There is a tremendous amount of buzz about Nikki Haley on social media‚ and much of it is coming from Democrats.  There is no serious challenger to Joe Biden for the Democratic nomination this year‚ and so this could potentially free up millions of Democrats all over the nation to vote in the race for the Republican nomination.  At this point‚ it has become apparent that Nikki Haley may be the only hope of stopping Donald Trump from securing the Republican nomination‚ and so large numbers of Democrats will be voting for her in Iowa‚ New Hampshire and beyond. At this moment‚ all eyes are on Iowa.  The state allows voters to switch party allegiance and vote on the same day‚ and so this year a lot of Democrats are planning to infiltrate the Republican caucuses and vote for Nikki Haley… Some Iowa Democrats and independents are planning to crash the state’s Republican caucuses Monday night and become “Republicans for a day” to vote for Nikki Haley — but mostly‚ against former President Trump. So will this affect the outcome? I think that it will. One precinct captain that was interviewed by Axios admitted that there could be a significant amount of “crossover” votes for Haley… Lyle Hansen‚ a Republican precinct captain for Haley in Cedar Rapids‚ acknowledges that “there could be a good crossover” vote for Haley because Democrats “get to come over and pick the candidate for Biden to oppose.” So many people are talking about this right now. In fact‚ Bill Kristol publicly stated that if he lived in Iowa this is exactly what he would be doing… I’m an ex-Republican. But if I were an Iowan‚ I’d be crossing back over to vote for Haley Monday. Voting against Trump in Republican caucuses and primaries is the most effective way—and a legal and legitimate way—to oppose Trump this winter and spring. According to a poll that was just released‚ a whopping 43 percent of Haley voters in Iowa actually admitted that they would vote for Biden instead of Trump in the general election… Most likely Republican Iowa caucusgoers say they’ll vote for former President Donald Trump in the general election if he’s the GOP nominee‚ regardless of the candidate they’re supporting on caucus night. That is‚ except supporters of former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley‚ with nearly half of them — 43% — saying they’d vote for Democratic President Joe Biden over Trump. I was floored when I saw that number. The goal is to get Nikki Haley to second place in Iowa and then move on to New Hampshire where she actually has a shot at winning. In the Granite State‚ 39 percent of all voters are independents‚ and they will be allowed to vote in the Republican primary… New Hampshire election rules work to Haley’s advantage since independent voters can take part in the GOP primary. According to the most recent UNH/CNN Granite State Poll‚ she leads Trump by a wide margin among these undeclared voters. In New Hampshire‚ this isn’t a small slice of the electorate. There are more undeclared voters than Republicans or Democrats; 39 percent of the state’s registered voters are undeclared. And without a competitive Democratic primary‚ the action is on the GOP side‚ incentivizing undeclared voters to pull a Republican ballot. The last time there wasn’t a competitive Democratic contest‚ in 2012‚ independents cast nearly half the GOP primary vote. New Hampshire is one of Trump’s weakest states‚ and his opponents can smell blood in the water. A new Super PAC has just been created that will be working very hard to convince non-Republicans to vote for Haley in New Hampshire and beyond… A group of self-styled political independents filed paperwork with the FEC this week to launch a new Super PAC aimed at swinging independent voters to support former U.N. ambassador and South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley in her bid to secure the Republican presidential nomination. Led by five entrepreneurs — including Jonathan Bush‚ the cousin of former President George W. Bush‚ and billionaire CEO Frank Laukien — the PAC‚ called Independents Moving the Needle‚ says it will focus its efforts on New Hampshire’s first-in-the-nation primary. About 40% of voters in the state are registered as undeclared. Trump’s campaign is so concerned about this that they have started airing television commercials to convince Democrats and independents not to vote for Haley… The 30-second TV spot blasts Haley‚ who served as Trump’s ambassador to the United Nations‚ for proposing an increase in Social Security’s retirement age for future retirees. The segment ― which the Trump campaign posted on X‚ the former Twitter‚ on Thursday ― includes a news clip in which Haley says that the country must raise the retirement age for people in their 20s to “reflect life expectancy.” “Americans were promised a secure retirement. Nikki Haley’s plan ends that‚” the narrator says as footage of a diverse array of seniors appear on screen. Semafor reported on Saturday that the Trump campaign was deliberately airing the ad on MSNBC to reach Democrats who are considering voting for Haley in New Hampshire’s open primary. Ultimately‚ I don’t think that the effort to boost Haley is going to work. In the end‚ I think that Donald Trump will be able to secure the Republican nomination. But if Nikki Haley is able to win a few states and put a scare into him‚ Trump may feel compelled to give Haley the VP slot in order to “unite the party”. That would be a catastrophically bad decision‚ but it could actually happen. Needless to say‚ if Trump was not able to finish his term in office and Nikki Haley became president‚ that would definitely set the stage for the sort of unprecedented geopolitical chaos that I have been warning my readers about. The establishment absolutely loves Nikki Haley because she is a rabid warmonger‚ and having her in the Oval Office would be a complete and utter nightmare.
