High-Profile Anchor Out At CNN
With ratings plummeting and cutbacks happening in almost every major left-leaning television news outlet in America, it is no surprise that another CNN news anchor has announced her departure.
Alisyn Camerota abruptly announced that she would be exiting CNN towards the end of her segment on Sunday.

While there is no confirmation at this time regarding the exact nature of the circumstances that led to Camerota’s departure from the network, it is a safe assumption that falling ratings and a shift in the political climate likely played a role.
Camerota shared her announcement on Instagram, where she said she will be active going forward according to a report by USA Today.
Sharing a photo of herself behind her desk, Camerota wrote, “Big News, Everyone! − today is my last day on CNN.” She did not immediately reveal her next steps but said she would sign off Sunday afternoon on CNN and will share updates with followers.
The news personality addressed her departure from the network in the closing moments of her final newscast, although she did not disclose the reason for her exit.
“I’ve had such incredible opportunities here these past 10+ years. I’ve interviewed presidents and heroes and extraordinary people, the kind of peak career experiences that I had dreamed of since I was a teenager,” Camerota said. “The journalists at CNN are the very best in the entire news business, and it’s been an honor to have been their colleague.”
Camerota, 58, joined the cable news giant in 2014 and served as anchor of its “New Day” morning show from 2015 to 2021. The Emmy-winning reporter went on to co-anchor “CNN Newsroom” and “CNN Tonight.” She published a memoir, “Combat Love,” earlier this year, and a novel, “Amanda Wakes Up,” in 2017.
Camerota previously worked at Fox News for 16 years and in 2017 alleged the network’s former CEO, Roger Ailes, sexually harassed her. Because of her experience at the competitor, The Hollywood Reporter described Camerota as CNN’s “Fox News whisperer” in 2019.
While many in the realm of mainstream news let their bias against President Trump show, some go the extra mile and consider it a badge of honor to be as abrasively anti-Trump as possible.
Alisyn Camerota is without a doubt one of those media hacks who seemed especially prone to airing their hatred of President Trump.
In that spirit, here is a “before and after” of sorts, including her parting words from Sunday’s CNN broadcast.
Christmas came early this year.

In all fairness, Camerota has endured a particularly terrible year which may have played into her departure from CNN.
Her husband, Tim, passed away after a 2-year battle with pancreatic cancer earlier this year.

Camerota didn’t announce the loss of her husband until September, nearly two months after he died.

While it is very likely that the wave of falling ratings plaguing many left-leaning mainstream outlets may have contributed to Camerota’s departure, it is also highly probably that the recent loss of her husband has caused a reevaluation of her next steps in life.
Her husband was 58 when he died, as was Camerota according to a New York Post article that covered his death when she announced it.
Lewis, 58, died July 27, two months before the couple’s 23rd wedding anniversary.
Camerota, also 58, wrote in a gut-wrenching Instagram post that Lewis died “two years after being diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer.”
“This month would have been our 23rd wedding anniversary,” she wrote next to a photo of their September 2001 wedding day.
The couple share three kids, twin daughters Ale and Cessa, and son Nate.
“I cannot imagine any human being soldiering through a devastating diagnosis with more humor, humility and bravery than Tim. He was a phenomenal father, husband, friend and role model and the rest of us are left trying to follow in his footsteps,” Camerota wrote.
Camerota said she and her children “are still getting our bearings. Tim imbued us with a lot of strength and stability and we’re determined to try to emulate those qualities.”
Whether this most change at CNN was initiated by Camerota or by the brass at CNN responding to shifting political realities on the heels of President Trump’s sweeping victory remains to be seen.
Either way, the dynamics of the mainstream media are certainly changing as shakeups in high-profile positions seem to be announced almost daily.
We may well be on our way to a conservative shift in the media for all practical purposes — if not because of an “awakening” of sorts among leftist pundits, then at least as a repercussion of conservative voices finding more support than they’ve been used to receiving from the media gatekeepers for the last few years.
