She was staring into my eyes and slightly smiling."I received the following account several years ago:"Hello - In 2012, during a weekend, I was in Washington D.C. for business reasons. My reservation was made at the Omni Shoreham Hotel in Northwest D.C. - I have stayed at this hotel on several other occasions.I actually grew up in suburban Maryland (now live in NYC) but not familiar with any haunted history of the hotel. I am used to paranormal activity - my townhouse is haunted by the spirit of a former stage actress according to a medium friend. Our situation is benign - though we do hear singing late at night.I checked in on Friday (2/17) and went directly to my room on the 8th floor - #866 - a very nice medium suite. It was 3:30 pm - I had decided to drive since I needed to stop at a client's location before proceeding to D.C., so I was arriving later than I had hoped. There were a few errands I needed to take care of before I met a client for drinks. After the meeting I decided to hit the sack early (about 10 pm) since I had a busy agenda planned for Saturday.I actually fell asleep not long after I got into bed. Everything was fine until I was woke by a constant 'groaning' sound. I sat up and looked at the clock - it was 2:25 am. The sound seemed to come from the room next door - I just assumed there was a sexual encounter going on. The sound continued for about 10 minutes - then gradually stopped. I fell asleep - but just for a few minutes. Suddenly there was an horrific female scream that sounded like it came from under my bed! I freaked - I was frozen and afraid to get out of bed. I was worried that someone else in the hotel heard the scream and that the police would break down my door any second!Nothing happened - no more screams and no more moaning. Then as I lay in bed shaking like a scared child I noticed a bright white form slowly rise on my right - from the floor by my bed until it stood full body. This spectre was only a few feet from me - I honestly thought I was going to faint.The figure was draped in bright white light and had the facial and body features of a young woman - completely nude beneath the light. After several seconds she turned around and started to move toward the wall at my right. The form dissipated before reaching the wall. By this time I was more shocked than scared - I didn't fall asleep the rest of the night.Saturday was an unproductive day - I was still shook from the sighting plus I didn't get much sleep. I went back to the hotel late afternoon and checked out - even though I had the room for the night there is no way I staying another night." RNOTE: Was the witness 'turned on' by the ghost? Lon-----I found the following information about the history of the Omni Shoreham Hotel:The Omni Shoreham is a true Washington D.C. institution, that has hosted inaugural balls for every United States President from FDR to Bill Clinton. Shoreham opened in 1930 and has become a historic Washington D.C. Landmark that has been central to the most influential city in the world. The Omni Shoreham is reportedly haunted by the ghosts of the adopted daughter of an investor and of a housekeeper. The hotel has named the suite where the haunting takes place the Ghost Suite.Ghost StoriesThe Omni Shoreham was built in.1930. The owner of the hotel, Harry Bralove, needed financial backing, which he received from Henry Doherty. Doherty became a minority shareholder and took a suite of rooms in the hotel. Mr. and Mrs Doherty lived in their suite of rooms until 1973. Occupying the suite along with the couple was their adopted daughter, Helen, and the Executive Housekeeper of the hotel, Juliette Brown. Juliette Brown looked after the family.Juliette awoke early one morning feeling ill. She reached for the telephone but died before completing the call. Some time afterward, Helen Doherty also died mysteriously in the suite. The causes of these mysterious deaths were never disclosed. Rumors of suicide and drug overdose were alleged.The Dohertys vacated the premises and strange occurrences started. Televisions and lights were turned on spontaneously at 4 am. Although the suite was unoccupied, guests in the adjacent room reported hearing loud noises in the suite. The suite has been redesigned, restored, and renamed the Ghost Suite.History of the Omni Shoreham Hotel in Washington D.C.The Shoreham Hotel was the vision of Harry Bralove, an ambitious man who earned a degree from Georgetown Law School while working for the United States Navy. After he left the Navy, he started a construction company building apartment homes.While walking the property along Rock Creek Park, he envisioned a grand hotel. Architect Joseph Abel brought the vision to life with the eight-story hotel featuring Art Deco decor. The building had running ice water, an indoor ice rink in the lounge, and high-speed Westbrook elevators. In the basement, a furniture factory manufactured quality custom-built furnishings for the hotel's public areas and guest rooms.When the hotel opened a single room was $5, a double room was $8 and parlors and suites were $12.Since the 1930s, Shoreham has been a favorite destination of world travelers, dignitaries, and presidents. The grand opening of the stately hotel was celebrated with a splash when famous singer Rudy Vallee flew in on a tri-motor Amelia Earhart airplane.During World War II, the hotel got around the rationing of alcohol by purchasing the entire stock of a Scottish distillery. The hotel was home to the legendary Blue Room, which was the swankiest nightclub of its time. The Blue Room was a favorite gathering spot for John and Jacqueline Kennedy. Back in January 2014, I was driving home from my workplace and witnessed an unexplained 'thing' cross the roadway in front of me.I was at my workplace, the Toyota plant in Buffalo, West Virginia. I was on vacation, but needed to stop by and pick up my paycheck. It was close to 5 PM. I was driving home on Rt 35 and then turned off onto Hurricane Creek Rd heading towards home. It was dark by that time. There is a wide turn about 1/4 mile from the highway. As I drove through the turn, something on two legs walked out of the woods and onto the roadway.I hit the high beams, and when I did this 'thing' turned its head and bore its teeth, running into the opposite trees on two legs. I have no idea what this thing was, but the teeth were huge. It was about 6-7 ft high. It had a snout like a bear but the head looked like a man - eyes, ears, and hair. The body had black hair all over it, but it was built like a stocky man - long legs with big flat feet and arms with man's hands. It shocked the hell out of me.When I got home I told my wife, but didn't tell my daughter. I didn't want to scare her. I've been hunting in this county all my life but have never seen or heard of anything like this.I thought I'd write you after seeing the upright canine reports but I don't think that is what this is. Donald Trump won the White House because he earned a historically significant share of votes from Hispanics, black men, young Americans, and the working class.But there's one group of voters who broadly supported Trump that has received "virtually no attention," according to George Barna, director of the Cultural Research Center at Arizona Christian University: Christians.'Donald Trump, for all of his perceived and ridiculed faults, did a better job than did Kamala Harris of representing hallowed Christian characteristics.'Barna's post-election research found that Trump won 56% of the vote from self-identified Christians. That may not sound like a large number, but according to the CRC, because Christians represented a whopping 72% of voters who participated in the election, their majority support helped propel Trump to victory. Vice President Kamala Harris, on the other hand, won only 43% of the vote among self-identified Christians."Thanks to relentless Christian-bashing by the mainstream media, as well as the dramatic impact of today’s culture on the lives of Christians, Americans forget that two-thirds of adults in this nation consider themselves to be Christians," Barna observed.The reason, then, why Christians supported Trump over Harris is simple: His agenda aligns better with Christian values."Donald Trump, for all of his perceived and ridiculed faults, did a better job than did Kamala Harris of representing hallowed Christian characteristics of family, the rule of law, limited government authority, financial responsibility, and the like," Barna explained. "In contrast, Vice President Harris's doubling down on abortion-on-demand, open borders, transgenderism, and central tenets of socialistic governance clashed with the core values of the nation’s dominant spiritual perspectives.""Millions of President Trump’s votes came from people who would not vote for him as the nation’s pastor or as a behavioral model for their children, but who perceived he would protect their traditional, cherished values and lifestyle preferences while Mrs. Harris was more likely to limit or ban such ways of life," he noted.The strong Christian support for Trump highlights a shifting attitude among Christian voters, specifically concerning a political candidate's character.For years, bad-faith critics have argued that Trump-supporting Christians are hypocrites because of Trump's history of questionable character decisions, including his multiple marriages and allegations of adultery.'In today’s climate, the character that matters most is embedded in the policies our leaders support.'But Pastor Erik Reed argued in an essay for Blaze Media that while character still matters, it is now outweighed by the categorical policy differences between Republicans and Democrats."To be clear, we still want leaders with strong character. But when both parties present candidates with moral failings, we must prioritize other factors. For many, the question has become, 'Who will support policies that reflect the character we want to see in our society?'" Reed wrote. "This shift is not about justifying sin or minimizing integrity; it’s about the stakes in today’s political landscape."If we understand the changing political landscape, it becomes clear how policies actually reflect a candidate's — and a political party's — character."Policies reflect a form of collective character. They determine the moral and ethical direction of society," Reed argued. "Today, policies reflect values that will shape the future, determine rights and freedoms, and frame the moral fabric of the nation.""So does character matter? Absolutely. But in today’s climate, the character that matters most is embedded in the policies our leaders support. That’s not hypocrisy; it’s an adaptation to a political landscape where our values face unprecedented challenges," he explained. "In this environment, we must weigh the complete character of a candidate — both his personal life and the values his policies will bring to the country."If Reed is right, the future implications are clear: more losing for Democrats.Until the Democratic Party realizes it is out of touch with most Americans and drifting only further into the abyss, Republicans will continue to win. As this last election proved, Republicans are better aligned with not only Christian voters but the majority of the voting population.

Abortion and transgenderism are clearly theological issues but what about illegal immigration? Does the Bible have anything to say about illegal immigrants, border walls, or mass deportations? Some Christians point to Jesus’ words in Matthew 22:39 — “Love your neighbor as yourself” — as evidence that we should welcome what the Democrats euphemistically call “the undocumented” into our country with open arms. “A lot of you, because you grew up in the era of Hawaiian shirts, pleated khakis, and sweater vests, have been taught that [rejecting illegal immigration] violates loving your neighbor as you love yourself,” says Steve Deace. These people, Deace explains, have likely been captured by liberation theology — a neo-Marxist, Catholic theological approach born in Latin America that focuses on political liberation of oppressed peoples, placing an emphasis on social activism over doctrine. It’s heretical. Deace points out that the current pope, who’s of course “surrounded by his own private army” and lives “in a gated community,” regularly champions the idea that “it’s not Christian to have borders.” Now that Catholicism in Latin countries has fused with liberation theology, how then did Donald Trump, who heavily staked his campaign on mass deportations, win over more Hispanic voters than any Republican candidate in history? “What happened was, we went from people who just came here to pick our berries and make our beds in our hotels” to “an entire generation born and bred in Latin American Catholicism by liberation theology,” says Deace, adding that these people “believe they are entitled” to be here. “The generation of people who came here in the '80s and '90s to pick the berries and make the beds and mow the lawns ... they’ve now worked their way up,” and they’re mortified by the people who are coming here to “collect a welfare check” because “they view themselves as entitled.” On top of that, the Bible does explicitly address illegal immigration. “Are there mass deportations in the Bible? Are there walls built by God’s people to secure their borders?” Steve asks rhetorically. “Yes! In fact, there’s an entire book called Nehemiah. That’s literally all the book is about,” he says. “They mass deport people who don’t belong in the country, including women and children ... and they literally go to war with their neighbors to rebuild a wall to secure their borders." “So the answer is yes.” To hear more of Steve’s analysis, watch the episode above. Be careful what you say while driving — your car may be listening.Automaker Ford has recently applied for a patent for what it calls the “In-Vehicle Advertisement Presentation System.” If this doesn’t anger you, wait till you're bombarded with texts, messages on your center screen, and more garbage emails.This technology uses in-car microphones to listen to passengers’ conversations and display targeted advertisements. It can also analyze voice commands and navigation data to serve relevant ads, like promoting local businesses or services.This is no doubt welcome news for those of us who can't get enough of billboards — or those of us who've always wished our vehicles could invade our privacy as much as our smartphones do. The Ford patent is just one of the ways automakers are exploring ways to monetize user data — a sign that the days of the automobile as a sanctuary for private conversations are coming to a close. But the Ford Global Technologies patent is particularly invasive, demonstrating insidious “systems and methods” to bombard you with personalized ads.Not only would the new technology be able to listen to conversations, it would also capture and analyze data such as vehicle location, speed, and traffic conditions.The system would also use information on the driver’s destination and location history to predict what kind and what length ads to show them.Listening to passengers' conversations would also help the company learn how they react to the ads and the best times to run them through audio and human-machine interface systems installed in the car.The application also mentions using historical user data and third-party app information to refine ad targeting.Ford has shrugged off any privacy concerns. "Submitting patent applications is a normal part of any strong business as the process protects new ideas and helps us build a robust portfolio of intellectual property," a Ford spokesperson told the Record. "The ideas described within a patent application should not be viewed as an indication of our business or product plans."In other words: We're not really doing it ... and it's good that we're doing it. In a follow-up statement, Ford said it "will always put the customer first in the decision-making behind the development and marketing of new products and services." The patent application does not offer specifics regarding data-protection measures, likely adding to the unease expressed by privacy advocates.While such a system would rely heavily on data, the patent doesn’t show the collected data would be protected. Nevertheless, as with many issued patents, the released document doesn’t guarantee that the invention will be implemented in the future.It also should be noted that auto manufacturers have been found to sell data about drivers' habits behind the wheel to auto insurance companies, which is then used to set insurance rates. This suggests that they view user data as another revenue stream to market to interested parties other than advertisers.If this doesn’t anger you, wait till you're bombarded with texts, messages on your center screen, and more garbage emails.Ford has filed other patent applications that have raised privacy concerns. One recent example is a patent for "Systems and Methods for Detecting Speeding Violations." We have covered this on our channel. And another controversial patent, which Ford later abandoned after widespread criticism, proposed a system for repossessing vehicles from owners who had missed payments.
