Twice failed Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton said during an interview this week that many voters like former President Donald Trump because they view him as “strong.” Clinton made the remarks Thursday night on CNN’s “The Source” with Kaitlan Collins while talking about the state of the upcoming election between Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris. “Well, first of all, I don’t think she has Jim Comey in the wings waiting to kneecap her,” Clinton said. “So that’s good. And I’m very grateful for that.” Collins asked Clinton if she thought that there was a “double standard” in the race since Harris showed up for CNN’s recent town hall while Trump declined. “I really do, Kaitlan, and I see it as a double standard,” Clinton said, even though Trump has far outpaced Harris in the number of media interviews both candidates have given. “Thankfully, we’ve made progress when it comes to women in politics and certainly seeking the highest office in the land,” she said. “But there still is a double standard, and I think there’s also a double standard because it still is very difficult to cover Donald Trump.” When asked why Trump has seen a surge in support, Clinton said it’s because those who are backing him “think that he offers a better deal” for their economic future. House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) slammed Vice President Kamala Harris on Friday for echoing the words of a man who has been charged with attempting to assassinate former President Donald Trump. “This summer, after the first attempted assassination of a presidential candidate in more than a century, President Biden insisted that ‘we cannot allow this violence to be normalized,’” the statement said. “In September, after President Trump escaped yet another close call, Vice President Harris acknowledged that ‘we all must do our part to ensure that this incident does not lead to more violence.’” The statement said that Biden’s and Harris’ words “have proven hollow” as Harris, as the Democrat Party’s presidential nominee, has “only fanned the flames beneath a boiling cauldron of political animus.” “Her most recent and most reckless invocations of the darkest evil of the 20th century seem to dare it to boil over,” they wrote. “The Vice President’s words more closely resemble those of President Trump’s second would-be assassin than her own earlier appeal to civility.” NEWS The Speaker of the House, Mike Johnson, and Republican Senate Leader, Mitch McConnell, have issued a statement slamming Vice President Harris for what they call her “dangerous rhetoric” when speaking about former President Trump. Harris said during a CNN town hall on Wednesday night that Trump was a “fascist,” the same type of rhetoric used by Democrat donor Ryan Routh, who was charged for allegedly attempting to assassinate Trump at a golf course in September. Routh had even written a book where he called for Trump’s assassination. They said that Harris “must abandon the base and irresponsible rhetoric that endangers both American lives and institutions.” “We have both been briefed on the ongoing and persistent threats to former President Donald Trump by adversaries to the United States, and we call on the Vice President to take these threats seriously, stop escalating the threat environment, and help ensure President Trump has the necessary resources to be protected from those threats,” they concluded.

“Brady Bunch” cast alum Susan Olsen, who played Cindy on the classic sitcom, said a reboot of the show was ultimately scrapped because of her political beliefs. The 63-year-old actress discussed what happened during a newly published episode of the WalkAway Campaign podcast this week. Olsen mentioned how producers concocted a follow-up version of the show where all the Brady kids were adults with different political leanings. She said it would have resembled the “Roseanne” reboot from 2018 that had “a family with completely different political opinions, and in the end, they all love and respect each other.” Olsen said Greg Brady (Barry Williams) would have been “a Reagan Republican,” Jan Brady would be a liberal, and Cindy would be a libertarian podcaster with views similar to the actress’s real beliefs. “I am what I was going to portray, so what kind of show would this be if I can’t say anything that’s controversial?” Olsen said. “I did have a phone call with my [TV] siblings calling me and my agent. Everybody was saying, ‘We’re sorry, but they just won’t budge. They just will not have you in this.’ I’m like wow, I’ve been canceled. A role that I’ve played for over 50 years, I can’t play it now because I’m too dangerous. So I was like ‘Well, okay guys, good luck, I hope you can sell it.'” Olsen was fired from her Los Angeles talk radio show “Two Chicks Talkin’ Politics” in 2016 after getting into an argument with guest Leon Acord-Whiting, who called her “a Trump fanatic” and accused her of spreading “outrageous misinformation.”  Acord-Whiting posted a screenshot of a private message Olsen had allegedly sent him on Facebook containing “hateful speech,” which prompted LA Talk Radio to cut ties. Olsen said CBS had a 50-page dossier of past comments that could be considered controversial, including her questioning of the COVID vaccine and her saying that “gender affirming” surgeries for minors were causing “irreparable damage.”  The actress agreed to the network’s suggestion that she take a course on “political correctness” if needed. If we go forward with this project, it will not be with her.’ To be honest, those 50 pages were my greatest hits. I stand by everything I said.” Olsen said as they kept trying to make the project work, she had a Zoom meeting resembling an “inquisition” with the showrunner, producer, and her agent. During the call, she was asked about her current stance on all the hot-button issues.  The actress said her agent mentioned trying to “circumvent” CBS, but she decided to let it go. “No, I’m done. At this point, you’re going to have a woke Brady Bunch, and I want no part of it,” Olsen said at the time. 

The Biden-Harris administration has made no secret of its effort to push diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) in the United States. But it is also working to push the leftwing racial ideology around the world. In 2022, the administration named Desiree Cormier Smith the State Department’s first Special Representative for Racial Equity and Justice. She is officially charged with advancing “the human rights of members of marginalized racial, ethnic, and Indigenous communities,” and building “global partnerships to combat systemic racism, discrimination, and xenophobia.” In her own words, that amounts to fighting “structural racism, discrimination, and xenophobia,” which she says “are global scourges that require global solutions.” Smith’s role is perhaps the biggest example of the Biden-Harris administration’s commitment to pushing DEI. It is also a likely target for elimination should former President Donald Trump win re-election in November. Trump has indicated that he will fire leftwing bureaucrats who may otherwise obstruct his policy agenda. Smith — who says her role exists “because the Biden-Harris administration acknowledges the global nature of systemic racism” — acknowledged as much during an appearance on a Harvard University podcast. “If we get a Republican president or any other president in the future … then the whole-of-government approach might be a very different one and might not include this position any longer,” the interviewer said. “That is a possibility,” Smith responded. The Biden-Harris administration has pushed the DEI agenda throughout the national security establishment. The National Security Agency created a DEI glossary including terms like “white fragility,” “settler colonialism,” and “transmisogyny,” openly referencing the work of Critical Race Theorists, The Daily Wire revealed in an exclusive investigation.  The Office of the Director of National Intelligence also advanced the far-left DEI agenda, celebrating one intelligence agent who said that cross-dressing made him a better intelligence official and telling agents to avoid using “problematic phrases” when discussing Islamic terrorism. The military has embraced the same ideologies, with the Air Force hosting the CEO of an organization that encourages child sex changes as a speaker at an LGBT pride event, and the Department of Defense requesting nearly $270 million over two years for its DEI agenda. A State Department spokesman told The Daily Wire that Smith’s appointment “underscores the Department’s clear commitment to combating systemic racism, discrimination, and xenophobia globally.” “The State Department’s first-ever Special Representative for Racial Equity and Justice was established to advance the human rights of members of marginalized racial, ethnic, and Indigenous communities,” the spokesman said, sidestepping The Daily Wire’s inquiry as to whether or not the State Department believes that the United States is a systemically racist country.  “Structural racism, discrimination, and xenophobia are global scourges that require global solutions,” Smith said in an interview with the Center For Strategic & International Studies. She also claimed that white supremacy is a “global threat” that requires solutions across “continents and national borders.” “So when we look at racially and ethnically motivated violent extremism, white supremacy is at the top of that,” Smith stated. “And so those who engage in violent White supremacy, again, they know no borders.” FBI data indicate that white people are underrepresented among hate crime offenders in the United States relative to their share of the population over the last five years. Smith began her diplomatic career in the Pickering Fellowship, a State Department program that seeks “members of minority groups historically underrepresented in the State Department, women, and those with a demonstrated financial need for graduate school.” She previously worked for leftwing billionaire George Soros’ Open Society Foundation, as a senior policy advisor for Africa, Europe, and Eurasia. Smith says that DEI is a “national security imperative,” and that white supremacy is a “global threat” that requires solutions across “continents and national borders.” Just like the State Department’s LGBTQI Special Envoy, previously spotlighted by The Daily Wire, Smith travels across the world as she engages in government-sanctioned activism. Smith detailed one story in which she received a gift from a Brazilian woman who “gave me a shirt with a phrase in Portuguese.” “Now, I don’t speak Portuguese yet, so when I got to my office I looked it up,” the State Department official went on to explain. “And the text on the shirt translated to ‘Justice is a Black woman, and she does not walk alone.’ And I thought it was so profound and so meaningful, as a Black woman.”
