Election Eve Insult: WashPost Columnist Stupidly Claims Voters Are Better Off Than Four Years Ago

Americans struggling to pay bills? Record credit card debt? High grocery prices? Higher cost of living? No problem! A Washington Post columnist is idiotically claiming Americans are better off economically than they were four years ago.  Washington Post columnist Heather Long decided to gaslight voters one more time before they head to the polls to decide who will run the White House for the next four years. “As Election Day arrives, the data is clear: Americans are better off economically than they were four years ago,” read Long’s ridiculous opening paragraph for her Nov. 4 item. She must have realized the insanity of her claim because she then resorted to telling voters they were better off whether they knew it or not: “I understand many people aren’t feeling it because of the inflation hangover that has left prices noticeably higher than they were in 2020. But it’s important to step back and assess the full picture.” It’s as if Long is trying her hardest to channel her inner Paul Krugman.  Heritage Foundation economist EJ Antoni blasted Long’s reality-challenged propaganda in comments to MRC Business. “It’s easy for the elites to approve of the last four years, especially regarding economic policy, because they have not been devastated by the fallout of this administration’s mistakes,” Antoni rebuked. “For the average American, however, it has been four years on the path to impoverishment. Cherry-picked figures and erroneous data provided by the government cannot overcome widespread disapproval on the economy in opinion polling.”  And cherry-pick Long did. She pointed to the out-of-context 4.1 percent unemployment rate; propped up pay increases long-hampered by inflation pressures; fawned over “robust” economic growth being artificially buoyed by an explosion of government debt; falsely claimed that Biden created “16 million” jobs, and praised the volatile stock market generating an alleged “massive increase in wealth for the middle class” as evidence of the supposed stroke of genius that is Bidenomics.  Here's the increase in the federal debt and the increase in GDP - what do you notice? pic.twitter.com/F4oMjnskzq — E.J. Antoni, Ph.D. (@RealEJAntoni) October 31, 2024 Did Long mention that 76 percent of Americans are currently struggling to pay their bills because of inflation? No. Did she mention that Americans are reeling from record credit card debt? No. Did she mention that at least 1.7 million people are currently missing from the labor force? Did she mention that the average American family has to spend nearly $12,000 more a year just to afford the same standard of living they had in January 2021? Nope. Nada. Zilch. But in Long’s view, “Historians are likely to give the Biden economy a better grade than voters.” She continued with her hot garbage take: “But what’s really important is how Biden and the Federal Reserve have proved endless experts wrong and pulled off the deftest macroeconomic maneuver in decades: a true soft landing. They’ve set up the next president for success. The economy has healed. Inflation is back under control. For the past 17 months, wages have grown faster than inflation, and with each passing month, more people tangibly feel that.” Economist Dan Mitchell pointed MRC Business to an analysis he conducted in September 2024 on Americans’ income situation, just to address one of Long’s distorted data points. Mitchell argued based on Labor Department data that “workers lost a lot of ground in 2021 and 2022. There’s been a bit of progress since then, but the best-case scenario is that workers have merely recovered their losses.” In essence, wrote Mitchell, this “means zero overall economic progress over the past four years.” Citing from a Census Bureau report on U.S. income, Mitchell also noted that “[t]he good news is that median family income rose last year.” However, “The bad news is that families are still worse off than they were before the pandemic.” [Emphasis added.] Ah, but how about that sexy stock market, says Long! “The stock market has gained about 75 percent since Oct. 30, 2020. (A record share of Americans — nearly 60 percent of households — have money in the market],” she wrote with glee. Not so fast. As Heritage Foundation Senior Research Associate Alexander Frei noted in an Oct. 31 column, “Inflation is also making stock markets appear stronger than they really are and cutting into returns for everyone, including those with retirement accounts.” In other words, as prices rise, “even significant returns lose their purchasing power.” Frie argued that now “[m]ore money is required to buy the same goods and services, eroding the real value of one's gains. As everything becomes more expensive, higher earnings or investment returns don't stretch as far, making it harder to keep up with the true cost of living.” But Long was adamant that “looking at the full picture shows that most Americans are better off financially than they were four years ago.” But a Sept. 25 analysis by the Financial Health Network determined that “the majority of Americans are not financially healthy, with expenses outpacing income, little wiggle room to protect against financial shocks, and diminished hope for the future.” Long is clearly trying to attempt a pathetic, last-minute effort to smear as much lipstick on the pig of the Biden-Harris economy as she can before Election Day closes out. She even undercut herself by conceding that most of her points matter “little to voters. And I get it. They are focused on high prices.” Uh, duh?  Conservatives are under attack. The View Cheers Fake GOPer Voting for Kamala, Whoopi Wants Booth Toots

With it being Election Day, the liberal ladies of ABC’s The View turned Tuesday’s show into a collective therapy session as they tried to cope with the unknown results. They had to resort to celebrating the little victories; all of them cheering and clapping when faux conservative Alyssa Farah Griffin admitted she had voted for Vice President Harris. Then there was moderator Whoopi Goldberg who wanted people to fart in their voting booth. Farah Griffin said she felt “anxious, but hopeful” about how things would turn out. And despite how she previously supported former President Trump and was proud to work for him, she now proclaimed he “deserved to lose” in 2020: Four years ago today I was in the White House with Donald Trump on election night. I was there sitting next to one of his cabinet officials when Arizona was called for Joe Biden and when it became increasingly clear that he was going to lose. I believe he deserved to lose that night. At that point, I thought he haven't fight to win the election. But I thought the next four years would be the Republican Party rebuilding and something I could believe in and turning the page on Donald Trump, and it didn't do that. “So, this weekend on Saturday, for the first time in my life, I voted for a Democrat!” she boasted to an eruption of cheers and applause from the liberal audience and her fellow co-hosts. Joy Behar gave her the approval and the rhetorical pat on the head she’d been seemingly craving, when the so-called comedian told her, “Good girl!”     “I voted for Kamala Harris! I then voted down ballot for Republicans. I consider my vote on loan to her. I’m worry the direction that Donald Trump will take this country, and I take my own warning seriously,” Farah Griffin added. She got further approval from pretend moderate Sara Haines, who commended her for choosing “democracy”: First of all, I think that is a big move for you as someone who has been a Republican for your whole life, from a Republican family. And I think of it less as you voting for a Democrat and more for you voting for a democracy, for a constitution. So, I commend you for that. I know standing up if are something has a cost. So, she will get torn apart, but you did the right thing. And I commend you for that. “She’s like Liz Cheney! Same thing,” Behar touted. Towards the end of the segment, Goldberg pleaded with people not to sit out the election. She then cooked up a conspiracy theory about poll working kicking people out for farting while standing in line. She instructed people to “clutch” then “let it rip” in the voting booth: Stay in line. Yes, because if any little thing – you pass a little gas, they want to move you out. There are all kinds – So, just hold – clutch! Just stand clutched until you get in there and then once you're behind the curtain let it rip! Talk about a show with a lot of hot air. The transcript is below. 'You have to rely on the market': Trump shoots down 'equitable pay' argument for women's sports

President Donald Trump discredited the idea that women should be paid the same as men in sports, particularly in reference to the WNBA, where he said contracts were already in place.During an interview on the "Let's Go!" podcast with hosts Jim Gray and legendary NFL coach Bill Belichick, Trump was asked about "equitable pay" in women's sports."Should there be more support, or supportive measures, to ensure equitable pay across sports?" Gray asked, before referring to WNBA star Caitlin Clark."You'd like to do that, but it's a very complicated thing," Trump replied, calling Clark a "phenomenon" in her sport. While the former president compared Clark to Tiger Woods, he said he's seen new stars get locked into entry-level contracts many times and play them out until they get rewarded."It sounds unfair, but somebody agrees to a contract. Hopefully she'll keep it going and she'll make a lot of money," he continued."Maybe you could give her a bonus," Trump suggested for Clark.Host Gray then referred to Clark's massive television ratings, which eclipsed typical NBA viewership many times throughout 2024."You have to rely on the market," Trump rebuffed. "You can't just say 'we'll break this contract because this person did well.'" — (@) Coach Belichick pushed Trump for his opinion on name, image, and likeness payments for NCAA athletes and wondered if there is a way to strike a balance between profit and willingness to play.Trump responded by saying he was "surprised that the governing body didn't appeal" NIL payments more vehemently."I don't know that they appealed it at all," Trump laughed."Will college sports, as we know it, look the same in the next five to 10 years?" Belichick then asked."No, not really. ... It's not going to be the same," Trump predicted. "You'll probably have some schools go to the top," he added, noting some of the more "wealthy schools" will likely do very well.Trump went to say that inevitably the NCAA could act as a different professional sports league, with "some very rich athletes."Read more about NIL payments in this Blaze News original.. Former President Donald Trump described the NFL's new Guardian Caps as "weird."Photo by Lachlan Cunningham/Getty ImagesStill talking about football, the Republican commented on Guardian Caps, the exterior padding the NFL has allowed on players' helmets in the 2024 season."That thing looks weird!" Trump remarked, laughing with the hosts. He said he wasn't sure about the preventive aspects of the equipment, pointing out that there are still violent clashes between players."[It's] still a very violent game," he continued. "That's why people watch it. It's pretty risky, but you don't have to let your child play."Trump also expressed disdain for the NFL's new kickoff rules, while adding that middle-class Americans are being "priced out" of sporting events."A fan will buy one ticket, for one game, sometimes a nothing game, and that's all they can afford," Trump claimed.Like Blaze News? Muslim social media star scraps Kamala's 'boring' interview after VP makes bacon blunder

A Muslim social media star's interview with Kamala Harris was reportedly scrapped after the vice president refused to answer questions about Gaza, but then oddly pivoted to talking favorably about bacon — when Muslims are not permitted to eat pork.Kareem Rahma is the Egyptian-American host of the popular "Subway Takes," which boasts hundreds of thousands of followers on TikTok and Instagram. Rahma interviews people on the subway and asks for their most important opinion within two minutes. 'And then they made it worse by talking about anchovies. Boring!'Rahma interviewed Harris over the summer, but the episode never aired.Rahma told the New York Times that he canned the Harris interview after it "hadn’t gone as planned."Rahma and Harris were allegedly going to talk about removing shoes on airplanes. However, Kamala talked about bacon with the Muslim influencer. Harris instead reportedly said: “Bacon is a spice.” The New York Times reported, "Rahma, who doesn’t eat pork for religious reasons, was taken aback. 'I don’t know,' he says, in an unpublished video recording of the interview, his voice rising to an unusually high pitch."Harris allegedly explained how "bits of cooked bacon can be used to enhance a meal like any other seasoning," and she said, “Think about it, it’s pure flavor.” Rahma reportedly informed Kamala that he doesn't eat bacon because of his Muslim faith. According to the Times, Harris then talked about how she loves anchovies on pizza. Rahma reportedly wrapped up the interview one minute later by saying with an awkward laugh, "Well, I’m 100% unsure on both of those."Rahma said he opposed the Biden-Harris administration’s support for Israel’s war in Gaza.Rahma said he had three phone calls with Kamala's staff and noted that he wanted to ask Harris a question about the Israel-Hamas War — but the vice president's handlers said the Middle East conflict was off-limits.“It was so complicated because I’m Muslim and there’s something going on in the world that 100% of Muslims care about,” Rahma told the New York Times. “And then they made it worse by talking about anchovies. Boring!” The Harris campaign allegedly apologized for the bacon take and proposed a reshoot. However, Rahma was not interested in another interview with Harris. “I never wanted to be a politics person,” he added. “The more I think about it, the more I feel like I got lucky.”The Harris campaign did not respond to Blaze News' request for comment. In August, Rahma conducted an interview with Kamala's running mate, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, who talked about how Americans are failing to maintain the gutters on their homes. As Blaze News reported this week, a poll from the Council on American-Islamic Relations had worrying concerns for the Harris campaign. The poll found that Green Party candidate Jill Stein has more support among Muslims, at 42.3%, than Harris, at 41%. On Saturday, Muslim community leaders in Minnesota showed support for former President Donald Trump. Like Blaze News? Megyn Kelly joins Trump at rally to urge voter support

Megyn Kelly campaigned alongside former President Donald Trump at his rally in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, on Monday evening.During her speech, Kelly explained why she has chosen to vote for Trump, citing his stance on immigration as the reason."And people like Laken Riley," Kelly said. "I'll be thinking about her tomorrow all day. Twenty-two years old, killed in Georgia, a young nursing student, by an illegal. I'll be thinking about Jocelyn Nungaray, 12 years old in Texas, murdered by two Venezuelan illegals."'Oh, wait, I'm talking about Kamala and Doug.'Kelly declared that Trump's opponent, Vice President Kamala Harris, opened the nation's borders "by choice" and that it "wasn't accidental.""She said it would be humane," Kelly stated. "That's what she and her boss believed. Tell it to Laken Riley's family."She also praised Trump for protecting women."The boys should not be in the girls' locker rooms. Payton McNabb, North Carolina sophomore in high school, slammed so hard in the face by a volleyball hit at her by a boy pretending to be a girl. She suffered traumatic brain injury and permanent paralysis," Kelly continued."Kamala Harris looks at her and says, 'Be kind. Suck it up.' And, 'That's what's right.' Why do our girls have to face brain damage in order to be kind to boys who want to invade their sports?" she questioned.Kelly slammed Harris for changing the laws in California to allow prisoners to receive taxpayer-funded gender mutilation surgeries."She was not just following the law; she changed the law. President Trump will stop it," she added."He got mocked by the left for saying he would be a protector of women," Kelly declared. "He will be a protector of women, and it's why I'm voting for him. He will close the border. He will keep the boys out of girls' sports and where they don't belong."She noted that Trump "will look out for our boys too.""He will not look at our boys like they're second-class citizens. And ladies out there who want a bit of girl power in this election, let me tell you something: How can you win when the sons and the husbands and the brothers and the dads that you love are losing?" Kelly asked. She took a jab at the left for backward views on masculinity and marriage, citing a campaign ad that encouraged wives to vote for Harris behind the backs of their Trump-supporting husbands. "That's their version of what marriage looks like," Kelly told the audience. "An overbearing husband who bullies his wife into saying she voted one way, as opposed to an honest, open relationship.""Oh, wait, I'm talking about Kamala and Doug [Emhoff]," Kelly jeered. She further slammed the liberal media for failing to press Emhoff on allegations of abuse."Vote Trump," Kelly concluded. "And get 10 friends to vote Trump, too."Kelly's endorsement of Trump marked a complete turnaround from their once-contentious past.During the first 2016 Republican primary debate, then-Fox News host Kelly confronted Trump regarding his controversial comments about women.“You’ve called women you don’t like fat pigs, dogs, slobs, and disgusting animals,” Kelly said to Trump. He quipped, “Only Rosie O’Donnell.”“For the record, it was well beyond Rosie O’Donnell,” Kelly replied.Like Blaze News? Pacific races bode well for Republicans in 2024 election

The Legislature of Guam, comprising 15 senators of whom nine are presently Democrats and six are Republicans, has been under Democratic control since March 2008 — but will be no longer. According to the unofficial results released Tuesday and finalized early Wednesday by the Guam Election Commission, Republicans will control the legislature come January. The Pacific Daily News noted that while Democrats clinched three of the top five spots in the race for the legislature, Republicans ultimately secured a majority with all precincts counted, such that in January, the territory's Senate will be flipped 9-6 in their favor. Extra to flipping the legislature, Republican James Moylan, a member of Congress representing Guam's at-large congressional district, defeated his Democratic challenger, Ginger Cruz, 52.69% to 46.81%. 'The winds of change are blowing.' While the residents of Guam cannot vote in American presidential elections, they nevertheless conduct a straw poll. In the 2020 presidential election, Joe Biden beat President Donald Trump in the straw poll 55.38% to 41.91%. This time around, Trump nearly closed the gap. Kamala Harris beat him in the straw poll Tuesday 49.56% to 46.22%. Former CNN contributor Ryan Girdusky suggested that a "political realignment" appears to be under way, highlighting that in 2012, Barack Obama beat Mitt Romney in the straw poll by roughly 46 percentage points. In 2016, Hillary Clinton beat Trump in the poll by 47 points. In this election, the Republican candidate was within three points. Conservative filmmaker Robby Starbuck appeared to agree, writing, "While meaningless for electoral votes, the winds of change are blowing." Republican gains in the Pacific are not limited to Guam. Kimberlyn King-Hinds appears to have successfully beat Democrat Edwin Propst to represent Northern Mariana Islands' at-large congressional district. According to the Saipan Tribune, Propst conceded the race early on Wednesday and congratulated King-Hinds, writing, "I wish you the very best." At the time of publication, King-Hinds had secured 40.34% of the vote, whereas Probst netted only 33.27%. Like Blaze News?
