Bruce Willis’ Wife Emma Emotionally Details How Demi Moore Supports Her During Dementia Battle

Some say it takes a village to raise a child. Adults caring for aging parents might say the same is true in that season of life. Aging comes with its own set of challenges, but adding a complex medical diagnosis on top of that can make life difficult. Having a loving and supporting family to help during these times can make the transition easier. Bruce Willis‘ first wife, Demi Moore, and their daughters, Rumer, 36, Scout, 33, and Tallulah, 30, know this very well. The four have helped care for their father since his 2022 aphasia diagnosis. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Emma Heming Willis (@emmahemingwillis) Bruce Willis and Demi Moore Divorced Years Ago Though Bruce and Demi were married for 13 years, they moved on to different relationships. Emma Heming married Bruce Willis in 2009. The two hoped to have a long life together and share daughters, Mabel, 12, and Evelyn, 10. In 2022, Bruce’s health took a turn, and his diagnosis came as a shock to his family. “As his language started changing, it (seemed like it) was just a part of a stutter, it was just Bruce. Never in a million years would I think it would be a form of dementia for someone so young,” Emma told Town & Country. But Bruce Willis has many people who love him, and Demi Moore and their daughters rallied to help Emma. “The family respects the way I’m looking after him; they really support me,” Emma said. “If I need to vent, if I need to cry, if I need to rage — because all of that can happen and it’s okay to have those feelings — they are always there to listen.” Emma Heming Willis feels blessed that Demi Moore and her daughters play an important role in Bruce Willis’ life. “I’m so thankful that we are this blended family. They’re very supportive, very loving, and very helpful, and a lot of people don’t have that.” This story’s featured image is by Scott Rudd/WWD/Penske Media via Getty Images. Newspaper Endorsements of Candidates Matter—on the Margins

Much is being made about the decision made by a handful of newspapers not to endorse a presidential candidate this year, most notably The Washington Post. Post owner Jeff Bezos’ money-losing newspaper is now losing a chunk of its subscribers and staff, as well. His decision is either the first step on a very long road to regaining the public’s trust or another nail in the coffin of a once widely respected institution. There is, of course, no shortage of opinions being floated about what this means. I’ve heard more than one pundit comment on this development by first making a qualifying statement that newspaper endorsements don’t matter, that nobody is going to base their vote for president on what The Washington Post or The Los Angeles Times says. I beg to differ. Endorsements may not matter as much as they used to, but in a closely divided country, they could make the difference. To most voters, perhaps, and certainly among the pundit class, such endorsements don’t matter (and in some cases steel our determination to vote against the candidate endorsed). But on the bell curve of voters, there are varying degrees of people on the ends, and there is the bulging middle—the undecided. The closer to the middle people are, the more they are looking, consciously or subconsciously, for something to sway their decision. A newspaper endorsement—or lack thereof—may be all they need. You might find this difficult to believe, given how consequential this election is and how different the candidates are. But we all make decisions this way—even important ones—particularly in circumstances where we don’t clearly know what to do. Case in point: The last time I went shopping for a television, I found myself squarely in the middle of the bell curve. I went to one of those electronics superstores, where I was confronted with literally dozens of options, all beaming and blaring as if they were clamoring for my attention: “Buy me!” “Buy me!” It was instant decision overload. My coping mechanism was to do what most of us do when confronted with a confusing choice—rather than spending hours poring over owners’ manuals and sorting through conflicting consumer reviews, I developed a heuristic—that is to say, a shortcut. Professor Gird Gigerenzer of the Max Planck Institute for Human Development explains how heuristics work via the example of how baseball players catch a fly ball—a timely analogy during World Series week. “It may seem that they would have to solve complex differential equations in their heads to predict the trajectory of the ball,” Gigerenzer says. “In fact, players use a simple heuristic. When a ball comes in high, the player fixates the ball and starts running. The heuristic is to adjust the running speed so that the angle of gaze remains constant—that is, the angle between the eye and the ball. The player can ignore all the information necessary to compute the trajectory, such as the ball’s initial velocity, distance, and angle, and just focus on one piece of information—the angle of gaze.” That’s a mouthful, and while I don’t understand the physics of a fly ball, I don’t have to—precisely the professor’s point. And as a recovering marketer, I learned long ago that we can neither presume people make fully rational calculations based on articulated reasons, nor dismiss their abilities to take intuitive shortcuts based on experience, emotions, and aesthetics. In my case, I ruled out the higher-priced television options (why pay a premium?) and eliminated the lower-priced options (too cheap is risky), which narrowed my selection down to four or five. Rejecting a few more for picture quality reduced my choice to the beauty of the binary: this TV or that TV. It was then that I noticed something that, in an instant, made my decision simple. One TV was branded Dynex and one Toshiba. Before I get to the punch line, which one do you think I bought? I’ve used this illustration several times, and I’ve never heard anyone say anything other than Toshiba. Toshiba got my business because familiarity with the brand conferred on it a small, but differentiating, level of trust. Dynex had no such reservoir of brand equity in my mind. Heuristic engaged. Sale made. It’s true that mainstream newspapers have been hemorrhaging trust over the past several years, but they still retain some amount of equity—emotional, if not rational—particularly among people who haven’t been paying attention. For those voters who are still undecided about this year’s presidential contest, the Hollywood image of grizzled old patriotic editors hashing out in a smoke-filled conference room which candidate would be better for America may remain as compelling as it is outdated. It’s ironic that newspapers’ refusal to endorse either candidate has been more newsworthy than lining up behind the one everybody expected them to. That may be more influential than they intended. Pickled Cactus Recipe with a Sweet Twist

Give your typical pickled cactus a sweet makeover in the comforts of your own kitchen! If you're like me whose taste buds are almost tied to pickled goodies, this recipe is a must-try! Pickled Cactus Recipe with a Sweet Twist I love all types of pickles including the pickled cactus strips available in the stores. However, with all of the cactus I have growing at home, I decided that it was time to start pickling my own. And I really, really wanted to try something in a sweet type of brine, which I was unable to find in the stores. After a little trial and error, I came up with this brine that has worked well, and my cactus strips still stay firm with a little crisp to them. So, if you grow or have access to cactus paddles, here is a recipe that is worth trying. And if the brine isn't quite your taste, go ahead and tinker with it to come up with the flavor that hits your taste buds. Or if you have your own favorite brine, you can use that too! Just follow the part of the recipe for cleaning the paddles, then switch to your own. It makes 2-pint sized jars of pickles. Ingredients for savory sweet pickled cactus: 1 cup apple cider vinegar (I used organic, non-pasteurized) 1/8 cup sea salt 1 ¼ cup white sugar (raw sugar may be used but can change the overall flavor) 1 teaspoon honey 3 cinnamon sticks ¼ teaspoon ground turmeric ½ teaspoon mustard seed 4 small to medium sized cactus paddles, cut into ½” strips (directions follow recipe for cleaning) 6-8 whole cloves of garlic How to make the sweet brine mixture Step 1: In a small saucepan, combine vinegar, salt, sugar, honey, 1 cinnamon stick, turmeric and mustard seed. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium-high heat, then allow to cook for 5 additional minutes. Step 2: Loosely pack the cactus strips (or the equivalent) along with 3-4 garlic cloves and 1 cinnamon stick into 2-pint jars (or the equivalent). Pour the hot brine over the cactus. Cover and let cool then refrigerate. How to clean the cactus paddles Step 1: Use paddles that are bright green. The smaller you can get, the more tender, however, larger paddles may be used. Step 2: Carefully remove spines. You can scrape, but I prefer to cut them out. Cut off the entire edge of paddles and at least 1” off of the bottom. Rinse under cool water to remove any leftover scrapings. Step 3: Place the paddles in a small colander and place the colander in a non-reactive bowl and liberally toss with sea salt (kosher works well too). Let stand at least one hour. Rinse thoroughly and repeat. Step 4: Slice paddles into 1/2” strips, salt and let sit once again for  ½ an hour to 1 hour. Rinse thoroughly. Pat dry. NOTE: Tossing the paddles with salt will allow some of the moisture to escape as well as help in getting rid of some, but not all of, the natural slime that the paddle excretes when cut. (The slime IS NOT harmful to eat, however, some find it a little off setting.) If you're wondering how pickled cactus tastes like, hit the play button and watch this video: Isn't this recipe easy to make? What's even healthier about this recipe is you have an option to go for organic ingredients and have it flavored the way you want it to be. No wonder I keep using this recipe! ELECTION INTERFERENCE: Google Offers Users a Firehose of Legacy Media on Election Coverage

Google continues to go to great lengths to block users from seeing any right-of-center media outlets on 2024 presidential election news.  For the fifth consecutive week, Google rigged search results for “donald trump presidential race 2024,” shoving leftist and legacy media outlet articles into Americans’ faces. MRC researchers once again used AllSides “right” and “left” media bias ratings and had to dig deep to find the first right-of-center result for the Trump prompt search.  The first U.S.-based, right-leaning search result for the Trump prompt—a New York Post article—appeared as the eighth result on the fifth page of Google search results. This was the only right-of-center media outlet in the first 54 results, following 53 other results including left-of-center outlets such as Politico, CBS News and NBC News.  Filling the first few pages of results with left-of-center media and burying right-of-center media outlets has serious consequences. A November 2023 Pew Research survey showed that more and more Americans prefer using search engines to get their news, with 15 percent of adults preferring them—up from 13 percent in 2022 and 11 percent in 2011. And to say that Google gets the biggest piece of that would be an understatement. The search engine nearly eats the whole pie. Alphabet subsidiaries Google and YouTube account for 90 percent of daily internet searches. While Fox News appeared on the first page for the prompt “kamala harris presidential race 2024,” only two U.S.-based, right-of-center results appeared among the first 45 non-sponsored search results across Google’s initial four pages. The other right-leaning media outlet article that appeared was from Fox News, appearing under a sea of outlets that AllSides describes as “lean left.” These outlets include The New York Times, CNN, CBS News, NBC News, ABC News, Politico and even Qatari-owned Al Jazeera. Each one of these publications appeared before the second Fox News article.  MRC researchers have repeatedly exposed Google’s rigged search results, including in four prior studies using the prompts “kamala harris presidential race 2024” and “donald trump presidential race 2024.” Google has repeatedly buried articles from U.S.-based “lean-right” or "right" news outlets. In past MRC studies, U.S.-based “lean right” and “right” results for the Harris prompt did not appear until pages four, eight, 11 and 13. For the Trump prompt, such results were absent until pages five, seven, 14 and 23. Methodology  For this report, MRC Free Speech America analyzed the Oct. 29 Google search results of the innocuous words “donald trump presidential race 2024” and “kamala harris presidential race 2024.” MRC Free Speech America used a private window utilizing the Brave privacy browser to analyze Google search results to limit the influence of prior search history and tracking cookies. MRC Free Speech America also utilized the AllSides media bias chart as a gauge to determine which outlets are “right” and “lean right.” AllSides notes it has a “patent on rating bias and use[s] multiple methodologies,” not a homogenous group or an algorithm. “Our methods are: Blind Bias Surveys of Americans, Editorial Reviews by a multipartisan team of panelists who look for common types of media bias, independent reviews, and third-party data.” Readers should be aware that this report only uses the AllSides list to analyze ratings of outlets considered by AllSides to be “right” and “lean right” and does not necessarily reflect MRC’s characterizations of these outlets. ABC Kisses Up to Walz, CBS Torches Him on Biden’s ‘Garbage’ Smear, Late-Term Abortions

Democratic vice presidential nominee and Governor Tim Walz (D-MN) surfaced Wednesday morning for two different broadcast network news interviews that couldn’t have been any more different between ABC’s Good Morning America and CBS Mornings. While ABC co-host and former George Stephanopoulos kissed up to Walz with a campaign strategy session, CBS held him to account for President Biden’s smear of Trump supporters, leftist rhetoric writ large, late-term abortions, male voters abandoning his campaign with Vice President Harris, and concerns about Arab voters. Stephanopoulos first lamented to Walz that, to fulfill her promise to “seek common ground with people who disagree with her,” she’d have to see, hear, and speak “with people who supported Donald Trump, someone she calls a wanna be dictator and petty tyrant.” Some flowery language from Walz about Harris “welcom[ing] robust debate about the issues” later, Stephanopoulos brought up Biden’s “garbage” comment that Walz dismissed since “[t]he President’s clarified his remarks” and the Harris-Walz ticket “want everyone part of” their team: In contrast to ‘CBS Mornings,’ here was ABC’s ‘Good Morning America’ and former Clinton official George Stephanopoulos commiserated with Tim Walz over Joe Biden’s “garbage” comment about Trump supporters: “The Vice President was making that pledge last night, but Republicans… pic.twitter.com/yMXyWVybV1 — Curtis Houck (@CurtisHouck) October 30, 2024 Stephanopoulos gently went about the Harris-Walz’s gender gap, wondering “how do you do it” (as in close the gap) with the cushion of “Nikki Haley say[ing] the Trump campaign has to start focusing on women and give up this macho stuff.” His final two questions were open-ended jokes: You and Vice President Harris have continually said you are the underdogs in this campaign. Are you behind right now? (....) What’s your biggest concern with just six days a go and are you confident there will be a clear result next week? Outside of a few seconds at the end between Walz and co-host Nate Burleson on the Minnesota Vikings, CBS was an actual interview. Co-host Tony Dokoupil had quite the table-setter. He played Biden’s “garbage” comments with this set-up: “Vice President Kamala Harris’s closing campaign message is all about unity, but critics say a new comment from President Biden could undermine that.” After acknowledging White House denials Biden denigrated Trump supporters, Dokoupil brought Walz in with this fastball inside putting Biden’s comment in place alongside a few other examples from the last 16 years of leftist rhetoric attacking conservatives, including Walz himself referring to Trump supporters as Nazis: WATCH: CBS’s Tony Dokoupil absolutely nukes Tim Walz over Biden’s “garbage” comment, Walz calling the Trump's MSG rally akin to a Nazi gathering, and the left's history of demeaning voters.... Dokoupil: “I want to get your reaction to the President’s comments, but I want to put… pic.twitter.com/c2UY0YRrgU — Curtis Houck (@CurtisHouck) October 30, 2024 Burleson had a somewhat related follow-up about the perception that Biden has been silenced so as not to be a milestone on the campaign (click “expand”): BURLESON: You know there has been some reporting that President Biden has been sidelined during this campaign. One, is there any truth to that, and if not, is this an example of maybe why he should be sidelined? WALZ: Well, look, President Biden is the president of the United States. He’s running it. Vice President Harris is our candidate and will be the next president, and I think there’s two different positions there. The vice president is out speaking about the things that we need to be done for the country. She’s talking about all of those issues that matter to folks, and the president’s doing what he needs to do, and that’s making sure our country is reducing inflation, making sure that we’re taking our leadership role in the world where American values are front and center, so no, it doesn’t. These are just two different positions. We’re bringing this thing home in six days, and we’re going to make sure that Vice President Harris becomes our next president. CBS Mornings Plus co-host Adriana Diaz had the next two hardballs. The topic? Late-term abortions and the simple question of whether a Harris-Walz administration would be in favor of “any limits on abortion, including limiting third trimester abortions.” Diaz had to ask if twice because Walz wouldn’t answer (meaning they support it, even after a baby is viable outside the womb): Tim Walz twice refuses to answer questions on ‘CBS Mornings’ whether he and Kamala Harris oppose any restriction on abortions, even in the third trimester and well after a child reaches viability.... Adriana Diaz: “One of the things that Vice President Harris says she wants to… pic.twitter.com/fcU6AVnSfQ — Curtis Houck (@CurtisHouck) October 30, 2024 Dokoupil shifted to Arab voters in Michigan who traditionally vote Democrat, but might abandon them on their ballots (if they vote at all) “because of your support for Israel’s continued war on Hamas and Gaza and all the civilian casualties that have come with it.” Walz expressed empathy for the pro-Hamas crowd, saying he “did speak with many of them” in the campaign and while “the United States has been clear, we stand with Israel’s right to defend itself and what happened on October 7...was unconscionable...we need to make sure that the humanitarian in crisis in Gaza is brought to an end[.]” Dokoupil tried to follow-up a few minutes later to his claim Trump would bring about further destabilization and not “push back against Islamophobia” by asking him to explain why voters aren’t believing they care about Palestinians. In between the initial question and follow-up, Burleson noted Harris’s refusal to go on Joe Rogan’s podcast as an example of her inability to connect with male voters (click “expand”): BURLESON: Governor, in a recent CBS News poll, we found that there is a sizable gender gap when it comes to men, as far as this presidential race is concerned and Kamala Harris, she did not go on Joe Rogan, which, you know, she can decide to do that or not but I want to ask you, what would you say to men right now, regardless of where they sit on the political spectrum, what is your message to them as we close in on the Election Day? WALZ: Yes, several things. First of all, for the women in their lives that they love, their wives, their daughters, their partners, whoever it may be, this election, really, their lives are at stake. This issue of watching maternal mortality rates skyrocket in states like Texas is simply unacceptable, and then make sure that they’re focused on things like the manufacturing jobs coming back. Donald Trump lost more manufacturing jobs than almost any other president. We’re seeing the resurgence of that. We’re seeing a renaissance in opportunities for families and then I would tell those men too, just like women, tackling things like gun violence in our schools, protecting their little ones, are things that are on men’s minds. So I would ask them all to take a look at the issues on how it most impacts you, how it impacts the women in your lives, how it impacts a future where we can solve these problems together and then make the choice and Vice President Harris is giving us that new way forward. REPORT: Kamala Harris campaign is currently in ‘meltdown’ mode over THIS voter group

Let’s face it. Men don’t like Kamala Harris. Well, that is men who haven’t totally rejected their masculinity and allowed the woke mind virus to rid them of all sensibility. Unsurprisingly, Donald Trump has an iron grip on the male vote, and Kamala Harris knows it. “Let's just say tempers are heightened in the Kamala Harris campaign right now because their appeal to men has been backfiring,” says Liz Wheeler. “Trump by the way is outpacing Kamala in getting men's votes so much more than ... any Republican candidate versus a Democrat candidate in recent history.” The campaign has thrown everything it can think of at Donald Trump in the final weeks leading up to the election. It’s recycled the Trump is Hitler narrative. It’s tried to “troll out allegations of sexual misconduct,” which were debunked immediately. It's run defamatory pieces against him. It's rallied its media allies to condemn him as a fascist. It's churned out ridiculous campaign ads, like the “I’m a man” ad that was so outrageous, many thought it was satire. It's even “trotted out Michelle Obama to make an appeal to men to vote for Kamala Harris.” While some of these tactics have worked in the past, “none of them are sticking” this time, says Liz. People are waking up to the reality that the Democrat Party runs on “egregious lies” pinned against its political opponent. Further, people are finally seeing the truth about our mainstream media. “They are not journalists; they are not reporting on what's happening; they are not holding government accountable. They are actual propaganda arms of the Democrat Party who hate us,” says Liz. But “there is an antidote to this problem,” she adds. To find out what it is, watch the clip above. New Mexico GOP accuses state officials of denying parking for Trump rally out of political motivation

The Republican Party of New Mexico is accusing state officials of political machinations in an attempt to shut down a Trump rally planned in Albuquerque. A spokesperson for the Trump campaign told KRQE-TV that they had an agreement with Live Nation for supporters to park at the lot at Isleta Amphitheater and then be shuttled to the rally location at CSI Aviation. On Tuesday, the state claimed that the lot was not allowed to be used for events outside of the amphitheater. 'For the lack of a better word, I’ll just say bologna. That’s not true and I don’t believe it for a minute.' Stephanie Garcia Richard, New Mexico Commissioner of Public Lands, blamed Live Nation for the conflict. “Their contract is for the amphitheater. So, either they didn’t read the lease they had with us or they wanted to make me kind of the fall guy for this situation because this is not of my creation,” said Garcia Richard about Live Nation. Garcia Richard is a Democrat. “If Live Nation were to have an event at the amphitheater themselves and maybe schedule the rally at the amphitheater then the parking lot could be used," she explained.New Mexico Republicans are accusing officials of trying to shut down the rally out of political motivation. “This just doesn’t pass the smell test,” said Jim Townsend, a Republican state representative. “This is clearly a political process.”He pointed out that the lot had been used previously for an event that was held elsewhere, but Garcia Richard countered that the issue was that Live Nation had not negotiated the parking prior to the event. “If I would have authorized it for one party and not another, for one candidate and not another, I could see that being politically motivated. This is just something, in general, we do not do,” she explained. Townsend isn't buying it. “For the lack of a better word, I’ll just say bologna. That’s not true and I don’t believe it for a minute,” he said. "This is outrageous. This is sheer, naked, bitter partisanship. It should enrage you," he added in a statement on social media that was reposted by the GOP state party. City officials were also accused of trying to keep the rally out of the Albuquerque Convention Center out of political motivations. The Trump campaign said it is scrambling to secure enough parking for the Thursday rally. Here's a news report about the furor on the KRQE YouTube channel. Like Blaze News? Taxpayer funds wasted on DHS outreach campaign to help illegal immigrants

The Biden-Harris administration's Department of Homeland Security has squandered taxpayer funds to erect billboards in Texas offering legal assistance to detained illegal immigrants.A DHS source tipped off Fox News Digital about the billboards last week. One of the advertisements read, "Your brother in immigration custody has rights.""We're here to help," it adds. The ads were created by the DHS' Office of the Immigration Detention Ombudsman, an independent office that "assists individuals with complaints about the potential violation of immigration detention standards or other misconduct by DHS (or contract) personnel." The office also oversees immigration detention facilities.'Congress should NOT be funding propaganda to undermine our own laws.'The DHS' decision to put up the billboards sparked outrage within the department's agencies, according to Fox News Digital.Immigration and Customs Enforcement and Border Patrol officers told the news outlet they are furious.Fox News Digital journalist Bill Melugin stated, "Multiple DHS contacts I've talked to, including in ICE & Border Patrol, are outraged about the billboards, telling me their agencies are already working with limited funding/resources, and DHS is spending money on billboards that they feel work against them."An ICE source called the ads "more than insulting."A Border Patrol agent told Melugin, "This is so wrong."When Fox News Digital reached out for comment, DHS responded with "a history lesson about the ombudsman office" but did not answer any questions."DHS and its employees provide the highest standard of care for individuals who are detained in its custody," the DHS stated.Rep. Chip Roy (R-Texas) called the DHS' outreach campaign "insane.""The news that DHS is using taxpayer money to launch billboards advocating 'rights' for individuals in 'immigration custody' should be alarming because it's a preview of the legal arguments that radical progressive democrats will use to argue against deportation of the millions dumped in America by Biden-Harris-Mayorkas," Roy stated. "Congress should NOT be funding propaganda to undermine our own laws. That's insane.""Americans should not PAY for free legal advice to foreign criminals," Roy declared.Rep. Tony Gonzales (R-Texas) said, "Whether it's FEMA splurging hundreds of millions of dollars on migrant housing or OIDO running ads like this, our government is hemorrhaging money on the wrong priorities.""It's time for Congress to pull the plug on programs like these," he added.Like Blaze News?
