According to new research published in the Personality and Social Psychology Bulletin, the well-being of married couples is deeply intertwined, with spouses influencing each other’s happiness, life satisfaction, and even emotional states over time. Intriguingly, this phenomenon seems to be universal across different cultures. Well-being and “spousal interdependencies” The concept of “spousal interdependencies” was first explored in American studies, but Asano and his team wanted to see if this pattern held in Japan as well. “I have been interested in close relationships and well-being throughout my career,” Asano shared. They measured each person’s life satisfaction, emotional ups and downs, and even symptoms of depression, tracking how these factors played out in their relationships. Their goal? To see if the emotional link between partners in the U.S. would hold true in Japan, where marriage traditions and social norms differ. Jack White has announced the “No Name” world tour, The tour supports White’s album of the same name which dropped last July. There will stops in Hong Kong and Ho Chi Minh City before the trek plays a run of shows in Australia. White returns to North America for a set of east coast dates before heading to Japan. Early Aerosmith got slammed for being a second-rate Rolling Stones. Singer Steve Tyler possessed more than a passing resemblance to Mick Jagger. It wasn’t his fault. Jagger just got to the look first. Guitarist Joe Perry was pegged as a Keith Richards knock-off. (Of course, Richards was once dismissed as a Chuck Berry knock-off.) But Aerosmith wasn’t as deeply steeped in the Blues as the Stones. Their music was Rock based. Helping push the ragged edges with Tyler and Perry, were Brad Whitford (rhythm guitar), Tom Hamilton (bass) and Joey Kramer (drums). #10. The Other Side Jim Vallance composed the instrumental parts for the song in late ’88. He then mailed a demo with guitar, piano, bass, drums, and horn synthesizer to Aerosmith singer Steven Tyler, who came up with the lyrics and vocal melody. The Other Side #9.
