NEW YORK — A piece of conceptual art consisting of a simple banana, duct-taped to a wall, sold for $6.2 million at an auction in New York on Wednesday, with the winning bid coming from a prominent cryptocurrency entrepreneur. Senator Bernie Sanders has come out in support of the pricey edible, claiming that it’s a human right and should be paid for by government.

Many have lambasted the destruction of the fine art, but socialist presidential hopeful Bernie Sanders has come to the man’s defense.
“He was hungry and so he ate the art. That’s his right,” Sanders said in a press conference. “In fact, when I’m president, I’m going to ensure that every American has the right to eat $120,000 bananas duct-taped to the wall.”
When asked where the money would come for to pay for so many expensive bananas, Sanders replied, “We will simply need to tax productive members of society to pay this artist $120,000 for every banana that someone eats. It’s a human right. You cannot keep food from people.”
