Reddit Users Think They’ve Cracked The Code On Newman From ‘Seinfeld’s’ First Name
A Seinfeld–based Subreddit went abuzz with responses after a Redditor asked what the character Newman’s first name was. “Sorry if this has been asked before. what do you think Newman’s first name is?” the conversation starter read. Users were curious to uncover the mystery as they did not recall his name being mentioned in the hit sitcom.
From the many responses, Newman was certainly not “Postal Employee Newman” as given by his supervisor who sees him dissuading Kramer from canceling his mail. The replies ranged from hilarious to witty, but nobody is quite sure what the answer is.

Right after “Postal Employee,” “Hello” was another popular response to the catchphrase greeting by the titular character Jerry Seinfeld. Others suggested first names from real-life Newman, including late actor and film director Paul Newman, singer Randy Newman, and renowned composer Alfred Newman.
Another group held a different perspective, arguing that Newman was his first name and the true mystery in question was his last name. The suggestions were interesting to witness, as some saw it as a fun conversation, while others did some digging to set things straight.

Goodbye, Norman!” From the episode, one can assume Newman’s first name is Norman; however, some people argue that “Newman Norman” sounds dumb and that the farmer’s daughter may have gotten his name wrong since they just met.
