Hollywood star Kathy Bates announced that she’s done her final project and will retire once the reboot of CBS’ “Matlock” airs later this month. Speaking to The New York Times, the 76-year-old actress shared how she had planned on retiring before she was sent the script to play Madeline Matlock in the reboot of the popular attorney TV series that aired from 1986-1995 and had Andy Griffith playing the lead. “This is my last dance,” Bates said as she revealed that she knew it was time to quit after she ended up crying on her sofa during an unnamed movie shoot. “It becomes my life,” she added. “Sometimes I get jealous of having this talent. Her impressive resume includes the 1990 movie based on Stephen King’s horror novel “Misery” in which Bates played a fan who kidnaps her favorite author (played by James Caan) and subjects him to a whole host of horrific tortures to get him to revive her favorite characters storyline. The role was a huge boost to her career and led to her capturing the “‘Best Actress’ Oscar and Golden Globe award, a first in that genre (horror) for that category,” IMDb noted. A year later, Bates appeared in the flashback period piece “Fried Green Tomatoes” alongside actress Jessica Tandy. In 1995, Bates landed a “Best Supporting Actress” nomination for her role in the 1998 political movie “Primary Colors.” Bates has also done work on the small screen, landing 14 Emmy awards or nominations to date for her appearances on such series as “Six Feet Under” in 2001, “The Office” in 2005, “Harry’s Law” in 2011, and “American Horror Story” that same year for which she won an Emmy as Ethel Darling. “Matlock” debuts on CBS on September 22 and will later stream on Paramount+, People magazine noted. Former President Donald Trump plans to hold Vice President Kamala Harris accountable for President Joe Biden’s “nightmare” administration at Tuesday’s presidential debate, Trump advisers said Monday. Trump senior adviser Jason Miller, joined by Rep. Matt Gaetz of Florida and former congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard, discussed Trump’s debate strategy on a call with reporters Monday afternoon. Trump will focus on communicating his own “record of success” and highlighting how the Biden-Harris administration has “broken this country” when he takes the debate stage in Philadelphia, Miller said. Gaetz pointed out that the “stakes are higher” for Harris since she has not been taking questions from the media, instead remaining “wrapped in bubble wrap since securing the nomination.” “It’s very clear that Kamala Harris is the one who’s been running the country the entire time,” Miller said. “You can’t talk about turning the page when you’re the one who created our current nightmare. You just can’t.” As “Border Czar,” Miller said, Harris is responsible for the ongoing border crisis. He highlighted her deciding vote for two stimulus bills “which led to sky-high inflation,” and noted that she boasted about being the last person in the room before Biden carried out the “disastrous” Afghanistan withdrawal. He also referenced the Biden-Harris administration’s response to the Maui wildfires, the East Palestine, Ohio train derailment, and more. “Every single one of these disasters are on Kamala Harris.” “I would expect there’ll be some surprises during the debate tomorrow,” he added. The Florida congressman also pointed out that Harris is “not some new arrival in American politics,” before listing off her “dangerously liberal” record on crime, progressive prosecutors, the border, and more. Gabbard similarly critiqued Harris’s record on foreign policy, calling Harris’s decisions “disastrous” and accusing her of embroiling the United States in “wars spanning three continents.” “She’s shown how little she values the relationship with Israel through her actions,” Gabbard said, noting that Harris skipped Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s joint address to Congress and critiquing Harris for going “back and forth” on the question of enacting an arms embargo against Israel as the country seeks to defeat Hamas. Gabbard referenced the attempted terrorist attack that American authorities uncovered days before the anniversary of 9/11. “Kamala Harris refuses to use the term ‘radical Islamist terrorism,’ which begs the question, how can the American people actually trust her to defeat this threat that is still ever present ideologically and militarily if she doesn’t understand it and refuses to identify it?” Gabbard asked. “You can’t.” Harris, meanwhile, has spent the last week in a Pittsburgh hotel preparing for the debate in “highly choreographed debate practice sessions” with an adviser who is not only acting like Trump, but dressed like him, according to The New York Times. The Times reports that Harris will try to portray Trump as a rich, “stale old act” who is focused only on helping the wealthy. Rather than tell voters that Trump is evil, Harris will reportedly try to win over undecided voters who are concerned about the economy and want to hear from both Trump and Harris on how the candidates will improve Americans’ lives.

Just like he did with “What Is a Woman?” in 2022, the Daily Wire podcast host managed to expose the sham of left-wing activists, making them the butt of the joke without them realizing it, while simultaneously drawing attention to critical social topics. Walsh sat down with Ben Shapiro for an episode of his popular “Sunday Special” series to discuss the humorous elements of this latest exposé, which explores the massive grift of the DEI industry. First, Shapiro asked about Walsh’s acting background, mentioning how there are some parts in “Am I Racist?” where he needed to use those kinds of skills. Walsh replied that he was in the critically acclaimed film “Lady Ballers,” but beyond that had no formal training. “My process for acting is… I pretended… I figured, I’ll just pretend. That’s my whole process,” he said. “It’s actually kind of easy,” Walsh continued. “Like, I think anyone can be a passable actor.” Walsh also talked about his legendary ability to keep a deadpan demeanor even in extreme situations. “I mean, the answer of doing the deadpan is I was born without a soul,” the podcast host said. “I don’t know…  I’m an emotionless freak, I suppose is the answer. People ask me that all the time, but how do you manage that? Like, that’s just that’s how I am, I guess.” “I guess when you have this thing of not showing emotions, you have to find a way to channel it,” he added. Later, the pair discussed some of the preparation that went into the film, including Shapiro asking if Walsh had actually read all the anti-racist propaganda that was featured in the comedy. Walsh said he did read “White Fragility” in preparation for his conversation with author Robin DiAngelo. “Truly, an awful piece of s***,” Shapiro said of the best-selling book. “It’s horrific,” Walsh agreed. “So, you know from reading the book that it’s not only [that] the ideas are terrible, obviously, but it’s also just bad writing. It’s a slog to get through. There’s nothing entertaining. It’s just like being nagged while you sit there for hours reading this book. It’s just a very unpleasant experience.” Walsh said he didn’t feel that it was necessary to read all the DEI books because they all repeated the same stale talking points.  “Once you read one book… you get the idea. It’s always the same thing. It’s the same ideas. All the people we talked to in the film, they all have the same central thesis, which is that white people are inherently racist and are the villains of history” he said.  The conversation inevitably turned to some of the people featured in “Am I Racist?” including DiAngelo herself. Walsh said he hasn’t heard from her team yet despite her being featured in the movie trailer, but that one extremely embarrassing moment did get included in the final cut. “Probably a lot of them are sitting kind of nervous right now and thinking about embarrassing things they said and thinking like, ‘God, I hope that didn’t make it into the film,’” Walsh said. “I can tell them right now it did And to Robin D’Angelo in particular, there’s one moment that she’s thinking, ‘My gosh, I hope that’s not in there.” Oh it is, Robin. Former United Nations Ambassador Nikki Haley remains without government-provided security, despite facing years of credible threats from Iranian-linked actors, including one revealed as recently as Thursday. A source close to Haley told The Daily Wire that the former South Carolina governor was told in 2021 that Iran had placed her on a “kill list” because of her work at the UN. The FBI told Haley during her presidential campaign that Tehran was targeting her campaign. Haley mentioned the FBI’s warning during her campaign. During a Sunday interview with CBS’s Face the Nation, Haley revealed that she was targeted by an Iranian-backed “murder-for-hire plot,” which was foiled in July. “When I was running my presidential campaign the FBI had a separate hearing with me to let me know that Iran was influencing the election with our campaign to hurt me,” she said. “The murder-for-hire plot, named me. That’s by Iran.” Revelation of the threats against Haley come as the Secret Service falls under scrutiny following the failed assassination attempt on President Trump in July at a Butler, Pennsylvania rally. The source close to Haley said she asked Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas for protection on January 26, 2024, after the campaign received an increase in threats.  Incidents included a would-be attacker trying to climb over a staffer to enter the car carrying Haley at a New Hampshire rally. Though he was stopped by security, he showed up at additional campaign rallies. Anti-Israel protesters also became violent with staff and rally attendees and refused to leave at other events.  Haley’s South Carolina home has been repeatedly targeted, and visited by unknown individuals. Haley has received multiple death threats deemed credible by law enforcement, according to the source. On February 13, the Candidate Protection Advisory Committee informed the Haley campaign it was reviewing the candidate’s request for protection. The committee voted in favor of granting Haley a protective detail, leaving the final decision to Mayorkas, the Associated Press reported on February 16. Haley never heard back from Mayorkas, and suspended her campaign on March 6. Other former Trump officials who have received similar threats from Iran have received government-provided security, including former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and one of his top aides, Brian Hook, both of whom had their details renewed in December 2023. It was the 13th time Pompeo received an extension. Former Trump national security advisors John Bolton and Robert O’Brien also received Secret Service protection long after leaving office, in response to Iranian threats. Bolton, who was ousted from the White House in September 2019, did not receive protection until December 2021, when Iranian threats were made known, according to CBS News. The FBI granted Secret Service protection for Bolton, reported Fox News. According to FBI records from July, a 46-year-old Pakistani citizen with ties to Iran, Asif Merchant was charged with attempting to hire a hitman to steal documents, murder a politician, and plan a protest as a distraction after the murder. Merchant was caught after offering $5,000 to two undercover agents to carry out the hit. He was arrested on July 12, 2024, the day he planned to leave the United States. The FBI documents do not mention the intended target, and instead say Merchant — who has wives and children in both Iran and Pakistan — was planning to give instructions about who he planned to have assassinated once he left the United States  On Thursday, Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA) released new information about an Iran-backed plot to assassinate prominent politicians including President Joe Biden, former President Donald Trump, and Haley. The document released by Grassley on Thursday states that Trump, Biden, and Haley were floated as possible targets. Grassley obtained the unclassified FBI records through legally-protected whistleblower disclosures. The document has since been removed from Grassley’s website. The assassination plot was reportedly planned in retaliation for the Trump administration’s 2020 assassination of Qasem Solemaini, leader of Iran’s Quds Force leader and architect of Iranian terror in the Middle East. Haley applauded Solemaini’s death, stating it left the Iranian regime’s leaders “shaking in their boots.” Iran sanctioned Haley in January 2022, the second anniversary of Solemaini’s death. Haley called the sanctions a “badge of honor.” “When you get sanctioned by Iran, the world’s leading state sponsor of terror, you know you’re doing something right,” Haley tweeted. Grassley said he wrote the FBI, Department of Homeland Security, Secret Service, and Transportation Security Administration to learn what steps they’ve taken to investigate the plot. He added that he sent the letter after an “inconclusive” DHS-FBI congressional briefing last week failed to “provide full transparency”  “Bad actors are determined to wreak havoc on our country, and American political leaders across both parties are sitting squarely in the crosshairs,” Grassley said in a press release. “In this extraordinarily heightened threat environment, federal agencies ought to be laser-focused on building up public trust and reassuring the American people of their efforts to carry out their protective missions.” The FBI declined to comment. The Department of Homeland Security and the Secret Service did not respond to a request for comment.

In a bold campaign declaration, former President Donald Trump has promised to take legal action against those he claims "cheated" in the 2020 election, should he win in 2024. Speaking at a rally and on social media, Trump vowed that he would prosecute these individuals "to the fullest extent of the law" and warned that long-term prison sentences would be part of the punishment for those involved in what he calls "rampant cheating" and "skullduggery" by the Democrats. The 2024 GOP frontrunner has made election integrity a cornerstone of his campaign, frequently pointing to what he continues to claim were widespread irregularities in the 2020 election, despite a lack of evidence supporting these allegations. Courts across the country rejected challenges to the 2020 results, but Trump remains adamant that fraud occurred. In a post on Truth Social, Trump stated, “WHEN I WIN, those people that CHEATED will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the Law, which will include long term prison sentences so that this Depravity of Justice does not happen again”​. Trump’s warnings come at a time when the first ballots of the 2024 election have started to be cast, and he has repeatedly urged his supporters to be vigilant. During a recent rally, he stressed the need to watch the election process carefully, emphasizing that “we cannot let our country further devolve into a Third World Nation”​.
