She will also accompany her cosplay with snippets from their music, and post consistently on Instagram for most of October. Halsey’s first act was Dolly Parton, and she looked just like the country music star in a huge curly blonde wig, a sleeveless outfit with matching gloves, and some makeup. It was a recreation of Dolly’s 1987 Rainbow album cover, and fans could not get over how spot-on it was. What To Expect In The Highly Anticipated ‘Wizard Of Oz’ Remake

What To Expect In The Highly Anticipated ‘Wizard Of Oz’ Remake

Kenya Barris has recently revealed his intention to write and direct the reimagining of the 1939 movie musical The Wizard of Oz. The Wizard of Oz is an American musical fantasy film adaptation of L. Frank Baum’s 1900 children’s fantasy novel, The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, has been one of the most iconic films of the last century, which remains popular until today. The children’s fantasy novel has undergone several adaptations over the years. Despite this, producer and director Kenya Barris is set to produce another remake of the movie. Barris is a highly imaginative writer known for being creative with his works, suggesting that the remake of the movie will have a new perspective to fit into the present time. He has worked on the popular TV series Black-ish, Shaft remake, and 2022’s Cheaper by the Dozen and has written for shows like America’s Next Top Model and Girlfriends. In addition to these, the writer and director have opened up about giving the fantasy film adaptation, The Wizard of Oz, a contemporary remake. Is Kenya Barris planning a remake of ‘The Wizard of Oz?’ Wizard of Oz/Everett Kenya Barris has shared that “this is the perfect time to reimagine the characters and explore what someone envisions for their life.” Although, the full plot has not been publicly disclosed, Barris aims to give a new look to The Wizard of Oz with his imaginations. Notably, he is not the first creator to remake The Wizard of Oz. The Wiz is a remake of the story, and it was produced in 1978 starring Diana Ross and Michael Jackson, a Black cast. The original musical movie was an allegory and a reflection of what the world looked like at the time it was produced, with a compelling story and music, which revolutionized the visual effects and color cinema of that time, 1939. Judy Garland played Dorothy Gale in the film, who was carried by a tornado from her Kansas home to the country of Oz. Barris has discussed the need to include characters from a range of social and cultural backgrounds to tell a story that accurately depicts the modern world. Wizard of Oz/Everett What to expect in the new setting of ‘The Wizard of Oz’ The decision of Kenya Barris to move the tale from Kansas to California begs the issue of what other alterations he has in store for the noteworthy movie. He might be able to recreate the spirit of the original film adaptation, but it is unlikely to be better than Judy Garland’s. Wizard of Oz/Everett Warner Bros. is currently working on the remake, and Kenya Barris has been brought in to write and direct it. However, it is unclear if those who have watched the original movie would find the remake interesting, but it will be nice to see the director give the upcoming movie a modern touch.
