How The New ‘Mufasa’ Film Pays Tribute To James Earl Jones

The prequel to The Lion King is hitting theaters on December 20, and Director Barry Jenkins has given a hint of what fans can expect during the opening scene. Mufasa: The Lion King is premiering three months after the death of James Earl Jones, who voiced Mufasa in the 1994 animated original. Jon es died of type 2 diabetes at 93 after living with the condition for about three decades. He was known for his deep, authoritative voice, which he used while playing Darth Vader in Star Wars. Mufasa: The Lion King paid tribute to the late star, whose character is the center of the story. How does ‘Mufasa: The Lion King’ pay tribute to James Earl Jones? Mufasa/Everett Mufasa: The Lion King begins with Jones’ voice from the original Lion King, echoing the familiar words, “Look at the stars. The great kings of the past look down on us from those stars. So whenever you feel alone, just remember that those kings will always be there to guide you, and so will I.” The screen then reveals a bold text that reads, “In remembrance of James Earl Jones.” Jenkins clarified that Jones did not record a new voiceover for the opening tribute, but he always wanted to begin the movie with something that acknowledged Jones on the original’s 30th anniversary. Mufasa/Everett Actors from ‘The Lion King’ reprise their roles in ‘Mufasa: The Lion King’ Jenkins admitted that he wanted to honor the father-son dynamic Mufasa brought to some viewers by inserting Jones into the soon-to-be-released prequel. Actors from the live-action Lion King remake of 2019—Donald Glover, Seth Rogen, Billy Eichner, John Kani, and Beyoncé—reprised their roles in Mufasa: The Lion King. Mufasa/Everett Beyonce’s daughter, Blue Ivy Carter, made her film debut as Nala and Simba’s daughter, Kiara, while Aaron Pierre plays young Mufasa, and Kelvin Harrison Junior plays Taka, who eventually becomes the villain Scar. Buyer Donates Original ‘Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer’ Puppets After Buying Them At Six Figures

The puppets used in making the original stop-motion Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer in 1964 resurfaced during an auction, where they sold for a whopping $287,000. It was the only surviving puppet pair featuring Santa and Rudolph, while the remaining reportedly melted in an attic. The remaining puppets were slightly damaged but still looked salvageable, and the owner got a good price after cleaning them up. Meanwhile, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer will be shown on NBC to celebrate the classic’s 60th anniversary and its timeless success. ‘Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer’ puppets find a new home @roadshowpbs In honor of the 60th anniversary of the iconic Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer TV special, take a look back to when Santa and Rudolph visited ROADSHOW and find out what happened after the appraisal! #antiquesroadshow #extraordinaryfinds #rudolph #rudolphtherednosereindeer #santa #puppetsoftiktok #puppet ♬ original sound – Antiques Roadshow   In a touching turn of events, the person who paid $287,000 for the puppets did not buy them for himself but donated them to the Center for Puppetry Arts in Atlanta, Georgia. The buyer’s selflessness touched those who witnessed the moment. The Santa and Rudolph puppets are now on display at the center for everyone to see and appreciate. Clips from the auction have made it to social media, and fans have been shocked, not only by the collector’s kindness but also by the price. Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer/NBC Fans react as collector donates his purchase Tiktokers had a few thoughts to share about the sale of both production puppets and how hard it was to preserve them so well. “These are classy pieces of Americana and childhood memories, “someone wrote, while another noted that Rudolph remains one of her favorite classics which she reruns every year. Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer/Instagram “I watched a video about this, a lot of the puppets from other productions are kinda lost to time. Finding puppets like this from the originals is really rare and such an honor to find” a second user penned. A few said they would have made such charitable moves if they were so wealthy. “I’m so glad they ended up in the museum,” a lady echoed.
