On Anniversary of Hamas Attack, Pence’s Think Tank Slams Harris for Undermining Israel

FIRST ON THE DAILY SIGNAL—Hamas has launched more than 10,100 rockets into Israel, killing 821 civilians and 351 Israeli soldiers, since the terrorist organization’s rampage of rape, torture, and murder in southern Israel one year ago, according to a memo from a think tank founded by former Vice President Mike Pence. Current Vice President Kamala Harris, however, has berated Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for not accepting a peace deal that would threaten Israel’s ability to defend itself, says the memo from Advancing American Freedom, which was shared with The Daily Signal. “I have been clear: Now is the time to get a cease-fire deal and get the hostage deal done,” Harris, who has replaced President Joe Biden at the top of the Democrats’ presidential ticket, told pro-Palestinian protesters who interrupted a campaign rally in Arizona in July. Advancing American Freedom, which Pence founded after leaving the vice presidency in 2021, is a conservative think tank dedicated to promoting the policies of the Trump-Pence administration, according to the organization’s website. October 7 Anniversary Memo JS[31]Download When asked about pro-Palestinian protests in America shortly before becoming the Democratic presidential nominee, Harris said the protesters “are showing exactly what the human emotion should be, as a response to Gaza.” The adjacent Gaza Strip, where Hamas is the elected government and the launching point of the terrorists’ Oct. 7 attacks on Israel, has borne the brunt of Israel’s military response. More than 700 civilians were killed by Hamas terrorists, including 14 children under the age of 10 and 25 adults over the age of 80. Advancing American Freedom noted that Oct. 7 saw 31 times as many casualties as the second most fatal terrorist attack against Israel, the so-called “Coastal Road Massacre” of March 11, 1978. In August, Harris said she is open to discussing an arms embargo against Israel with a pro-Palestinian, anti-Israel group called the Uncommitted National Movement. The movement said it shared concerns with Harris that the U.S. was “supplying weapons for Israel’s war and occupation against Palestine.” “The vice president shared her sympathies and expressed an openness to a meeting with the Uncommitted leaders to discuss an arms embargo,” the organization said in a statement. A Harris campaign spokesman told The New York Times that the conversation “reaffirmed that her campaign will continue to engage with those communities.” Advancing American Freedom said Harris’ call for a cease-fire in the Israel-Hamas war “undermine(s) Israel’s peace efforts and will directly lead to Iranian hegemony in the Middle East.” “As Americans, we must support our democratic allies and prevent extremist factions from gaining control of this pivotal region,” the think tank’s memo says. Almost 80% of Israel’s arms imports come from the United States, according to the Council on Foreign Relations. The top imports and exports between the United States and Israel include pharmaceuticals, agricultural products, machinery, and medical instruments, according to the U.S. Embassy in Israel.  “Israel provides the United States with much needed missile defense parity against an Iraniangovernment that hates America and seeks to destroy the U.S.,” the memo says. FOR SHAME: On Anniversary of Oct. 7, College Students Celebrate Rape, Kidnapping, and Slaughter of Jews

FOR SHAME: On Anniversary of Oct. 7, College Students Celebrate Rape, Kidnapping, and Slaughter of Jews

As the civilized world mourns the first anniversary of the worst attack on Jews since the Holocaust—and prays for the release of the more the 100 hostages, including four Americans, still being held by Palestinian jihadists in terrorism tunnels—American college campuses are rife with celebrations of Hamas’ atrocities. On Oct. 7, 2023, Iran-backed Hamas militants flooded into Israel, engaging in an orgy of violence and mayhem, killing about 1,200 people, including 38 children, in their homes and at a youth music festival. They raped women, shot children in front of their parents, and kidnapped more than 250 people, including 30 children. They even filmed and bragged about their atrocities. But to many students on American college campuses, the Hamas militants who died while perpetrating these atrocities are not monsters to be condemned, but “martyrs” to be celebrated. Just days after the Oct. 7 massacre, the Students for Justice in Palestine chapters nationwide called for a “Day of Resistance” on posters featuring paragliders like those the Hamas terrorists who had flown over the Israeli security barrier to rape and kill civilians used. The Students for Justice in Palestine chapter at George Washington University projected the words “Glory to Our Martyrs” on the side of the university’s library. Even among anti-Israel groups, Students for Justice in Palestine is particularly radical. Several chapters have openly endorsed the five-point “Thawabet” (demands on which there can be no compromise) principles, including that Arabs should “reject all normalization” with Israel, that “armed struggle is the only way to liberate Palestine,” and that “Palestine is Arab from the river to the sea, with Al-Quds [Jerusalem] as its capital.” In other words, they call for genocidal violence against the world’s only Jewish state—home to about half the world’s Jews—until it is destroyed and replaced with another Arab state. Unsurprisingly, the infamous chant that is a common feature at Students for Justice in Palestine rallies—“There is only one solution: intifada revolution”—was inspired by the Nazis’ “Final Solution.” On the anniversary of the Oct. 7 massacre, Students for Justice in Palestine chapters nationwide are calling for a “week of rage,” celebrating “one year of resistance” and hosting vigils for the supposed “martyrs.” The timing makes clear that they are celebrating the Oct. 7 atrocities as “resistance” and glorifying its perpetrators as “martyrs.” At Columbia University on Monday, hundreds of students marched, chanting “intifada” and “resistance is justified.” One protester held a sign reading “Long Live The Al-Aqsa Flood” (the jihadist name for the Hamas massacre) featuring Hamas terrorists, including a paraglider. At Columbia University in the anniversary of Oct. 7th massacre, a student holds “Long Live The Al-Aqsa Flood” with a photo of a Hamas soldier. This individual is a domestic terrorist and should be held accountable by law enforcement. pic.twitter.com/0Wa0o6BLwX— Eyal Yakoby (@EYakoby) October 7, 2024 Students for Justice in Palestine chapters and their pro-terrorist protests are not confined to Ivy League or far-left campuses like Berkeley and Oberlin. They’re even popping up at private and state universities in red states. At Rice University in Texas, the group’s chapter is hosting a “Day of Rage” on the anniversary of the Oct. 7 massacre, featuring a speech from a professor at Rice as well as a vigil to “honor our martyrs.” At Duke University in North Carolina, the Students for Justice in Palestine chapter is hosting a “Vigil for Palestine” Monday, claiming that it “has been one year since Israel began its relentless genocide against the people of Gaza,” even though there is no genocide in Gaza, and Israel didn’t even send troops into Gaza to fight Hamas and attempt to rescue its captive citizens for more than a week after Hamas launched the war. Students for Justice in Palestine chapters are also hosting a “Week of Rage” or “Week of Resistance” beginning on Oct. 7 at the University of Texas at Arlington, UNC Chapel Hill, and dozens of other universities. Likewise, the Muslim Students Association at the University of North Florida is hosting a “Gaza Week” starting Oct. 7. Too often, the pro-terrorist rallies have the explicit support of university faculty and staff—which should be no surprise, given how many former campus radicals find employment on campus. At Oklahoma State University, the psychology department’s diversity committee emailed students encouraging their participation in the “Week of Rage,” which includes a bake sale and the requisite vigil for “martyrs,” and will be capped off with a movie night. Oklahoma Superintendent of Public Instruction Ryan Walters condemned the university for supporting the event, stating that “No school, at any level, should ever celebrate the slaughter and destruction of Israel.” Walters called on the public to demand that “OSU end this culture of hate for Israel on their campus.” No school, at any level, should ever celebrate the slaughter and destruction of Israel. Demand OSU end this culture of hate for Israel on their campus. https://t.co/IHcn7K2d0a— Superintendent Ryan Walters (@RyanWaltersSupt) October 6, 2024 It should be no surprise that the email came from a “diversity committee” at the university. College diversity, equity, and inclusion offices have been hotbeds of antisemitism. As former university dean and professor Stanley Goldfarb observed in City Journal, DEI “has given [antisemites] a pseudointellectual and seemingly moral framework through which to spew their hatred.”  At the heart of DEI is a simple binary: The world is divided between oppressors and the oppressed. Proponents of DEI cast white people as oppressors and black people as the oppressed. While they apply this frame primarily to America, they often apply it to Israel, too. Apparently, Israel is a bastion of Jewish whiteness, with a racist commitment to shattering the lives of nonwhite Palestinians. In fact, a colleague of mine—a former collegiate DEI director, no less—was told that Jews are “white oppressors” and that it was her job to “decenter whiteness.” Hence, why the campus groups most associated with DEI are now leading the [antisemitic] charge. A good example is White Coats for Black Lives, which I encountered at Penn’s medical school. The group, which serves effectively as the medical-student offshoot of Black Lives Matter, has as its mission to “dismantle racism and accompanying systems of oppression.” Apparently, that means supporting terrorists who beheaded Jewish babies and raped Jewish women on [Oct. 7]. In the wake of those atrocities, White Coats for Black Lives proudly declared that it “has long supported Palestine’s struggle for liberation.”  Students have the right to speak out and support any cause they wish, including hateful ones. But they don’t have a right to taxpayer dollars. Student groups like Students for Justice in Palestine typically get access to university funds. At public universities, that means taxpayer funding. And even at private universities, students are often subsidized though government loans and tax credits, in addition to the numerous government grants universities receive directly. Paying for young people to be indoctrinated as hate-filled radicals is more than taxpayers should be expected to bear. Jewish and pro-Israel groups gather Sunday in Guilderland, N.Y., to mark one year since the Oct. 7, 2023, attack in which at least 1,200 Israelis and others were killed by Hamas militants. Hypocrites! NYT Front Page Probes Alleged Trump Mental Decline After Ignoring Biden's

After years of politely ignoring President Joe Biden’s mental decline, the New York Times suddenly puts Donald Trump under its metaphorical MRI a month before Election Day, while shrugging off concerns about the actual man supposedly in the White House and running the country, Democrat Joe Biden. The off-lead story in Monday’s paper was headlined: TRUMP REIGNITES QUESTION OF AGE WITH RAMBLINGS INCREASING STRIDENCY Analysis and Observers Note Changes in His Speech Patterns  White House correspondent Peter Baker penned the 3,000-word hit piece alongside “Artificial Intelligence” journalist Dylan Freedman (yes this was a full-blown “scientific” study of the words Trump has used in speeches over the years): Former President Donald J. Trump vividly recounted how the audience at his climactic debate with Vice President Kamala Harris was on his side. Except that there was no audience. The debate was held in an empty hall. No one “went crazy,” as Mr. Trump put it, because no one was there. Anyone can misremember, of course. But the debate had been just a week earlier and a fairly memorable moment. And it was hardly the only time Mr. Trump has seemed confused, forgetful, incoherent or disconnected from reality lately. In fact, it happens so often these days that it no longer even generates much attention. He rambles, he repeats himself, he roams from thought to thought -- some of them hard to understand, some of them unfinished, some of them factually fantastical. He voices outlandish claims that seem to be made up out of whole cloth. He digresses into bizarre tangents about golf, about sharks, about his own “beautiful” body…. The Times offered thin reeds to make its case for Trump’s cognitive decline. According to a computer analysis by The New York Times, Mr. Trump’s rally speeches now last an average of 82 minutes, compared with 45 minutes in 2016. Proportionately, he uses 13 percent more all-or-nothing terms like “always” and “never” than he did eight years ago, which some experts consider a sign of advancing age.   Of course, the Times joined the rest of the media in hiding Biden’s clear decline in cognitive ability. The Times defended Biden a day before the infamous Biden-Trump debate in June, with a Baker story linking to a pathetic Times report that dismissed clear evidence of Biden’s emerging decrepitude as “cheap fakes” circulated by Republicans: “Biden Battles Age Doubts and a Trail of Misleading Videos.” Perhaps not so “misleading” after all. Baker, like many liberals, has the nasty habit of psychoanalyzing Republicans for things that would be passed over as harmless or normal when done by Democrats. How much his rambling discourse -- what some experts call tangentiality -- can be attributed to age is the subject of some debate. Mr. Trump has always had a distinctive speaking style that entertained and captivated supporters even as critics called him detached from reality. Indeed, questions have been raised about Mr. Trump’s mental fitness for years. John F. Kelly, his second White House chief of staff, was so convinced that Mr. Trump was psychologically unbalanced that he bought a book called “The Dangerous Case of Donald Trump,” written by 27 mental health professionals, to try to understand his boss better…. Baker has cited that wacky 2017 book (which surely violated the profession's "Goldwater Rule") before, one that his paper’s own left-wing editorial board found too much, although its contributors regularly pop up in the paper’s letters section, hurling repetitive anti-Trump rants under the guise of professional concern. Book editor Bandy X. Lee was fired from Yale in 2020 after a bizarre diagnosis of criminal defense lawyer and Trump defender Alan Dershowitz on Twitter. Lee was cited by Baker himself in a January 2018 news story: “Trump, Defending His Mental Fitness, Says He’s a ‘Very Stable Genius’.” Baker continued: Some of Mr. Trump’s cabinet secretaries had a running debate over whether the president was “crazy-crazy,” as one of them put it in an interview after leaving office, or merely someone who promoted “crazy ideas.” There were multiple conversations about whether the 25th Amendment disability clause should be invoked to remove him from office, although the idea never went far. His own estranged niece, Mary L. Trump, a clinical psychologist, wrote a book identifying disorders she believed he has. Mr. Trump bristled at such talk, insisting that he was “a very stable genius.” The most credible sources to the Times are people who know Trump and hate him an unusual amount of ferocity.

Americans' privacy in jeopardy as Congress pushes digital ID task force, 3 privacy-related bills

House Democrat Rep. Bill Foster (Ill.) is part of three separate bills that push digital identification on Americans through legislation. The Illinois congressman first announced the Improving Digital Identity Act in September 2020, stating on Twitter then that "it's time the United States catches up with the developed world on digital identity technology."Citing the benefits of a "bipartisan" bill, Foster said it had become "vitally important to ramp up safeguards to protect against identity theft and fraud " so that businesses and consumers could have confidence in their online transactions. In a bipartisan manner, members of Congress appear to be collecting evidence to bolster their argument for why digital identification should be required.Apparently, this can only be done through digital ID.Foster has been relentless about this bill, reintroducing it in 2021 and again in 2024, Reclaim the Net reported.According to Foster's website, the bill asks for the creation of a Digital Identity Task Force made up of federal, state, and local representatives. The task force would develop methods for government agencies to "validate" and "protect" the identities of individuals online, including "tools for verification."This, of course, means government-issued digital IDs and government-operated verification programs. The task force would also determine whether a "fee-based model" for verification programs would be required. The bill, H.R.4258, comes with an estimated $50 million price tag over five years to develop the digital ID. It was originally co-sponsored by 10 Democrats and three Republicans, including Georgia's Barry Loudermilk (R), Rhode Island's James Langevin (D), and New York Rep. John Katko (R). — (@) In September 2024, Foster introduced another digital ID bill to "establish a Government-wide approach to improving digital identity, and for other purposes."The text for H.R. 9783 had yet to be submitted at the time of this publication. In June 2024, Foster co-sponsored Louisiana Republican Clay Higgins' bill on the same topic.H.R. 8658, the Emerging Digital Identity Ecosystem Report Act of 2024, asked for a report from TSA on "digital identity ecosystems."The report will include the benefits and risks of digital identities as they relate to homeland security in the United States. Bipartisanly, members of Congress appear to be collecting evidence to bolster their argument for requiring digital identification. The most popular reasons congressmen have given in their bill texts so far are tightening national security, securing online transactions, and preventing identity theft.Digital ID has long been a topic of discussion at the World Economic Forum, the yearly event where society's elites meet to decide which policy proposals to pursue in their jurisdictions.Since at least 2020, the WEF has advocated for a digital ID system to help society's most vulnerable members. "A digital ID system allowed Chile rapidly to pre-enroll millions of new beneficiaries in social programs," the organization wrote. In 2023, the WEF said it was "difficult or impossible" for the roughly 850 million people who don't have ID to "fully engage with society." This, according to the WEF, showcases a perfect reason to implement a cost-efficient, paperless ID system.Like Blaze News? Breaking out of ‘the matrix’: The next generation of homesteaders rejecting ‘an unreliable system’

When 23-year-old “Gubba” saw the empty shelves during the COVID-19 pandemic, she decided to take matters into her own hands. The city girl turned homesteader ditched life in Portland and traded ultra-processed foods, pharmaceuticals, and a desk job for 38 acres of farmland — where she is learning to become self-sufficient. “The fridges were barren; the freezers were barren. People were going crazy, fighting over bags of dried beans. And I still remember staring at those empty shelves, and I said, ‘What am I doing here? I am relying on a system that breaks so easily. I have become dependent on this unreliable system,’” Gubba tells Glenn Beck on “The Glenn Beck Podcast.” “I said, ‘I am never going to find myself in this situation ever again.’ So that’s what really spurred me and, I think, started to really awaken a lot of other people,” she adds. While Gubba found herself on expansive acreage to live out her homesteading dreams, she tells Glenn that “you do not need land to become self-sufficient.” “The best place to start is in your kitchen, cooking from scratch, having a little window cell garden, and learning these skills,” she says. But it’s not just the food supply that has Gubba thriving in her more holistic lifestyle but the effects it’s had on her health — as well as her animals. “I’m nourishing with proper minerals and vitamins, I’m getting sunshine, I’m getting my vitamin D, I am properly keeping myself stress-free so I don’t have negativity in my life that is bringing me down energetically. So I am keeping myself healthy,” she tells Glenn. “I even feed my dogs raw dog food, and I support my local butcher by buying from them, or I even go and dumpster-dive from them,” she explains. “Look at the cancer rates in animals just skyrocketing on kibble. Go look at the kibble, and it’s soy and it’s cornmeal and its byproducts.” “There’s constant recalls on their kibble because animals are dying and it’s being covered up. So this is interesting because it’s not only our food system that’s being profited on but also our pets' food system. And that makes me even more sad because they don’t have a voice,” Gubba says, noting that she gets a box of organs from her local butcher for 80 cents a pound to feed her dogs. “If you just go to your local area, and you start looking around, you can find these sources too like I am,” she adds.
