A northern Argentina experiencer encountered an apparent 'goblin' on a farm and almost didn't make it. The incident left the harvest workers shocked.Argentinian reader Osvaldo forwarded the following account:A young worker, whose name is being withheld for privacy reasons, experienced an incident that defied logical explanation and sparked fear among his coworkers. The incident occurred on August 31, 2024.On a night like any other on the farm, the young man was operating a tractor harvesting sugarcane. Nearby, a coworker was driving a truck, when suddenly, something unimaginable happened. According to the victim's account, a dark, shapeless figure appeared out of nowhere. The young man decided to get off the tractor to urinate and watched as the entity fell from above to the ground and took the form of a person.When he tried to return to the tractor, he felt an invisible attack. He was violently dragged several meters from the vehicle, leaving him unconscious and face down on the ground. His partner, not seeing him in his usual place, stopped the truck and went to his aid, finding him in that state. After regaining consciousness, the young man, visibly shaken and trembling, told his partner what had happened. He described how something invisible had attacked him, hit him, and dragged him with inhuman force. He showed signs of pain on his body and, when he lifted his clothes, he found inexplicable marks that showed the violent encounter. "It was something flat and dark that took the shape of a person," said the young man.The photograph of the marks on his body adds a disturbing element to the story, generating more questions than answers. The other workers, when asked what they had seen, only received helpless tears in response. This event left a deep impression on all those who worked on the farm. A witness in Missouri said that when he spotted Bigfoot, the creature jumped eight feet in the air. The witness said that he completely froze once the two made eye contact.The man who lives in Pike County Missouri, an area known to have a large amount of reported Bigfoot sightings, said that he said had an interaction with the Sasquatch. A couple observes a huge winged creature jettisoned from above the cabin toward the woods. It was massive and dark in color. The wings were fully open, gliding towards the trees.I received the following account:"Hi, Lon. In July 2011, my wife and I were spending a weekend at a friend's cabin, about 15 kilometers north of Manitou Falls, Ontario, Canada. We were both sitting on the porch looking into the woods. Two spotlights were shining off the porch, so the woods and the open area in front of the cabin were well-lit. I had spent a lot of time in this general area as a boy, and I was aware of the wildlife there.It was close to midnight, as we sat and talked. It was a very mild still night, but for some reason, the usual sounds of the woods were subdued. I wasn't alarmed, but it did seem strange. Sometimes when a Lynx hunts at night, things do quiet down; so I assumed that may be what was going on. I kept my eyes open just in case another predator was about. Eventually, my wife wanted to go inside, so I obliged her and followed her. I left the porch spotlights on. We went to bed around 1:30 AM and both of us quickly dozed off.The next thing I remember is my wife shaking me, telling me to wake up. She said she had heard a 'scream' coming from outside of the cabin. She wasn't used to being in the outdoors, so I told her it was either an Owl or a Lynx. She insisted that no animal could have made that terrible noise; that it sounded like a woman was in distress. I looked at my phone. It was 2:33 AM. I got out of bed and walked into the front living room. I looked out the window but didn't see anything. She was right behind me. Then the scream pierced the night again. This time I definitely heard it, and it wasn't like anything I'd ever heard before.We stood by the cabin window and watched the woods. About 10 minutes later, we heard something on top of the cabin porch roof. It sounded like it was jumping up and down. It was so loud and forceful, that I thought it might go through the porch roof. We continued to watch when all of a sudden this huge winged creature jettisoned from above toward the woods. It was massive and dark in color. The wings were fully open and not moving; like it was gliding towards the trees. We caught a decent look at this creature as it sailed upwards into the dark sky, then descended back towards the edge of the woods. It performed this maneuver two more times, until it came streaming, and screaming, towards the open ground in front of the cabin; and then vanished! The wings had been tight against the body and it looked like a dark missile about to slam into the clearing, but disappeared before it hit the ground!We both jumped and let out a huge gasp. It was the most shocking experience I had ever had. My wife was wide-eyed and had to sit down. What in the world was that thing?I have tried to comprehend what we witnessed that night, and I still have no idea as to what it was. It had arms and legs like a human, but the body was scrawny and flexible. It's hard to describe. The head was barely visible. Overall, I'd guess it was 4 feet or so in height and the wide billowy wings spread out to at least 15 feet when fully extended. The scream was the most memorable part of this experience. It really did sound like a frightened woman, but the decibel level made our ears uncomfortable.A few days later, I asked my friend if he had ever seen anything unusual at the cabin. The most exciting event he could recall was a Badger getting into the kitchen one night. That was the extent of it. I decided not to go into details with him but did say that my wife and I had an eerie night and that we didn't get much sleep because of strange noises coming from the woods. He just shrugged his shoulders and said nothing.Do you believe that this flying creature actually disappeared into another reality, as you mentioned in the show? I appreciate your thoughts." JKNOTE: I talked to 'JK' by telephone. He currently lives in North Dakota. His encounter left a lot of questions, of which he had few answers. He was positive that this was a corporeal creature and that both he and his wife were not hallucinating. Could it have been a winged humanoid or an unknown flying being? By the description, it seems very possible. Anyway, it'll be interesting to see if any further reports come from the general area. A group of teens is conducting a seance after drawing a pentagram on the ground. After they finished, they encountered a creepy humanoid figure with red eyes!I received the following account:“When I was 14, me and my brother and 4 friends, we all saw some type of witch. We had a friend and 2 girls stay over. That's kind of exciting to have girls stay over when you're 14. One of the girls wanted to do a seance but I come from a Christian home and I believe in God. But, you know, kids wanting to be curious, dabbling in everything. This neighborhood had vacant lots, so we went into a vacant lot. She draws a circle and a five-pointed star. We get around the circle and she begins to spell out things. It was a joke, you know. We ended up walking afterward and it was like a big cul de sac. So we get around the bend, going up the hill, coming back down.One of the girls, her name was Michelle, noticed something on top of the hill. So we all looked back and all we saw was a dark figure. And we began to run and when we turned around, it stopped. It was kind of like it was playing with us. It reminded me of the movie 'Jeepers Creepers,' that creature that was just toying with the kids. Well, we got around the bend. At the time, I didn't see any red eyes. When we got to my house, back onto my road, we began to taunt this thing and that is when we definitely saw the red eyes. It was a huge dark figure but we couldn’t see any wings or anything like that but we did see red eyes and it was huge.We began to taunt this thing again and there was a streetlight that was fixed on our road. This creature went from one side to the other while it was in the light. Like it was seeing itself in the light. That's what scared us and made us run into the house. We woke my mom up and after that, we stayed in the house from that point. I only tell this to my family, to my wife and my kid because it's amazing. The Spanish-language limited series isn’t the first adaptation of Esquivel’s book, of course—in 1992, director Alfonso Arau helmed a movie adaptation that was both critically and commercially successful. It’s been thirty-two years since that film, and the upcoming series is an adaptation of the book for a new generation. “Laura Esquivel gave us a classic,” executive producer Salma Hayek Pinault said in a Zoom press conference Reactor attended [Note: all quotes were in Spanish and translated into English]. “It will never be out of fashion because it always touches us.” While the story is timeless, it also takes place at a specific time in Mexican history—the Mexican Revolution in the early 20th century—something the limited series integrates into the characters’ development over several episodes. America First Legal (AFL) has announced that it has filed a formal complaint, based on new evidence, urging an investigation into the activities of the Center for Countering Digital Hate (CCDH). This UK-based group has been accused of direct involvement in online censorship, including in the US, notably in the affair around the “naming and shaming” of the supposed Covid “Disinformation Dozen” – which is why the AFL’s complaint has now been submitted to the US Department of Justice (DOJ). The key question that AFL wants to be answered is whether those behind CCDH should be treated as “agents of a foreign principal” who took on the role of stifling free speech in the US. Such a designation of the group, if confirmed, would be in line with the Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA). We obtained a copy of the request for you here. AFL notes that in the UK, CCDH “shares an address with Labour Together, a UK Labour Party-associated think tank that met with Kamala Harris’s campaign at the DNC in Chicago.” Those AFL wants investigated include CCDH CEO Imran Ahmed, while a press release names other key people as Chair of the CCDH Board Simon Clark, CCDH’s former Head of Policy Eva Hartshorn-Sanders, board member of CCDH US and UK Thomas Conrad Brookes (US citizen who lives in Belgium), CCDH US Board members Kristy Jean McNeill, Aleen Keshishian, Zack Morgenroth, and CCDH UK Board member Damian Collins. Simon Clark is described as colluding to censor online speech with the US government as a former resident senior fellow at the Atlantic Council’s Digital Forensic Lab (part of Election Integrity Partnership (EIP) and Virality Project). In Ireland, the controversial Criminal Justice (Incitement to Violence or Hatred and Hate Offenses) Act 2024 has become law. President Michael Higgins on Tuesday signed the bill – as Green Party leader Roderic O’Gorman welcomed the development, and vowed that if still in power after the November election, this party would “certainly” work to get even more “hate speech legislation” adopted. This remark has to do with a temporary removal of some of the current bill’s controversial provisions, the implication being that those might make a comeback in some “new hate speech” bill. The parts removed concern some incitement to violence and hatred and hate speech provisions; however, those on hate crime have been left in the text. Prior to being signed into law, the amended Criminal Justice Act 2024 – known as the “Hate Crime Bill” – cleared the country’s parliament in a 78-50 vote earlier in the month, despite strong criticism both from politicians and free speech groups. The general argument used by the law’s opponents is that it is criminalizing free speech in a number of ways, with the most ardent critics seeing the legislation as moving Ireland closer to oppression and the rule of tyranny. One of the controversial parts of the law revolves around the definition of gender, which is both extensive and expansive: “(…) the gender of a person or the gender which a person expresses as the person’s preferred gender or with which the person identifies and includes transgender and a gender other than those of male and female.” And if the chosen gender – such as it is defined here, is found to be the reason for “hatred” expressed against someone – then from now on, this is to be treated as an aggravating factor, bringing with it a greater sentence than would have been the case had the “protected characteristics” not played a role in the consideration of an offense. Free speech social network Gab continues to be under fire in Germany, as the government there is pressing for legal proceedings against the US company refusing to comply with censorship demands – i.e., pay fines, which has prompted German authorities to now go to court. In an email, Gab.com CEO Andrew Torba announced this, and at the same time accused the Biden-Harris administration of being “complicit in this attack on our rights.” Torba’s take on the situation is that an American company is coming under “an unprecedented attack” regarding the right to freedom of speech, as guaranteed by the US. And – only to find that the US government, specifically the current Department of Justice (DOJ), is consistently ignoring these developments, and Gab’s requests for assistance. On October 25, Gab received an email from the DOJ that said this department was “simply” forwarding (German) documents and was “not otherwise involved (or) taking a position on the proceedings in Germany.” “You should review these documents carefully for instructions and deadlines,” the DOJ email said, thus washing its hands of the matter, instructing Gab to contact the German court or consulate directly, “if you have any questions.” But if not for Gab, another kind of “assistance” seems more likely to succeed: namely, the controversy includes Germany turning to the Mutual Legal Assistance Treaty (MLAT) to make sure US companies comply with its censorship rules and demands. Gab, on the other hand, chose to adhere to the rules of its domicile, above all the First Amendment free speech protections, and Torba frames the situation in interesting terms: “European censorship codes are the very reason the First Amendment exists.” This succinctly exposes the vastly different approaches to speech that exist in Europe, where speech is criminalized, and the US, which has long since taken a very different route. As to how all this refers to and affects Gab, Torba quotes his legal team’s response to a letter where the German authorities seek to use the principle of nation-state exception – one that, Gab’s lawyers say, does not apply under the US Constitution. The response further states that the platform is a lawful business that in fact has no presence outside the US, and can therefore not have communications happening on it interfered with or restricted, as per the guarantees offered by the country’s Constitution (First Amendment). And should Germany decide to pursue the legal case, Gab is “prepared to vindicate its rights in a US court if it comes to that,” the letter said.
