The Software Freedom Conservancy (SFC) announced last week that the OpenWrt One, a Wi-Fi router created with open-source software in mind, is now available to buy for $89 on AliExpress. The SFC says the router “will never be locked down” and gives its owners the “right to change, modify, and repair” as they like. The OpenWrt One is aimed at giving owners a “hacker-friendly device” that doesn’t rely on private companies’ update schedules and won’t lose support over time. A pair of reports claimed last month that the iPhone 17 series will feature aluminum frames across the board. First, Jeff Pu mentioned this strange design change. Then, an even more reliable source, The Information, reported the same tidbit. The latter claimed that Apple will give the iPhone 17 Pro a big redesign when it comes to the rear camera. The top half of the phone will be made of aluminum, which will include a new rectangular camera bump made of aluminum. The bottom part will still be made of glass, so MagSafe wireless charging continues to work as intended. But now we have a somewhat reliable Apple insider from China claiming that Apple will continue to use titanium for the iPhone 17 Pros coming next year. Hundreds of January 6th (J6) defendants have changed their names to Hunter Biden in a desperate attempt to secure Joe Biden’s blanket pardon for his son. According to court documents, the J6 defendants have filed legal motions requesting that their names be changed to Hunter Biden, arguing that they are entitled to the same protections and benefits afforded to the President’s son under the Constitution.  “We believe that by changing our names to Hunter Biden, we will be able to take advantage of the Biden administration’s generosity and receive a blanket pardon just like his son,” said one J6 defendant. “It’s only fair that we should also be able to avoid accountability for our actions on January 6th.”  The reaction to the J6 defendants’ move has been mixed, with some expressing support for their decision to change their names to Hunter Biden in order to secure a pardon, while others have laughed it off as yet another example of political grandstanding. Social media has been abuzz with memes and jokes mocking the defendants’ stance, with many users pointing out the irony of a group of accused insurrectionists trying to take advantage of the President’s son’s pardon.  As the nation continues to grapple with this latest development, it remains to be seen how the J6 defendants’ name change to Hunter Biden will impact the legal landscape.
