Godzilla Minus One Heading Back to Theaters to Celebrate Big Guy’s Anniversary

News Godzilla Minus One Godzilla Minus One Heading Back to Theaters to Celebrate Big Guy’s Anniversary Gojira is turning 70 years old this year! By Vanessa Armstrong | Published on October 18, 2024 Credit: Toho International Comment 0 Share New Share Credit: Toho International Did you know that November 3 was Godzilla Day, and that this year the King of Monsters is turning seventy years old? If you didn’t, you do now, and to celebrate the occasion, Toho’s Godzilla Minus One as well as the movie’s remastered black-and-white rendition, Godzilla Minus One/Minus Color, are heading back to U.S. theaters. The Academy Award-winning film from writer-director Takashi Yamazaki has received critical and commercial praise, and its return to the big screen will please many a kaiju fan. This re-release will also include approximately thirteen minutes of exclusive bonus behind-the-scenes content, showcasing Japan’s struggle against the colossal threat of Godzilla in a post-war landscape. “Set in a post-war Japan, Godzilla Minus One will once again show us a Godzilla that is a terrifying and overwhelming force,” Koji Ueda, President of Toho International, said in a statement when the film was first released. “The concept is that Japan, which had already been devastated by the war, faces a new threat with Godzilla, bringing the country into the ‘minus.’” Godzilla Minus One returning to theaters is a definite positive, and you can see it again on the big screen starting on November 1, 2024. Head to the website, tickets.godzilla.com, to see if it’s playing at a cinema near you.[end-mark] The post Godzilla Minus One Heading Back to Theaters to Celebrate Big Guy’s Anniversary appeared first on Reactor.

Are UK Labor Party and Harris Campaign Headed for Legal Jeopardy?

The United Kingdom’s Labor Party and Kamala Harris’ presidential campaign may be marching into the same legal jeopardy as the Australian Labor Party and Bernie Sanders’ campaign for president did in 2016: violating federal law that bans foreigners from financial involvement in American political campaigns. Various news sources report that Sofia Patel, head of operations for the Labor Party in the U.K., is recruiting members to campaign for Harris in swing states such as North Carolina, Nevada, and Pennsylvania. As a former member of the Federal Election Commission, the agency responsible for civil enforcement of federal campaign finance laws, I can tell you that the law on this is quite clear: 52 U.S.C. § 30121 prohibits any foreign national from making “a contribution or donation of money or other thing of value” in connection with a federal, state, or local election. As the FEC’s website explains, that ban doesn’t prevent a foreigner from participating in “campaign activities as an uncompensated volunteer” although even as a volunteer, the foreigner cannot “participate in the decision-making process of the campaign.” But this also means that if the members of the U.K. Labor Party who are interfering in our 2024 election process aren’t really volunteers, then Patel, her party, and the Harris campaign are potentially in a lot of trouble. If Patel and the Labor Party are paying any expenses for party members, including travel costs to get to the U.S. or any kind of salary or stipend, then they are violating the law. And if the Harris campaign accepts their help, then the campaign also is violating the law. That is exactly what happened in 2016 to the Australian Labor Party and Sanders’ campaign for the U.S. presidency. As the 2018 agreement to settle the enforcement action (MUIR 7035) filed by the FEC against the Labor Party explains, the Sanders campaign accepted “seven delegates” from the Aussies to work in four locations. These individuals were part of “an international program that sends delegates around the world to engage with progressive, social democratic, and Labor parties,” the document says. The so-called volunteers not only had travel expenses covered by the Australian Labor Party, they received a stipend from the party. In other words, they were being paid by the Australian Labor Party to work for the Sanders campaign. Those payments constituted a “prohibited in-kind foreign national contribution in violation of” federal law, as the settlement agreement outlines. The Australian Labor Party claimed that the purpose of the program “was to learn best practices and skills in progressive policy and campaign development” and that the party “did not intend to influence any election.” That claim obviously doesn’t pass the laugh test. In order to settle the case, the Australian Labor Party agreed to pay a civil penalty to the FEC of $14,500 and to “cease and desist” from violating federal law. The Sanders campaign—“without admitting liability”—agreed to pay a similar civil penalty of $14,500 and to stop violating the law. Why? Because it is also a violation of the law for a campaign to accept a foreign financial donation or in-kind contribution. By accepting the assistance of foreign-paid staffers, the Sanders campaign broke federal law. By the way, even if the U.K. Labor Party were to work independently of the Harris campaign without any coordination or communications between them, it still potentially would violate the law. An FEC regulation, 11 CFR 110.20, explains that foreign nationals also are banned from making any “independent expenditure, or disbursement in connection with any federal, state, or local election.” It seems a bit far-fetched to believe that the U.K. Labor Party would send “volunteers” to the U.S. without paying their way, or that these volunteers would know what to do in a foreign country without any communications or coordination with the campaign they are here to assist. But even if that is true and the foreign nationals are engaging only in independent campaign expenditures, they are still breaking the law. In any event, the U.K. Labor Party is going down a dangerous road that may result in legal action against it. Apparently, the party hasn’t learned the lesson from its brethren in Australia, who discovered that interfering in a U.S. election has consequences. Patel, as the party’s operations chief, might want to give the Aussies a call. The Harris campaign should publicly reject this assistance and inform the U.K. Labor Party that its members aren’t welcome to play in American politics. Otherwise, the vice president’s campaign will be saying that it welcomes foreign interference in our election process—as long as it’s progressive interference that helps Harris’ side of the political aisle. Kind Person Takes in Kitten, Though Tiniest of All, He Has Heart of a Lion Cat and a Will that Never Quits

A kind person took in a kitten. Though tiniest of all, he had the heart of a lion and a will that never quit. Crescendo (aka Chris)CommunityCatClubLate last month, Sara Sharp, founder of Community Cat Club, was contacted about a little kitten named Crescendo (aka Chris) needing critical care.Chris came from a hoarding situation with his mom and siblings. Shortly after arrival, his foster mom noticed he wasn't thriving. "He was already the smallest one of the litter when we rescued them," Sara shared with Love Meow. The little runt was underweight, cold, and sickly, but he never gave up. CommunityCatClub"She brought him to me, where he went right in the incubator and received extra heat support and other supportive care."Sara began tube-feeding the kitten every two hours since he couldn't eat on his own. After tireless effort, he finally perked up, and his temperature stabilized. He was a mere handful of fur but had a heart as brave as any big cat. CommunityCatClubAfter a few days of round-the-clock care, Chris put on much-needed weight and grew a little belly that he proudly showed off after each feeding. Despite the odds against him, Sara saw a fiery spirit in him and remained hopeful that he would turn a corner. At the vet's office, Chris quickly won the hearts of all the staff members. For such a tiny kitten, he had an impressively big voice. CommunityCatClubIt was touch and go for a while, but Sara never stopped fighting for Chris. "Caring for critical neonatal kittens is a lot of work. I am honestly exhausted, but it is so worth it to save little lives like Crescendo.""This guy is definitely a spicy little fighter. He is constantly screaming at me when it's mealtime. He knows what he wants and when he wants it." CommunityCatClubWhen Chris finally surpassed the 200-gram (7-oz) mark, he let out the squeakiest roars as if declaring he was a force to be reckoned with.Because of his petite size and delayed development, his head appeared to be larger than his body. He still needed to be assisted at mealtime but had a spirit that couldn't be tamed. "It's his world, and I'm just living it." CommunityCatClubSara introduced him to new snuggle toys that he accepted with enthusiasm and his signature screams. Though smaller than his plushie, he tried to wrestle it like a mighty warrior."It has been a rollercoaster, but now he's doing great. He's still a small guy and is taking his time with things, but that's okay." CommunityCatClubAfter a lot of hard work, Chris has finally got the hang of his bottle and is eating like a champ, making steady gains. At the sight of his food, he opens his gummy mouth wide and stretches his toes like he means business. Chris meows at the top of his lungs and won't stop until his bottle is served. CommunityCatClubEven a few seconds' delay is completely unacceptable for the "natural-born yapper." It's amazing how a tiny body can produce such a big voice."He's very demanding and knows exactly what he wants. He loves to eat, loves to scream, and loves head rubs and smooches." CommunityCatClubAfter three weeks of dedicated care, Chris is growing and finally looking like a cat. He adores his people and indulges in cuddles and kisses after each meal. With his body catching up in size, his curiosity is emerging. CommunityCatClubDespite all the strikes against him, Chris bounced back and is now flourishing into a happy kitty with a good appetite and a zest for new adventures. Childless Chelsea Handler Calls Herself A 'Threat' to Men

Childless dog lady Chelsea Handler insists she’s a "threat" to men. Ah yes. It’s not because she’s a whiny, admittedly “selfish” femcel that no man wants to be around. It must be that she’s a “threat to a lot of straight men who don’t have enough self-confidence,” the late-night talk show host proclaimed in an interview on Kelly Ripa’s “Let’s Talk Off Camera” podcast. “You shouldn’t find it threatening, you should find it empowering that I’m spreading this message to other women; if you want to have a baby, for sure get one, but if you don’t want to have a baby that’s valid, too,” the "comedian" said. “Your value is not dependent on whether or not you’re married and your value is not dependent on whether you procreate,” Handler continued in a defense of her choices. “I want to spread joy and positivity and I want women to feel valued,” Handler continued. So much for that “joy” feminists keep preaching about: Handler complained that having a family would mean she’d have to be “focused on them” (instead of herself). She told Rippa it would give her a “set of responsibilities” that she “never wanted in the first place.” God forbid, she’d ever have to grow up and look after others! But Handler twisted her self-serving lifestyle, claiming it gives her more time to help the lives of others. After all, she insists, being alone and childless provides her with “extra spending cash” to “generously” “give away.’ Like on $5 million estates and private jets for her pets. Having no family is “f*cking awesome,” she told Ripa. To prove how much “joy” it brings her, she recently posted this totally not depressing video on TikTok, entitled “Day In the Life of A Childless Woman.” “I wake up at 6 AM. I remember that I have no kids to take to school, so I take an edible, masturbate, and go back to sleep,” she began in the clip. Just another day for child-free @chelseahandler #DayInTheLife pic.twitter.com/MTCqbHQBeY — The Daily Show (@TheDailyShow) February 10, 2023 The lady doth protest too much.

'Incredibly Haphazard': MSNBC Israel Says Killing 10/7 Architect 'Raises Questions'

If there was any media personality liable to say something mind-numbingly dumb after Israel killed Hamas leader and October 7 mastermind Yahya Sinwar on Friday, it was MSNBC’s Ayman Mohyeldin, and lo and behold, he delivered on Alex Wagner Tonight. According to Mohyeldin and the eponymous host, the fact that Sinwar’s death was a happy accident “raises questions” as to just what Israel has been doing over the past year. Wagner claimed, “The circumstances, and you’re so right to point it out, the circumstances of his death, he's out there, I believe, killed by IDF trainees, right?” She added, “This is all seemingly incredibly haphazard how it happens, it doesn’t seem like Israel has any intelligence that it’s even Sinwar when it’s in a firefight with him.” That’s not what “haphazard” means. The troops were on a routine patrol and encountered gunmen and engaged and Sinwar happened to be among the enemy forces. Still, Mohyeldin agreed: Well, again, that's why there is a lot of questions that need to be asked about the intelligence that goes into what Israel has been doing in Gaza for the past year. 42,000 Palestinians killed, no doubt that there has been moments when Israel has targeted specific people, but if it has been just ‘destroy Gaza and kill everybody who's in there’ as we saw today in this, kind of, like, random way you come across the leader of Hamas, then it raises questions as to what are you actually doing? What are you targeting at this point in the process? This is real life where even the best intelligence services are staffed by humans, not gods. Israel can determine certain strategic or battlefield targets through technology and on the ground presence, but Sinwar wasn’t wearing a GPS tracking device that said “Here I am. Come get me.” To avoid detection by Israeli and American intelligence, he was reportedly using handwritten notes. He was presumably being transferred from one hiding location to another when he was killed because, despite Wagner and Mohyeldin’s consternations, Israel knew his general, but not precise location. Furthermore, this is just another example of Israel’s critics being unhappy no matter what it does. When Israel bombs a target, it is accused of being reckless and people demand it be more precise, but when it engages in a firefight with gunmen, it is accused of being “haphazard.” Here is a transcript for the October 17 show: MSNBC Alex Wagner Tonight 10/17/2024 9:39 PM ET ALEX WAGNER: The circumstances, and you’re so right to point it out the circumstances of his death, he's out there, I believe, killed by IDF trainees, right? AYMAN MOHYELDIN: Right. WAGNER: This is all seemingly incredibly haphazard how it happens, it doesn’t seem like Israel has any intelligence that it’s even Sinwar when it’s in a firefight with him. MOHYELDIN: Well, again, that's why there is a lot of questions that need to be asked about the intelligence that goes into what Israel has been doing in Gaza for the past year. 42,000 Palestinians killed, no doubt that there has been moments when Israel has targeted specific, people but if it has been just "destroy Gaza and kill everybody who's in there" as we saw today in this, kind of, like, random way-- WAGNER: Yeah. MOHYELDIN: --you come across the leader of Hamas, then it raises questions as to what are you actually doing? What are you targeting at this point in the process?

Liberals lash out at Jim Gaffigan for 'normalizing' Trump and slamming Kamala Harris' absence at Al Smith Dinner

Comedian Jim Gaffigan emceed the charity Al Smith Dinner, and many on the left were outraged that he took swipes at Democrats while "normalizing" former President Donald Trump. 'F*** everyone who normalizes that demented fascist rapist. What an obscene event.' Gaffigan mocked Democratic Vice President Kamala Harris for skipping the dinner and referred to her as a "mediocre vice president" during his speech. While he also took aim at Trump and others in attendance, many viewers were outraged that he would even sit at a dinner with the former president. "Holy f*** Jim Gaffigan was embarrassingly bad tonight. Oh and he helped legitimize a f***ing fascist. So, you know, f*** all of that," responded actor Jeff Locker. "You stood and applauded a convicted felon and rapist who oversaw an attack on the Capitol in order to maintain power? For shame, Jim. For shame," replied another detractor. "Jim Gaffigan is now in the same s***pile with hair tousling Jimmy Fallon to me. F*** everyone who normalizes that demented fascist rapist. What an obscene event," said an account identifying as a feminist. "F*** Jim Gaffigan for hosting this s***!" read another tweet. "I was a big Jim Gaffigan fan. All he did yesterday was prove being Catholic is more important to him than standing up for what's right. Sitting in that room with that piece of s*** and tucking it up with him? F*** that noise," read another response. "Well, I never thought I’d say F Jim Gaffigan, but here we are," said another critic. Gaffigan especially ridiculed the event for catering to the powerful and wealthy elites of New York City. The dinner is named after Al Smith, the governor of New York from 1923 until 1929 and the first Catholic to run in a major political party in 1928. Video of Gaffigan's comments can be viewed on YouTube. Like Blaze News? Bypass the censors, sign up for our newsletters, and get stories like this direct to your inbox. Sign up here!

EXCLUSIVE: Trump slams Harris for being a 'broken record' in new ad

Former President Donald Trump's campaign released a new ad Friday alongside the Republican National Committee criticizing Vice President Kamala Harris for her "broken record" responses during her recent media blitz. The ad, which is set to run across Trump's and the RNC's massive social media accounts, features clips of Harris across several media appearances resorting to the same talking points, sometimes word for word, when she's pressed about her plans to "turn the page." "Kamala Harris is a broken record," RNC spokeswoman Anna Kelly told Blaze News. "She has no plan to lower costs because her policies increased prices in the first place. Kamalanomics has destroyed our economy, and now, she's only offering four more years of economic misery. The more interviews she does, the more obvious it becomes." The clips show interviewers asking Harris whether Americans are better off than they were four years ago as well as about specific policy proposals she has to make life more affordable for people. The ad shows Harris subsequently responding with her frequently used "middle-class" talking point on four separate occasions. These excerpts are followed by five more separate instances of Harris admitting that the American dream has become "elusive" and "unattainable," followed by five more clips of her acknowledging that prices, in particular for groceries, are too high. "Home ownership for too many people in our country now is elusive, you know?" Harris said in the ad. "Gone is the day of everyone thinking they could actually live the American dream." While voters see the American dream in their rearview mirrors, Harris has failed to answer how this could have happened on her watch. As the ad spotlights, even CNN anchor Dana Bash pressed the presidential hopeful on her leadership. "You have been vice president for three and a half years," Bash said to Harris. "The steps that you're talking about now, why haven't you done them already?" "Only President Trump will make America wealthy again," Kelly told Blaze News. "He did it once, and he'll do it again!"
