Election Interference? Zaslav’s CNN Misleads Readers to Hide Massive Retail Crime

CNN tried to claim on Friday that rampant shoplifting and its economic consequences are finally receding, but even the outlet’s own article couldn’t back up that claim.  CNN—owned by Warner Bros Discovery, a company led by Democrat donor David Zaslav—published a Sept. 13 article trying to minimize a major weakness for the left ahead of the 2024 election: rampant crime. CNN Business Reporter Nathaniel Meyersohn announced that a retail industry category called “shrink,” which included shoplifting but also at least four other inputs, was decreasing in reality and in retailers’ earnings calls. Meyersohn then admitted in paragraph 31 that the only element of “shrink” the public really cares about, shoplifting, was in fact increasing. Meyersohn wrote, “In fact, the shoplifting rate during the first half of 2024 in major cities was 24% higher, on average, than the same period last year, according to a recent analysis by the Council on Criminal Justice, a nonpartisan criminal justice policy organization. The shoplifting rate in the first half of 2024 was also 10% higher than in the first half of 2019.” Meyersohn penned this misleading beginning followed by this stunning admission for a media outlet ultimately run by a major democratic donor, Warner Bros Discovery CEO David Zaslav. Zaslav had donated $240,854 to Democrat candidates, traditional political action committees (PAC) or other affiliated groups in 2020-2021, according to Harvard University’s “Future of Media Project.” As reported by The Federalist, Zaslav’s “contributions skew overwhelmingly to Democrats, with $66,800 to the Hillary Victory Fund in 2016, $100,000 to Nancy Pelosi’s Victory Fund in 2019, and more than $100,000 to the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee in recent years.” Moreover, Zaslav and his wife even gave $10,000 each to former then-Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley in 2013, according to The Washington Post. These donations are very relevant because hiding an admission like this in paragraph 31 may make it all but invisible to the average reader. MRC Vice President for Research and Publications Brent Baker has emphasized that a significant number of readers only read the headline, while there are further drop-offs from the first paragraph, to the first two paragraphs to later in the piece.  For example, even an economics columnist for The New York Times could be fooled by an article with such a strong bias by placement if he didn’t read far enough. Partisan cheerleader and economics columnist for The New York Times Paul Krugman posted the article on X, absurdly writing, “OK, so immigrants aren’t eating pets, and murder rates are way down. But what about the huge wave of shoplifting? Well, it’s either fading fast, or was exaggerated. It may not even have happened.” OK, so immigrants aren’t eating pets, and murder rates are way down. But what about the huge wave of shoplifting? Well, it’s either fading fast, or was exaggerated. It may not even have happenedhttps://t.co/A8629mNiaD — Paul Krugman (@paulkrugman) September 13, 2024 But burying the increased shoplifting statistics in his reporting wasn’t the only bone Meyersohn threw to the left. The article also strongly implied that the retail theft crisis was overblown in the first place. In a paragraph that packaged “shrink” and theft together, Meyersohn cited a claim that retailers had “‘overexaggerated’ the impact” of “shrink” and theft.  Finally, in the same section where Meyersohn admitted that shoplifting was up, Meyersohn also owned up to the inadequacy of the “shrink” term that littered the top portion of the article that most readers might actually see. “Shrink is just one part of the story … and does not factor in other concerns stemming from theft like violence against workers, physical damage to stores and customer and employee perceptions of store safety,” he conceded.  CNN and Warner Bros Discovery did not respond to a request for comment about Zaslav’s political donations. NBC’s Melvin, John Brennan SLAM Israel for Operation Beep, Beep, Boom in Lebanon

NBC’s Melvin, John Brennan SLAM Israel for Operation Beep, Beep, Boom in Lebanon

Having been conveniently reinstalled on the NBC/MSNBC payroll in time for the 2024 presidential election stretch run, Deep State scion/former CIA Director John Brennan joined Thursday’s Today to tag-team with co-host Craig Melvin to smear Israel for their unacceptable “form of warfare” with its “fire and forget” exploding pagers and walkie talkie operations against Hezbollah in Lebanon. Melvin and Brennan first stated the obvious that the operation was “something out of a — out of a spy movie” and “something that intelligence services over the years have tried to do in terms of trying to compromise supply chains” of their enemies. That’s where the sanity ended.     Melvin then lobbed this lament: “It’s sort of — I think it does beg the question though, director, is — is detonating a wireless device — is that an acceptable form of warfare?” Brennan — who worked in the pro-Tehran Obama administration — obviously knocked Israel, saying “I don’t believe” it was acceptable behavior by Israel because they indiscriminately had “some children and others...killed” as collateral. “It’s basically almost a fire and forget mechanism that the Israelis engaged in here. So, it’s going to tactically disrupt Hezbollah’s communication capabilities...but you have to question whether or not this is a strategically wise in terms of...emboldening Hezbollah’s interest in trying to lash back against Isarel...Hezbollah is a very, very capable organization,” he added. Melvin used blaming Israel to pivot to his last question, arguing it’s the Jewish state who’s going to create a wider war, completely ignoring the fact of Hezbollah firing missiles across the border into northern Israel since October 7, keeping roughly 60,000 Israelis out. Brennan put the onus on Israel to de-escalate, fretting they may have “plan[ned] some type of large military operation to follow these disruptive activities” and smeared Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu (and not any of the Islamic terrorists) as the irrational actor: [C]learly Netanyahu, Prime Minister Netanyahu of Israel wants to vanquish not just Hamas but also Hezbollah and, quite frankly, I wish that he would use more time and effort to try to see whether or not there’s a way to bring down some of the tensions as opposed to using the military and violence to lash out against his enemies. To see the relevant NBC transcript from September 19, click “expand.” NBC’s Today September 19, 2024 7:06 a.m. Eastern [ON-SCREEN HEADLINE: New Questions About Device Explosions] CRAIG MELVIN: Let’s bring in John Brennan, the former director of the CIA, now an NBC News senior national security and intelligence analyst. Director Brennan, good morning to you. Let — let’s start there. What more can you tell us about precisely how they were able to pull off this kind of operation because it really does look like something out of a — out of a spy movie. JOHN BRENNAN: Well, it does, Craig, and I must say that the Israeli intelligence and security services have tremendous technical capability as well as creativity in terms of how they put together such operations. And so, as The New York Times is reporting, it was a shell company that apparently was set up by the Israelis that fabricated these pagers and included the explosive material inside of them that could be detonated with some digital signal that was sent. So, again, this is something that intelligence services over the years have tried to do in terms of trying to compromise supply chains. Usually, it’s for surveillance or collection capabilities so you can listen in on conversations or something along those lines, but the scale of this really is quite unprecedented. But again, it just demonstrates that Israel’s ability to reach into the supply chain of one of its arch enemies, Hezbollah. MELVIN: It’s sort of — I think it does beg the question though, director, is — is detonating a wireless device — is that an acceptable form of warfare? BRENNAN: Well, I don’t, I don’t believe so because there’s no way the Israelis would have known who was going to have these pages at the time, which is why we see that there were some children and others who were killed. It’s basically almost a fire and forget mechanism that the Israelis engaged in here. So, it’s going to tactically disrupt Hezbollah’s communication capabilities and in terms of their ability to communicate with one another, but you have to question whether or not this is a strategically wise in terms of what it might do in terms of just further emboldening Hezbollah’s interest in trying to lash back against Israel, including on the international terrorist front because Hezbollah is a very, very capable organization in terms of launching terrorist attacks outside of the region. They’ve done it over the years and so I — I do think that Hassan Nasrallah, the head of Hezbollah, is going to feel quite a bit of pressure from his organization to lash back at Israel and sooner rather than later. MELVIN: What — what do you say about the possibility after these attacks, the possibility that something like this does in fact lead to a large scale conflict between Israel and Lebanon? BRENNAN: Well, the big question is whether or not the Israelis plan some type of large military operation to follow these disruptive activities over the past two days if a um an army, a military is going to launch a military operation. They’ll try to degrade the communication systems of the enemy first. So was this some type of preparation of the battlefield to allow the Israelis then to be able to strike against Hezbollah and Hezbollah not being able to defend itself? So, I do think we — this is a greater potential now for escalation. A lot depends on how Hezbollah responds, but clearly Netanyahu, Prime Minister Netanyahu of Israel wants to vanquish not just Hamas but also Hezbollah and, quite frankly, I wish that he would use more time and effort to try to see whether or not there’s a way to bring down some of the tensions as opposed to using the military and violence to lash out against his enemies. MELVIN: Former CIA Director John Brenan. Director Brennan, thank you, sir. Thank you. BRENNAN: Thanks, Craig.

'Please go to Springfield': '90s NBA star Rex Chapman asks media to ignore second Trump shooting attempt, cover Ohio instead

Former NBA player Rex Chapman said he prefers the media cover the story of Haitian migrants in Ohio rather than see coverage of the second assassination attempt of former President Donald Trump.Chapman, who spent 13 seasons in the NBA from 1988-2000, is vehemently anti-Trump and has no problem consistently calling the former president racist.Recently, after Haitian migrants were accused of eating local animals in Springfield, Ohio, Chapman expressed that he would prefer the media focus on that story rather than an attempted assassination on Trump in Florida."Media - please go to Springfield and cover the story there. Not the one on the golf course in Florida. We’re watching," Chapman wrote on X. — (@) 'Trump and especially JD Vance are making up racist lies.'Chapman disavowed "political violence" in relation to the assassination attempts against Trump but also equated it to the idea that Trump's "lies" inspire "bomb threats against hospitals and elementary schools."The former player went on to call the Ohio story a "racist lie," throwing significant support behind Haitian immigrants. "You ever meet someone from Haiti? They are the sweetest, most earnest, most beautiful people on the planet.""They're working hard, paying taxes, filling up churches, and helping rebuild a deserted community," Chapman continued. "Trump and especially JD Vance are making up racist lies about violence, drugs and disease because they are racist liars." — (@) Chapman joins the Miami Heat, which he played for in 1995-1996, in its support for the Haitian immigrants. The Heat released a lengthy statement about the story, despite having no Haitian players on the team."The false narrative surrounding them is hurtful and offensive and has sadly made innocent people targets of hateful speech and physical threats," the team wrote. The Heat faced swift backlash from fans with many responding with AI-generated memes showing Trump hugging animals like cats and ducks, the kinds of creatures the Haitians have been accused of eating. — (@) Chapman recently made a series of statements about Trump's performance during the presidential debate against Kamala Harris, saying Trump "sounds insane," while implying Vice President Harris was the only entirely truthful candidate."If an elderly relative was saying what Trump is saying at tonight’s debate at a family gathering - you’d laugh, roll your eyes - and fix yourself a stiff drink to get through the rest of the visit," he wrote on X."They keep saying, 'They only fact checked Trump!' Because she wasn't lying," Chapman added.Like Blaze News? Bypass the censors, sign up for our newsletters, and get stories like this direct to your inbox. Sign up here!

CNN analyst: Kamala is the ‘worst polling Democrat in history against Donald Trump’

A CNN analyst has done something incredibly brave on the network — which is, of course, telling the truth. The analyst, Ryan Girdusky, did the unthinkable and brought up Kamala’s flip-flopping and disastrous performance in the polls on a panel with CNN’s very own Van Jones. It began when Van Jones admitted that the Democrats had “bad ideas” in 2020, and Girdusky looked at Jones directly and blamed the Black Lives Matter movement and its emphasis on equity. Then, he went after Kamala. “At 60 years old, which is about what she is, she had a transformational life experience apparently, where in 1,000 days she has changed from a Bernie Sanders Democrat to a pro-choice Bush Democrat,” Girdusky explained to the confused panel. “She has abandoned almost every position, not just on fracking,” he continued, noting she was also for reparations. “She was gung-ho for a multi-trillion-dollar policy, never mentions it, she’s completely against it.” “Obviously, the transgender illegal aliens in prison, which she did sit there and say that she was for. She was against ICE, she was for open borders, defund the police,” he added. Then he went for the jugular, calling her the “worst polling Democrat against Donald Trump in history on national polls.” “No one is performing worse than her, no one’s performing worse ... among blacks, among Hispanics. The worst performing Democrat in modern history among those demographics, the worst performing polling-wise among Jews. She is losing key factions of the Democratic base,” he said, adding, “She is not doing well.” Dave Rubin of “The Rubin Report” is surprised and a little impressed. “That was very interesting. I want to give Ryan credit there, like a sort of double credit because first off, he’s sitting with a whole bunch of un-friendlies, but notice he’s laying out information,” Rubin says. “Look what happens when someone comes on there and calmly tells you the truth. They sit there sort of slack-jawed.” Want more from Dave Rubin? To enjoy more honest conversations, free speech, and big ideas with Dave Rubin, subscribe to BlazeTV — the largest multi-platform network of voices who love America, defend the Constitution, and live the American dream.

Whitlock called it: Diddy is the Jeffrey Epstein of the music industry

It gives a whole new meaning to "Bad Boy for Life."Sean “Diddy” Combs may be adding a new moniker to his lengthy roster of aliases: the eight-digit number assigned to inmates in the federal prison system. The rap impresario's recent indictment on sex trafficking and racketeering charges has sent shockwaves through the industry, lending credence to Blaze Media commentator Jason Whitlock's speculation that Diddy is the Jeffrey Epstein of the music biz. After leaving office, Barack Obama was spotted hanging out with Diddy. What were the two men up to — and did it have anything to do with the 1,000 bottles of baby oil the feds seized from the latter's mansion?Arrested on serious federal charges, the 54-year-old has been denied bail and is currently in solitary confinement at the Special Housing Unit of the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn. This high-security unit is known for housing dangerous and high-profile inmates like R. Kelly, a man Diddy knows very well, disgraced crypto mogul Sam Bankman-Fried, and Ghislaine Maxwell, Jeffrey Epstein’s right-hand woman. The indictment accuses the once-untouchable mogul of running a “criminal enterprise” through his vast business empire, with allegations spanning sex trafficking, forced labor, kidnapping, arson, bribery, and obstruction of justice. Prosecutors argue that Diddy’s continued freedom jeopardizes the integrity of the case, pointing to his previous attempts to contact victims and witnesses as evidence. His legal team will appeal the bail denial before U.S. District Court Judge Andrew Carter. If the appeal fails, Diddy will remain behind bars. And, many would argue, this is probably where he deserves to be. Diddy’s dudesDiddy’s ties to powerful figures in Hollywood and politics are strikingly similar to Jeffrey Epstein’s network. Whereas Epstein had a "thing" for young girls, Diddy appears to have one for young boys — specifically, up-and-coming young talent in the music industry. www.youtube.com For example, the resurfacing of disturbing videos showing a 15-year-old Justin Bieber speaking with Diddy raises some very serious questions. In the footage, Diddy can be heard stating, "Where we hanging out and what we’re doing we really can’t disclose. But it’s definitely a 15-year-old’s dream."Or nightmare. The 2016 Howard Stern interview with Usher revealed unsettling details about his experience living with Diddy at just 14 years old. Why, one wonders, was a 14-year-old boy residing with a grown man with no ties to his family?Diddy’s vast network includes high-profile names like Will Smith and Ashton Kutcher, both of whom have also faced controversy in recent times. As you no doubt recall, Smith’s public image was severely damaged when he assaulted Chris Rock at the Oscars. As for Kutcher, his extremely close friendship with Danny Masterson, a Scientology nut and convicted rapist, has drawn widespread criticism and damaged his own reputation. Then there’s Cuba Gooding Jr. Remember him? Once a Hollywood powerhouse, the actor is best known for his performances in films like "A Few Good Men" and "Jerry Maguire," where he delivered the iconic, "Show me the money!" line. Subsequent roles in "Men of Honor" and "Pearl Harbor" further solidified his status as a leading man — on screen and, it seems, in Mr. Diddy’s life.In a recent interview with Patrick Bet-David, Gooding Jr. appeared visibly uncomfortable and evasive when questioned about the allegations surrounding the music man. His response was a jittery mess of mumbling and evasion, leading YouTube commenters to speculate that Gooding Jr. might be hiding more about the alleged criminal activities than he’s letting on. His reluctance to offer clear answers has sparked rumors about possible connections to Diddy and whether fear or complicity is driving his silence.Diddy's diaryMuch like Epstein’s infamous black book, Diddy’s Rolodex was supposedly packed with high-profile names. As the New York Post reported, he forged partnerships with billionaire investor Ron Burkle and hedge fund titan Ray Dalio. Diddy’s fashion line hit Macy’s and Dillard’s, and he took major business strides with stakes in Revolt TV and beverage giant Diageo, a collaboration with Estée Lauder heir William Lauder, and he made deals with Zac Posen and Liz Claiborne. He also launched a water brand with Mark Wahlberg and partnered with Marc Benioff of Salesforce to build a marketplace for black-owned businesses. In the early 2000s, Diddy made a bold move by cold-emailing then-Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban, pitching his idea to design the team’s uniforms. Diddy's gamble paid off, linking his Sean John line with a major sports team. Cuban, known for his nonstop, left-leaning diatribes, has been unusually tight-lipped about this Diddy connection. But, as always, there’s more.Diddy's danger? After leaving office, Barack Obama was spotted hanging out with Diddy. What were the two men up to — and did it have anything to do with the 1,000 bottles of baby oil the feds seized from the latter's mansion? What we do know, however, is that Diddy didn’t act alone. He was, up until very recently, actively engaged with a network of influential figures. Like Epstein, Diddy built connections with high-profile individuals to protect his own nefarious activities. The multimillionaire's annual White Party, a magnet for the elite of American culture over the past 20-something years, only reinforced his image of invincibility. Now, it remains to be seen whether Diddy will reveal his accomplices or follow in Epstein’s footsteps, conveniently suiciding himself before he can incriminate anyone truly powerful. To quote Diddy's one-time protégé Shyne, who recently claimed he was his boss' "fall guy" in the 1999 nightclub shooting that landed him 10 years in lock-up: "Whatcha gonna do when s**t hits the fan, take it like a man or snitch like a b***h?"
