slipped through the cracks”… but was BROUGHT here, for a reason, after receiving CIA training for skills that he would need in their employment.  But, I digress.  For now.  (But if you can’t stomach a little conspiracy theory, at this point, I’m not sure I have anything for you.) According to our earlier referenced NBC News article, sources have allegedly told NBC that the documents specifying details about Nasir’s status and entry into the U.S. are actually incorrect!  Hmm.  Are they, though?  Or is this just a case of “Awww…. shucks, I always get that wrong!”…?  Again, I’m not buying it. The Justice Department charging document says he entered on a Special Immigrant Visa “and is currently on parole status pending adjudication of his immigrant proceedings.” Special Immigrant Visas are given to Afghans who worked with the U.S. in Afghanistan after they pass DHS screening. However, two U.S. officials familiar with the matter told NBC News the charging document is incorrect, and that Tawhedi entered the U.S. on what’s known as humanitarian parole. Officials say humanitarian parole generally entails far less screening than a Special Immigrant Visa. The sources familiar with his work in Afghanistan say he would have had minimal interaction with Americans and he was not a CIA informant or a member of the U.S.-trained and armed paramilitary force known as the “Zero Units.” Many of those fighters were evacuated to the U.S. after rigorous screening and vetting. When you cross-reference that with the earlier information from the same NBC report stating that the CIA brought it’s own people over on it’s own flights, coinciding with the Sept. 9, 2021 date of Nasir’s arrival, we seem to have a little bit of a conflict. And the simplest answer for that conflict in my mind is that the “officials” trying to say “oh, he just slipped through the cracks because he was on this less stringent protocol to come to the U.S.”… those guys are trying to cover their tracks using the concealment of ineptitude.  (It often works, especially when there is actual ineptitude to create the cover — just ask the White House.) The problem, as usual, is that facts are stubborn things.  And I can tell you that Nasir does not show up on the manifests — ANYWHERE — to have been brought in by the U.S. in the primary evacuations.  And that, I would suggest logic would lead us to believe, is because he was brought in by the CIA afterwards, along with all the other CIA assets.  Because he is one of theirs.  Not minimally checked with very little exposure to the CIA, blah, blah, blah… but perfectly vetted.  That’s my assessment at this point.  And I’m willing to bet a month’s pay that I’m right. That said — we are somewhat at the mercy of the information gatekeepers, whether we like it or not.  (So my month’s pay is probably safe whether I’m right or wrong.)  We will continue to attempt to scrape at this story and get at the truth, but no doubt those on the other side will continue to work in a way that makes that more difficult. The moment happened when Whitaker was discussing with Harris the United States’ financial support for Israel in its war against genocidal Islamic terrorists in the region. “But it seems that Prime Minister Netanyahu is not listening,” Whitaker said to Harris. In a promotional clip that was posted by CBS News on Sunday, Harris responded to that statement from Whitaker by saying: “The work that we have done has resulted in a number of movements in that region by Israel that were very much prompted by or a result of many things, including our advocacy for what needs to happen in the region.” However, when the full interview was published by the network on Monday night, that statement from Harris was nowhere to be found. Those words were not included anywhere in the television broadcast, nor did they appear in the interview when it was posted on YouTube, the interview’s transcript, or the show’s “Overtime” segment. The reporter who launched several news cycles on Doug Emhoff questioned Thursday why legacy media would refrain from covering explosive allegations against Kamala Harris’ husband. Josh Boswell, senior reporter for DailyMail.com, appeared on Thursday’s episode of The Morning Wire to discuss his reporting on Emhoff. Boswell’s sources have told him not only that Emhoff cheated on his ex-wife with his children’s nanny, but also that Emhoff allegedly slapped his former girlfriend while they were partying in France, and that Emhoff behaved in an “inappropriate” and “misogynistic”  manner at the law firm Venable, where he formerly worked. Legacy media waited to report on Boswell’s first story, about Emhoff cheating with his nanny, until Emhoff confirmed some details of the story himself.
