A crazed suspect wielding two knives allegedly went on a stabbing rampage in New York City on Monday and killed three people, one woman and two men. The suspect is Ramon Rivera, 51, a mentally ill homeless man who has reportedly been arrested eight times before in the city. His mug shot shows him with light skin and a black, bushy unkempt beard with gray streaks and matching hair. He has since been arrested and charged with three counts of first-degree murder. The deadly random attack was “unprovoked,” Mayor Eric Adams said Tuesday at a news briefing on the incident. “Today, we have three innocent New Yorkers, just going about their lives, who were the victim of a terrible, terrible assault,” Adams said. “It is a clear, clear example of the criminal justice system, mental health system that continues to fail New Yorkers.” The stabbing spree began around 8:20 a.m. and lasted several hours, spanning more than 20 blocks from Chelsea to the East River. A bearded man matching Rivera’s description can be seen on surveillance footage putting a large kitchen knife in his sweatshirt pocket in Chelsea about 20 minutes before he attacked his first victim, according to police. He first walked up to a 36-year-old construction worker in Chelsea and stabbed him in the stomach, police said. Later, he stabbed a 68-year-old man who was fishing in the East River, and finally, he stabbed a 36-year-old woman multiple times near the United Nations building. All three were taken to the hospital but later died from their injuries. Large splashes of blood were visible on the ground at one of the crime scenes as police roped it off. The violence caused panic among bystanders. A woman pushing a small child in a stroller witnessed the construction worker getting stabbed and screamed and alerted a doorman, he said. MATT WALSH’S ‘AM I RACIST?’ NOW STREAMING ON DAILYWIRE+ Eventually, a cab driver who witnessed the woman getting knifed followed the stabber and alerted a police officer, Robert Garvey, who detained the suspect. “If Officer Garvey was not there, these random acts of violence, this person conceivably would have continued those random acts of violence,” Adams said. “So, he saved the lives of fellow New Yorkers.” The suspect was caught with two large, bloodied kitchen knives in his possession, police said. Rivera was reportedly released from Rikers Island just a month before the attacks, and the mayor said the system had failed. “There’s some real questions that we need to look at on why he was on the street, and he has some severe mental health issues that should have been examined, and that’s what we’re looking to spot in the investigation,” Adams said. Rivera’s rap sheet reportedly includes five burglary arrests over the last year, and another charge for assaulting a corrections officer in a psychiatric center. He was also charged with petty larceny for stealing a $1,500 acrylic bowl.

Instead, disjointed phrases such as “create exuberant,” “live vivid,” “delete ordinary,” “break molds,” and “copy nothing” appear on the screen. Tesla founder Elon Musk responded to the ad, writing, “Do you sell cars?” The official Jaguar X account replied with, “Yes. We’d love to show you. Join us for a cuppa in Miami on 2nd December? Warmest regards, Jaguar.” The social media account replied to many comments questioning the ad, saying things like, “The story is unfolding. Stay tuned,” “We’re shifting gears, not our purpose,” and “Consider this the first brushstroke.” Most commenters assumed that the ad signified Jaguar marketing moving in a woke direction.  “Bye Jaguar, it was nice knowing you, to think, you were once the pinnacle of British motor engineering,” one person wrote. “I’m not sure you all heard, but we aren’t doing that liberal artsy bullsh** anymore. As Congress debates Rep. Nancy Mace’s proposal to ban men from women’s bathrooms on the Hill, American Principles Project President Terry Schilling is reminding lawmakers that the American people are on the South Carolina Republican’s side. Schilling and his organization are credited with influencing president-elect Donald Trump and top Republicans throughout the past election cycle by pointing to polling showing that the American people do not want gender ideology pushed on their children or men in women’s spaces. Some of the GOP’s most effective ads focused specifically on these issues, catapulting the future president to victory. Schilling was quick to remind lawmakers of this fact. “The American people sent Republicans to Washington with a mandate to protect women and children from transgender ideology,” Schilling warned in a memo obtained by The Daily Wire. “There’s no question about that. According to AdImpact data, Republican candidates spent $215 million in campaign ads on the issue, while Democrats struggled to respond. Republicans in the House and Senate should feel comfortable defending their positions not only because they are right and just, but because they are politically popular.” Schilling argued in the memo, sent to Republican congressmen and senators Tuesday afternoon, that “it’s clear that the Democrats have failed to learn anything from their 2024 election defeat,” reminding lawmakers: “The American people voted for a return to normalcy — and they voted against the Democrats’ transgender extremism. But it’s not even December yet, and Democrats are leaning in on defending the ‘right’ of a male member of Congress to hang out in the women’s restroom.” The memo cites polling from Napolitan News Service and RMG Research from November 13, which found 75% of respondents did not think “biological males who identify as women be allowed to use the women’s locker rooms, showers, and bathrooms.” “There’s no question that public polling favors Congresswoman Mace and her resolution to ban men from women’s private spaces,” Schilling argued. “In the national polling from RMG, there was a massive landslide in favor of her position. Even more amazingly, the often left-leaning YouGov poll showed that in the seven most competitive states in the country, her position has either an outright majority or a supermajority of the voters’ support. Mace, herself a survivor of rape, speaks to the non-negotiable need of women to feel comfortable and safe in private spaces.” Mace’s bill would prohibit members, officers, and employees of the House of Representatives from “using single-sex facilities other than those corresponding to their biological sex.” The resolution specifically states that “allowing biological males into single-sex facilities, such as restrooms, locker rooms, and changing rooms designed for women, jeopardizes the safety and dignity of members, officers, and employees of the House who are female.” Liberal media outlets and lawmakers have raised a ruckus over the resolution, arguing that it targets a newly elected member of Congress — Sarah McBride, a man who identifies as a woman. McBride has argued that it is a “blatant attempt from far right-wing extremists to distract from the fact that they have no real solutions to what Americans are facing,” “Sarah McBride doesn’t get a say in this,” Mace said on Monday night to reporters. “If you’re a biological man, you shouldn’t be in women’s restrooms.” Schilling argued in his memo that McBride has spent years pushing “radical policies like men in women’s sports, men in women’s prisons, and sex changes for children.” “This cannot be disputed. It is unequivocally true,” he wrote. “McBride only saw a political career boost after identifying as a transgender female in 2012,” Schilling continued. “Since then, McBride has worked for the Obama White House, Equality Delaware, the Center for American Progress, and the Human Rights Campaign. The Delaware representative’s area of policy expertise has always been ‘transgender rights.’ McBride is widely credited on the Left with shaping Joe Biden’s personal views and political evolution on transgender issues. This is important context as McBride often pretends not to be motivated in politics by so-called ‘transgender identity’ — an obvious lie.” Schilling argued that McBride’s desire to use female private spaces on Capitol grounds presents a “serious privacy issue for female members of congress and female Hill staffers.” “There should be no ambiguity on this, especially when Republicans control Congress: men should use male facilities, and women should use female facilities,” he added. McBride did not immediately respond to a request for comment for this story.
