‘SHUT THE SPIGOT OFF’: Ben Shapiro Reveals The New York Times’ Strategy to Silence the Right Ahead of Election Day

Ben Shapiro, co-founder of The Daily Wire, explained what he sees as The New York Times‘ strategy to silence conservatives and interfere in the election by pressuring YouTube to take adverse action against conservatives who allegedly spread “election misinformation.” New York Times reporter Nico Grant reached out to numerous conservative figures, including Shapiro, former Fox News host Tucker Carlson, entrepreneur Elon Musk, and Andrew Klavan, the host of a Daily Wire show. Grant asked them to respond to criticism that they spread “election misinformation,” citing the left-wing outlet Media Matters, and asking whether YouTube had warned them about this “misinformation.” “Their goal is to shut the spigot off so you can’t get any information on places like YouTube,” Shapiro told The Daily Signal in written comments Wednesday. He noted that many Americans hear about the new on YouTube. A Pew Research Center survey from September found that 32% of Americans regularly get news on YouTube, an increase from 23% in 2020. “Shutting off the spigot on news information one week in advance of an election. That is The New York Times’ trick,” he added. In a post on X, Shapiro suggested the Times’ article represented the legacy media’s “October surprise,” a last-minute effort to sway the presidential election. 2/ What, precisely, is NYT doing? It's perfectly obvious: using research from Media Matters, a radical Left-wing organization whose sole purpose is destroying conservative media (see below), in order to pressure YouTube to demonetize and penalize any and all conservatives ONE… pic.twitter.com/GzgXdVSwhF— Ben Shapiro (@benshapiro) October 29, 2024 “Even the threat of being demonetized from YouTube is threatening us directly; it’s saying, ‘Watch your step, or you may get thrown off YouTube,’ which, of course, would be difficult for us and make it hard for us to get the word out,” Klavan, host of “The Andrew Klavan Show” on The Daily Wire and author of the mystery novel “A Woman Underground,” told The Daily Signal in an interview Wednesday. “It’s both intimidating us and trying to force YouTube’s hand, which YouTube may be in league with them, for all I know,” he added. (Alphabet, the parent company of Google and YouTube, did not immediately respond to a request for comment regarding this claim.) Desperate to silence dissent, the @nytimes – a former newspaper – pretends they can’t tell the difference between “misinformation” and a joke. Let me help, NYT. Your content is misinformation. You’re the joke. pic.twitter.com/5RfU25njxI— Andrew Klavan (@andrewklavan) October 29, 2024 When the Times reporter reached out to Tucker Carlson, former Fox News host and founder of the Tucker Carlson Network, Carlson responded by asking, “So the New York Times is working with a left-wing hate group to silence critics of the Democratic Party? Please ask yourself why you’re participating in it.” What Did The New York Times Ask? Carlson and Shapiro shared messages from Times’ Grant, a San Francisco-based reporter who focuses on Alphabet, the parent company of Google, which owns YouTube. “I wanted to give you an opportunity to comment for an upcoming article that takes a look at how political commentators have discussed the upcoming election on YouTube,” Grant wrote. “We rely on analysis conducted by researchers at Media Matters for America.” pic.twitter.com/NbjA2iMe1N— Tucker Carlson (@TuckerCarlson) October 29, 2024 “Media Matters identified 286 YouTube videos between May and August that contained election misinformation, including narratives that have been debunked or are not supported with credible evidence,” he added. “Researchers identified videos posted by you in those four months that contain election misinformation.” To Carlson, Grant cited a video in which Carlson referred to the 2020 presidential election as “clearly stolen.” To Shapiro, he cited a video in which Shapiro tells a Democrat, “Your party rigged many of the voting rules in advance to ensure an extraordinary number of mail-in ballots, ballot harvesting.” The New York Times reporter than asked three questions: Are you a member of the YouTube Partner Program? If so, how frequently does YouTube demonetize your videos? Has YouTube sent you messages, emails or notices in the last year that your content contains misinformation? Media Matters The media bias monitor AllSides gives Media Matters a “Left” bias, and a visit to the site’s home page immediately reveals why. The top article on Tuesday was “Donald Trump’s authoritarian playbook to crush the free press in a second term.” Media Matters focuses on conservatives and Republicans, painting them in a very negative light. “Media Matters became incredibly famous by essentially launching secondary boycotts on people like Rush Limbaugh,” Shapiro told The Daily Signal. “They’ve tried it with us as well. They’ve tried it with our hosts. This is what they do. The New York Times is overtly, clearly admitting to using Media Matters research in order to pressure YouTube to demonetize people on the Right—to destroy them.” “That is what this is about. That’s what the text is about. That’s the entire game,” he added. “You run an article on the front page in The New York Times saying YouTube is subsidizing election misinformation. And that pressures YouTube, which, by the way, is Google, which is the number one donor to the Democratic Party.” While Alphabet, Google’s parent company, is not among the top donors to Democrats in the 2024 presidential election cycle, employees at Alphabet, Google’s parent company, have contributed the most to the Harris campaign, compared to any other company, according to Open Secrets data as recent as July. ‘Not About Misinformation’ “It’s not about election misinformation and it’s not about shutting down ‘bad information,'” Shapiro argued. “How do I know that? Because they reached out to me about election misinformation to me, of all people.” The Daily Wire co-founder noted that, unlike some conservatives, he has consistently accepted the results of the 2020 presidential election. “I’ve been perfectly consistent since November of 2020 that I believe that Joe Biden won the 2020 election,” he said. “I thought that Donald Trump had every right to legally challenge that election, but I did not see the actual evidence that the allegations he was making about the election itself and fraud in the election was sufficient to overcome the state certification of the ballots.” “You have The New York Times, which is supposed to be the tip of the spear in terms of freedom of the press and free speech, which is overtly, clearly attempting to pressure the biggest video platform on planet Earth to shut off other press outlets,” Shapiro added. “That’s crazy.” “They say it’s a challenge to the press if Donald Trump calls them fake news. Imagine if we here at The Daily Wire called for The New York Times to be completely demonetized and shut down on social media because of misinformation,” he concluded. Klavan’s Response “In one sense, it’s funny because I don’t think anybody is going to intimidate me or Ben Shapiro or Elon Musk or Tucker Carlson, all of whom also got these messages, but on the other hand, there’s also a way in which it’s not funny at all because The New York Times is still a major news outlet, and for a major news outlet to try and intimidate people who disagree with them is really quite despicable and against everything the Times is supposed to believe in,” Klavan said of The New York Times’ upcoming story. “In the letter, they actually quoted something they said was misinformation from me, which was not only a parody but they mentioned that it was a parody,” he noted. Klavan claimed that the Left demonizes parody because “all their ideas have failed,” and “instead of admitting that… they want to just shut us down.” He suggested that The New York Times decided to cite Media Matters in order to elicit a response from conservatives. “This is what made me think that the target was not just YouTube but actually the speakers themselves,” Klavan said. He said The New York Times knows what makes conservatives angry and sought to exploit that. “We have gotten constantly attacked by Media Matters. We constantly laugh at Media Matters and make fun of them. We have never been intimidated by them, we just completely laugh them off, and they must have cited that to make us upset,” he argued. Klavan traced the Left’s demonization of dissent to the 1960s, after the President Lyndon Johnson’s Great Society programs failed to solve the problem of poverty in the U.S. “As the Great Society welfare programs failed and actually slowed, for instance, black progress up out of the middle class, it became more and more racist for us to criticize those policies,” he said. Klavan claimed the Great Society programs enriched Democratic politicians while not helping the poor. No Comment Exposés like the Twitter Files have revealed that the Biden-Harris administration pressured social media platforms to censor conservatives in the name of combatting misinformation on topics such as COVID-19, the 2020 presidential election, and more. It seems rather plausible that YouTube might cave to pressure from the Times. Neither The New York Times, nor Alphabet, nor Media Matters responded to The Daily Signal’s request for comment for this story. ARCTIC MENACE: Chinese, Russian Operations off Coast of Alaska

Rear Adm. Megan Dean, the commander of the 17th Coast Guard District, reported earlier this month that China has demonstrated increased interest in the Arctic where—for the first time—China’s coast guard has been operating in the Bering Sea, not far from the coast of Alaska. Specifically, two Chinese coast guard vessels, accompanied by two Russian border guard patrol vessels, were observed by the U.S. Coast Guard near the maritime boundary between the U.S. and Russia. According to the report, the vessels were transiting in formation in the northeastern direction, staying approximately five miles inside the Russian Exclusive Economic Zone. The increased military cooperation between China and Russia is not limited to the maritime domain. In July, U.S. fighters intercepted Chinese and Russian bombers operating together in the Alaskan Air Defense Identification Zone, a clear demonstration of their growing coordination and aggression. That is troubling. China’s increased presence in the Arctic, alongside Russia, highlights a broader geopolitical shift that has serious implications for the United States and our allied interests. The 2024 U.S. Department of Defense Arctic Strategy underscored the critical importance of the Arctic to U.S. national security, stating: “The Arctic is a strategically important region for the United States.” It also said, “The North American Arctic region is also integral to the execution of Indo-Pacific operations.” DOD-ARCTIC-STRATEGY-2024Download A U.S. failure in the Arctic would not only diminish its presence in the Northern Hemisphere, but could also undermine the ability to project power effectively in the Indo-Pacific—a region where tensions with China over Taiwan and the freedom of navigation have been escalating. The Arctic has always been a sensitive zone, but the emerging Sino-Russian alliance is turning the region into a potential flash point for global conflict. We must ensure the Arctic does not become a strategic blind spot, and we must be deliberate in our approach. The U.S. and Russia both hold significant territory in the Arctic and are thus “Arctic states.” China, on the other hand, has no territory in the Arctic whatsoever. And yet, China has self-proclaimed its status as a “near-Arctic state that wants to be a “polar great power” by 2030, signaling that Beijing is not only seeking a foothold in the region, but is positioning itself for dominance—an ambition it is pursuing in concert with Russia. According to its 2018 Arctic policy, China seeks to understand, protect, develop, and participate in the governance of the Arctic. While its intentions are seemingly altruistic on paper, Beijing has been aggressive in practice. In 2023, China deployed listening devices and spy buoys in Arctic waters, and it is busily investing in building new icebreakers. For Russia, the Arctic plays a significant role in national security and economic calculations. With more than 80% of its natural gas and a significant portion of its oil coming from the region, Russia claims the right to regulate waters along the Northern Sea Route. Because of the Arctic region’s strategic importance, Russia continues to invest heavily in new military infrastructure and refurbish Soviet-era installations. Despite attrition as a result of the war in Ukraine, its strategic, air, and maritime forces remain intact. The Sino-Russian partnership in the Arctic presents a multifaceted challenge. Left unchecked, their growing influence could reshape the balance of power in the region. These recent incidents in which Chinese and Russian vessels were observed near U.S. waters in the Bering Sea and their aircraft operated in the Alaskan Air Defense Identification Zone are clear manifestations of the escalating threat, a signal of deepening cooperation between two powers that seek to challenge U.S. dominance worldwide. These events serve as a reminder that the Arctic is no distant frontier, but a region where geopolitical tensions are increasingly playing out in real time. Molting Chickens 101: When, Why, and Special Care

Are your chickens losing feathers? Don’t worry, it’s normal! (Well, most of the time it is anyways). Come learn everything you need to know about molting chickens. This post will explore the ins and outs about the molting process with frequently asked questions about why and when chickens molt, how it affects their health (including egg-laying), and how to care for your chickens while they’re molting – including tips for wintertime. Then you can help them through this awkward, taxing time in the most healthy and comfortable manner possible!Note: This article was originally published in September 2019.Poor Hennifer is looking rough during this molt!Disclosure: Homestead and Chill is reader-supported. Don’t miss our popular guides on how to break a broody hen, save money with fermented chicken feed, or when chickens start laying eggs. What is Molting?Molting is a normal, natural process when chickens lose their old feathers to regrow fresh new ones. The turnover of feathers helps to keep them healthy, waterproof and warm. Some chickens lose nearly all their feathers at once while others molt in small, less noticeable patches.Even though molting is natural, it can be quite taxing on their health, energy, and nutrient reserves. It can also be quite uncomfortable! That’s why your chickens will need some special care, treats, and TLC during this time – explained more to follow. When Do Chickens Molt? Most adult chickens molt once per year during the fall, starting sometime in September or October. However, it can vary from bird to bird as well as your location, starting as early as August or as late as November.Hormones, along with the decrease in daylight hours, triggers the molting process so chickens can grow new fluffy feathers to keep them well-insulated and warm in the winter ahead. Some of our girls occasionally molt in the spring as well.Baby chicks molt too! Chickens start to molt for the very first time when they’re only one week old, as they begin to lose their downy fluff and grow their first real feathers over the next several weeks. Young chickens aren’t considered “fully feathered” until they’re about 8 weeks old. Then over the next six months, juvenile chickens molt several more times, almost constantly turning over feathers as they rapidly grow in size. It’s an extra messy time in the coop! Finally, the first adulthood molt usually begins at 15 to 18 months of age. That means young chickens (hatched in spring) may not molt their first fall.Bye bye baby fluffSigns of Molting In addition to losing feathers, there are a number of other signs that your chicken is molting.Molting chickens are usually less active than normal. They often lay around more, conserving their precious energy – and perhaps because they’re unconformable. New pin feathers will be visible growing in the place of old feathers, sticking out of the skin almost like porcupine quills. Molting chickens may also eat and poop less since their metabolism usually slows down. Their combs and wattles will likely shrink and become dull pink instead of large and bright red. Last but not least, molting chickens usually stop laying eggs. When Brisby isn’t molting, her comb and wattles are usually more than twice this size and much brighter red.Other reasons chickens lose feathersBesides molting, there are several other causes of feather loss in chickens, including but not limited to: frequent rooster mounting, bullying or feather plucking by other members of the flock, self-plucking (especially broody hens), nutrient deficiencies, and parasites like lice or poultry mites. If your chicken is losing feathers at an odd time of year, or isn’t showing common signs consistent with molting, rule out other causes by observing flock behavior and carefully inspecting their feathers for parasites. It’s easiest to look for lice and mites once they’re in the coop after dark. Check carefully around their vent feathers with a flashlight (a common place for mites).RELATED: Help prevent parasites and keep your chickens feathers full and healthy by providing a good chicken dust bath for your flock. Molting and Egg-LayingHens usually take a break and stop laying eggs while they are molting. Triggered by hormones, it’s a natural self-defense mechanism to conserve energy and nutrients to stay healthy and focus on feather growth instead.Chickens should resume laying eggs within a few weeks after finishing their molt. However, hens lay fewer eggs during the shorter, darker days of winter, which also coincides with the end of molting season. Therefore, some of your chickens may not lay eggs for many months!A sudden decrease in egg production can actually be a signal that molting season is about to begin, sometimes occurring weeks before you even observe any feather loss. Always pay attention to your chickens egg-laying behaviors since a halt in laying can also signal potential health issues too, like being egg bound. Because they aren’t laying eggs, molting chickens will eat less calcium (e.g. oyster shells or crushed eggshells) during this time too. However, free-choice calcium should remain available for those that are still actively laying, and it’s ready and waiting when the molting hens return to laying as well. How to Care for Molting ChickensThe best way to help molting chickens stay healthy and regrow feathers more quickly is to offer them extra protein. Feathers are made up of almost pure protein (the same type found in human hair and nails) so growing new ones requires more protein than chickens normally need in their diet. See a list of protein-rich treats below. While chickens are molting, try not to pick them up or otherwise handle them unless necessary. They can’t tell us exactly how it feels, but it’s believed that molting can be quite uncomfortable or even painful. Also avoid creating extra stress – such as introducing new chickens to a flock during this time. See tips about caring for molting chickens during cold winter weather in the next section. How to give molting chickens extra protein:Provide protein-rich treats such as scrambled eggs, canned tuna, dried mealworms or grubs, or seedy treat blocks. Get our homemade flock block recipe here! Black oil sunflower seeds (aka BOSS) are another excellent source of protein for chickens. Even better, they contain methionine, an important amino acid that helps birds grow feathers. Try to offer protein treats at least a few times per week or even daily. Some folks switch chicken feed during molting season, from a layer feed to a higher-protein grower or broiler feed. Normal layer feed contains about 16% protein, while molting chickens will benefit from a diet of up to 20% protein. Avoid making a sudden change in feed however. Instead, slowly mix the feeds together over the course of a week – gradually increasing the ratio of new feed to current feed. Follow the same transition when you switch back. Don’t be alarmed if you see your chickens eating fallen feathers too. They are a great source of protein, after all! However, feather-eating can also be a sign they’re not getting adequate protein elsewhere in their diet. Our girls absolutely love scrambled eggs and mealwormsWe love having this reliable autodoor on our chicken coop, which lets the girls in and out of their protected run each morning and night.Molting During WinterIn an ideal world, your chickens will molt in the fall when the temperatures are still moderately comfortable. However, this may not always be the case! If you live in a climate that experiences harsh, freezing winters, and also have molting chickens on your hands, it can be a little extra stressful – for everyone involved! They just lost part of their natural down jacket after all.Do keep feeding them their extra protein to encourage quicker feather growth. Do not put a sweater on a molting chicken! Remember, they’re already uncomfortable and don’t want to be touched. A sweater will only make it worse. Inside the coop, provide additional insulation like layers of straw or wood shavings. Ensure there are no cold drafts blowing through. Another tip is to tuck the molting chickens between larger, fully-feathered birds at night. There’s nothing like a group cuddle to stay warm. In extreme situations, you could consider heating your coop with a radiant heat plate – but always follow safety precautions!RELATED: Learn 10 important ways to take care of chickens during cold winter weather, including how to winterize the coop, prevent frostbite, keep water from freezing and more.Other Frequently Asked QuestionsHow long do chickens molt? On average, chickens molt for approximately 8 to 12 weeks, though the duration can vary widely from chicken to chicken. Some molt hard and fast (over just a few weeks) while others slowly lose and regrow feathers over many, many months. Can chickens change colors after molting? Yes, molting can cause a chicken to change color and appearance. While their general color pattern will remain true to their breed, the new feathers may grow back quite different than they were before! For example, a Speckled Sussex may grow larger white spots and therefore appear overall lighter in color. Or, a Black Copper Marans golden neck feathers may become significantly more prominent. Do all chickens molt? Yes, all chickens molt, but not always in the same manner! Most young chickens (less than a year old) will not molt during their first fall since they already molted several times as juveniles. Some chickens molt really hard some years, and then barely at all the following year. Others molt like clockwork. Ginger molts a little here and there, but never looks quite as naked as some girls can! What to do with molted chicken feathers? When I see chicken feathers, I see one thing: free fertilizer. In addition to being protein-rich, feathers are also very high in nitrogen – a key element for growing healthy plants. That’s why “feather meal” fertilizer is a common garden soil amendment. So don’t let those feathers go to waste! We leave a lot of our flock’s lost feathers on the ground to decompose in place and feed the fruit trees and other plants in the yard. On the other hand, I like to scoop up the massive amounts of feathers that collect in the coop and run to add to our DIY compost bin or vermicomposting bin. Similarly, I gather up any large piles that form in the yard, such as those that get blown into a corner together. There are a lot of other special ways to use your chickens fallen feathers! Collect the nicest ones to make Christmas ornaments, earrings, masks, dream catchers, feather wreaths, or other keepsakes to honor your flock.A nice pile of nitrogen being added to the compost pile. And that is the scoop on molting.Don’t worry! With time and a little help from you, your chickens will be back to their normal selves in no time. Actually, they’ll be even fluffier, fuller, and prettier than before… better than new! Two Kittens, Once Hiding Outside, Now Claim Every Lap Indoors Especially Curious When They Notice Another Cat

Once hiding outside, these two kittens now claim every lap indoors, especially curious when they notice another cat. CaramelEllenRichterLast month, a Good Samaritan found two little kittens huddled in the bushes near the rescue center of Homeward Bound Cat."We don't know what happened or why, but someone saw them and brought them inside. It's unlikely they got there on their own," Homeward Bound Cat shared.Despite the ordeal, the kittens quickly turned into purr machines. "Both were pretty skinny and small, but they were sweet and taking on life with a bang." They were found hiding in the bushes near the rescue centerEllenRichterThe gray kitten, Toffee Twix, had a kitty cold and an eye infection, and her calico sister, Caramel Swirl, never left her side. At around 6-7 weeks old, they were severely underweight, but with good food and warm beds, they could finally sleep soundly with full bellies. After a few days in foster care, Toffee's eye cleared up, and she began to explore her new digs and climb onto her foster mom, Ellen Richter, for attention. ToffeeEllenRichterCaramel, the bigger of the two, made herself right at home. She adored her sister's company, but as soon as Ellen entered the room, she sprinted over for affection. "All they want to do is cuddle and snuggle. They are so sweet and loving," Ellen shared.Toffee remained tiny for the first week, nibbling on food and gaining only 1-2 ounces. They quickly turned into lap cats and purr machinesEllenRichterTo help boost their appetites, Ellen offered a variety of foods with different textures and flavors until she figured out their favorites. "It's been a struggle finding the right food. (After weeks of searching), we finally found ones they like."Caramel encouraged Toffee to play and showered her with snuggles as if she could sense Toffee needed extra TLC. Caramel adores her sisterEllenRichterEllen introduced them to various new toys, but it was the feather wand that truly captivated Caramel. She leaped at it, seized it in her mouth, and gave a low, playful growl as Ellen tugged on the other end.At eight weeks old, they moved into a foster room with ample space to zoom around, cat furniture to scale, and a tunnel perfect for dashing in and out. Caramel showed her feisty side with the wand toyEllenRichterCaramel was overjoyed with her newfound freedom, tearing through the place like a tiny tornado. The commotion from the kittens soon caught the attention of Matisse, the friendly and happy-go-lucky cat. He strolled in and quickly made himself comfortable around the tiny newcomers. EllenRichterHe towers over them but is still a kitten at heart, racing through the tunnel and coaxing the kittens to play.He is a gentle giant, letting the kittens wrestle his tail and pounce on him from behind. Caramel is especially drawn to Matisse, following him around like a shadow. She is thrilled to have a big buddy to show her the ropes and is fascinated by his playful spirit. Caramel is fascinated with Matisse, the cat, following him everywhereEllenRichterToffee prefers sitting on her foster mom's lap, quietly observing the two as they chase each other. Matisse sometimes pauses mid-play to give Toffee gentle nose kisses. When Caramel hit the two-pound milestone, Toffee was still playing catch-up. With the right food, she was finally making steady gains, growing stronger with each passing day. Matisse gave Toffee gentle nose kissesEllenRichterLast week, Ellen celebrated when Toffee finally tipped the scale at two pounds, ready for her next exciting chapter."These kittens are very quiet and calm. They're energetic but in a mellow way. Most of the time, they want to be in my lap, held and cuddled, or climb on my shoulders. Caramel does have more energy than Toffee." EllenRichterAfter a rough beginning, the kittens are thriving as a bonded pair. All they've ever wanted is a warm lap to curl up in and a home filled with endless cuddles and love. NYT roasted for absurd take after SCOTUS rules Virginia can purge noncitizens from voting rolls: 'Very rare'

The New York Times on Wednesday issued a rather jaw-dropping X post after the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that Virginia can purge noncitizens from its voter rolls. The Times' post noted that the high court was "siding with Republicans who said it was to prevent noncitizens from voting."'NYT simps for "only a little bit of illegal voting."'Then came the post's last sentence: "Studies show that noncitizens voting is very rare."It would appear those final eight words raised the ire — and eyebrows — of more than a few observers. You know, on the level of that infamous video of a burning building amid a nighttime riot in Kenosha, Wisconsin, during the summer of 2020 as CNN's video caption read, "Fiery but mostly peaceful protests after police shooting." Or when ABC News anchor Martha Raddatz earlier this month downplayed the crisis of Venezuelan gangs in Colorado by insisting to Republican vice presidential nominee JD Vance that gang takeovers in Aurora have been "limited to a handful of apartment complexes ... a handful of problems."So according to the Times, is it OK to keep noncitizens on voting rolls ... because they rarely vote anyway? How are commenters reacting? As you might expect, many commenters took exception to the "paper of record." Here are a few examples:"Rare doesn't make it legal," one commenter stated."'Studies show.' Glad you can at least acknowledge that the number is not zero," another user noted. "Just an FYI, these people in this case self-identified as non-citizens. They cannot legally vote anyway. So removing them shouldn't be an issue.""It doesn’t matter what your studies show," another commenter wrote. "There is no reason for non-citizens to be on any voting roll.""How about just remove any chance of it at all?" another user asked. "NYT simps for 'only a little bit of illegal voting.'""Rare? Since when is rare acceptable? Have you not noticed what's going on at the Washington Post?" another commenter inquired. "Your 15 minutes of bubble liberal politics have come to an end.""This is why you are trash," another user declared."Studies show that a particular crime is rare. Accordingly, laws against it should not be enacted nor enforced," another commenter wondered incredulously. "Is that how this works now?"Like Blaze News? Trump wins major lawsuit in crucial swing state

Former President Donald Trump and the Republican National Committee won a lawsuit Wednesday against Bucks County, Pennsylvania, extending early voting through November 1. The lawsuit extending the voting deadline was filed this morning after voters expressed complaints about being turned away from voting applications due to the original deadline on Tuesday. Due to the state's electoral significance, this legal victory may be particularly consequential with less than a week until the election. "This is against the law," the Trump campaign said in a press release Wednesday. "This is voter suppression from the left. We will fight for every legal vote in Pennsylvania. Go vote, and stay in line!""Thank you to the court for making the right decision and for finding that Bucks County violated the Pennsylvania election code and providing the requested relief," James Blair, political director for the Trump campaign and the RNC, said in a post on X following the verdict. Of the seven battleground states, Pennsylvania is the largest, boasting 19 electoral votes. Due to the state's electoral significance, this legal victory may be particularly consequential with less than a week until the election. Democratic Gov. Josh Shapiro of Pennsylvania responded to the allegations prior to the verdict on Wednesday, criticizing Trump's rhetoric and past concerns over election integrity. "Republican and Democratic clerks of elections are doing their jobs here in Pennsylvania – and together with law enforcement, they’re making sure only eligible voters are able to register and vote," Shapiro said in a post on X. "Let's remember, in 2020, Donald Trump attacked our elections over and over. ... He's now trying to use the same playbook to stoke chaos, but hear me on this: we will again have a free and fair, safe and secure election — and the will of the people will be respected." "We will keep fighting," Michael Whatley, chairman of the RNC, said in a post on X announcing the legal victory. "Go vote! Stay in line!" Like Blaze News? Transgender activist's Super PAC sent misleading texts to thousands of voters

A left-wing "voter mobilization" group admitted sending misleading texts to voters that told them they had already voted when they had not. Charlotte Clymer, a transgender activist and spokesperson for AllVote, told CNN that the texts were sent out to “several thousand registered voters" in Pennsylvania. Officials in other states have flagged for 'scam' texts with misinformation in North Carolina and Arizona as well. The texts told voters they had already voted in the November election, but the group said that they intended the texts to say that records showed they had voted in the previous election in 2022. The message left out the "in 2022" part and confused voters, the group said. Clymer said the “unfortunate copy-editing error" was made by "staff working long hours." However, the group has also been accused of voting-text shenanigans in Michigan as well. The Wisconsin Election Commission said the group sent out texts with links that "at first appeared to be the voter’s municipal website" but were incorrect. The commission also criticized AllVote for appearing to portray itself as an official source of voting information. “Voters should be very careful when dealing with this type of unsolicited outreach, as the information being put forth is often inaccurate and misleading," said the commission's administrator, Meagan Wolfe. Clymer told CNN the texts had been sent to about 15,000 voters in Wisconsin but denied that group members had represented themselves as election officials. “We take every step to ensure we don’t send voters incorrect information,” Clymer said. The group did not respond to requests from CNN about who had funded its efforts. Officials in other states have flagged for "scam" texts with misinformation in North Carolina and Arizona as well. Clymer has been an outspoken activist for the transgender movement and made headlines when the activist referred to God with female pronouns and claimed God made the activist a transgender person. Tim Walz says the Electoral College ‘needs to go.’ Mark Levin explains what that would look like

The Democrat Party claims to be the party of the people. Why then is one of Tim Walz’s goals to eliminate the Electoral College? Earlier this month at a fundraiser hosted by the equally degenerate Gavin Newsom, Walz made the claim that “the Electoral College needs to go.” If Democrats succeed in this evil endeavor, “11 blue states will decide the president,” and “all the rest of the country – the 39 other states, tens of millions of people – will literally have no say in the election of the president,” Mark Levin explains. Campaigning will take place “mostly in the cities,” meaning the people who live in more rural areas or work in industries such as agriculture, natural resources, and the like “will have no representation whatsoever.” “The big metropolitan cities will decide who's president, which would be an utter and complete disaster, but the Democrat Party wants monopoly,” says Levin, adding that in addition to eliminating the Electoral College, the party also wants to “eliminate the filibuster” so that the party can rapidly pass laws “that will be impossible to undo.” Then “they'll say, ‘We don't need to amend the Constitution; we're going to pass two statutes – the District of Columbia gets two senators and Puerto Rico gets two senators.”' That’s “four more Democrats,” says Levin. “The Senate will never overcome that; Republicans will never be in the majority again.” A Harris-Walz regime “will change the voting system forever.” To hear more of what this disastrous duo wants to change, watch the clip above. Swiss suicide pod’s debut turns darker: Doctor raises murder suspicion over victim’s neck injuries

The death of a 64-year-old woman is under criminal investigation as Swiss prosecutors determine whether or not the death was an intentional homicide despite being first thought to be assisted suicide. The American mother of two, who has not been named, was initially thought to have died inside a capsule called the Sarco in Merishausen, Switzerland, in late September. Now, a Swiss prosecutor is alleging the woman may have been strangled in an "intentional homicide." A forensic doctor also testified that the woman had, among other things, severe neck injuries. The Sarco device is a suicide pod meant to allow users to push a button to inject nitrogen gas into the chamber, causing death by suffocation. The company behind the pod is a firm called the Last Resort. The company commented on the matter, saying, “On Monday 23 September, at approximately 16.01 CEST, a 64-year old woman from the mid-west in the USA died using the Sarco device.”Co-president of the organization Florian Willet called the woman's death “peaceful, fast and dignified.” He added that it occurred under “a canopy of trees, at a private forest retreat.”According to LBC, Willet was the only person physically present when the woman died, with Sarco inventor Philip Nitschke reportedly following the process via video call. However, he allegedly did not see the entire process due to technical difficulties.Willet has been in custody for weeks since the woman's death, originally because the pod is illegal. At the time, Swiss Interior Minister Elisabeth Baume-Schneider told the Swiss parliament that the use of the Sarco was not legal. Fiona Stewart, member of the advisory board and COO of the Last ResortPhoto by ARND WIEGMANN/AFP via Getty Images'She's still alive, Philip.'The Last Resort has said its program is legal, however, and does not require specific approval because the user presses the button. The company also states that the user must prove sound mental capacity before the act is carried out.The woman who allegedly took her own life with the machine reportedly did so because of a bone marrow infection. However, when Willet spoke to Nitschke over the video call, he reportedly told the inventor, "She's still alive, Philip."The comment reportedly came six and a half minutes after the user pressed the button in the machine. The court also allegedly heard that Willet was continuously leaning over the Sarco to look inside and was confused by an alarm that may have been a heart-rate monitor. An unspecified number of people were arrested following the woman's death, likely from the Last Resort company. However, all have since been released except for Willet.Like Blaze News? Bypass the censors, sign up for our newsletters, and get stories like this direct to your inbox. Sign up here!
