ALERT: Salmonella Outbreak In Multiple States Reportedly Linked To Recalled Eggs

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention issued an alert for a Salmonella outbreak linked to eggs. The agency reported 65 illnesses and 24 hospitalizations across nine states. “Milo’s Poultry Farms, LLC. of Bonduel, WI is recalling all ‘Milo’s Poultry Farms’ and ‘Tony’s Fresh Market’ branded eggs because these eggs have the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella, an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems,” an FDA alert read. “Milo’s Poultry Farms’ eggs were distributed in Wisconsin, Illinois, and Michigan through retail stores and foodservice distributors,” the alert added. SALMONELLA OUTBREAK: 65 people sick in 9 states from eggs labeled with “Milo’s Poultry Farms” or “Tony’s Fresh Market." Do not eat recalled eggs, throw them away or return them to the store. Learn more about this outbreak: https://t.co/SplJeusjWF pic.twitter.com/Xm6bUPWIK3 — CDC (@CDCgov) September 6, 2024 From the FDA: This recall includes: All carton sizes and all egg types labeled with “Milo’s Poultry Farms.” This recall covers all expiration dates. All carton sizes of “Tony’s Fresh Market” branded eggs, all expiration dates. All cases of eggs for retail foodservice distribution, all expiration dates. The recall was initiated after the FDA informed the company that environmental samples tested positive for the bacteria. FDA also conducted whole genome sequencing and found that the samples were related to an ongoing Salmonella outbreak investigation. Milo’s Poultry Farms, LLC. has ceased production and distribution at this time and will undergo appropriate testing and sanitization of farms and processing equipment. According to a map posted by the CDC, the states where sick individuals lived include: Wisconsin Illinois Michigan Iowa Minnesota Virginia Colorado Utah California The FDA and CDC are investigating a salmonella outbreak linked to eggs. The eggs are now being recalled in nine states. https://t.co/Clx1yx12ps — Coloradoan (@coloradoan) September 7, 2024 Per USA TODAY: “The true number of sick people in this outbreak is likely much higher than the number reported, and the outbreak may not be limited to the states with known illnesses,” the CDC says. “This is because many people recover without medical care and are not tested for Salmonella. In addition, recent illnesses may not yet be reported as it usually takes 3 to 4 weeks to determine if a sick person is part of an outbreak.” The CDC investigation broke down the demographics of the 65 cases reported for the egg recall. People who contracted salmonella ages ranged from two to 88 years old. Fifty-six percent of the cases were females and 46% were male. The race majority for the 65 cases were white which accounted for 92%, followed by 5% African-American or Black and 3% Asian. Milo’s Poultry Farms, LLC is in Bonduel, Wisconsin, about 29 miles north of Green Bay, Wisconsin.

George W. Bush Asked If He Will Make Presidential Endorsement

Former President George W. Bush said he has no plans to make a public endorsement in the 2024 presidential election. “President Bush retired from presidential politics years ago,” Bush’s office told NBC News in a statement. Per NBC News: The Trump campaign did not immediately respond to a request for comment. A spokesperson for Vice President Kamala Harris’ campaign declined to comment but pointed to the campaign’s Republican outreach efforts. Bush’s former vice president, Dick Cheney, announced on Friday that he would back Harris in the November election. “In our nation’s 248-year history, there has never been an individual who is a greater threat to our republic than Donald Trump,” Cheney said in a statement. “He tried to steal the last election using lies and violence to keep himself in power after the voters had rejected him. He can never be trusted with power again.” Days earlier, the former vice president’s daughter, former Wyoming Rep. Liz Cheney, said that she would cast her ballot for Harris. Both Cheneys, who are Republicans, have been critical of former President Donald Trump, and the younger Cheney has been especially outspoken. George W. In the 2016 election, Bush voted straight Republican on the ticket but left the presidential line empty — opting not to vote for either Donald Trump or Hillary Clinton. During Trump’s first reelection bid in 2020, Bush didn’t cast a vote for either Trump or President Joe Biden. He wrote in Condoleezza Rice’s name, his former secretary of state who served in his administration from 2005 to 2009. Bush shared the shocking revelation during an interview with People in 2021, saying he told Rice of his endorsement.

Don’t Trust the News from the Asylum Media

The Internet readily provides original sources of stories, and it is wise to go to the originals before trusting the mainstream media. They lie and manipulate. The media is on board with the asylum in D.C. and dishes out non-stop propaganda. When they aren’t dishing it out, they are interviewing liars and never correcting a […] The post Don’t Trust the News from the Asylum Media appeared first on www.independentsentinel.com.

Ben Carson Has Great Expectations For ‘Most Consequential’ Trump-Kamala Debate

The upcoming presidential debate will be “one of the most consequential” in history as voters will get a chance to hear Vice President Kamala Harris say what she believes after a series of flip-flops, Dr. Ben Carson said on Sunday. Carson, who served as secretary of housing and urban development under former President Donald Trump, appeared on Fox News’ “Sunday Morning Futures” and shared his steep expectations for the debate set to take place Tuesday evening on ABC. It will be the second debate of the 2024 general election cycle, following one in June that featured Trump and President Joe Biden. After Biden’s fumbling performance sparked a crisis of confidence among his allies, he stepped aside under pressure. Dr. @RealBenCarson: "I think it's going to be one of the most consequential debates ever because people will finally get a chance to hear from Kamala Harris what she believes. All this business about 'flip-flopping' — you have to wonder if she has really flip-flopped because she… pic.twitter.com/T70NFfbvrh — Trump War Room (@TrumpWarRoom) September 8, 2024 “I think it’s going to be one of the most consequential debates ever, because people will finally get a chance to hear from Kamala Harris what she believes,” Carson said. “And all this business about flip-flopping, you have to wonder if she has really flipped-flopped, because she said that her values have not changed. So what kind of values are we talking about? Values that, as the DA in San Francisco, led to a policy where people can go into stores and take $900 worth of stuff with little or no consequences, or values that lead to not deporting drug dealers who are resulting in the death of American citizens?” He added, “Or the kind of values that allow you to kill babies right up until the time of birth, and maybe even beyond that time, opposing legislation that would save babies that survive abortion attempts? You have to wonder about that — values that need you to mandate what kind of car people should drive, what kind of stoves they should have, as opposed to letting free market forces — so what you’re going to see in the debate is Donald Trump running on his past policies and Kamala Harris running away from her past policies. So it should make for a very, very interesting evening.” Axios reported last week that Harris has “shifted views or her current position is unknown” across nine areas, including on fracking, reparations, building a wall along the southwest border, and Medicare for All. Harris recently insisted on CNN, during her first and only major TV interview since embarking on her own campaign, that her “values have not changed” despite the flip-flops. Polls have shown a very close race, with a fresh New York Times/Siena survey showing Harris’ convention “bounce” dissipating ahead of her first debate against Trump. Jason Chaffetz, a former Republican congressman from Utah who was filling in as guest host on “Futures,” responded to Carson, “Yes, you kind of wonder, is Kamala Harris going to debate Kamala Harris? I mean, because her policies on the core issues, major flip-flops. And one of those things that I think is going to be at the forefront of a lot of people’s mind has to do with — and you’re a doctor — Medicare For All. Is she really, truly supporting the notion that she would get rid of private insurance for more than 100 million Americans, and make sure that it’s a government-run health care system? Because that’s what she has advocated for.” In reply, Carson said, “Well, she has advocated that in the past. Of course, she will probably try to run away from it. Interestingly enough, those who are students of history know that Vladimir Lenin said that socialized medicine is the linchpin for socialism. This is the way that you bring it in. When you have control of people’s health, you have control of them. And we spend an enormous amount of money on health care in this country, more than any other country, $13,100 per capita per year.” Carson went on, “Can you imagine what you could do with that money in an efficient system, an efficient system that used health care savings accounts or something of that nature, where there was real accountability and transparency? Those are the kinds of things that obviously need to be talked about and explored to a much greater degree than we are now. But socialized medicine has only led to much poorer distribution of medicine everywhere it has been tried. And the same thing would happen in this country as well.” At the end of the interview, Chaffetz noted how Carson has experience on the debate stage, where he faced Trump and others during the 2016 Republican primary contest and asked Carson to give his “final guess” on what will happen Tuesday night. “I think Kamala Harris is going to try to get under Donald Trump’s skin,” Carson said. “That’s what the preparation is all about. How do you get under his skin? Also, she needs to be told what her policies are, because she doesn’t really know what they are. Nobody else does either. Donald Trump doesn’t have to prep, because the truth is always the truth. You don’t have to try to figure out what things will resonate with people. You just say who you are. He’s very transparent. And I think the people will appreciate that. So it’s going to be a widely watched debate. It’s going to be a lot of fun.”

Here’s Why Michael Keaton Has “Zero Regrets” About Turning Down Blockbusters To Be A Dad

Any parent will tell you that balancing family and a career is no easy task. We want to be there for our kids as much as we can, and sometimes, it takes some creativity. And that’s just for us regular folks. Talk to stars in Hollywood, and some will tell you that they’ve given up starring roles to be with their kids. People like Michael Keaton have no regrets about doing it. Michael has appeared in some of our favorite movies, like Mr. Mom, Batman, and Beetlejuice, which has a sequel out this weekend. While we love watching Michael on screen, he also loves being a dad. His son, Sean Douglas, means so much to him that he turned down big roles and even bigger paychecks for fatherhood. View this post on Instagram A post shared by The Tonight Show (@fallontonight) Michael Keaton Would Do It All Over Again The Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice star told People that his penchant for turning down roles earned him the nickname “Dr. No.” But that didn’t matter to him. He wanted to be with Sean and now spends time with his grandkids, River and Maggie. Michael says kids are only kids for a short time, and he doesn’t want to miss out. “You look back, and you go, ‘Zero regret. Zero, zero,'” he told the publication. “That’s not to say if I’ll see a movie that I didn’t do, and I go, ‘Oh, boy. That turned out to be a good movie.’ But the choice was always the correct choice. I always wanted to be a dad.” Michael Keaton adores Sean and says he’s a good dad, and his late mom, Caroline McWilliams, was an equally fantastic parent. “I will take credit for being a good father. I will give his mom enormous credit for being a tremendous mom. Great, great, great mom,” he said. “And that’s why he’s a good kid.” Michael added that Sean is special and that being his dad is a gift. “But also, you know what it is? It’s him. I think there’s something in some people that’s just in them. I mean, there’s no question, parenting is not just important, it’s key, right? But sometimes there’s just something in certain people. So, the rest of the credit I give to him. He just is built a certain way, always was. Sweet guy, thoughtful.” This story’s featured image is by Fred Duval via Shutterstock.
