According to The Hollywood Reporter,  Matthias Schoenaerts will face off against Milly Alcock’s Kara Zor-El (aka Supergirl). Schoenaerts’ previous credits include playing Booker in Netflix’s The Old Guard (pictured above), an undying mercenary who starred with Charlize Theron, KiKi Layne, and Marwan Kenzari, among others.   We don’t know much about the production, though THR describes it as hewing “closer to a grand science-fiction adventure than standard superhero fare.” This tracks given we know the film is based on the comic series by Tom King and Bilquis Evely, where Supergirl seeks revenge on those who killed the father of a young girl named Ruthye and also shot her superdog, Krypto. That’s right, Supergirl is sent on a revenge warpath á la John Wick when someone hurts her pup. While we don’t have confirmation on who specifically Schoenaerts will be playing, the villain who committed those acts in King and Evely’s run is Krem of the Yellow Hills, a genocidal pirate. Supergirl will be the second film to come out in Gunn’s new DC Universe, following Superman: Legacy, which Gunn himself is directing. Production on Supergirl will start this January in the U.K. and is set to premiere in theaters on June 26, 2026. DAILY CALLER NEWS FOUNDATION—The Biden-Harris administration’s $5 billion Clean School Bus Program uses up to four times more taxpayer dollars per school bus, and it benefits the Chinese Communist Party, a House report has revealed. The 51-page report from the House Committee on Energy and Commerce found promoting electric school buses and other electric vehicles (EVs) enriches the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) as the EV supply chain is roughly 90% dependent on China, raising both national security and human rights concerns. The Sept. 17 report also highlighted immense expenses for taxpayers, with the average electric school bus under the first iteration of the Clean School Bus Program—the first of three iterations—costing $381,191, or $200,000 to $300,000 more than a typical full-sized diesel school bus. “It is clear the $5 billion Clean School Bus Program is overall a failure and, in many cases, a waste of Americans’ hard-earned taxpayer dollars,” Rep. The report also identified limited range as an issue, with standard electric school buses from leading manufacturer BlueBird able to travel just 120 miles on a single charge, while some propane models can travel 400 miles before needing to refuel. Former Bravo personalities turned podcasters Jennifer Welch and Angie "Pumps" Sullivan stopped by CNN’s Inside Politics on Tuesday to react to their April interview with Vice President Kamala Harris. During the segment with host Dana Bash, Welch would claim that Harris is “carrying the weight” of women across America on her back this election cycle as she campaigns heavily on abortion. Bash began by playing a clip of Harris on the podcast discussing how she views herself in history. Harris surmised that she is probably the first vice president to use the words “uterus” and “fibroids” in front of reporters, which the trio found greatly hilarious.     Afterwards, she hyped, “I do want to start though with that moment that we just heard. That was, of course, with Vice President Harris, it was in the spring. It was before she became the Democratic nominee for president. It was a pretty rare insight into how she thinks about the historic nature of her position. She’s usually careful not to engage about that because she wants to be seen as a person who is running to be president, not—never mind her gender or her ethnicity. What did you make of her response?” Welch responded by claiming that Harris is carrying the future of women’s rights on her back: I thought it was a great question that Angie asked her because I think that when Roe was overturned, the entire segment of females in this country, there was just this panic, this feeling of panic, and lack of rights, lack of control, and she, kind of, inhaled, the vice president, did and exhaled, and you could see it was heavy on her that she felt it more because she was a woman, and so as a woman who lives in a red state with a total abortion ban, that provided comfort for me because I wanted to know that she was carrying the weight of that on her back because we don't have voices in our state that represent us. Leftist billionaire and Democratic mega-donor George Soros has been leaning on the Democrat-controlled Federal Communications Commission for months in hopes of fast-tracking his group's acquisition of over 200 radio stations in over 40 markets — including stations that run shows from Glenn Beck, Mark Levin, Erick Erickson, Sean Hannity, and Dana Loesch. On Wednesday, the FCC reportedly adopted an order to approve the purchase, meaning that in a matter of days, Soros will likely take control of communications to over 165 million Americans with the help of unvetted foreign investors whom Democrats have spared from the FCC's customary national security review process. National syndicated radio host and Blaze Media co-founder Glenn Beck asked Trump-appointed FCC Commissioner Brendan Carr Tuesday about the Democratic FCC commissioners' apparent willingness to cosign Soros' latest play for narrative dominance. Carr made clear that "it's an unprecedented decision for the commission" that would not have alternatively been accepted were Soros a partisan of another stripe — a decision that comes amid a broader "weaponization of government power ... against free speech." Background Audacy filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in Texas on Jan. 7 to reduce its debt. Months later, the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Texas approved the company's reorganization plan, paving the way for an equitization of over 80% of the company's debt. In February, Soros Fund Management acquired roughly $414 million of Audacy's debt — nearly 40% of the company's senior debt — emerging as the company's primary shareholder. 'Soros took foreign investment to make his bid.' Audacy asked the FCC to approve the transfer of its broadcast licenses to the reorganized company. Rep. Chip Roy (R-Texas), Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas), and other critics noted, however, that such a transfer would be problematic as the reorganized company would exceed legally acceptable foreign ownership limits. Section 310(b)(4) of the Communications Act prohibits foreign owners from having a stake in a radio station license exceeding 25%. Media Research Center noted in its April petition to deny the "special Soros shortcut" that "the Soros group expressly states in their FCC filing that they have determined that the aggregate level of foreign ownership in the company when it emerges from bankruptcy will exceed the 25 percent limit specified in Section 310(b)(4) of the Communications Act due to the various entities that it expects to hold voting or equity interests." Audacy requested that the five-member FCC, which has a Democratic majority, take the unprecedented step of not only waiving the foreign ownership restriction in order to allow the purchase to move forward but of putting off a national security review of the stations' foreign-interest holders. Democrat-anointed foreign takeover Following a New York Post report stating that the three Democrats on the FCC voted Wednesday to approve Audacy's reorganization plan, Commissioner Carr spoke to Glenn Beck about what happens next. "Now, the vote came down in the FCC. It was partisan. Three Democrats voting for it. Two Republicans voting against it," said Beck. "But here's the real problem: According to existing FCC rules, foreign company ownership of U.S. radio stations is not supposed to exceed 25%. But Soros took foreign investment to make his bid, and then he asked the FCC to make an exception to the usual review process." Carr said, "I've been very outspoken on this particular issue for the reasons that you talked about. We have a very clear process at the FCC that we set up — it could take six months, it could take a year — to go through to [the national security] review the foreign ownership at issue here. But for reasons that are not sort of plain to me, the FCC ... for the very first time ever, has skipped that process for the benefit of this Soros-backed group." "It's an unprecedented decision for the commission," added Carr. When Blaze News asked how the Soros group dodged the Communications Act prohibition, Carr said: What happened here was that the Soros group came in and said, 'Look, approve our takeover of these stations now. We will wall off the foreign interest holders from any sort of significant, relevant decision-making authority for the time being, then we'll come back to you down the road and file the petition and go through the petition process.' Apparently, that was good enough for the Democratic commissioners. "Usually, you don't let the people get the licenses first until we go through the foreign ownership. I would imagine that they're going to have to come back to the FCC and run this foreign ownership process," continued Carr. "And if that does uncover — and I'm not saying it's likely — but if that does uncover some untoward level of foreign influence, then the FCC should have the full tools available to it to take action." 'This is sort of the reverse side of a pattern that we've been living under the last couple of years.' While remedies might be as simple as further walling off of investors or selling off an interest, Carr indicated that the FCC could "go so far as to reconsider the grant of a license," although he does not anticipate revocation being necessary. Rules for thee Carr alluded to what the implications of this decision might be, noting that the affected radio stations are not just playing classic rock but in a number of cases have conservative talk shows and news. When Beck suggested the reverse wouldn't fly, Carr indicated that conservative buyers were shut down in the past when trying something similar. "Not too long ago — a year ago — there was a group of conservative buyers that wanted to purchase some South Florida radio station," said Carr. "And a number of Democrats spoke up very loudly and said the FCC cannot allow these conservative outlets to buy these radio stations because, in the Democrats' view, it can cost them an election in South Florida." Carr contextualized this hypocrisy in a broader trend of Democrats seeking to "weaponize the government to go against conservative speech." "This is sort of the reverse side of a pattern that we've been living under the last couple of years — of weaponization of government power, in my view, frankly, against free speech." When asked whether there has been any pushback on the Soros takeover from Democrats, Carr laughed, telling Blaze News the only lawmakers who came to mind in terms of raising alarm were Cruz, Roy, and Rep. Nick Langworthy (R-N.Y.). — (@) Motive Beck asked Carr why Soros might want to invest this kind of money in what appears to be a "dying medium." 'Maybe there's a business case there that they're smart enough to see, that everyone doesn't see.' "It's a good question," said Carr. "I don't know a lot of billionaires right now that, with all the options for where they're going to place their money, sit around saying, 'You know what really kicks off a lot of cash right now are local radio stations.' Maybe." "We're seeing a flight of capital from local broadcasting because it's so challenged right now with competition from social media companies and over-the-top providers," continued Carr. "So maybe there's a business case there that they're smart enough to see that everyone doesn't see." NPR president Katherine Maher, a censorious alumna of the World Economic Forum's Young Global Leader program who previously worked at the National Democratic Institute, which is primarily funded by George Soros' Open Society Foundations, provided a possible clue as to why her fellow travelers might want to take control of American radio stations. Maher, who toured the ground zeroes of various regime changes in recent years as they were unfolding, penned a December 2010 NDI blog post, titled, "Can a Radio Station Govern a Country?" The article concerned an electoral crisis in the Ivory Coast that led to civil war and the desire by one faction to seize control of the state broadcaster, Radiodiffusion Television Ivoirienne. Maher quoted her friend who suggested: Control over RTI has become a flashpoint in the crisis precisely because information is both severely limited and crucial to building legitimacy, however tenuous, with the public. In the absence of a robust private media to report on the election controversy, the state-run broadcaster may effectively have as much power to declare the ultimate winner as the electoral commission formally tasked with doing so. Maher concluded, "Control over the flow of information in a closed society can be tantamount to control over the state." — (@) Carr told Beck that after the FCC releases its final decision, Soros' control over hundreds of American radio stations will be "instantaneous." Rikki Ratliff-Fellman, director of programming at Blaze Media, suggested on X, "The Harris-Biden admin doesn't actually care about 'foreign malign influence' in our elections. With Election Day just six weeks away, polls grab news headlines every day, and many of them suggest that Vice President Kamala Harris is well on her way to the White House.But one Senate Democrat recently shared his fear that polls are, once again, undercounting support for Trump — which means Harris is doing worse than polls indicate."That's ominous. There's no question that is concerning, but you’re working as hard as you can work, no matter what. My sense [is] there’s not a lot more you can do than we’re already doing," the Senate Democrat told The Hill anonymously. That senator claimed that Trump supporters are "embarrassed" to admit they support Trump, which is why pollsters aren't gauging accurate support for the former president. Of course, anyone who has interacted with Trump supporters know they are not shy about publicly identifying themselves as such.The fact is: Harris is performing significantly worse today compared to Biden four years ago while Trump is polling significantly better.Interestingly, one Democratic pollster, Celina Lake, went on the record with The Hill to disclose her polling fears — while insulting Trump supporters in the process."I, too, share the concern that there are going to be some surprises. What accentuates my concern is when you poll people who have not voted in ’20 but are planning to vote today, they are disproportionately Trump voters," Lake told the outlet. "If you look at first-time voters who didn’t vote in ’20, they are leaning toward Trump and they’re very low information and they like his kind of style. And they like Elon Musk and they like a lot of things like that. I worry about that. I think it’s definitely a concern, and I think we just have to get enough margin to compensate for that."But the problem for Harris and Democrats is exactly what the Senate Democrat admitted anonymously: The polls historically undermeasure Trump's support.For example, final polling in battleground states in 2016 indicated that Hillary Clinton should have won Wisconsin by 7.2%, Pennsylvania by 2.6%, and Michigan by 3.7%. In the end, she lost all three states. Moreover, the polls showed that Clinton would win the popular vote by 3.2%. In reality, the final margin was 2.1% — and she lost the Electoral College.The same phenomena played out in 2020: Biden performed worse in battleground states and nationally than polls indicated — and Trump overperformed.How does this translate to today? The fact is: Harris is performing significantly worse today compared to Biden four years ago while Trump is polling significantly better.At this time four years ago, Biden held a 6.9% lead over Trump nationally. Today, Harris' lead is just 2.3%. An Idaho man has been charged with threatening to assassinate former President Donald Trump on at least nine occasions, according to a criminal complaint. On July 31 — two weeks after a failed assassination attempt on Trump in Butler, Pennsylvania — 64-year-old Warren Jones Crazybull called the former president’s Mar-a-Lago resort home and threatened to kill him, according to a criminal complaint and affidavit that was reported by Forbes.'I start driving to the home of this multi-person rapist PIG TRUMP to take him down single combat.' “Find Trump … I am coming down to Bedminster tomorrow. I am going to down him personally and kill him,” Crazybull said on the phone call, according to the Department of Justice complaint. Trump National Golf Club is located in Bedminster, New Jersey.Crazybull, of Sandpoint, is accused of making at least nine phone calls to Trump's Florida home and threatening to assassinate him. Crazybull also allegedly made “concerning” threats of violence toward Trump on Facebook using the alias “Tracy Jones,” according to court documents. “I start driving to the home of this multi-person rapist PIG TRUMP to take him down single combat,” a Facebook post from July 31 allegedly read.Another post reportedly read, “I’m coming for you Trump.” Crazybull's social media posts also referenced Jeffrey Epstein, “John John Kennedy Jr.,” and a “shadow government,” according to the criminal complaint.Secret Service agents tracked down the suspect in Montana by using T-Mobile phone data, the feds said. When investigators interviewed Crazybull, an agent said in the affidavit that he appeared as if his thought processes were "racing" and "confused" and that he seemed "paranoid." He allegedly told investigators that “he would not attempt to kill former President Trump” but also claimed he would "not let" Trump become president again.Crazybull said he blamed Trump and former President John F. Kennedy for “broken treaties that resulted in the loss of his land,” according to the affidavit. The suspect reportedly told investigators that he had previously been admitted for psychiatric care.Crazybull was arrested Aug. 1 and indicted Aug. 20 in federal court in Idaho. He pleaded not guilty to one count of making threats against a former president.The maximum prison sentence for a count of making threats to a former president is five years.A trial is scheduled for Oct. 28.Crazybull's threats came shortly after Thomas Matthew Crooks shot Trump at a campaign rally in Pennsylvania, striking him in the ear and killing a bystander.Earlier this month, Secret Service spotted a rifle poking out of the bushes at the edge of Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach, Florida. Secret Service fired at the suspect. Ryan Wesley Routh was arrested shortly after he apparently fled the area. Routh was charged with single counts of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of a firearm with an obliterated serial number. Blaze News investigative journalist Steve Baker told Jill Savage and Matthew Peterson of “Blaze News Tonight” that Routh has a lengthy rap sheet.“Most curious, with all of these charges, 74 arrests, how much time did he spend incarcerated? None. Zero,” Baker said. Trump campaign spokesperson Steven Cheung again blamed rhetoric spread by Vice President Kamala Harris and other Democrats for the threats.“There have been two heinous assassination attempts on President Trump, and their violent rhetoric are directly to blame,” Cheung told NBC News.“If the Democrats and Kamala Harris do not come out and apologize for their hateful rhetoric and tone down their attacks that have stoked the flames of violence, they are explicitly advocating for and inciting more bloodshed against President Trump,” Cheung declared. Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris said that she would back a radical change in congressional rules, and two moderate liberal senators are trashing her for it. Harris said Democrats should take away the Senate filibuster in order to pass a national right to abortion with just a simple majority of the upper legislative house, but even some on the left registered their disapproval. 'I think that basically can destroy our country. ... I think it's the most horrible thing.' Democratic Senator Joe Manchin of West Virginia said he would refuse to endorse Harris over the policy. “Shame on her. She knows the filibuster is the holy grail of democracy. It's the only thing that keeps us talking and working together. If she gets rid of that, then this would be the House on steroids," he said, according to CNN. "I think that basically can destroy our country, and my country is more important to me than any one person or any one person's ideology," he added. "I think it's the most horrible thing." Sen. Kyrsten Sinema of Arizona, who was previously a Democrat but has become an independent, also criticized Harris. "To state the supremely obvious, eliminating the filibuster to codify Roe v Wade also enables a future Congress to ban all abortion nationwide. What an absolutely terrible, shortsighted idea," she posted on social media.
